Problems using my MBA at altitudes above 3500 feet.

I have been experiencing some problems at altitudes above 3500 feet, although according to the specs it should be working up to 10000 feet and relative humidities of up to 90%. This is quite annoying as it makes it impossible to use in an airplane (usually pressurizes around 7000 feet).
When I start it out of sleep mode (just open the lid) at those altitudes, initially it is extremely slow, but in the end it will hang. Once I try rebooting it will not do anything until you get a screen with a question mark on it.
I am also unable to boot it into safe mode or diagnostic mode if at those altitudes. As soon as we are back at lower altitudes everything works fine again.
Update: The same was experienced in the mountains.

I have been trying at several altitudes.
I have tried a diagnostic check on the Hard Drive and no problems have been detected.
Being a pilot a was able to try at several altitudes. At 3500ft everything was working fine. At 4000ft it would start hanging.
Initially I thought it could also have something to do with static electricity.
I also thought it might have been due to the vibration of the aircraft so I disabled the Sudden Motion Sensor but no joy.
Then I tried it when we went skiing and it wouldn't work again.
I am afraid I will have to take it to Apple Support, but unfortunately here in Belgium it is extremely weak.

    After that, I tried setting permissions for the cwallet.sso file to ugo+rwx, but this leads to the same problems as mentioned above.
    My second try was to setup an external WLS 12c, but it seems to be not yet possible to connect to a WLS 12c from within jDeveloper.
    Do you have any ideas ?

    After debugging the WLS Initialisation with jdb, I recognized that there was some trouble with dependent libraries.
    In the end, I solved my problem by using another OS (Ubuntu 11.10) for development. There, the WLS works out of the box, even with 64-Bit libraries.

    I am facing a problem using namespace within a XSL stylsheet. Let me describe my problem:
    I am using the SAP XMLFormsBuilder within the SAP EnterprisePortal in order to provide a HTML based form for creating and editing specific XML documents. The data in the generated documents is finally presented as HTML using XSL Transformation.
    In the XMLFormsBuilder you define the Schema of the XML document and the HTML GUI of the form. The Schema document looks like below (extract):

    The problem in the XSLT stylesheet is, that I want to access the XML document elements using their namespace. And this is exactly what does not work for me. On the other hand, if I remove the reference to the namespace:

    the stylesheet works fine, but for some technical reasons, which I don't want to explain here, I have to use the namespace when accessing the XML document elements.
    For technical reasons, I cannot change the format of the Schema document and also cannot change the format of the generated XML document. The only file I can change and control is the XSLT stylsheet.
    My question is now, in the case described above, if there is any way to use the namespace in the sytlesheet when accessing the XML elements?

  • Problem using JTextArea

    Hi!
         I' ve a problem using JTextArea. I'm trying to discuss in a brief.....
    I've created an application that is used as a front end for a SQL database application.
    There is a text area (JTextArea). Clicking on a button, what I enter in the text area would be saved into the database. As well as, the text area would be used to display the data (a few line) that the database already contains. That is to say, that a user can edit new text to store into the database and modify older text that is already stored in the database.
    A line the text area would contain could be as long
    as this line.
    Or, a line may be long like this.
    < There may be a gap / empty line >
         A line may be start & end in these positions.
    figure: a text area (JTextArea)
    Suppose that someone used this text area to edit a few lines as the figure displays.
    Now, the next time when he will return here after doing some other tasks with this application or, after reopening the application; the text area should display the entire text the database contains in the format it was edited (See the figure).
    But, I failed to do all the things I sated above! (Except the job with database)
    I don't have any problem in database connectivity or getting the text (String) a database contains.
    Would you please send me a code that explains how to achieve the things I need?

    Well, Canad! I think the another one you said the 'padding' is unable to work successfully as the text area and hereafter the database would contain multiple lines and not only one line. Because, after editing one line if I fill the rest of the space ( space to store string / text in a column of the database ) then where the other lines that would be entered into the text area would be stored ?! (See your suggestion 'padding')
    I can not find out anything & I'm getting tired. Would you do something at my request ?
    Please...Please...Please... send me a code that helps to achieve what the actually I need and ofcourse, explains clearly.

    I'm trying to solve the N-Queens problem using Stacks. Quite frankly, I'm completely lost.
    Here's the pseudocode from the book:

    First off I'll address this:

        }Notice the last line of that. I get what you're trying to do, but think about what the compiler sees there. If you have two variables called 'n', one at the class level, and one at the method level, the compiler must have rules so it knows which one you're talking about. And if it follows those rules, then saying 'n' inside that method must always refer to the same n. Otherwise, how would it decide which one you're talking about? The rule here is that it uses the most local variable available to it, which in this case is your method parameter. So 'n = n' is setting the parameter equal to itself. To refer to the class variable n, use "this.n", like so:
    this.n = n;Now that that's settled, let's address some logic. You'll need to figure out whether two Queens share a diagonal. I can think of at least a couple options for that. First, every time you look at a Queen you could loop through the entire board and make sure that if a piece is in r3c4, that no piece is in r2c3,r4c5,r5c6, etc. Or you could create a new variable for your class similar to your 'row' and 'column' variables that tracks the diagonal a piece is in. But that requires some calculating. And remember, there's 2 directions for diagonals, so you'll need 2 diagonal variables.

    So those could be your variables to track diagonals. What I'm noticing in your current code, is that you never change your row and column variables...so every Queen is always at r0c0. You should probably put values for those in your parameters for the constructor, in addition to n. Then the diagonals can be calculated from those.

  • Z68a-GD65 (G3) Problems Using USB Bootable Tool 1.25g

    I am having problems using the USB Bootable Tool 1.25g with the P77, P80, and P82 BIOS's. I have tried both modes 1 and 2. Both modes copy over everything successfully. When booting using the bootable USB drive, after copying the BIOS file via mode 1, the tool flashes a screen very quickly, then says BIOS updated successfully. This is not true, however, because nothing has been updated. I see something rapidly go 1-2-3-4-5, but the progress indicator I was familiar with with the old version of the USB Bootable tool does not show up, where the BIOS file was being copied block by block and took some time.
    Mode 2 doesn't work either. I get the message "ROMFILE ROMID is not compatible with existing BIOS". This happened with all three BIOS's, using mode 2. I have tried the "Fix my USB Key" option, and have tried clearing the CMOS as described in the instructions on the forum. As a test, I used the M-Flash in the BIOS and was able to flash to P80. P80 is giving me problems with an Intel Management Mode HECI error which disappears when I start the PC, as well as me being unable to raise the base clock speed--even though it shows as raised in the BIOS and it saves the setting. I am now stuck with P80. Now I cannot flash to any other BIOS using the M-Flash utility, as it doesn't find the BIOS file I manually copied over to the drive. The USB bootable tool will not work.

    I did use mode 1, although since I was having trouble, I used mode 2 also, after reading troubleshooting instructions for the USB BIOS tool. The archives I used were all ones I downloaded from the Beta BIOS thread I posted above.
    The problems I was having with P80 were actually because I unknowingly was using the N20 BIOS because somehow my BIOS reverted to that. I have no idea how that happened, aside from that possibly being the failsafe BIOS as part of the dual bios system. Above, I meant to say that I flashed the BIOS through Windows when I had success with the P80 BIOS. The M-Flash utility does not read the BIOS files which are available on this forum.

    Can I use a MBA external DVD in a vertical orientation? Will the drive be damaged in the long run?

    The vertical orientation won't damage the drive.  The only real concern is for discs in the drive.  In general there should not be any problem as long as the drive isn't being jostled during use.  So you should be OK using it that way.  If you find that the drive isn't reading/writing discs properly then try using it horizontally to see if that fixes things.

    I have a question on using EJB / or RMI servers with CORBA clients using
    RMI-IIOP transport, which in theory should work, but in practice has few
    glitches.
    Basically, I have implemented a very simple server, StockTreader, which
    looks up for a symbol and returns a 'Stock' object. In the first example, I
    simplified the 'Stock' object to be a mere java.lang.String, so that lookup
    would simply return the 'synbol'.
    Then I have implemented the above, as an RMI-IIOP server (case 1) and a
    CORBA server (case 2) with respective clients, and the pair of
    client-servers work fine as long as they are CORBA-to-CORBA and RMI-to-RMI.
    But the problem arises when I tried using the RMI server (via IIOP) with the
    CORBA client, when the client tries to narrow the object ref obtained from
    the naming service into the CORBA idl defined type (StockTrader) it ends up
    with a class cast exception.
    This is what I did to achieve the above results:
    [1] Define an RMI interface StockTrader.java (extending java.rmi.Remote)
    with the method,
    public String lookup( String symbol) throws RMIException;
    [2] Implement the StorckTrader interface (on a PortableRemoteObject derived
    class, to make it IIOP compliant), and then the server to register the stock

  • Could not initialize photoshop because of a problem using the adobe color engine (Win 7)

    Was running the lastest version of Photoshop CS5 and added a second quad graphics card and 4 more monitors.  Now PS will not start and I get the error message "could not initialize photoshop because of a problem using the adobe color engine."
    Computer has 2 NIVDIA Quadro4 NVS420 graphics boards with 8 Samsung SyncMaster 1920x1080 monitors.  If I disable 4 of the monitors CS5 starts normally.  I do not have to remove the added graphics card.  When I extend the desktop again to all 8 monitors I get the error above.
    How do I trouble-shoot the problem?  Is it Photoshop, NIVDIA or Windows 7?

    Well, not exactly a full solution yet (at least for my setup), but I am certain now that this issue is (mostly) caused by nVidia's drivers. You may be able to fix your setup by simply installing the latest drivers for your NVS420 cards (266.45 for Win 7/64 rel. 01/12/2011).
    Since you are using two identical cards, this could do the trick.
    Caveats - Make sure you:
    1. Select Custom Install, the Express Install will most likely not work properly.
    2. Unselect the Audio Driver (if available), the nVidia HD(MI) Audio driver could
        screw up your speech recognition (if you use it) or other audio software - it did for me.
    3. Select Clean Install. If you don't, files like C:\Windows\System32\drivers\nvlddmkm.sys
        and several other driver related files will not be overwritten, causing all sorts of neat effects.
    4. After the Install is complete, reboot your system whether the Installer prompts you or not.
    After testing various configurations, disabling two - six of my eight monitors I am at this point:
    I am now using nVidia's lastest and greatest piece of crap (read driver), version 266.58, released just two days ago. After an initial snag with maximized windows extending to the bottom of the main monitor (underneath the taskbar), a re-install & reboot solved that issue.
    All three driver versions tested (260.89, 260.99, 266.58) now allow me to start PhotoShop without any problems; providing I first disable the two monitors fed by my onboard graphics (nVidia 780a based), leaving me with six monitors connected to three GTS-450 cards.  I can even re-enable the two other monitors once the program is open, and it continues to work fine. However, I must disconnect them again for the next start of PhotoShop.
    On an interesting side note:
    After disabling six monitors (leaving only two on a GTS-450), I was also able to open and run SoundBooth CS5, which previously would not open, citing the audio driver as the problem. After sucessfully starting SoundBooth I could re-enable all six other monitors (incl. onboards),
    and that program now opens and works fine with all 8 monitors connected. [ODD !!!]
    Other than Adobe Software, I've had only one other issue with my setup:
    When playing online poker at PokerStars, occasionally and quite randomly one of multiple tables would freeze up. I'll try disabling the two onboard monitors for that program as well to see whether the random freezes stop.
    Overall, while I think that Adobe produces fine software and nVidia has been in need of an overhaul for quite some time now, I also think that Adobe and nVidia software engineers need to work more closely together to ensure that problems like this don't arise in the first place after a product has been released to the public. IMHO, this is avoidable!
    PS:

    your monitors, or stretch a single image across all monitors. With the Pro Version ($25),

    My problem is regarding usage of facelets with trinidad component library. I am trying to run *<tr:panelTabbed>* component of TRINIDAD 2.0 on *.jsp* as well as *.xhtml*. If I run my jsp , I am able to used panel tab fully like switching between two tabs. Same code I have added in my .xhtml page in the same project under *<ui:composition>* tags. I am successfully able show the component on the screen , but I am not able to switch between the two tabs. Here are the list of libs that have added to the project.

  • Problems use ImageIcon

    I am having a problem using ImageIcon. I can see the images in
    the AppletViewer, but not in an actual Applet. I get a NullPointer
    Exception. It seems to be a problem with the Class or ClassPath finding the image.
    Here is a break down of my files and the packages they are in:
    mygui/gui/project -> contains the java project file
    mygui/gui -> contains the gui.jar (created)
    mygui/gui/guiFramework -> contains MyApplet.java (extends JApplet) and
    MyWindow.java (extends JFrame)
    mygui/gui/images -> contains image mypicture.gif
    MyWindow references the images found in mygui/gui/images

  • Problem using HOST

    Hi Folks.
    I am running a form module that iterates through a bunch of e-mail addresses. For each address it creates a list of associated invoices. It then zips the invoices and emails them out to the current e-mail address.
    Currently this process if for about 150 e-mail addresses. Each of them is supposed to have their own invoices only.
    The problem I have is that the .zip file is not being overwritten by the process so I decided to put in the following call using HOST...

    The program unit is called before the new zip file is created. The theory being that, having deleted the file, there will be no doubt that the newly created file will contain only the invoices I have selected for it.
    The problem I have is that the above code does not actually delete the requested file.
    I have supplied, in this example, the full network path name. If I enter this command on the client or the server in the MS_DOS prompt window it executes perfectly.
    I can't help feeling there is some little thing I am missing.
    Can anyone help?

    Perhaps a problem with blanks in your filename?
    We are using
    HOST('CMD /C "DEL /F '||l_file_name||'"', NO_SCREEN);,
    which works perfect on Win2000.

  • Problems using Anyconnect 3.x client together with Kaspersky AntiVirus

    We have Notebooks with Windows Vista - most of the notebooks have "Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 für Windows Workstation" installed and some "Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 für Windows".
    Anyconnect 2.5 works perfect on these notebooks.
    But when I upgrade anyconnect to version 3.0 or 3.1, I have the problem that all HTTP traffic is blocked - all other network traffic is still working.
    When I quit the Kaspersky client (or uninstall it), everything is working again - except that I have no working antivirus protection.
    Of course, I have tried different settings for the Kaspersky client (without success) and asked our Kaspersky support (who said that anyconnect is causing this problem and not Kaspersky).
    My first experience with a Windows 7 notebook is that this problem does not exist using Windows 7.
    So maybe the problem is caused by a strange combination of Windows Vista, Anyconnect 3.x and Kaspersky.
    Does anyone else has problems using Anyconnect 3.x client together with Kaspersky AntiVirus?

    We've recently run into an issue related to this. We found that it was related somehow to Firefox. If one looks inside of
    /Applications/Cisco/Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.app/Contents/MacOS/ there are symlinks to Firefox libraries:

    So as a simple confirmation we were able to remove Firefox and have AnyConnect connect fine. As a more permanent workaround we replaced the above symlinks with 0 byte files and we were able to have our cake (AnyConnect connecting) and eat it too (Firefox installed as well).

  • Problems using FP Advise Timestamp

    I'm having problems using the timestamp from the FP Advise vi - dates/times way out from current date/time. I am using FP1600 and have FW 3.00.
    I've seen some comments re time sync of the FP Server but not sure what this relates to.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Sorry for the confusion. The Time Service that the FP-1600 uses is the Lookout Time Synchronization Services. The Lookout Time Syncrhonization services debuted with Lookout 4.0 and shortly thereafter in FieldPoint Explorer 2.0. They are also distributed with later versions of those two products and now with LabVIEW-Data Logging and Supervisory Control module. The set-up of the Time Server is as simple as installing any of the above products. The Time Synchronization Server is installed as a Service and should always be available to any computer or device that is trying to synchronize to it.
    A Time Server is a computer that is running the Lookout Time Synchronization Service as installed by any of the above mentioned products. The primary m
    ethod of configuring a FP-1600 to use the Time Server is the Time Server IP Address assignment box which is located in the window where all of the FP-1600's ethernet parameters is located. It is strongly recommended that the Time Server be assigned a static IP address as the FP-1600 modules do not support DHCP. If you assign a FP-1600 to look at a particular IP address as it's Time Server, and due to DHCP it's changed it's address, then the FP-1600 is unable to synchronize it's clock. An important note is that even when a FP-1600 fails to synchronize it's clock, the delta's on the time-stamps will still be accurate even though the absolute date/time is incorrect.

  • Problems using MAX and PXI 8186 RT

    Hi all !
    I'm facing to problems using MAX
    1) We have a 1GB switch in order to connect my PXI 8186 RT controller and the host PC, when i use this switch, and i try to access the cards plugged in the PXI card with MAX, MAX crash! When i use a 10/100 Mb switch everything is ok, i can access to the card without any problem ! I know the PXI 8186 controller is only fitted with a 10/100 Mb Ethernet card, but i think that must not be a problem , am i wrong ? Is this problem a known bug ??
    2) I want to install all software used by my application on the host computer (in order to be able to reinstall the PXI8186 controller in case of a crash)! To do that i installed MAX 3.1.1, then all drivers NI-DAQmx 7.4, CAN2.2, VISA 3.3, and finally Labview RT 7.1 Embedded on my gost computer! After that i tried to download these software in the controller using MAX! The problem is these software are on the host computer (there are visible in system/ software) , but when i try to install them on the controller, max don't see them ! I tried to uninstall and re-install all software but no changes ... Is there a procedure or an order to install all these software ??? What should i do ???

    The process to install software on RT controller is :
    1/ Install LabVIEW Real-Time 7.1 on your host computer
    2/ Install all driveres you need on your RT target
    3/ On your host machine, in MAX, go to "remote targets"
    4/ Expand "Software"
    5/ Clik on "Install" button.
    This application note will give you more details about above process.
    Our controller is only provided with 10/100 MB network device. You have to check if you can configure your 1GB switch into 10/100 MB.
