Problems with earphones in iPod on iPhone

My earphone buttons (volume and pause) have stopped working on my iPhone 3GS. It is not the earphones as I have tried another set. I also can't answer a call by pressing the centre button. Any ideas?

It appears that the problem is with the iphone headphone jack. The pin which takes inputs from the buttons may be bent so that its not in contact with the headphone jack correctly. Try using a different set of headphone. IF the buttons don't work, then we can conclude that the problem is with the jack.
IF thats the problem, you might need to take it to an apple store(expensive to fix, since its not covered under warranty). Or there are several third part repairers which can fix up the jack for you (Relatively cheaper). Or you can order the part from websites who sell this part, and fix it yourself. (Caution: You need experience to open up the iphone and replaceing it. Dont risk it if you are trying for the first time).

However, there were problems with duplication of calendars and then “rogue events” – which could not be deleted – even if deleted on Outlook and on the iPhone (or both at the same time) – they would just reappear after the next synchronisation. All other synchronisation areas (eg Contacts, Notes etc) work fine.
I have looked for help through the Apple Support Community and tried many things. I have repaired my Outlook. I have repaired my .pst file in Windows. I have re-installed the latest version of iTunes on my PC. I have re-installed the firmware on my iPhone. I have tried many permutations on my iPhone. I have closed down all Mobile Me functions on the iPhone. I have spent upwards of 24 hours trying to solve this problem.
What am I left with? Outlook works seamlessly on my PC. My iPhone calendar now has no events from my calendar, but does not synchronise through iTunes. Nor does it send events initiated on the iPhone to the Outlook. I am at the point of abandoning iPhones and iPads altogether. I need to have a properly synchronising calendar on my phone. Do you have any suggestions?

In the control panel goto the "Lenovo - Power Manager" and click the battery tab, there is a maintenance button in there that will let you change the charging profile for your battery. (from memory, so exact wording may be off)
The lower the numbers you use there, the longer the battery *should* last. These batteries degrade faster at higher charge levels, however storing them at too low of levels is also not good for them... I've read that 40% is optimal, but just not realistic if you use your computer.

Problems with syncing my ipod

Yesterday I updated my iPod tot 1.1
After that it had that crappie bug with the video's, so I downgraded my iPod. After that I updated it again tot 1.1
Now I have a problem with syncing my iPod (video's only).
First I had some series it synced with my iPod, also after the first update. But after the second update it tells me there are some files it couldn't sync. (some videos it did sync btw, and the problem with the sound has gone, I can play movies normal now!)
So the problem is now that it doesn't sync all my movies anymore, and I converted all of them with the same program..
Anyone has the same problem or knows how to solve?

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hope my iPod stays healthy, if it doesnt its a warrenty job me thinks any way thanks again

IMAP Problem with os 7.0.4 iphone 5s. I have configured the email account twice IMAP. He comes to work about two days. Suddenly stops working. No download or by post for 3g wifi. Gives an error connecting to the server. The same configuration works properly on the samsung s3, s4. In an iphone 5c proper operation settings (with another email account). Problems with playback through iPod headphones

I've had an issue when I plug in my supplied iPod headphones that the audio playback is muted and the vocals unclear. I checked the headphones on my Mac and when plugged all the way in...same result. Any suggestions short of returning them?

Yes I'm using iTunes to rip the CDs.
I've tried ripping some songs to AAC 256 kbps without VBR, AAC 128 kbps without VBR, MP3 256 kbps with VBR, MP3 256 kbps without VBR and MP3 128 kbps without VBR. Same problem. Songs play fine on computer when played out of iTunes. Put songs on Shuffle and some will play and other will partially play before skipping to the next song.
The same songs ripped to AAC 256 kbps with VBR played just fine on my first generation 1GB Shuffle. On the new 2GB Shuffle they don't. I wasn't worried when the 2GB Shuffle I bought had a problem I thought it was just a case of one bad apple in the bunch (no pun intended). Now that I've gotten the replacement 2GB Shuffle and it has the same problem I'm left wondering if there's not a problem with them in general.

Problem with sound on iPod Photo

I am having a problem with sound on an iPod Photo. You can hear music for about 5 seconds and then it is silent. I have to turn off the iPod for several seconds. When I turn it back on it will have sound again for about 5 seconds before going silent again. Has anyone else expeirenced this? Any ideas what may be happening
