Process access for the other user

Hi, I want to run a report and want the three other people be able to view this report. This helps with stop the users from running the same report at the same time.
I believe there is 'ProcessSchedulerAdmin' role which can enable administrators to view other people process but I want the users only to be able to view one report no all reports by all users.
I have also tried to change " Process Profile Permission" on permission list and change the (Allow Process Request) to all, but still does not help
I appriciate any suggestions

In the process definition setup, on the DESTINATION tab, add the users or roles that can view the reports for this process only.
When the process runs, these users can view the reports from Report Manager. They will not be able to view it from Process Monitor.
You can also assign users or roles to the NOTIFICATION tab, then when the process runs they will receive a link and give them direct access to report manager to view that specific run.
If you use NOTIFICATION tab, the users must have an email address defined on their User Profile.

I am logged in as a 'guest' on a computer that is used by others. I would like to totally hide my browsing history by 'resetting safari' but wonder if this will cause problems for the other users....Or does the resetting just apply to the guest?

anything, including resetting, that you do as guest should not affect other users who log into their own accounts. Just logging out of guest should remove the obvious history/cookies etc although of course it's possible for an admin of that computer to keep track of some info.

Minimal access for the end users to access a page sharepoint.

I have a list Projects which i have put in a different aspx page by the name ProjectPage.
I have end users accesing that page where i have applied certian styles for dsplaying in a customized way.
However, i need to configure their permissions in such a way that they should be able to access any page other than the project page.
They should not even see the site actions bar and should not be able to access the _layouts/viewlsts.aspx page as well as settings page form the address bar.

To restrict application page, either you can hide them from UI (but still be accessible by putting direct url) OR create a custom permission and uncheck "view application page" option. Refer this link for more info:

We just received our new mac and took it to the store to have the old files from our last computer transferred over. Now we can't find all our files. There was more then one user on the old machine. How can we find the files from the other users?

We need to find where the files for the other user on the computer are now located. There were two other users on the old machine, which was taken into the store and ALL files were suppose to be transferred over to this computer. HELP!

It appears what happened is the installer though it was looking at a empty drive and just went ahead and installed.
I of course am assuming here you didn't use Disk Utility to format the drive first before installing, that would wipe out your files and programs for sure.
So what to do, what to do.
Well there is hope for you as long as the drive wasn't Filevaulted.
I'll explain. When a hard drive writes data for the first time to a drive, it starts at the very top and works it's way down.
When OS X was installed the first time, it was at the top of the drive, unless you upgraded then the upgraded OS X could have been written elsewhere.
Now when you just reinstalled OS X, the new OS went on the top of the drive, overwriting any data that was there previously, so what was there you have lost forever which is about 8GB or so. If it was the previous OS there, then your more in luck because only the old OS X was overwritten.
The remaining space on the drive still can have a copy of your files, provided it's not overwritten yet.
It's because when a hard drive deletes data or reformats, it doesn't remove the data off the drive or overwrites it immediately, it's just made so it's SPACE is available for new files to be written there.
So technically one can recover the deleted data off a non-encrypted/scrubbed hard drive with special software.
The way it does this is it reads the 1's and 0's of the files themselves, and through a lot of figuring out, can tell what that file is and what it belongs too.
So what you will have to do is this:
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
or if you don't have the skills, then take it to a local PC/Mac tech and they can do a direct image of the drive and then you can run Data Rescue on it to rebuild your files.

Changed Ulimits values for the Oracle user and getting error -bash: ulimit: max user processes: cannot modify limit: Operation not permitted when logging in.

I'm trying to increate the ulimits for max user processes and open files for the oracle user. I've set the values in limits.conf, /etc/profile and in oracle's environment scripts. Now when I log in as oracle I get the below errors. If I change the ulimits back to the original values errors go away but ulimits aren't changed.

I modified the /etc/security/limits.d/90-nproc.conf and added a line for oracle and also modifed the oracle.sh file. The ulimits are setting correctly when I su - oracle but they are still wrong when sshing in as oracle.

That is correct... I know the Admin password but the password for my keychain is not correct and I can't seem to remember what the last password would have been. Any ideas how to reset it? Maybe delete and recreate? I know I may lose some info. Thanks!

Users with same configurations - one has access not the other

Hi all,
I have a real mysterious problem.
On the same computer, installed with "Cisco VPN Client v5.0.07.0410", one user can connect to the VPN and not the other. Both users uses the same Dynamic Access Policies on our ASA firewall. We are certain that the users entered the correct name and password. But one can enter in our network and the other gets an "Authentication failed" message directly in the "User Authentication" window.
Has someone an idea to help us solve this problem ?
I provide you here a log file of the problem (IKE.log level 3), if you think you need an other, please ask.
In this log, I have the feeling that the cause (and maybe the solution) is around event 293, but......not sure.

Never mind, disregard. I went in and reset my password to my AirPort Express, and for some reason, it then went through, and is all working and good.

Try assigning the P_ABAP authorization objects which is used during the authorization check for HR Reports.
Give the report name in the REPID field
and in the COARS give 0,1, or 2 depending on the degree of simplification required.
Different values for COARS
: Authorization using
COARS = <BLANK> or no authorization. The authorization checks are to be processed as in
Authorization using
COARS = 1.The authorization checks for the infotype/subtype combination and for organizational assignment are to be checked separately. Multiple sessions for the same user

Hi,
The scenario is like this. The user is logged into the system using JAAS and
has a session object created. I want to create a new session for the same user
with the already available credentials. This is to provide the same user the access
to the application in another window with different session object. How can do
that in Weblogic 8.1 server ?

I think it would be easier to enable session time out settings using GPO considering you work in a domain environment..
Having session timeouts settings you could say... hey after 15 min of inactivity disconnect the user and then after 15 min of disconnected session log him off

I cannot see other user's tables via the OTHER USERS link

I'm using SQL Developer version 1.5.0.53 Build MAIN-53.38.
I log into the database as a user who has SELECT access to tables in other schemas via a ROLE.
In the SQL window, I can select from those other tables as I expect.
But, when I go down to the bottom of the screen and expand the Other Users link and then go down to one of the schemas that my account can select from,
no tables appear.
I've tried a couple of things so far to no avail.
1. I first granted SELECT ANY TABLE to my account. I then killed my SQL Developer session and started a fresh session. I'm seeing the same results.
2. I saw a post in here that said I needed to grant SELECT on the ALL_USERS view. So I removed the SELECT ANY TABLE privilege and granted the SELECT on
ALL_USERS to my account. Once again, I killed the SQL Developer session and re-logged in. Same results.
Is this a bug?

well, it turns out I'm not as dumb as I though. My end user could still not select from other user's Materialized Views. Some more research showed that granting either SELECT ANY TABLE or SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE fixed the problem for him. I'm sure that a more restrictive grant on one of the DBA_ tables would also work (probably DBA_MVIEWS) but I've not tried that.

Microsoft Word Has Not Been Installed for the Current User

Hi, everybody
I'm just starting our attempt to put together ZfD app packages for MS Office 2007. I've tried 2 different route with poor results for each. I'm looking for guidance and suggestions and, hey really, the simple final solution. :)
Objectives: Each app package will install locally one of the Office apps (e.g., Word) if it is not installed and then launch it, otherwise it will launch it. It gets installed locally to the C: drive using all the MS default choices, but runs from the desktop ZEN/NAL shortcut. All desktops are XP, not Vista or W7.
Routes tried and failed...
1) Simple app, uses distribution and run scripts to figure out if already installed, then installs using network shared drive and config.xml file for just the one app. The result ought to work -- no particular error in the package, those are fixed -- but what happens is something different each time with the MS setup.exe, and it never does complete without its own error (various and different each time). So, this appears to be completely unreliable because launching MS's setup.exe from a simple app is unpredictable and incomplete.
2) Snapshot of a successful setup.exe and config.xml install. This ALMOST works... well it does in fact work but the snapshotted app gives an error once it finishes launching -- "Microsoft Word Has Not Been Installed for the Current User" -- and exits. From the research I've done on this message, the MS program sees the "wrong" Windows profile on the destination environment, compared to that in the snapshot, and figures it's now been installed from a bootleg copy of Office 2007.
At this stage all I can think of is expletives. We've paid for everything, I've followed all the usual and customary steps, played by the rules, been polite (and also used the necessary computer swear words), and now I just want to insult everyone in Microsoft's marketing department for ruining everyone's life yet again. Can't we just do this, is it too much to ask!?!
Please help me. What is really going to work for distributing and maintaining Office 2007 apps using our ZfD environment? ALL USEFUL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME. Thank you. Bless you.

Novell did not design Microsoft's Office Install.
I have nothing against snapshots, but it does not work great with the Office
installs, which you yourself know since you are posting here with problems
based on that.
And your other method you are trying with the break out is not working well.
We also know that from experience.
We can tell you that the way most people install it and the way most people
succeed doing it, is by doing it the way recommended and designed by
Microsoft.
ZEN does that just fine.
