Problems with windows 7 installation
I installed my Windows 7 copy from retail disk (thanks to Lenovo's not-so-fast upgrade program) and I'm having the next problems:
- Switchable graphics doesn't work, it shows both energy saving and high performance in power manager but even if I click high performance it won't change it (worked fine in Vista with same bios settings)
- No sound at all, even after I installed the driver from Lenovo's site (worked fine in Vista)
Anyone, help?

Apple's new discussion format, unfortunately, does not allow for any user to give full model info unless said user selects "Other" in their profile.
We need at least the time frame in which your iMac was built (say, Mid-2010) so that we can drill through some possibles. Any further specs you know are also welcome.
Be aware that the 2006 iMacs (the snow-white models) are not and will never be blessed by Apple for Win 7 (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3986), though many of these models may meet recommended hardware requirements. The same would apply if this were a 2006 notebook. In either case, it's "use at own risk."
All firmware updates must be in place for the remaining Mac models to support Win 7. For some iMac 2007 and later models, video firmware updates were also issued to address specific issues not Boot Camp-related. Use Software Update to get these and other suggested fixes, before you do much else.
Once these are in place, check your Windows source. We have heard a few reports of authentic Win 7 ESD images not burning properly on Macs and thus not operating as they should.
Other than that, you can use my recent guide as a framework for loading Win 7.

However, I have been experiencing difficulties installing Windows Vista (SP1, 32bit DVD) via Boot Camp. After partitioning to a 32gb drive, I insert my installation DVD and click "Start Installation." After my computer reboots, the CD drive begins spinning, but then my screen is filled with black. Only a little white blinking underscore appears at the top left.
I've left my computer there for a while, in hopes of something occurring, but to no avail.

There have been some "issues" with BC and the newest Vista which has embedded SP1.
I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit on this box, but I installed it under Tiger and BC 1.3 beta and just kept upgrading.
I recently installed Vista SP1 and BC2.1, but you are starting from the top, so to speak.
I am not sure there is an answer yet for your situation.
Other posters may be of assistance.

Boot Camp Problem with Windows Vista Installation
After putting in the disc and pressing the "Start Installation" button, the macbook pro restarts and and the screen goes gray for quite awhile, eventually the Vista installer loads, but I get the following error and cannot continue:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.
Note: If the Windows intallation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."
I can't put in the OS X 10.5 Disc because the eject button does not work, and i've tried copying the files from the disc onto a flash drive and getting it from there.Windows Install Disc was defective

Has anybody had the following error while trying to download iTunes 10.5? There is a problem with Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run.
Go to "control panel" then "add or remove programs". Highlight "Apple software update" Choose "change" click "Repair" This should do the trick. Then download and install iTunes 10.5 again.

Firstly, are you installing iTunes for the first time or are you updating your current version of iTunes?
If you're installing iTunes for the first time have you tried redownloading the installer package? Perhaps the file you downloaded originally is corrupted...

If you've tried that, then try installing iTunes as your computer's administrator. To do this right-click the install package and choose "Run as administrator".
If you're updating iTunes to the most recent version try repairing the Apple Software Update program on your computer. It's under the add/remove programs.
1. Open the control panel
2. Open Add/Remove programs (called "Programs and Features" in Windows 7)
3. Navigate to "Apple Software Update" in the list and click on it
4. Click on "Change" then select "Repair" (or just select the repair option in Windows 7)
Once you repair this, try running iTunes and the update again.

Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time? -
HT1926 (iTunes) Problem with Windows installer package?
(iTunes) Problem with Windows installer package? I try to install the new version of iTunes but get an error "Problem with Windows installer package. A Program required for this install could not be run." Can anyone help shed some light for me as to how to correct this? I have tried to install the program through Chrome, Explorer and FireFox but have had no success. I have included a screenshot of the error. Hopefully it's visable. Thank you for any help.

Trouble with itunes upgrade I receive an error message problem with windows installer package

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

It is from trying to use 64-bit versions on Macs that have old out of date EFI32 and don't support Windows 64-bit.

You have to either use 32-bit version or modify the DVD which means making a new ISO and reburning with changes, usually using Windows in a VM. -
Problems with oracle 9i installation in windows xp
I am having a problem with oracle 9i installation. I am getting error message like this "jrew.exe has encountered a problem and nees to close" can any body tell how to overcome this problem. I have cleaned registry also. I uninstalled java runtime environment and again installed java but i am still getting the message.

The problem seem the "jrew.exe" file may be currupted.
Remove the file "jrew.exe" and try to reinstall Oracle.

IPhone 3GS SYnc problems with Windows 7 64 Bit
I am having sync problems with windows 7 64 Bit.
The iPhone syncs a few tracks then hangs, a few minutes later itunes tells me the iphone has timed out.
Anyone have any ideas about this. I have tried different USB ports, cleaned the apple USB cable contacts with Servisol, restored the iPhone and reinstalled itunes.
iPhone and iTunes are latest versions.

Ok here's what I did:
1) Connect the iPhone (iTunes had been installed)
2) No MTP driver installation is happening as Windows detects iPhone successfully
3) Open Device Manager
4) There seems to be 2 drivers for iPhone that are active now, although I still can't see which one is the MPT driver you're referring to.
One of them sits under Portable Devices: "Apple iPhone". If I view the details of this driver, it lists the following files:
- C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\UMDF\WpdMtpDr.dll
- C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\winusb.sys
- C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\WUDFRd.sys
- C:\Windows\system32\WpdMtp.dll
- C:\Windows\system32\WpdMtpUS.dll
The other one sits under Universal Serial Bus controllers: "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver". And as indicated by Joe above, it lists the following files when I view the Details:
- C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\usbaapl64.sys
- C:\Windows\system32\usbaaplrc.dll -
Recent problems with Windows Update with Thinkpad 8
Since last week I've started having problems with Windows Update on ny Thinkpad 8. It seems to be related with some recent update. At first I received different error codes. As I don't have many programs on my tablet, I refreshed it and set up Windows and Office again. I ran WU, and after the first update (with 100+ updates) WU was working ok. However, after a second set of updates (probably the most recent) I've started receiving error messages again. Most recently I am receiving code 80070002, and the error seems to affect only the installation of Windows Defender definitions through WU -- other WU updates install correctly, and most of the time I can install Windows Defender updates through Windows Defender. I have already tried the Windows Update Diagnostic tool, but the problem persists.

So I did 16 pixels hole for the conky statusbar. Still I cannot see anything on the top of screen. (Just empty hole)
Problem with windows autoscaling is that it doesn't fullfill whole screen. I can also see two additional small holes at the bottom and right side of screen (eventhought I didn't made those by the config). Strange isn't it?
I put my print screen, hope it tells more about the problem:
What I should to do text? Edit some files, but I dunno which one and how?

I'm not sure about your dzen/conky problem, maybe you need to "unmanage" its window? See the ratpoison documentation.

Thanks.Your system doesn't meet the requirements and that is that. AE has required 900 pixel height ever since CS4. Other than changing your screen res or shuffling around windows there is nothing you can do.
