Problems with email account on BlackBerry Q10

At the start of this week I had 2 email accounts on my BlackBerry Q10.
Calls/SMSes and emails were all being received/sent/allowed without any issue (through wifi and/or usual network connection). The ONLY exception to this was that I was NOT able to send emails from 1 of my 2 email accounts since Monday evening.
When I tried to send a message through this email account on my Blackberry the message showed up with the same icon/symbol to its left as though it was a received message...
I have had this issue before occasionally. Previously i have removed battery and re-started and there has been no problem. This week such a solution didn't work.
I am wondering if it could be an issue due to work performed on the server where our mail is hosted at the start of the week which has 'upset' my Blackberry?
In the end I deleted this faulty 2nd email account this morning and since then am unable to reinstall it...
Messages I get from regular email account adding is: 'make sure your email address and passwod are entered correctly. If you're trying to add a work account, make sure your enterprise activation code has not expired. Contact your administrator for support;
When I try the advanced option I receve the error message: 'the server mail for your account is not responding. please check your settings and try again'
I have added the exact same email account to my father's iPhone this afternoon and the account has been added and is working fine.
Any ideas why it shoudl work without a problem on the iPhone - and more importantly how to solve the problem and re-add the email account to my BlackBerry? (And then - how to be able to send the messages - if I still have an issue then with sending emails...)

I think it is unlikely that the one email account is interefering with the other one. They have 'happily co-existed' for about a year but maybe I could try removing the one that is currently working, I guess, just to double-check...
How would I know if they are 'BES connected'? I don't remember setting them up initially - it was so long ago... ...and I didn't see any 'prompt' today when trying to add the account back asking if the account should be 'BES' or not?
I did contact our hosting guys but they maintain it is not sth they have done. In any case it still works on my father's iPhone so it seems it is rather a BlackBerry problem in general rather than an issue with my server?
Yes, my BlackBerry ID is related with the email account that I can't add... Could that be an issue? I do have a second email address that I tried to add on this email account (which is different to my BlackBerry ID) and I was unable to add that either - so it would also seem this is not the issue here?

    In the email settings, in connection settings you'll have the option to set the Access point used for incoming and outgoing emails.
    ... messaging, options, settings, email, mailboxes, select the mailbox, connection settings then incoming and outgoing e-mail - here you can set the access point to be used. I would suggest setting it to Always ask - that way you can select to use your wireless lan if you're in range or select Three Internet if you're not in range of your Wlan.

    I am having problems with my Mac email account. I think that by mistake I linked my account to Verizon.com email and now when I open my Macmail it gives me the following message:
    "There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “Verizon” or try again.
    The server returned the error: Mail was unable to connect to server “incoming.yahoo.verizon.net” using SSL on port 995. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct.

    That error states that the mail is trying to access the Verizon email server. From the sound of your post, your not using a Verizon email address right?
    Now if you are using a Verizon email address, then the problem is that you have SSL checked. Verizon servers do not use SSL so you would need to uncheck that option in the settings
    If your not using a Verizon email address, then the problem is that your incoming server is incorrect. You need to enter the correct incoming server for what ever Email address you are using.

    I set up all my different email accounts with Mac Mail 3.6 in order to work with only one software instead of connecting to various pages to check my mails. There is one gmail account, one yahoo account and one separate email that connects via a server (domain) and then there is my mobile me email account.
    I set up everything following the detailed indications I found on the net and everything was running smoothly for quite some time (approx. 2 months).
    After that, and for no specific reason of my knowledge, things with sending emails started to turn sour. -
    What happens is that Apple mail, when I hit the sending button, just sits there with its little "clock-symbol" going round and round but not sending anything.
    Closing and reopening rarely helps and most of the time I'm forced to go back to the online version of each mail account and send it from there.
    I need to send a lot of email every day, and would appreciate any input on this matter in order to solve this little issue. - If there is no solution, I guess I'll be forced to go back to the old and slow way of doing things.

    Welcome to the Discussions.
    If you run Connection Doctor, does it report problems with connecting to any of the SMTP server?
    In each account (Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information) have you checked to see if the proper SMTP is selected, and that you have further selected to "Use only this server"?

    I have 4 email accounts on my iphone 4- 1 mobileme and 3 pop3 accounts. It has worked perfectly for 2 years on all my iphones. For the last month I have been having trouble getting emails from my work account. It says my account info is wrong and to check settings. I did and everything is ok. My email at bottom of page where it says where it was last updated is stuck on a certain time and date even though I get emails in other 3 accounts every 15 mins (push). I deleted the account and added it again and it worked perfect-for a few days! Then it does it again! I have done this about 3 or 4 times and I don't know what is wrong. Any ideas?

    As an FYI, this is not Push. This is Fetch. The only account you are accessing that supports push access for received messages is your MobileMe account. A POP account does not support push access.
    Not sure where the problem lies especially since the problem occurs with one of the POP accounts only.
    How often do you power your iPhone off and on? Any change after powering your iPhone off and on and/or after an iPhone reset?

    So, I updated yesterday to iOS5, I have an iPad 2. Everything works absolutely amazing. I installed iCloud and created a me.com email account. I can receive email address with the account, but I cannot send/reply to none of the messages. Each time I send one, I get an error, it says it can't connect to the server, and tells me to go to config the account, but I can't, because it's from iCloud!

    Hi All,
    The only solution to this error is by calling iCloud support via express lane for iOS5.  Once you get a representative, asked them to escalate you to the mobile me division.  Only senior tech advisors can help.  It seems the error is being caused by an aliases issue.  Dont waist your time changing your settings.  It wont fix it.
    They need to reset your account and this will remove the user name/password/smtp server/ unknow user errors you are receiving!
    PS: tech support from apple is free if you have a new iPhone 4S or applecare thats still valid.  Since this is and iOS5 / iCloud issue, they are willing to assit for free.

    I've bought Lumia 735 for my mum. I've set up 2 email accounts for her, one as "Other", 2nd one, work account by using Exchange settings. It worked alright then.
    Now I cannot check emails on both accounts, there is information that both accounts are not up to date. I get the error code 80072F30.
    In the meantime the Outlook account has been added.
    What is funny that the Outlook password overrides all other passwords.
    I go into Settings, re-type the password, click "done" and every time the password from 1st and 2nd account changes to the Outlook account password.
    Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or what should I do?

    Have you tried checking this?  Error Code 80072F30 when Synchronizing Mailbox on Windows Phone 8 for further troubleshooting.

    worth a try: open Mail app, hit the edit button in the upper right corner and check the mailboxes to be shown. May be there are mailboxes unchecked.

  • HTC Rezound problem with email account

    I just purchased the phone Thursday and it was working very well.  Yesterday, I started getting an error message everytime it checks for yahoo email.  The error message is "Unable to send mail.  The account setting is incorrect".  I am receiving and can send messages, but every 15 minutes it beeps 6 times to inform me of the message - very irritating.  I took it to the Verizon store and no one there knew what to do.  I tried to delete the account but it won't let me. 

    If you don't mind setting up any other email addresses back into the mail app, you could always try clearing cache and data for the app.  From your homescreen, press menu>settings>applications>manage applications, press the all tab at the top of the screen, scroll down to and press Mail, select clear cache, clear data.  You will loose all data associated with the Mail app (email addresses, passwords, notification settings, etc., your emails will still be available on the associated website), but it will clear out the Yahoo account.
    The Rezound has been notoriously bad with Yahoo email, but that will be fixed in a future update.

    Since I downloaded the new Yosemite my emails will not open right away. There is an exclamation mark beside all my Telus  related inbox, sent and trash. have called Telus several times and they walk me through and have me unplug and plug back in my modem. Last time they told me to take my mail off line and then online again, bu that doesn't work either. They told me that millions of Telus and Shaw users are having the same problem.
    I have to click on my email and then wait 15 minutes or so before it opens up!!
    I can open emails on my iPad, and could is no problem either, I can also use the internet. This is very strange.
    Is there an Apple fix?? This is very frustrating. Thank you.

    Even i am having trouble setting up the Google Native app on my Nokia 6303.
    My Firmware version is 10.12
    The google app settings are:
    Application Access> Communication>Network Access>Ask first time only
    Application Access> Communication>Connectivity>Always allowed
    But otherwise my I can surf the net, check emails on the web without any problems.

  • Problems with email and SMS after 1.3.5

    Let me first say that I love the Pre. Up until this point it has been perfect - I have a replacement, but that is because I dropped it (wrong angle, wrong location, broken screen). However, following the 1.3.5 update I'm now having a fairly important problem with email and sms - I can receive email and messages, but not send them.
    I have two email accounts. My personal account is with earthlink. My work account goes through an ISP using the domain name of my employer. I'm not using Microsoft Exchange or Outlook. I have tried deleting and reentering the accounts and that did not work. I can receive messages but get error messages when I try to send. 
    The same for messaging. I don't use it very often. But yesterday I get a text message  and tried to respond and got the error message.
    I power the phone off every night because I have a landline and use that as the primary phone at home.
    I have been looking around message boards trying to find a fix for this.  Has anyone had this issue and resolved it?

    I forgot to add that this is a stock Pre. There are no patches or homebrew apps.

    I found a fix for the email problem, in posts on precentral and this board from a few months ago. The info came up in a Google search, and not searches of the boards, which is kind of frustrating.  Here is the info, and the link.  I really wish Palm would put info about this work around on their site, or at least make it easy for people to find.  The solution is the last message in the thread linked below:
    Had the same problem.  Checked with Earthlink - no help.  Checked with Sprint - no help.  Checked with Palm - no help.  Here is what finally worked:
    Delete the earthlink account and start over.  When you do - this is the key - set up the account manually!  If you use the Pre defaults and try to change the settings it will not correct the problem. Your settings for outgoing mail must be:
    "smtpauth.earthlink.net"
    Use Authentication set to "on"
    username is your email address
    your email password
    port set to "587"
    encryption "none"
    Again, the key is to set up manually.

  • I am having a problem with email, when I delete messages from my Ipad, they come back into trash whether they are on my PC or not. The only way I can delete them is to to my providers site and delete everything there.

    I am having a problem with email. I can receive and send, but when I delete, the deleted messages return into either Trash or Bin or both whether or not I have deleted them from my PC.
    The only way I can get rid of them permanently, is to go into my area of my providers site(Sky) and empty all of the boxes there. I imagine it's a setting, please advise.

    For IMAP mail only.
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>tap on mail account>Archieve Messages>OFF

    Keep getting knocked out of email. Different errors, mostly cannot connect to server. Per Apple's mail support page. One of the settings should be Password. When I change to password in settings, it keeps switching to MD5 Challenge -Response. Could this be causing my problems with email?
    I have a macbook pro & am using the latest Yosemite. But have been having these problems before installing Yosemite. No email problems on an iPad.

    UPDATE for anyone who's interested.
    I called Apple support. The woman was very helpful and, so far, seems to have corrected my issues. She removed & reinstalled my email accounts. The problem was that the accounts were set up as POP accounts when they should have been IMAP accounts. The authentication is now set to Password and all mail settings are as shown in the Apple's Mail Settings Lookup page.

    I use free Yahoo mail webMail access because folders I created in webmail access doesn't get set up in Apple Mail. While I was searching for post about password and keychain issues, I stumbled on several threads that complain about Mail folder issues, so I'm holding off on Apple Mail.
    On the password and keychain issue that your post is all about.  I've been using login keychain to save and automatical fill my login screens for a year or so successfully, with Safari and Chrome. Automatic form fill also works for Facebook login. Unfortunately, about 4 to 6 months ago, automatic password form fill stopped working with Yahoo webmail, while still worked for GMail (Safari and Chrome). I tried deleting the password entry for my two Yahoo email accounts to start fresh, but neither Safari not Chrome will even ask me if I want to save the password. I was so frustrated that I eventually installed the keypassX 0.43 (password manager) that is quite primitive sompare to OS X's keychain (when it works). Probably no surprise to you yet.
    The surprise, to me at least, is that, for whatever reason, password auto form-fill from keychain started working again for Yahoo webmail login on Safari about 5-7 days ago. Still doesn't work on Chrome!
    Two tips I can share, at least with webmail access:
    1. Password is save only for one of my yahoo mail accounts. When I login in with my other yahoo account, I get no prompt to save the password, and form fill doesn't work when I try to log in a second time with my other Yahoo mail account.
    2. On inspection of my login keychain, I see a webform password item saved for my Yahoo account that works with keychain. The name of the password is: login.yahoo.com(MyAccountName1#). When I open the password item and look in the Access Control tab, I see Safari and Chome are listed as allowed to access this password item..
         I also an "Internet password" item with a name of just login.yahoo.com. When I open the the password item, it looks just like the password item created for MyAccountName#1, but the MyAccountName#2 is listed in the Account field. Inside the Access Control tab, no apps are listed in access permission. I added Safari and Chrome to the lists of allowed app, saved the password item.
    Now when I bring up the Yahoo login page(by bookmark) on Safari, form fill fills in MyAccountname#1 for name and the proper password and I can login in. When I change the name to MyAccountName#2, the correct password is retrieved and I can log in! Alas, it still doesn't work on Chrome.
    BTW, I changed the password item type from "Internet password" to "Web Form password" and saw no difference! I also edited the name to be "login.yahoo.com (MyAccountName#2)" to look like the web form password item that works, but it has no effect either.
    From my experimentation, here's my observation:
    1. A Web Form password item is created for the first account name(MyAccountName#1) for login.yahoo.com and typed as Web Form password. When I log in using MyAccountName#2, an Internet Password is created, but no applications are listed as allowed to access the password item, even when the password item was created after just logged in and logged out to yahoo with the account name and password for MyAccountName#2.
    2. Manually adding Safari as an app that is allowed to use the password item works. Doesn't work with Chrome!
    The version of Safari I'm using is Version 5.1.7 (6534.57.2). My installed version of Chrome is Version 21.0.1180.79 beta.
