Problems in general usage and syncing

I am having problems both ways with my iPod. In the usage part, my iPod will show that I have songs uploaded on it, but when I choose to listen to it it will just kick me back to the main menu. Also in several instances when something is supposed to have cover art associated with it, it will show the wrong artwork. When it comes to syncing it to my computer, it will not update and gives me a -50 Error. I have tried deauthorizing my computer and restoring my iPod to its factory settings. Any help is appreciated.

Have confidence in your own experience. Those who do have problems are (rightly) loud in their complaints. With 4.0 it was more than expected, now with 4.1 it's much less, almost down to normal.
As for Book, I have lost more than one book, but it is a rare problem and very difficult to pin down (even for someone like me who knows LR and Book well and would normally expect to have a good chance of figuring out where the problem lies). On the other hand, I don't think the risk of losing books is so great that it prevents me from using this method . I just make duplicates of the book collection and change between books in Library (because I'm convinced that changing between books had sparked the problem). So if it's any encouragement to you, I think it's good enough to put my own time into it - only last week I unwrapped another book from Blurb.

Problem with memory usage and CPU usage

Hello,
i have a problem with the memory usage and cpu usage in my project!
My application must run for more than 24 hrs. The problem is that the longer it runs the bigger is the memory and cpu usage!
It starts with ~15% CPU usage and ~70 MBytes memory usage. After ~ 24hrs the CPU usage is ~60% and the memory usage is ~170 MBytes!
After 3 days the CPU usage is almost about 70% and the memory usage is about 360 MBytes!
What can I do to reduce this huge recource usage?

   I think the issue is memory usage, since CPU usage can increase due to greater memory requirements.
   Anyway, it's difficult to debug without seeing your code, can you post it (possibly for LV 7.1 compatibility)? Or just post a JPEG of the piece of code that can give problems...
   I guess you're appending data to an array instead of replace data elements, but I can't be sure...

Problem with Clip Usage and merged clips in CS6

The 'Clip Usage' drop-down menus don't seem to work in Premiere CS6 for merged clips. The info bar at the top of the project window correctly lists the number of times the viedo and audio from the clip has been used, and the downward-pointing arrow appears, but when you click on it... nothing happens. Same's true of the 'Video Usage' column in the main body of the project window. Non-merged clips work just fine.
Anyone know if this is just a problem with my project, or if it's a bug in Premiere? Had a lot of trouble with merged clips in CS5.5, and was hoping they'd be solved by CS6 - I've been using Creative Suite for a long time, and the lack of good merged clips support was always one of the challenges in persuading other indie editors to switch over from FCP...

I guess they just have to weigh that up against the lack of support they got from Apple for FCP in its entirety.

I have an iphone 3gs with iOS 6.1 in photos In have all my photos that are on my Mac now on my phone, which I do not want. How do I delete them. I have tried Image capture, settings, general, usage and most of the tips on communities NOTHING WORKS!!

I would like to decide what pictures I put on my phone and which ones to delete NOT APPLE. This as you can see has really annoyed me, if any APPLE employees read these posts I would like to know how to get rid of. The Photo library and all of the folders made on iPhoto on my iMac, OFF MY iPhone. Thank you

Deleting on one device does not affect another device.
You can delete the App's on the iPhone and nothing will happen to the ones on the iPad.
1. You don't need to.
2. Settings->Cellular->"Use Cellular Data For" will show the data usage for each App since the last statistics reset
3. Settings->General->Background App Refresh Will show which Apps are allowed to get data in the background
4. It restricts it to Wifi. If the App requires internet access and Data is turned off, it will have to wait until the device is connected to a wifi network.
5. Nope, You just use up battery since the BT radio will continuously look for nearby BT devices.
6. The Personal Hotspot uses your cellular internet connection from your phone or other cellular device; whether you consider that secure or not I cannot say. It also depends on what you are doing while connected to the Hotel's wifi. I would not do online banking while on vacation though.

Multiple problems with calendar, contacts, and syncing

(1) My iPhone is mis-labeling times in my calendar. For example, I received an invitation from a Windows user for a calendar that is synced to my iPhone. The time on my work desktop is for 10:30. The time that showed up on my iPhone was 11:30. Also, on a calendar I have on my Mac, a recurring appointment at 1:00 p.m. on Thursdays was mis-labeled in my iPhone for several different times--one at 2:00. One at 12:30.
(2) My iPhone is not pushing calendar events in either direction--either from my iPhone to my Mac or from my Mac to my iPhone. I think the same is true for Contacts, even though I have checked my settings and all are scheduled to push.
(3) I believe my Contacts are being deleted when I try to sync to my Mac with a wire.
Any help to any of these problems would be much appreciated.

Give this a try: Go to google.com Contacts and remove any numbers or symbols that are in a contact's name.

All of you who use the 80gb ipod classic and have problems with it freezing and syncing with itunes...well I have joined the club. This is a serious issue with apple and they need to correct it. I have tried everything to no avial.

This is beyond frustrating. I just wasted 70 dollars between a new battery and gas for my ipod 80gb classic. It was having major issues syncing and freezing with itunes. I tried everything possible and noticed that a lot of people have been having the same issues with their ipod classics as well. I must have restored it several times and now it just totally bit the dust. Now I have to shell out 130 dollars to send it in to apple to be rebuilt/fixed. This is nonsense and I just cant believe apple isn't doing anything to address this issue. My ipod was doing great for about nearly 5 years and now this. I even down-graded to itunes 10.7, but by the time I had it set up to try, that's when my ipod totally failed and will not even come on. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

Photoshop Premiere 9 vs 13? Are there any problems with CPU usage and crashing?

I stopped using Premiere, because they the computer would freeze and/or the program. I was curious if there was any issue with people currently using Version 13? I think I loaded it on this computer along with Photoshop Elements 9. After a while I just kept Photoshop Elements.

Windows 7 premium home edition
Processor Intel R Core TM i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30 GHz 2.30 GHz
Installed Memory 6.00GB 826 GB free

If 64 bit, while 9 will be a 32 bit application with the limitations of a 32 bit application on 64 bit system, 13 will be a 64 bit application which translates into more computer resources available to 13.
Elements Organizer 9 will not integrate with Elements Organizer 13 although you can convert the 9 catalog in Elements Organizer 13. And there is a marked difference in the workspace between the two versions. Principles tend to stay the same, but features can be moved, changed, or discontinued.
I would have expected Premiere Elements 9/9.0.1 to have worked in your computer environment. Since it did not, I would strongly suggest that you look at the free 30 days tryout of Premiere Elements 13/13.1 in your computer environment to assure the compatibility of it with your computer environment and project goals.

a. Conflicts with antivirus program.
b. Problem with video card graphics card
c. Use of a pen and table device instead of mouse
d. Problematic source media and format conflicts
e. Not running program as Administrator
f. Poor installation
g. Failure to install QuickTime along with Premiere Elements on the computer
h. Not meeting System Requirements in some way.

Problems with backing up and syncing?

I accidentally removed my iPhone while updating it.
When I plugged it back in it asked if I wanted to restore it.
I did and when iTunes started to restore my phone to my last back up, it won't work.
It won't go into back up mode, it says backing up on the top of my iTunes screen but beside of it is a scrolling bar.
I clicked the X to stop the backing up but nothing happened.
Any help is appreciated.

I checked the USB and it all looks alright. I tried syncing again and got told:
"An error occured while reading from this device"
which is the normal one i get.

Having problems with recovery mode and syncing my phone.

I am trying to download a game from the App Store but it says i have insufficient memory even though the app is only 1.7gb and I currently have 3.5gb in unused space?

The 1.7GB is the download file compressed size (like .zip or .dmg). When the file is installed/uncompressed it can be 2-3 times larger.
How much space is your Other using? You may be able to reduce.

You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

Settings- General- Usage

Under Settings->General->Usage, it shows 27.7GB Used. Adding up the usage for all apps, the total is 7.8GB. What the discrepancy and is the another method for accurately determining what is using the storage?

Battery life and "Usage" and "Standby"

I checked the info under General > Usage and the "Usage" and "Standby" are exactly the same, which I am assuming means it is not really turning off when I am not using it. Is there a fix so my battery doesn't deplete in 8 hours?

Funny thing is, just after I posted what I thought was a solution, my phone blackscreened. An hour previously battery was sitting at 52 percent. There was a sudden plunge after I set up emails to my 4S.
After an hour on the charger, nothing. Screen still black. I called my reseller, who talked me through hooking it up to iTunes, which didn't recognise the phone at all.
We scheduled a service call for this morning with a view to to replace the phone as the tech said there was some kind of issue with it. He was adamant that iTunes should have recognised the device and synched it even if the battery was drained.
Meanwhile, an hour or so later, the 4s, which I'd placed back on the charger just to see whether it was a battery issue, jangled back to life. It took two hours to resuscitate and another half hour to creep back up to 62 percent. Lost 10 percent in standby overnight and is now back on charger to get it up to 100 percent. Weird.

If they are Tunes purchased music you have to sing into the account that purchased them.
Is this the iTunes library/computer you sync with? You can rally only "sync" with one iTunes library/computer.However, yo can manually manage music and videos among different libraries/computer. See the manual method of:

Problem with iTunes and sync'n Contacts

I'm a new user to the iPod and iTunes in general. Unfortunately I've encountered a few problems with putting contacts on my iPod. I have the new video 5th generation iPod and Microsoft Outlook 2003, however when I try and sync the contacts to the iPod - iTunes closes with the message 'iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close'. The error signature offset is '35f76ad2'. I have absolutely no idea what this means.
I have tried manually moving the contacts from Outlook to my iPod but this doesn't take the pictures with it.
I also tried installing a version of iTunes prior to 7.0.0 until I realised my iPod could only use version 7 or later.
Can someone please help - even if it's just contact information for Apple to help me out!

This report is run every month without any problems.
Work Around: had end user cancel and resubmit request. Again taking awhile, it is still running.

are u using lower than 11.5.10.2, then i think you need to raise an SR with Oracle.
Sometime back my client experinces this and raised an SR with Oracle ,and what i understood there is missing index on one of the underline table
