Problems viewing Flash Player content in browsers (as consumer)

Win XP Pro version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600
IE 8.0.6001.18702
Firefox 3.6.27
I have insured I have the most current Flash Player installed.  I even uninstalled and reinstalled it.  I have confirmed my internet security is not blocking the content.
I'm writing as a viewer / consumer on web pages (mostly shopping sites).  I do design web sites, but do not know Flash Player.  On sites that have Flash Player content I can no longer see the images.  When I right click on the image area, the Adobe Flash Player menu pops up, so that's how I figured out it was Flash Player. The happens in both IE and Firefox.  I have not tried Chrome - would have to install that.
The "one moment please" message displays and then overlaid is "please try again later, our apologies."  Examples of this are on jcp.com and bradfordexchange.com on individual product pages.  Following are two links to individual product pages:

I don't know what else to try to fix this problem...it's very frustrating because I'm trying to shop on these sites.

  • View flash player content in iPad

i need to watch some content in adobe flash player from a business site for my job and it only displays an error that says that Adobe flash player is not supported by Apple iPad. Is there any way of seeing it with another application ? Thanks for any ideas

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash. Adobe is not providing Flash for Apple iOS devices, and they no longer provide Flash for any other cellular phones. Flash is officially gone.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
A sample of Apps that can display some Flash content:
      1. Puffin
      2. SkyFire
      3. Photon Flash
      4. Browse2Go
      5. Swifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."
Download the Facebook app from the iTunes Store. Sign in with your Facebook ID and Password and you won't require flash to play videos.

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:

If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

    Hi,
I'm sorry you're having problems getting Flash Player installed and running properly.  Can you try the following steps?
    1. Download the stand alone uninstaller
    2. Close all your browser windows
    3. Run the uninstaller
    4. Delete the following folder, depending on your operating system type:
    Windows 32bit - c:\Windows\system32\macromed

    5. Restart your computer

  • Viewing flash web content on N97

I've just got myself the new N97 (love it, btw). The web browsing is far better than what it was on the N95. (personal opinion). The only problem: I can't view flash web content. I can find the Flash player, but I'm talking about embedded flash videos on websites. For example: Visit www.family-secrets.net, my own website. I'm using an embedded flash player to play videos. I can't view these on my phone. I was under the impression that the N97 did come with the ability to play flash web content. Was I wrong? Or am I missing something here?
    Thanks,

You need to use airplay or mirror.  What mac or device do you want to stream from?

  • Problem keeping Flash Player 10 active.

I am having similar problems as the other people posting. Most of the Adobe responses seem to need more information regarding systems and software. Here are my experiences. Like Gina in an earlier post, I had no problems with Flash Player until the February, 2009 Microsoft Tuesday security, O.S. and Office updates. I could no longer view Adobe Flash content. I tried all of the suggestions from this and other Forums including Adobe's Flash Player Support site. This included Permission settings, registry tweeks, copying and pasting files, using the seperate uninstall file for F.P. 10, installing from Macromed file under System32 file location- running as administrator, uninstalling from Control Panel and re-installing from Adobe F.P. site and Macromed file, Managing Add Ons tool in Internet Explorer.
My computer is a laptop with 2 gig of memory with Windows Vista SP1 operating system. I have McAfee Security Center, latest version with current updates as my security system. I connect to the internet via 56k modem. My ISP is MSN with the latest version of MSN Explorer (9. something). My browser is Internet Explorer. Versions 7 and 8 have the same conditional problems.
At the same time that I started having problem with Flash Player, after the Microsoft 2/2009 updates, I started to get error messages saying MSN/(or) Internet Explorer has stopped working which would force a close of those programs. This would occur while visiting sites with active content, especially newspaper electronic sites. My only work around to the Flash Player problem has been to uninstall MSN and Flash Player, re-install Flash Player and then restart the computer to set up the registry. Then, re-install MSN. This will work for three to seven days. Then, I will not be able to view all Flash content after that period of time. A lot of red boxes with red X's. Clicking on these X's and then choosing the SETTINGS option, I can get to camera and microphone permissions but not any security or history permissions. Flash Player is still listed as a program with Active X in my Control Panel Under 'PROGRAMS'.
My computer, operating system, security programs, ISP have not changed since encountering the Flash Player problems. I have upgraded from Internet Explorer 7 to 8 hoping that this would correct the problem. It did not. Hopefully there is enough information here for someone to be able to find a solution.

See if any of this helps

  • Installing Flash Player for Other Browsers on Win 8

    Hi,
I would like to install Flash Player for Other Browsers (specifically for Steam) on my laptop which runs on Win 8 but I'm having issues.
When I run the installation file and then click Yes in the User Account Control dialog box, nothing happens thereafter.
I checked in Task Manager and the installer is indeed running but I don't see anything happening (been more than half an hour).
I tried terminating the first instance of the program, downloading the file again, and running the installer - but the same problem arises.
    Please help! THANKS!

Try if you have better luck with the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header

  • SCORM (flash Player Content) not working on Windows Server 2012 R2 which has IE11 integrated installed on it.

    Hi Everyone,
I have website which contains SCORM package, installed on Windows Server 2012 R2 which has IE11 installed on it.
Flash Player is also embedded with IE.
    IE Version:  11.0.9600.17278.
    Updated Version: 11.0.12 (KB2977629)
When I launch SCORM (flash Player Content) from my application, it is not working. It just displays a blank page however the Title of IE is set to the text from the SCORM content.
However if I access the same URL from any other machine which has previous version of Windows OS (i.e. previous to Windows 8 OS), it is working as expected on IE9, IE10 and IE11.
While trying to find out the cause, I came across some forum which says we have to install the “Desktop Experience” on the server to enable the inbuilt flash player. After doing that also, My SCORM contents are not getting displayed.
To find out more details, I have uploaded the SCORM Package on SCORM Cloud to check if it is working there. Here again the same problem, it doesn’t work and displays
error message saying that “Member is not found” and when I tried to find out the location of the error then it is coming at
Windows.document.myFlash.setVariable(…) method on the Windows Server 2012 R2 with IE11.
When I performed “Addwatch”, it is saying that Windows.document.myFlash doesn’t have setVariable(…) method.
However if access the same cloud URL from other machine (Having OS previous to Windows 8 OS), it is working as expected.
I have attached the screenshot of the error.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello,
I'd ask the SCORM package provider or in Microsoft's  ASP.Net forums:
    http://forums.asp.net/
As Microsoft's ASP.Net forums are on a different platform, we cannot move the question for you.

  • Problems with flash Player

So I'm having a problem with flash player, and was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing, or might be able to help.
    - Upgraded 2 computers to snow leopard, macbook pro laptop, and mac Pro tower (intel proc).
    - Laptop has no problems, everything renders fine, and without any difficulty.
    - Mac Pro doesn't display any dynamic data, text fields show up blank, some flash player controls don't work, brightcove player won't load completely... things are just not working right.
    - Main browser is Safari, but same problem exists in Camino, Firefox, etc...
    - I've had Safari Stand installed, but have since removed it.
    - I've removed GROWL notifications completely
    - I've got debug and developer menus turned on (but have that with the laptop also.)
Please see the screenshot attached. This graph should have text data on it showing the x/y axis, the key, as well as data when you mouse over each block, but doesn't show anything.
The second screen shot shows a brightcove player from our website... There should have full controls at the bottom, and nothing shows up. If I right-click, and go to 'view full screen', I can't then get out of full screen by clicking escape key on the keyboard, I have to use any player controls, or right-click again, and hit 'exit full screen'.
Anyone have any suggestions? It's something to do with my computer, rather than snow leopard, because flash works fine on my laptop, but not on the desktop. Any help is really appreciated !

    Hi!
I reached your post because I was having the exact same issues as you and I found a fix that worked for me! The problem is a font issue: I logged in with the guest account that had no users font installed and flash was working fine, so I logged back into my account and moved all the fonts in my 'User>Library>Fonts' folder in a folder in the desktop. Then I closed and reopened Safari and Flash was working!
In the end the problem was with a version of Arial that I had in my users' font folder: I deleted just that, put my users' font back in the folder and the problem disappeared.
    I hope it hepls!
    best

  • How to make adobe flash player content on websites run on safari browser of my ipad?

How to make adobe flash player content on websites run on safari browser of my ipad?do I have to install adobe flash player on my ipad ?

The flash add-on is not available for Safari on iOS. Never has been and in fact Adobe has ceased support for flash for mobile devices in general. Your options, depending on the specific sites:
See if the site or sites in question have their own apps availabel in teh app store
Look into some browsers such as Puffin adn iSwifter (there are others, I beleive). These browsers use a third server site to translate the flsh content into a form that the iPAd can use and restreams them to you. They may not work with all content.
Use a computer capable of running flash.
Seek a source of the conent that is designed for non flash use.

  • Problem installing flash player with I.E

Whilst surfing around the internet this morning I vaguely remember getting a message about needing an adobe flash player update shortly followed by my browser crashing. I didn't think much more of it but from this afternoon onwards I discovered that almost every website i visited would throw up a "This website wants to run the Following add-on: 'Adobe Flash Player' from 'Adobe System Incorporation'. If you trust the website and the following add-on and want to allow it to run, Click Here..." message at the top of the page.
I tried resetting Internet Explorer 8's security settings to default (i think they were default anyway) but this made no difference. I went to the adobe website to attempt to install the latest flash player but every time i went to the installation page it would refresh itself after about 5 seconds with a "This tab has been recovered. A problem with this web page caused Internet Explorer to close and reopen the tab" message at the top of the page. The page would then refresh again, this time ending up with a "We were unable to return you to adobe.com. Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website." error page.
In an effort to resolve these problems I uninstalled adobe flash player using the adobe uninstaller (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html), rebooted my computer and attempted to install the flash player again. Once again I couldn't install it with my attempts again ending up at the "We were unable to return you to adobe.com. Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website." error page.
I just tried downloading the Firefox browser and have had no problem installing and using the adobe flash player so I am guessing the problem is some sort of issue between adobe and internet explorer- any solutions?
    Thanks :-)

Hi, You didn't say what version of IE you are using, but most likely IE7 or IE8. It's some option in the browser I'm sure.
Since you ran the Uninstaller, and it Uninstalls all Flash Player from All browsers, try this Adobe Installer that you will download and SAVE to your Desktop. Then close all browsers, keep your Security setting on Medium for the Internet Zone, be sure to use the Administrator account(only one that has permission). Check your system tray (area by the clock) and disable any application that uses Flash, as Messenger services.
Run the Installer from your Desktop and when it is finished, be sure to Reboot(restart) your computer.
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
    Then test here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
Check your websites to see if they are working properly.
    Thanks,

  • Flash Player content not loading IE11...

Hi I'm having issues with Flash Player on IE 11...
    OS:                    Windows 7 Professional SP1.
    Browser:             IE 11 (Version: 11.0.9600.17041 / Update version: KB2929437)
    Flash Player:      ActiveX Version 16.0.0.235
                             NPAPI Plug-in Version 16.0.0.235
                             PPAPI Plug-in Version Not installed
Website:            http://www.nick.co.uk    (as well as others but this one is one of the important sites; as reward for students at the school)
I have disabled ActiveX filtering, I have made sure that Shockwave Flash Object is enabled; I have made sure that ActiveX is allowed on all sites... As far as I can tell I have ticked/un-ticked all the right boxes and still IE11 will not load any Flash Player content.
The quick fix would be to use Firefox or Google Chrome or any other web browser; however the students at the school I work at have severe and profound learning, behavioural, and/or physical difficulties that mean I do not want to interfere with the established method of accessing the internet, and software that they are familiar with.
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

  • White/Black Screen Problems With Flash Player

I have had a problem with flash player since updating it in November.  Certain websites such as YouTube and Worldstarhiphop work perfectly while other websites such as Facebook produce black or white screens when trying to play videos.  If you attempt to play a video on a website in which you get the black or white screen, you can still hear the audio.  While that is annoying it is only a minor inconvenience, the biggest problem is with other websites that require flash.  I currently want to run an internet speed test on my computer but I can not find a website that my flash player will work with.  The weird thing is that the animation at (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html) plays correctly.
To fix the problem, I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall flash player.  I have also tried changing the settings, enabling/disabling hardware acceleration.  I feel like I've tried just about everything and I'm running out of ideas.  I currently am using flash version 12.0.0.44 through Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.16518.  My computer is running on Windows 7.  Does anyone have any idea's on how to fix this problem?

I am having the same problems and have tried all the posted solutions with no positive result, so far.
Similar to above… on all of the web pages on which I am unable to see the flash videos, if I click in the flash window to start the video, all I get is audio playback with a black or white screen.
However…  If I move the mouse around inside the flash window, I can see that the mouse pointer still reacts wherever the video control buttons are located at the bottom (although I can’t see the buttons, themselves).  And if I click the “full screen” button …. usually in the lower right… my view goes to full screen and the video appears!
I don’t know about everyone else, but my problem appears to be limited to:
Specific websites (facebook, most news websites)… I have no problem with Youtube or the Adobe  Test Page.
Viewing video in the embedded flash window on the web page...  Opening the video to full screen allows me to see it.
I’ve tried this on several of my problem websites with consistent “success” at viewing videos.  It's an annoying solution, but at least I can see the videos.
