Problems with htmlb:fileUpload

Hi, I am trying to implement a JSPDynPage which uses the
fileUpload-Tag. In most cases it works fine but sometimes I can select a file but the next button click (onWork) event is not send to the server.
  <hbj:form id="myForm" encodingType="multipart/form-data">
  <hbj:formLayoutCell id="cf_fimport_2" align="center"  valign="TOP" width="175">
     <hbj:fileUpload id="upload" size="30" accept="plain/text"/>
  </hbj:formLayoutCell>
and the button is defined
<hbj:formLayoutCell id="cf_fimport_5" align="right" paddingRight="7">
  <hbj:button id="bpreview" text='doWork' design="STANDARD" disabled="false"
onClick="work"/>
</hbj:formLayoutCell>
The page is refreshed but no action is done.
Any idea?
Is there a bit more documentation about the fileUpload-Tag ?
Environment:
Windows XP
SAP EP6 SP4 Sneak Preview
IE 6.0
Regards
Edmund

Dear Edmund.
I've exactly the same problem.
In details:
Prerequisites:
1) there is <hbj:fileUpload ...> tag on the jsp.
2) The form is declared as <hbj:form id="....." encodingType="multipart/form-data">
3) There is defined button with handled event e.g. "onButtonClicked"
4) The user will insert any file to the tag
Behavior:
1) The request does NOT consist ANY components. ( I can see in the log )
2) The method "onButtonClicked" is NOT called.
3) Randomly - there is onInitialization() method called.
As it was mentioned by You, the older versions of portal works with the hbj:fileUpload correctly.
I will be very pleased with someone explaining the problem.
Regards Best
Marek
P.S.Very interesting fact: when <the hbj:fileUpload> is empty the request is sent properly - with all the components.

    Hi,
    Have problem with link
    using
    <htmlb:link id     ="action"
    reference= "<%= LINK_URL %>" >
    everything is fine till the END
    link is shown OK
    <a class="sapLnk" id="action" href="link" target="blank"> etc.
    but
    when i receive email
    link is with additional "D" char
    can`t get out where it is adding it.
    <a class="sapLnk" id="action" href=D"link"" target=blank"> etc.

    Did some investigation.
    After MHT file goes to SODD table (and all related ones, where page is parsed to HEX)
    In conversion from hex to soli
    all quotes in HTML e.g. " are converted to =3D=22 text =22
    3D is mark of '=' in HEX
    =22 is mark of " in HEX
    and in some part of document display soli table content all these 3D=22 are replaced by related ascii symbol.
    still can`t get why in all code those 3D=22 and =22 are replaced but in href not. Encoder (some where at point of hex-to-soli and vice versa )is adding only D after href in link (<a href="link">text</a>)
    tried to hardcode link without quotes
    e.g.
    <a href=link>text</a>
    encoder added "D" before link and quote after.
    <a href=Dlink">text</a>

  • Problem with commons-fileupload library.

    Hello,
    I'm using the following code to try and upload files to my Tomcat server from HTTP clients. The code is inside a JSP page. When I submit the form to this jsp page, I get no errors but the file is not being uploaded and the only out.println statement that is printing is the first one that tests if the form is multi-part. It prints true.
         boolean isMultipart = FileUpload.isMultipartContent(request);
         out.println("" + isMultipart);
         if (isMultipart) {
              DiskFileUpload upload = new DiskFileUpload();
              upload.setSizeThreshold(2000000);
              upload.setSizeMax(5000000);
              int sizeThresh = 2000000, sizeMax = 5000000;
              String dir = "c:/temp";
              List items = upload.parseRequest(request, sizeThresh, sizeMax, dir);
              Iterator iter = items.iterator();
              while (iter.hasNext()) {
                   FileItem item = (FileItem) iter.next();
                   out.println(item.getFieldName());
                   if (item.isFormField()) {
                        continue;
                   else {
                        String fieldName = item.getFieldName();
                        String fileName = item.getName();
                        String contentType = item.getContentType();
                        boolean isInMemory = item.isInMemory();
                        long sizeInBytes = item.getSize();
                        out.println("Info: " + sizeInBytes + " " + contentType + " " + fileName + " " + fieldName);
                        File uploadedFile = new File("test.txt");
                        item.write(uploadedFile);
         } Any idea what my problem is?
    Thanks.

    Sorry to keep posting but this gets more complex. Here's the deal.
    The UploadBean works on both Tomcat 4 and Tomcat 5 as long as the code below has not been called yet for the user's session. It is code that asks the browser for authentication. Once this code has been called for the current session, the Upload Bean no longer works.
    Any idea what would cause this?

  • Problem with hx:fileupload

    Hello!
    I have a new problem. I'm using a hx:fileupload tag, but when I write in this input text intead of selecting the browse button I get a javascript error. I have read that is a problem only with IE, so I need to make readonly this field.
    I have also read that a readonly is not easy for an input type file, I have found a solution here
    http://www.codeguru.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-197501.html
    but when I have tried the solution I find a new error, when I click over a submit file my hx:fileuploadis clear and a submit is not executed.
    I dont know why my file is clear.
    Can someone help me again
    thanks

    Sorry, I have no solution for you but I do have the same problem. I have been searching every java site/forum I could found for a solution but no luck so far.
    As soon as the DiskFileUpload upload = new DiskFileUpload() line is executed the program crash with a NoClassDefFoundError: javax/servlet/ServletInputStream. There is no problem creating a ServletInputStream object though. I would also appreciate it very much if anyone could give us any ideas on what might cause this error.

  • Problem with htmlb:chart after upgrade

    We just upgraded from BW 3.0, WAS 6.20 to BW 3.5, WAS 6.40.   Testing revealed that my htmlb:chart would no longer work.  I just got a white screen whether using Internet Explorer or Netscape.  After much digging, I found that the values for charttype changed with this upgrade.  Any value before that was COLS* now is COLUMNS*
    This is just a "for your information" in case you run into this.

    I just tried the same program and I think it works correctly. You have not defined, what correct solution is. You have just stated end result. I am not sure why you get value 12 for user 1 on day 10.03.2004, but I get value 0 for the same. I think I am missing something here. Not sure.

    I have replaced in html page this attribute:
    action="SimpleResponseServlet"with this:
    action="https://localhost:8443/ProvaImageReaderServlet/SimpleResponseServlet"and servlet can read items because there's not redirecting.
    But is it a clear way call directly servlet with https???

  • Problem with commons.fileupload

    I'm using Tomcat 4.1 and before I couldn't get the compiler to find the package until I put it in my %JAVA-HOME%\jre\lib\ext folder. After I did that I could compile just fine. Now when I try uploading a file I get 'NoClassDefFoundError'. I read that this is because I have the jar file in both the %JAVA-HOME% and WEB-INF\lib . I tried running it without having it in %JAVA-HOME% and it made no difference. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

    I suggest taking a look at the user guide, they do some things differently than you do:

  • Maximum file size using htmlb:fileUpload

    Hello Gurus,
    in a bsp application we are using htmlb:fileUpload. It was possible to upload a 43 MB file without problem. But our maximum file size is about 220 MB. We made a test with a 190 MB file. After we hit the post button, the browser disconnects immediately (without timedelay) with the message: page cannot be displayed.
    for me it looks like we hit some restriction.
    any idears how to manage the 220 MB file in the browser beside splitting it into smaller files would be greatly appreciated.
    thx a lot in advance and regards from
    Michael

    Hello again,
    could it be this parameter which is for the limitation responsible ?
    icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB   = 102400
    thx and best regards from Michael

  • htmlb:fileupload goes into infinite loop

    Hello all,
    We use the tag <htmlb:fileupload> in our bsp page. Now if the user enters a file name directly, ie:without using the browse button the user simply enters a filename, say 'Resume.doc' in the input field and hits the save button on the page, then the system is going into an infinite loop and the system hangs, the users cannot proceed further and they need to restart the browser all over again(it is not necessary that the file must exist in the system, the user just types in a file name and performs the save action). This is a cause of concern for some of our customers, they expect that we should provide a meaningful message to the user and the processing should end. Is this a known issue in BSPs ?? Can anyone suggest me how to get rid of this problem ?
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Viqar Ali.

    Hello All,
    I use the following code in my bsp:
    <phtmlb:matrix width="100%" >
      <phtmlb:matrixCell row = "1"
                         col = "1" />
        <phtmlb:formLayout design           = "HEADING_ONLY_SOLID"
                           customizationKey = "<%= controller->context %>" >
        <%-- Upload --%>
        <phtmlb:formLayoutItem label    = "<%= controller->file_label %>"
                               idOfItem = "upload" >
          <htmlb:fileUpload id   = "upload"
                            size = "30" />
        </phtmlb:formLayoutItem>
    Everything works fine if the user selects a file using the browse button to select a file. Instead if the user enters a file name directly, then the system runs into an infinite loop. I have put a breakpoint in DO_HANDLE_DATA & DO_REQUEST of the controller class. However the control doesnt come till this point also and i cannot even debug anything. The breakpoints are hit if the user selects the file using the browse button. If anyone has a similar scenario working correctly in their application pls update me with the code.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Viqar Ali.

  • Problem with iterator in tableview

    Hi, Im having a problem with an iterator in a tableview. Sometime ago I use an iterator in a BSP with flow logic, I created the class fill the methods GET_COLUMN_DEFINITIONS and RENDER_CELL_START. And worked fine.
    Now, Im working in another BSP and this time I wanted to use MVC, so I have been reading but cant figure it out what Im missing out.
    In the controller of my page I add the Interface IF_HTMLB_TABLEVIEW_ITERATOR
    I ridefine the methods GET_COLUMN_DEFINITIONS and RENDER_CELL_START (I think that you dont have to redifine GET_COLUMN_DEFINITIONS but did it anyway just in case).
    This is my RENDER_CELL_START
      IF NOT ( p_column_key = 'ICON' ).
        RETURN.
      ENDIF.
      FIELD-SYMBOLS: <row> TYPE ANY, <col> TYPE ANY.
      DATA: ti_results TYPE ZBSPREP_VEND_T,
                 wa_results TYPE ZBSPREP_VEND.
      ASSIGN p_row_data_ref->* TO <row>.
      ASSIGN COMPONENT p_column_key OF STRUCTURE <row> TO <col>.
      wa_results = <col>.
      DATA: html_bee TYPE REF TO CL_BSP_BEE_HTML.
      CREATE OBJECT html_bee.
      LOOP AT it_results INTO wa_results.
        icon = CL_BSP_MIMES=>SAP_ICON( id = 'ICON_GREEN_LIGHT' ).
      ENDLOOP.
      p_replacement_bee = CL_HTMLB_IMAGE=>FACTORY( id = p_cell_id src = icon ).
    In my table view the column ICON doesnt show anything and the rare part is if I put breakpoint in the method and execute the page doesnt stop.
    So I dont know if Im missing something.
    My tableview layout is this:
    <htmlb:tableView id             = "Monitor"
                                     selectionMode  = "SINGLESELECT"
                                     onRowSelection = "rowSelection"
