Problems receiving mail from exchange after upgrading to Mavericks
After upgrading to Mavericks I am having issues receiving e-mail. Activity doctor says I am connected to Exchange server but Mail.app won't donwload e-mail. I have heard this is an issue on OS X Mavericks. Any idea on how to solve this?
I solved the problem by disabling all Internet Accounts in the System Preference and re-enabling them one by one. I found that a few settings crashed the Mail app., mainly for those Microsoft Exchange accounts. I deleted them and set them up again then it works fine now. No more crash when I open the Mail app. Hope this procedure helps those with similar problems, too.

You can try Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database

Problem with mail for exchange after update on E72...
Hi everyone,
I updated Nokia E-mail to ver 3.9 on E72. Now I am facing a problem with mail for exchange. I have configured gmail on mail for exchange. I recieve a warning that "unable to sync contact administrator if problem persist". It started to pop up just after the update was over and is very frustrating. Even previously i used to recieve mails instantly but now it generally takes half an hour for me to recieve them. I deleted and created mail for exchange several times but to no avail.
Also i am not able to automatically recieve mails other emails which i have configured. every time I have to manually download them everytime.
Can anybody suggest a way out.

I was on a Pay & Go tariff with o2 some time ago, and needed secure connections for various things, o2 told me they didn't provide secure connections on Pay & Go tariffs...

I've got a Thunderbolt Display that I use with my Macbook Air (mid 2012) - usually in clamshell mode.
When I let the computer go to sleep, and then wake it up by clicking the mouse, the monitor turns back on but the colors are washed out and purple looking.
The display goes back to normal when I unplug and replug it to my laptop.
I first noticed this problem after upgrading to Mavericks.

WillSame thing for me too. Late 2012 13" MBP Retina. I have to unplug the Thunderbolt cable and plug it back in.
This has only started for me in the last two days. The first two weeks of Mavericks was ok.
Update: I just got back from a trip. I was using the laptop separate from the Thunderbolt display. I hadn't restarted since I returned and connected the monitor. I've just rebooted, and put the computer to sleep. After resuming from sleep, the display is ok. Maybe try rebooting? I'll update if it continues. -
Problem with the "from" field after upgrading to IOS 7
Dear list members,
For years I have been using multiple e-mail accounts with my iPhone 4 without any trouble. However, after I upgraded to IOS 7, a strange bug is happening.
When I try to send an e-mail from my iPhone, using my iCloud account, to another person or another account of mine, every time I type an address in the "to" field, the "from" field changes automatically to some of my other accounts (most of them from Google). Then I have to correct the "from" field every time, which is very annoying.
Is there a way to solve this bug?
Thank you for your attention.I have a similar problem, using iPhone 4 and iPad 3. I can connect to the iPhone hotspot (iPhone show the blueish bar on top of its screen and says 1connection is active). So far so good, BUT, the iPad gets no symbol (the chain showing its linked) nor internet access. Sometimes the symbol comes but still no internet. By resetting the iPhones network settings I get it to work immidiately after, but after putting my iPad to sleep there will be the same issue over again. Please come up with a solution. Maybe I need to restore both devices? I don't like the idea though. It just works, huh?!?!?

E-mail from Apple after upgrading to IOS 6
I upgraded my iPad 2 to IOS 6. I later got an e-mail from Apple saying: "Your Apple ID was used to sign into iCloud on an iPad 2. If you have not recently set up an iPad with your Apple ID, then you should change your Apple ID password". Did anyone else get that message after upgrading?
Thanks for the reply deggie. It's a pretty strange e-mail to receive. I have to assume it is directly connected to the upgrade, and was not sent as a result of my account being hacked?!

Problem waking up from sleep after upgrading to Maverics
My Mac mini have a problem waking up from sleep.
I can see and move the mousepointer but the rest is black.
This problem started after upgrading to Maverics.
I have to restart to get back on track...

Having issues receiving mail from exchange account
I have 3 iPhone customers that are having issues with recieiving mail from their exchange accounts. The only time their emails come to their phones is when they actually has Outlook open on their computers. If Outlook is NOT open on the computers none of them not recieve emails on their phones. I have checked the settings on each of their phones and everything looks to be configured correctly. Any ideas, suggestion? Could this be a exchange server side issue?

Most, if not all internet service providers block the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network or that isn't provided by the ISP being used for your internet connection at the time. Your iPhone's carrier is no exception when connected to the internet with your carrier's network.
Do you know if the account's SMTP server is authenticated with a user name and password just as the incoming mail server for the account is authenticated? -
IMAP Mail Trash broken after upgrading to Mavericks
Hi,
after upgrading an iMac from latest 10.8 to 10.9 Mail.app doesnt use the trash folder on imap correctly.
It displays the trash folder separately; the "global" trash folder doesn't contain anything.
When deleting an email it is moved to the trash folder like it should be.
Any idea how to fix this?In the left panel that appears after clicking Show, I only had Inbox, Flagged, Sent, Trash, Archive, On My Mac, and my name. After hovering on my name "Show" appeared. I clicked on Show and all the mail boxes appeared. Problem solved

Problem in Mail 4.2 after upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard
After the OS upgrade and software updates I realize that both my gmail and my hotmail accounts are not accessible from Mail 4.2. Furthermore, whenever I open Mail 4.2 there is not any windows pop up. And there is no option to add a mail account. This is driving me crazy in the last a couple of weeks.
Not sure what you mean by no window pop ups. However, as for adding accounts, click on "Mail" in the menubar, select 'preferences...' click on 'accounts' on left side bottom corner click on the '+' sign to add account.

Not getting all e-mails from Exchange server w/ OS Mavericks
Hello all,
After I installed OS Mavericks and opened up the mail app, only a small portion of my inbox (and other folders) populates in the app. Instead of all 50 e-mails in my inbox it is only showing 8. Looking back at my inbox on my iPhone and it still has all my e-mails. Is there anyway to fix this?
Thanks..I'm having the same issue and have tried deleting the account and adding again but I only have emails that came in yesterday after Mavericks installed. My thousands of emails from the server did not load. They are everywhere else but on the updated Mavericks computer.

I've had the very same frustrating issue. I think I may have cured it (for now!) this is what I did:
I would advise that you copy and paste any signatures that you have created into Pages or Word or something so you don't have to create them from scratch again, unless you wish to.
• Quit Mail
• Go to ~/{user_name}/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Signatures
• Check to see if any of the '.mailsignature' files are locked
• If they are locked 'Get Info' (cmd+i) for each of them and unlock them
• Re-open Mail and navigate to the Signature preferences pane - (cmd+,)
• your saved signature will have default text with your name and email address so you may need to recreate the signature but as the file can now be written to it SHOULD be saved
• I tested by restarting my Mac and creating a new message and my signature was there

Cannot receive mail from .Mac account on port 143
I use my laptop at work. I used to have a 12" Powerbook G4 running OS X 10.4.3. I had no problem receiving mail from my .Mac account. Now, and all of a sudden, I can no longer receive my .Mac mail using the Mail app. The error I get is:
The server "mail.mac.com" refused to allow a connection on port 143.
I called AppleCare about this issue last night and they told me to perform the following steps:
1. Choose .Mac in System Preferences and delete my username and password from the Account tab.
2. Move com.apple.mail.plist and the Mail folder from my ~/Library folder to the desktop.
3. Restart the Mail app and re-import the Mail folder from the desktop. I was told not to directly copy the Mail folder from the desktop into the ~/Library folder.
4. Go back into .Mac in System Preferences and re-enter my account information.
According to AppleCare, things should now work. But there's a little problem with this "solution." I spoke with my network admin and he told me that incoming traffic on port 143 is blocked. That being the case, I fail to see how any of the above steps will solve my problem. It seems nothing more than an issue of trying to get my network admin to open port 143 and he seems reluctant to do that.

1) Rebooting my computer, then...
2) Following the instructions at the top of the following thread to re-create my email accounts (I had two):

Not sure what this fixed, and how I got into this issue in the first place.
I had four or five days worth of email to come in... it took...
...a...
...long...
...time...
But its looking like its working.
A few things I tried, and although they didn't have an immediate effect to fix the connection refused problem, they might have kicked something to start something working again:
1) Created a new 'test' user on the system, restarted, logged in as that user, and started Mail.app setting it up with .Mac settings (it was after this everything worked)
2) Changed SSL ports in the accounts settings (no difference)
3) Turned firewall on and off (no difference)
4) Attempted to use Thunderbird to read .Mac email as IMAP mailbox (didn't work)
Hope this rather obvious help helps anyone else

Apple ID changed and can't change back
So trying to set up iCloud it kept saying that I couldn't set it up and my email verrification had been sent, but it never was. So I read somewhere to change my apple id and try it and then change it right back. Well now I can't change my Apple ID
