Problems in a Workflow..

Hi all....
I am new to Workflow.. I have tried one example given in saptechnical site under
/Tutorials/Workflow/WorkflowTutorialOne/WorkFlowTutorial1
Now when I execute the workflow & check the Inbox it shows me an mail. when I execute that workflow in the Inbox it opens another window as "Decision step in WorkFlow" and has Workflow & Create buttons but doesnt show any decission making screen below that as stated in the above mentioned example.
Also when I check messages it says "No start event or start transactions/forms".
Pls guide me further as to what should I do.

Check the Decision that you have given in your Decision making Step..:-)
Keep a track of the Binding and the Agent Assignment..
Just Re-Start the System and Trigger the WF Again,,:-)

This is just a Warning message and you can ignore this..This is because you are not using any Triggering Event for your WF..

Problem in standard workflow of claims in ESS

Hi ,
I am functional consultant and I am facing problem in standard workflow of claims WS18900023 .
When approver clicks on approve button it gives message that ' Validation is succesful 'and it does not get approved.
When approver clicks on Approve button it should say that request has been approved and that workiten should go from his inbox but this is not happening .That workitem still shows in his inbox with same status of to be approved .
Kinldy help in resolving this issue .

Hi Archana,
I assue that you have activated the BADI GET_NEXT_APPROVER.
Follow these steps.
=> Request for claims from portal.
=> Then in SAP run the T-code HRPBSIN_AC_ACRP and check the request status. It should show as To Be Approved.
=> Then logon as manager and approve the request from UWL.
=> Now agian in SAP run the T-code HRPBSIN_AC_ACRP and check the request status. It should show as Approved. ( If your maintaining Multi level approval process status will be Partially Approved).
=> Once it shows status Approved, Run the T-code HRPBSIN_AC_INFU, it will show the list of requests to be update in IT0015.

Facing some problem while configuring Workflow Manager 1.0.

Hi,
I am facing some problem while configuring Workflow Manager 1.0. in my farm.
Scenario is,
I have installed and configured workflow manager in my farm, it was working well with no issue. But one of team member played with AD and deleted Farm administrator's entry from AD by mistake. So suddenly workflows get affected and stopped working.
Then I added administrator entry in AD, uninstalled the Workflow Manager and installed it again. But now while configuring workflow manager I am facing some issues that "Failure to adding user in BUILTIN\Administrative group. Please add it manually"
And after sometime it shows another error message that, "Starting service Service Bus Massage broken failed: Timed out has expired, the operation has not been completed"
If I go for services then "Service bus Message broker" service is not running properly (Its status is just showing "Starting") and don't starts.
I have also added the user in BUILTIN\Administrator, IIS_IUSER, WSS_WPG group of the machine from computer manager - user and groups.
Also given permission to databases, and assign role of sysadmin and dbcreator to user
I also tried following steps
1) Stop all services associated to workflows
2) Uninstalled workflow manager
3) Deleted all databases associated with workflows
4) Installed workflow manager and tried to configure.
But showing same error.
If I use another SharePoint server farm to configure workflows, there I am not getting first error of adding user to BUILTIN\Administrator group. but second error remains same.
We having SQL server and Active directory at another machine and FARM at another machine, if I use local admin for configuration of the workflows (as local admin can start any services) but entry of local admin is not Active directory so can not assign SQL's
sysadmin, and dbcreator role to local admin.
I am attaching snapshot of error for better understanding.

Check to see what the service accounts are being used for these Workflow Manager 1.0 services:
Service Bus Message Broker
Service Bus Gateway
Workflow Manager Backend
All of these should be running and your workflow service account should be running all of these. If any are still configured under the old service account, they'll need to be updated. Next, check to see what service accounts have access to the
Workflow Manager 1.0 databases:
SbGatewayDatabase
SbManagement
SbMessageContainer
WFInstanceManagement
WFManagement
WFResourceManagement
The Workflow Manager service account should be mapped as the DBO for all of these. if any are still configured under the old service account, they'll need to be updated.
Given the complete loss of the original workflow service account, and the resultant impact on security configuration throughout the workflow farm, I would recommend performing a re-installation. Do it thus:
Launch Workflow Manager Configuration Wizard
Select the Leave Workflow Manager Farm
Stop all workflow services (see above list)
Repeat steps 1-3 for each instance of Workflow Manager 1.0 Server installed.
Delete all Workflow Manager databases (see above list).
reboot.
Start new installation.

Problem while Integrating workflow with OID.

Hi I have a problem with integrating workflow with OID.I must execute the wf_ldap.synch_all() but I couldn't find WF_LDAP package body in the database.There is only package specification.How I can restore the wf_ldap package.

The file WFLDAPB.pls should be used to recreate the package body for WF_LDAP (this file is in the wf/sql directory).

Problems with Automatic Workflow Customizing

Hi!
I am having problems with Automatic Workflow Customizing (SWU3). I am trying to execute "Configure RFC Destination" manually. I receive the message "Synchronization of passwords failed".
We are using CUA and it is therefor not possible to create the user from SWU3 which means that WF-BATCH has been created in CUA with a pw which is then filled in by me when executing "Configure RFC Destination".
WF-BATCH has authorization SAP_NEW, SAP_ALL
My user also has SAP_NEW and SAP_ALL and usergroup SUPER.
Does anyone know what might be the problem?

Hello Anders,
Check if the user is locked in SU01. Then check if your user has been created in CUA.
It is recommended to delete WF_BATCH. The system will auto create the user ID WF-BATCH and synchronize the password.

Problem in leave workflow working in ESS

Dear All ,
I ahve modified standard workflow for leave WS12300111 . I have 2 levels of approval . The step which goes to approver is standard task TS12300097 which is calling DUMMY method of CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS class .
Now my problem is suppose 100 people have applied for the leave after managers approval it workitem will go to HR . So in HR's UWL he/she will have 100 workitem . Now supose HR clicks on first workitem in by logging in to ESS . when HR clicks on pop-up comes on the top it has one table sort of thing , here all the 100 leave request r getting diplayed .
I want Table to dislay only the Leave request of an employee belonging to That workitem . Please help in this regard . This is very high priority issue .

I am facing the following problems in displaying the workflow Items in UWL
I am able to see the work flow items in SAP inbox but not in UWL.
The following are my issues and questions
1. what is the type of system to be created in portal.
BI JDBC System
BI ODBO-Compliant OLAP System
KM Windows System
Portal Tenant System
SAP system using connection string
SAP system using dedicated application server
SAP system with load balancing
Web Service System using WSDL URL
2. what is the configuration need to be done in Universal Worklist & Workflow
3. Any other configurations need to be done in WAS server and SAP server.
Please anyone give me the solutions and it is urgent.

Hi,
1. What is the type of system to be created in portal ?
This depends on what type of a system are you trying to connect to. If it's an ECC system or R3 system, you may use SAP system using dedicated application server. Give an alias to it and check the permissions of that system.
2. What is the configuration need to be done in Universal Worklist & Workflow ?
You have register this system now. Go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist Administration -> UWL Configuration -> Chose New -> Enter the Name, System Alias and select WebFlowConnector.
In the System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist Administration -> Registration for all types of Universal Worklist WebFlow, register item types by clicking "Register Item types for all systems". Alternatively, you can also click on "Register items types for new systems".
3. Any other configurations need to be done in WAS server and SAP server ?
The portal user should have corresponding user on the ECC or R3 system or whichever backend system you are trying to connect to. This user should be authorized to have RFC access to function group SWK1 and transaction SWK1.

Unexpected problem with Delete Workflow

G5 iMac, OS 10.4.3
I have been happily running a workflow called delete.files. It allowed me to do a 35-pass delete of sensitive files (financial data) at the click of a mouse in the contextual menu.
Suddenly, it would no longer work, so I deleted it and moved a copy from my last backup of a week ago.
The backup copy would not work either. Drat!
This .workflow file was in the...
"/Users/Me/Library/Workflows/Applications/Finder"
...folder and thus appeared in the contextual menu. Very convenient, just a mouse click away.
Went back to <http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/automator/deletefilesaction.html> and downloaded it again. Ran the Delete Files Installer and it placed a files.action file in the "/Users/Me/Library/Automator/Delete Files.action" folder.
For the live of me, I forget how to change this .action file into a .workflow file so I can move it to the...
"/Users/Me/Library/Workflows/Applications/Finder" folder
...and have access to it via a right click.
Anyone know how???

I am going to answer my own post because I solved the problem and wan to wind this up with a response in case anyone runs across this same problem.
I did a few searches on my G3 iBook and my G5 iMac (that was having the problem) and discovered this :
G3 had delete.files in ~/Library/Automator folder
G5 did not
Copied the delete.files from the G3 to the G5 and put in in the
~/Library/Automator folder
Logged out/in and now that Workflow works just perfectly. Have no idea how that delete.files file got deleted.

Problem logging into Workflow Designer

here is my problem. Workflow 7.0 is installed on W2k3 EE (with Forms and Form Manager) via turnkey installation ( and is on Jboss of course). I've got four other computers in domain. All with XP. And only from one i can login into Workflow Designer. All computers has access to server (with workflow installed), and to server with AD. Workflow is integrated with LDAP (i see new users added in AD after synchronization). And the problem is: that i can log into workflow designer only from one computer. And on all users that have process developer rights i can also log (on that one and only computer). On all other computers i got the following error:

i compared the size of workflow designer on my machine and on other and
EUREKA, they are different, also i got some extra directories in workflow designer directory (but this is because of using janel trick), so i copy all extra directories and workflow designer exe to other machines and now it's working.

Problem with oracle workflow builder 2.6.3.5

I have installed oracle workflow server 2.6.3 on a oracle 10G 10.2.0.1 in Red Hat linux Enterprise 4L and I have Oracle workflow builder 2.6.3.5 on Microsoft Windows XP Service pack 2
I have the following error when i try to save or open and itemtype from the database
1005: Language is not populated, please refers to Workflow documentation for steps on populating a language.
How can i solve this i've alredy changed the NLS_LANG to match with the server
In the server the language is set to American and in the NLS_LANG i have set like this AMERICAN_AMERICA.US7ASCII

Siebel Problem With a Workflow Process (Pleaseee help REAL PROBLEM)

Well the problem is this i have a designed a workflow who is called by a JOB. Its functionality is to close Service Requests at certain time in the night.
when i simulate a workflow against 2 different Servers it works fine without errors, but when i run a job that calls this WP in those servers i have diferent errors in diferent steps.
In one server i have this kind of error in the last step "Cerrar Requerimiento":

3. Last but not least this BCH EAI Query Utility search spec is it correct ? Can it able to return at least one record base on you're search spec because I know some business service are required to return at least one record else it will throw error.

Problem linking business workflow with ad-hoc request

Hi All,
I have a problem in creating a subprocess from a business workflow in UWL. Usually when you create a new ad-hoc request it will pop up an information saying that there is a subsequent process running.
But if i create the ad-hoc approval request from an existing business workflow (r/3 workflow) it will not give you this confirmation. Thus when i try to approve or reject it will give me an error message, because it can't find the parent task.
Has anyone knows how to fix this? Are we missing some configuration here then the standard UWL configuration? Do we have to install collaboration feature to make this function work? If yes, then how do we know if we have it in our portal, i mean how to look for it? because i'm continuing someone elses work so i don't know what has been installed.

When "Advance routing" is used for Task assignment; the task service asserts the folllowing fact types : Task, PreviousOutcome and TaskAction to the rules engine. These facts gives all the reqd info about the task (like outcome of the participant, task stage .. etc)
Now in the defined ruleset; we can have rules as per our requirement that can extract info from the asserted fact types and assign task to the required/next participant.
Also note that we write the advance rules for exception cases only.
For example; let's say all participants have 2 possible Outcomes [COMPLETE, RECHECK]. We have defined the ideal task routing flow as :
Participant A -> Participant B -> Participant C. This is the flow when all participant selects "COMPLETE"
Now suppose B selects outcome as "RECHECK" then the task shld move back to A. So for this case only we need to write a advance rule.

Problem in CUP workflow-Stage configuration

Dear all,
We are facing a problem in workflow path. The workflow for create user has got 2 stage approval. In the first stage the approval type is "All approver" and the CAD for this stage is defined on the basis of business process of the role. So if few roles are added to a user belonging to different business process, the request is forwarded to all the approvers of stage 1. However even if all the approvers of that stage has approved the request, but still the request is showing as "pending for other approvers" and not getting forwarded to the next stage. But if I change the configuration to "Any one approver", the request is forwarded to next stage after approval by any one approver.

Hi Nitin,
I guess you have made CAD on the basis of business process of role.
Check that one again that all approvers are approving the request.
if in the request has two role Role 1, Role2
Role 1 has Business Process BP1,
Role 2 has Business Process BP2.
BP1 in CAD has APP1, APP2 approvers
BP2 in CAD has APP3, APP4 approvers.
Then for that CAD stage with setting all approver's.
APP1, APP2, APP3, APP4 has to approve the request.
Please make sure all approvers are approving.
Also try to change the setting for Approval Level ( Role/Request ) in the stage.

Problem with cproject workflow

hi all,
i have created one workflow which will be treaged when i will release any task from the browser. when i will release this task my project should be released. (this is only for testing ) my workflow is working fine but it is releasing after 3-4 hrs. can anybody tell me that why it is taking so much time? it might be problem with some basis/system settings.so plz basis ppl also look at it and try to help me.

wow!, thats sounds really strange.
I propose you set up an example and open an OSS call.
The cpro guys from SAP should have a lok at this and provide a fix.
But if you release a task, the workflow is started as soon as you save or do you reenter the project directly?
There exists a kind of event handler BADI_EVENT, where you can control field changes.
In your case to release the task and need the release of the upper project. I don't like this process, but why not.
One possibility is making a small modification. As soon as task is released, we release all subtasks too. So it can make sense to release the project too.
I guess 3 lines of coding are required, but where
Please try the BADI DPR_EVENT oder the DPR_ATTRIBUTES and in the SET DATA routine, try to set the project release information.

Document Distribution DMS, problem with standard workflow WS20000104

Hi,
In our document distribution process we stacked with the problem, when we run the document distribution (via tcode CVI8) we got the error of workflow WS20000104. After some search at SCN we found that there is the similar issue, described in the thread: Document distribution workflow in error. Solution which was offered and marked as worked is to enable/activate Result Parameter check box, but in our case this check box is disabled and when we try to edit the BOR in order to activate Result Parameter check box the system asked to input Access Code.
Is there any way (note) to enable this check box without access code?

In transaction SWU3 there is the following situation:
Maintain Runtime Environment is completely green, including sub-categories;
Maintain Definition Environment is red because of Check Entries from HR Control Tables;
Maintain Additional Settings and Services is red because of Maintain Web Server;
Classify Tasks as General is completely green, including sub-categories;
Guided Procedures is red because of Maintain Guided Procedures Gateway.
Could you, please, explain what do you mean under «workflow settings are activated», how parameters described above are related to workflow and may be related to our problem?
If described situation can be assumed as activated, what should we do now? Otherwise, how to make these settings to be activated?
