Problems printing PDF in landscape

I had this same issue with Illustrator just after I upgraded my OS to 10.6.5. When printing my PDF with my saved settings for my printer, it now ignores these settings. This literally just happened this morning with Acrobat (is still happening with Illustrator). I printed the same PDF doc yesterday (200 copies) and all was fine. I upgraded nothing overnight and thought by upgrading Acrobat to 9.4.1, it would help. It did not. I'm printing to a Richo Aficio MP C6000.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Rachel

It looks like an Apple/Adobe/CUPS bug.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.

Just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and am having problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.  Printing other PDF created by MS Word works well.  Had a similar problem in an earlier version of Pro.  The fix I figure out then was to print the PDF file as another PDF.  Using the second PDF to print to a plotter typically worked.  It does not work for Adoabe Acrobat Pro XI.

  • Problems printing PDF's using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

During the last two weeks, I have been unable to print a PDF from my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. They appear okay on the screen, but print as gibberish.
After consulting the forums, one workaround suggested was to print as image. Tried it, also prints gibberish.
Another suggestion to update my printer software, did it. Still prints as gibberish. My priner is an Epston Stylus Photo R220.
I'm a writer, not a software technician. I am not using a bootleg copy of the program, but an educational version, so Adobe won't offer me any advice over the phone without payment.
Anything else I could try before paying?

I have same problem as described above, but not always.  Seems to depend on the web page I am trying to print to Adobe. One consistent culprit is Bank of America.  Looks okay until I print to Adobe Acrobat 9 or 10. Then it's gibberish.  i had to copy to Word and then print Word to Acrobat or printer.
    . Various computers,
. same problem with either Acrobat 9 or 10.
. Not a problem printing to Acrobat from a Word or Excel or Outlook document
. Only from certain websites and not the entire page, only the OCR part. The objects: logos, pictures are okay, only text is messed up.
Definitely would like Adobe to fix this.

  • Problems printing PDF from HP Laserjet

    HI,
I had no problems printing any PDF from my HP Laserjet 200. It was working fine no matter where the PDF came from (USB, straight from the web, from an email, etc). But the other day it just decided it won't do it anymore. When I try I receive an error message on my computer and my printer freezes up. Any suggestions????

"An error message" really doesn't tell us much...
Also, your operating system, Reader version, etc. would help.

I also have problems with the scanner of the HP LaserJet M1005 MFP; I cant scan docuemnts; don't have the option.

Hi vhcarmona, have you tried printing a PDF from Preview? And what error messages, if any are you getting from Adobe Acrobat Reader? Have you updated all printer drivers? Also is this a resent problem? Like after an update or upgrade.

  • Problem printing PDF picture files imported from JPG using HP Colour InkJet cp1700 printer

When I print PDF picture files imported from JPG using an HP Colour InkJet cp1700 printer, the picture spills over.  A wide range of other PDF files print OK.  Have tried things such as configuring the printer to scale to letter size, etc,, but without success.  Have a Windows 7 64 bit computer and Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.5.5.  Any ideas?

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @rt70
I understand you're having some issues with printing PDF files from a website on Windows 7.
I would personally suggest trying to print from that website using a different web browser. If you're using Internet Explorer, try FireFox or Chrome, for example.
You can also try running the Print and Scan Doctor tool, that will search and try and fix printing issues.
If you have any issues that continue, please let me know what they are and which programs, websites, and web browsers you have tried, along with the results from running the diagnostic tool above.
Good luck and have a great day

  • Problem printing pdf documents created by ps2pdf

When I try to print pdf documents that have been created from ps documents by ps2pdf, the output is corrupted. Many letters are missing but included graphics are printed just fine. This happens with my HP printer and with cups-pdf, when I print the pdf document to a new pdf document. There are no errors in the logs, so I don't know what is goning wrong. On a windows PC, the pdf documents are printed correct too. Other pdf documents, created by pdflatex are printed correct.
If I don't use ps2pdf and print the ps document directly, the output is correct. I have tried different pdf-viewers without any difference. About half a year ago, everything was working fine, so could it be related to : "As of version cups 1.5.3-3 ArchLinux makes use of the new full pdf-based printing workflow."?

    Flo,
In my limited experience with the iOS iWork apps, they weren't designed for those who are picky about the layout. They are highly automatic and if you don't like the result, it's not easy to override. If the format when printed leaves unpleasant margins, I think your best approach is to reshape the tables in such a way that they will better fit the target media. If you are having large top margin, make the tables narrower, then when they scale to fit the paper, then may fill it better.

  • Unable to print PDF with landscape orientation

This print problem seems to be unique only to Mac when printing a PDF from Acrobat or Reader. All the pages come out in portrait (tall) orientation when the doc orientation is landscape and all the print setup is checked for landscape printing. I have a Xerox Phaser 7760DX printer. I can print the same doc without any issue via my pc, but cannot print landscape via my Mac, which makes me wonder if this is an Acrobat or Xerox issue. I did already update to latest Phaser 7760DX driver, but still same result. Thank you in advance for your advice.

Dont know the answer, but getting auto email notifications which I want stopped. Anyone know how? (I'm getting them from a bunch of messages)
    Thanks

  • Re: Problem Printing PDF

I hope someone can help me out. I have downloaded a PDF of the instructions for Junior Monopoly from the following link
    http://www.hasbro.co.uk/downloads/Hasbr … ctions.pdf
I can open the file BUT I simply cannot get it to print out correctly.
My setup is ARCH using a PHOTOSMART P1000 printer connected directly to the PC.
I have tried to use the following software:
    Acroread
    XPDF
    KPDF
    Ghostview
The problem is that the PDF shows  as Landscape orientation BUT however I try it always prints out portrait with half of the test missing.
I guess that I must be missing something obvious, but have been trying for 2 days now. I know I should just leave it and move on BUT it is really bugging me that I cannot get this to print out straight.
I have also tried on a LASERJET 4 from ARCH and it has the same problem
I have not tried printing this out from WINDOWS yet.
    TIA,
    Mudra:(

Thank you for your ideas. I will try them when I get back home later today. I have tried printing directly from firefox in windows and that has worked fine with the work Laser printer. (I am more and more confused).
I kept trying last night and I believe the fundamental problem is getting the Photosmart P1000 to print landscape !! I have been using the recommended driver; but perhaps I should try one of the others.

  • Problem printing pdfs exported from IDCS3 to hp color laserjet 2550L

Since upgradingn to IDCS3, whenever I print a pdf exported from ID to my hp color laserjet 2550L, the graphics print with a red overlay and other colors change as well (black type prints brown, blue prints maroon). If I print the file to a .ps file, then distill it, I don't have the problem. If possible, I prefer to export because it's quicker. Is there a fix to this?
    Thanks in advance!

Check the HP site for a newer driver for your printer.

  • Same problem printing pdf but with a twist

I am having the same problem as others have described in not being able to print certain pdf documents.  I have tried all of the suggest "fixes" including uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat XI Pro. (I am on a Windows 7 Professional system).  The twist is that if I open the pdf on my Ipad I can print it from there - just not on my windows based PC.  Now what?????

    Hi Paul,

  • Problem printing PDF with Acrobat Pro 9.4.4

    Hi!
I can't correctly print a PDF with Acrobat Pro that was created in Indesign CS5.
I want to print it on a letter format (8,5 X 11") and it offers me a format of 8,49 X 10,99". It results in having my document being printed as tile with it's original format 12 X 21,5" as if I didn't adjust the format to be reduced.
I temporary used Preview to print my PDF, but now I can't as the encoding in which I received the PDF used to be "Creo Normalizer JTP" and now it is "Adobe PDF Library 9.9"
    If anyone can help!
This is my first time here, thanks in advance for your help

Here's what it looks like (I work in french, hope you can understand)
I just updated my software, thanks for that!
Now, my problem is still on... I still have the very same result when I print. I did selected the correct Page Scalling I needed. I did selected the paper size I wanted. I chose Shrink to Printable Area and I tried with Fit to Printable Area.
Since I've had this problem the size appears as : 8,49 X 10,99 (Instead of 8,5 X 11). I tried with Legal (8,5 X 14) but it appears as 8,49 X 13,99. I went through the preferences, but I can't find anything that could be the problem.
    Any other idea?
    Thanks!!
Also, Preview was very helpful, as it did print my PDF correctly! I understand it's not the best... but it did the job

  • Problem printing PDF from BPM Studio ?

I'm using JasperReports to try to print a PDF from BPM Studio 10.3.2
I have tried many ways but always get the same problem:
    Caused by: com.lowagie.text.pdf.PdfWriter.setRgbTransparencyBlending(Z)V
    Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.lowagie.text.pdf.PdfWriter.setRgbTransparencyBlending(Z)V
I added all the needed jars as external resources and catalog them as Java components.
Anyone dealed with this issue before?
    Thanks in advance!
    /Patricio
ps: sorry for my english, but isn't my native language.

Actually, Word 2013 supports opening of PDF files and creating Word documents from same. The problem is that for anything other than very simple PDF files, the conversion is wonky at best!
The popup mentioned by “bannerman” is definitely not an Adobe Reader message, but possibly an annotation of something generated by JavaScript.

  • Problems printing pdfs generated by Crystal Reports X

The printers in our office area were recently upgraded to Xerox Work Centre 5632 printers using Managed Print Service.  We are now having issues printing reports from within the application to any of these newly defined printers.  The Arial font, which is commonly used on the majority of our report templates, is displaying as a series of squares with readable letters or numbers thrown in randomly.   I don't know if the issue is limited to Arial, or if other fonts behave similarly.  I have tried to print several different reports to several different print servers and printer combinations, all with the same result. When viewing the report online, or saving as PDF and viewing, it looks fine.  If we save the report as a PDF, then select "print as an image" (on the advanced tab of the print menu), the report will print correctly.
Is there any way to either change the report design or a setting in Crystal Reports to prevent this from happening ? This problem did not occur when using a different printer.

This is not a Crystal Reports issue.  It is a printer (or printer driver) issue.  Does the printer support Arial font???
