Problems in Adobe Reader when I open a pdf file

I have problems in Adobe Reader when I open a pdf file, the menu bar appears blank without options and when I pass the mouse over the bar she disappears. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader and to no avail. Could anyone help in this case.

On March 5th, I started getting the Adobe Reader error message "Adobe Reader could not open a pdf file because it is either not supported file type or the file has been damaged.
I get this when I try to open the pdf file as an attachment in Outlook 2013 from my G-Mail account. If I save the attachment and then try to open the pdf document, I get the same error4.
I get this error message with every pdf file that now comes to me in Outlook.
If I log on to my G-Mail I am able to open the pdf document. If I also save the attachment to my computer, I do not get the error message when I open the pdf file. This would suggest the file is okay
This would lead me to believe the problem maybe with Outlook.
I'm using Adobe Reader XI v11.0.10
I'm using Windows 8.1
Is anyone encountering this same issue with outlook?

I copied it again. Do you see it? BTW, how do I set privacy? (I'm new at this)

Sorry, I cannot post a URL to the file because it is for intenal use only.
I noticed that the pdf file can be opened outside of IE browser if I disable the Adobe Reader add-on (active-X) in IE browser. If I enable the Reader add-on, the Reader cannot complete the file download. The progress bar goes in a half way, and stays there.
Just FYI, the pdf file was created by Distiller 7. Do you think it is the issue of Reader add-on? Thanks.

Closing the tools pane at the right side:
open Adobe Reader without opening a PDF file
collapse 'Tools' pane
then open some PDF
It shouldn't hang anymore

One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).

Why does Adobe Reader XI set my keyboard to display NUMBERS ONLY when I open a .pdf file?

WHEN I OPEN A .pdf document using ADOBE READER 11.0.2 BEHAVIOR is described BELOW. I CANNOT BE MORE COGENT.
It occurs both within Adobe Reader functions, such as page printing options, and in all APPLICATIONS (Gmail, Word, etc) once I close .pdf document.
SOLUTION: I MUST POWER DOWN/UP EACH TIME I USE ADOBE READER. THIS IS IDIOCY.
1. Keyboard appears RESET to display numbers ONLY, and numbers displayed to DO NOT CORRESPOND to numbers I TYPE.
AFTER ADOBE READER IS CLOSED I type "A" into say, an email address field and a random number, say, "9" appears in the field not an "A".
WHILE IN ADOBE READER I type "23" into the .pdf "go to page" field, and get other numbers completely.
Happens ONLY when I open a .pdf file with Adobe Reader 11.0.2 (XI).
Both behaviors occur whether I open a download .pdf file or attempt to open a .pdf via search engine Google + my Browsers.
2. Operating System = Windows 7.
3. My Browser = Internet Explorer 9 or Mozilla Foxfire; behavior is identical on either. Search engine used is Google.

From my project I download pdf file. PDf file download in particular directory is successfully.
But when I open that PDF then I got Error Message.
"Adobe Reader could not open 'XYZ.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example. it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). "
so what's problem? how can fix this bug?

Is the downloaded file a valid PDF file? Just by naming something *.PDF does not make it a PDF file.

I coach youth soccer and use a PDF template to save my sessions in. Today I got this message when trying to open one of my sessions.

I have a website that holds 23 different PDF's. They all download fine and open correctly when downloading from a Mac computer. They even download and open fine from a Mobile Phone. However my client is getting an error over and over again. I have tested it out and this is what I have come up with.

I have resaved the PDF's to be compatible with Reader 6.

Just installed InDesign. I can "EXPORT" a PDF, but cannot "PRINT" a PDF. Error message says: "Adobe Reader could not open your PDF because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged. That looks like a perfectly good PDF, but since it's trying to open in Microsoft Word, that means your file association for .pdf files is incorrect. You should change it to point to Adobe Reader instead of Word.
