Problems running Creative Suite over server?

When ever I am working on a project in any of the creative sutie programs (primarily InDesign, Illustrator, & photoshop), I am working on our office's server. I seem to have a lot of problems with this. The most frustrating/problamatic situation is when I go to save a photoshop file I might be working on, a pop-up appears saying I don't have permission to save, the file then disappears completely off our server, I then I have to resave as though this is is new file. Most of the time this is not such a big deal. But on occassion this will happen and our system will crash forcing us to shut down or quit photoshop. As photoshop has no recovery we essentially lose that file. Permanently. Now obviously we run time machine and can retrieve the file (usually) but not without a great deal of work lost.
Another problem we seem to run into is when we go to package an InDesign file it will crash the entire system if I try to package it to the server, but will be fine if I just package it to my desktop.
Our tech guy says this is a common problem, because "Adobe doesn't work very well running over a server". Is this true? Is there a work around or solution if it is? Because I find it hard to believe that the design community would put up with this. It's just a horrible way to do business.

Having a problem downloading Creative Suite

Ok, My computer needed to be wiped.
I need to re-install all of the Program files. None of this has been a problem until Creative Suite.
I go to my Acct. download the installer and I get an error.
"Error Writing to file C:/Users/myname/AppData/Local/ Akamai/admintool.exe
What is up?
Why have I not had this problem when installing other files?

The message is correct. You can only register a product once... there is no need to register again after you do it the first time. You can re-install and activate with the serial number, but there is no need to re-register.

How to run Creative Suite 3: license has expired

I get a message when I try to run Creative Suite 3 on a Mac mini that the license is out of date, so I can't run the program even though I installed it from the original disks. This seems abusrd to me. In any case someone at Adobe told me to go to this forum for a work-around. I hope there is one.
By the way, I was told by a person at Adobe support that CS3 will not run on Lion since Lion does not support Rosetta. Is there a work around for that? Lion seems awful to me at the present hour.

Problems installing Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium

I'm trying to install Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium on a new computer (Windows 7) from DVD's and receive an Installation Status message at the end of installation that says there were 2 fatal errors, 43 errors, and 43 warnings. It installs some of the programs, but doesn't install Illustrator, InDesign, or Flash Catalyst. I've tried installing four times and received the same message each time. I've verified with Adobe Customer Support that I'm using the correct serial number code. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Problem Deploying Creative Suite 5.5 to Windows 7 64 Bit

Hi,
I`ve been looking into deploying CS 5.5 Design Premium to our teaching machines for the last few days now.
Finding it very difficult to get the suite to deploy.
Have used the Application Manager Enterprise Edition to package the software and then put this on our network.
I`m then using windows group policy to deploy the software to our workstations.
Unfortuantely io`m finding that the install is constantly failing.
Looking at the log files I`m finding entries like these. What do you suggest?

I'm also trying to deploy the package in an Education environment. So far we've worked out that the path tends to eat up quite a length and ideally should be reduced. Out deployment tool at the moment is Altiris, and there's a call in with them to fix a specific problem with that.
As a result we copy the package locally and install it from a slightly shorter directory structure. Also of note - to deploy and run the package:
You'll need to SHIM the java.cpl files and Adobe Extension manager exe, using the Application Compatibility Toolkit from Microsoft (or google Manifest + Windows 7). The SHIM fix you're looking for is RunAsInvoker as far as I can work out.
Unfortunately the package we've created still doesn't deploy 100%, the set-up.dat file deep inside the package seems to work and starts creating shortcuts etc but then fails at some point later in the installation. We're still investigating what's gone wrong as it then rolls everything back.

Problems with Creative Suite Design Premium.

Does Freative Suite Design Premium 3 work on Window 7 Pro 64 bit?

I initially installed Creative Suite 3 Design Premium on my PC with Windows 7 64 Bit Home which was upgraded to Professional in December last year so the full prgramme has been running fine until the evening of May 13th then on Monday 14th nothing would open. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times but with no success. Photoshop open but with a windows error message then closes down no other programme will open. I have tried installing without acrobat as it always seemed to want a Vista dll which I have never had ( having said that it will install on it's own after cancelling the vista request box and runs okay). I tried various suggestions from a helpful person on the Adobe chat helpline but then someone else withdrew the compalint saying that CSD 3 did not work with 64 bit which is patently untrue as it had been running successfully for over a year, but suggesting I buy an upgrade. I am quite happy with CSD3 for the moment but given the sudden failure this proposal did make me wonder if soome Adobe upgrade that has come throgh is interferring with 64 bit systems perhaps to get people to upgrade. I would hope not!
In any case perhaps you can let me know how I submit a formal complaint to Adobe as there does not seem to be a function to do so. I have spent a significant amount of money for this prgramme and I expect it to work.
So CDS 3 does work with 64 bit the question is why should it stop now? Intriguing but extremely frustrating.

Best Optimization settings on my PC for running Creative Suite programs?

Hi, I just downloaded the Creative Suite on my PC. I am afraid the my PC is not currently set for best optimization for running programs such as Photoshop and After Effects. While working in After Effects I had problems with pixelated images. I'm working with a Lenovo (IBM), Intel (R) Pentium (R) CPU G2030 3.00 GHZ Processor, 4.00 gb of RAM (3.90 available currently), 64 bit OS, x64 based processor. I know it's not the ideal system, but I don't use it for anything else but the Creative Suite. Any suggestions besides pitching it and purchasing a mac?

I have a huge problem uninstalling Creative Suite 2

I am using Windows XP. I uninstalled creative suite in the add/remove programs and the programs are still on my computer and running.
How do I uninstall this suite if there is no other way to uninstall under add/remove programs?
I am so perplexed over this.

Problem installing Creative Suite CS4, major help needed

Basically I need help asap because I uninstalled my previous versions of PS etc to install this and work has to be done.
I installed the "Adobe Creative Suite 4 Master Collection" yesterday without problems, but then something happened to my machine last night which forced me to do a system restore.
I restored and the suite was no longer installed, since then I have had many problems trying to install it again.
It keeps getting up to about 5/8 of the progress bar then it freezes on "Currently installing Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin". I did have trouble trying to install "Adobe Flash Player 10" before and finally managed to do it, but it's still freezing when installing the suite.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

OK now it's installed, all of the programs work fine except for photoshop.
I did have photoshop cs2 and cs3 previously installed.
I load up "Adobe Photoshop CS4" and it starts loading, it says "initialising" etc and then when it gets to "Building TWAIN menu items" it pops up with the "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" message window asking me to "Send Error Report".
Any ideas please?

I bought Creative suite 3 for my iMac a few years ago and recently have a new hard drive for my computer installed. Old contents were removed to an external memory. Now I can´t use my programs (photosho etc.) What to do?

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

Installation problems with Creative Suite CS5 (Error (-1))

I'm trying to install the Adobe Creative Suite CS5 on a Windows XP 32-Bit laptop.
After entering the serial number, the installation begins and stops at around 7%. Each time I get this error: The Setup encountered an error(-1) during install. Please restart the machine and try again.
I've tried restarting the machine, uninstalling Adobe Reader, and using the Adobe Cleaner tool. None of these things have worked.
I've tried searching and can't seem to find any solution to this problem. I provided the error summary below. Any help would be appreciated.. this is driving me crazy.

These errors resulted in installer Exit Code mentioned below.
Exit Code: 0 - No error.

I usually start from the bottom of the log and search for Error and Fatal. I then search for the error in the Adobe knowledge base, the search bar at http://www.adobe.com/ accesses this.
You can try using the Adobe Support Advisor - http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/. There as an option there which allows you to package for support. You can then post the token to this thread.

Problem Installing Creative Suite 6 Production Premium

I am trying to install the student and teacher edition of Adobe creative Suite 6 production premium. I received the serial number authorization and I can get through all the initial questions however when the install starts it stops at 2% while it's trying to install the dynamic link support. It takes about 30 minutes and then I get this error message: Installation Failed. Adobe Genuine Software Verification Failure. I have run the cleaner tool and have removed all previous creative suite installations. I am running Windows 7 service pack 1. I have tried this three times..
I tried to go through live chat but once I finally got to the first representative they couldn't answer the question and I've waited an hour to be connected to a technical support person and no one has come back to address this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is MacBook Air powerful enough to run Creative Suite?

I have just about about finished my 30 day Creative Cloud Trial and will sign up. However, I am also in teh process of choosing a new macbook to run it on. I don't have a laptop at the moment I have been using my iMac for everything. What I want to know is, is the new MacBook Air which was launched yesterday powerful enough to run Adobe creative applications? A macBook Pro seems like the obvious choice but as this is my second computer and I wont use it as much as my iMac I am mainly focusing on weight and price - I wil mainly use it when travelling a couple of months each year but I still need to work effectively with Creative Cloud. Can you please advise?

Yes, any MAC which is above 10.6.8 can run Creative Cloud.
