Process chain is not getting scheduled

Hi all ,
Process chain is not getting shceduled , i have saved , checked and wanted to activate but its going to a loop and its not getting activated . please suggest some solution

Can you check that your user has the necessary authorizations to schedule a job? Can you also check if there
is an error message generated in sm21 or dump in st22? You say as well that the scheduling is looping, in sm50 what
table/statement is the process looping over? Can you also let us know your BW release and support package level.

Process chain was not getting trigerred

Hi Experts,
Chain "Weekly MSA Loads - Full Process" is not getting triggerred.
This chain is set to run after completion of ABAP program.
On 16th Jan, ABAP ptogram was successfully completed.Then ""Weekly MSA Loads - Full Process"" chain status was set to running (yellow). But no job was created. It got hung for more than a hour.
So we tried to trigger that chain with immedaiate option. We got an option "Server for scheduling". We didnt provide any server name. Then pressed Ok button. From then onwards, server went to refreshing state, but no job was created(BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER) and chain is not at all getting trigered.
We got the follwwing messages:

So we cancelled that step (STOP transaction). From that day onwards this chain is not all getting trigerred in any way. We have checked the status of last log in RSPROCESSLOG table, its status is 'X'.
Please let us know to trigger this chain.

U told a program gives trigger to this Chain.............that means the Process chain is event based..........just right click on the Start process >> Change Selections >> Click on After event.......just cross check.......
Now copy the event from there..........Just to cross check that whether this event is a part of any Event collector or not.............this may be one of the possibilities............bcoz........if this Event is a part of an event collector..........then until all events get regisretered..........this chain will not trigger........So......Go to SE16 >> table name RSEVENTHEAD >> there in the EVENT field give the event name >> execute............if it is a part of a event collector..............Copy the event collector name from there........
then go to RSA1OLD(if u r in BI 7.0 .....otherwise RSA1)............in the top TOOLS tab >> Event collector >> Press F4 in the Event Chain(Name) field........search for the event collector name here...............now check whether all the events got registered or not...........
Now look..........BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER is the trigger job............after completion of this job only the chain will trigger......How u checked that the job was not started...........in SM37?..........look if so ..then there will be many BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER jobs............it is quite difficult ti identify the right job..........So the best way is.............right click on the Start process >> Display messages >> BacKg tab >> Click on Batch Monitor.................there u will be able to find the BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER which is going to trigger that particular chain..............u r saying the job did'nt started.............was the Start process in release state............this may happen.............if load is huge at that time in the system............I mean if many jobs trigger at a time..........there will be no free work process........
Sometimes the chain may start when the loads will reduce.............otherwise u should contact the basis people................
Anyways............u trigger the JOb manually right.........here I want to tell u one thing..............never Scedule a time based or Event based chain by right clicking on the Start process........and from there Change selection..............I mean to say never change the Start variant..............What u should always do...............go to the Planning mode of the chain.......Right click on the stsrt process >> Display scheduled Jobs >> Take one Released job..........in the top Job tab >> Repeat scheduling >> Immedite >> Uncheck the periodic job Check box >> Check and save.........
If u do in this way.............the original settings of the chain will never change............what I guess .........that the Event is removed fro the Settings of the Start Variant..........again u hav to schedule the Chain.......

Process chain infopackage not getting executed.

Hi,
We have a process chain in which one of the element for infopackage is yellow for more than last 5 hrs. On checking batch jobs i can see that job is ready but not getting executed.
I had gone into infopackage and pressed start but still it is showing old status.
I need to understand what is the problem and how it can be resolved ?

Hi Babu,
If the data has arrived into BW sysstem and the process chain has stuck. Then you can push the chain ahead of that step. Run the function module RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH in transaction SE38 The field entries required to run this function module can be collected in the table RSPCPROCESSLOG in traction SE16. Just provide the entries "Process Variants" and "Instance ID" and run execute the table and you will get all the required field entries to run the function module. usually give Log id, type, varient, instance id and status in function module and run. this will push ur chain ahead. The entries "Process Variants" and "Instance ID" in the process chain can be collected by right clicking the failed load and click on Chain tab.
Note; The status you have to set to G.

In a metachain local chain are not getting triggered

Hi ,
I dont see any reason why Process chain is not getting triggered . Just check the Metachain in change mode and activate it again .
Also please check display variant in all of the Local Process chains .It should be using metachain .
2. Can you please check the status of the Previous local Process chains and check the status of the same in tables RSPCPROCESSLOG , RSPCPROCESSCHAIN .The status should be successfully finished .

Process Chain : 0PM_INIT_P01 - Not Shown in RSPC

Dear Friends
I have installed 0PM_INIT_P01 (Initialisation:MTTR / MTBR) Process chain.
It installed successfully.
But i could not able to see in RSPC.
Can anybody tell me why it is...?
Some where i found authorization object S_RS_PC is needed for my user id. Is it so...?
Than how i can map to my user id...?

Problem is, the installed process chain is not getting displayed in RSPC for further operations.
Before that, I have installed the Process Chain through business content (0PM_INIT_P01), and it got successfully installed. I had seen in SM37.
For testing purpose i have given the same name (0PM_INIT_P01) for another chain creation.
But system telling the name is already available.
My confusion, why it is not getting displayed in anywhere in RSPC.

Process chain is not triggering through event after BW Upgrade

Many of our process chains are event based.
After BW upgrade 7.0 to BW 7.31 we tried to trigger the event through SM64 Tcode. But the process chains are not getting triggered.
Could anyone please guide me what might be the issue.

Infopackage in process chain is not scheduling

One of infopackage in process chain is not scheduling and showing error message like "<b>Attributes are not yet maintained
Entire chain now has status 'R'</b>
what do we mean about this
can anyone will let me know in detail and how to correct this?

Hi balaji,
how big is your process chain ? I got a similar problem when I build a metachain with a lot of processes in the chain (more than 60). In this case, the error message is deceiving. If your process chain has similar numbers of processes, check OSS 942804 (Jobcount handling).

Service desk-Email Triggering Action is not getting scheduled

Hi,
I have scheduled an action wherein a mail will be triggered to reporter whenever the status changes.
But this is not happening inspite of all the proper settings maintained in Conditions for Actions.
This thing is working properly in my Development system but not working in Production system
I have tried all the possibilities but still not able to reach any solution.
Could you please suggest me something.?

I checked SCOT settings too.
The action is not getting scheduled only so email triggering will not take place.
I cant see the action in Transaction Data of support message.

Certain Maintenance Plan not getting scheduled in the background job

Hi Gurus,
I am facing an issue here.
A weekly background job (RISTRA20) runs every weekend and schedules the maintenance plans.
But we have noticed that some maintenance plans are not getting scheduled. i.e no orders or schedule is getting generated.
When I run IP30 manually for these plans then the schedule gets generated and orders get called.
I have checked up the background job and it is running fine.
Also, i have noticed a similarity in all these plans which are not getting scheduled. There schedule has been restarted (through IP10) at somepoint or the other.
But i don't see any direct impact of this?
Can any of you provide some help on this?? Points will be rewarded.

Thanks for replying.
The message number for 'Groups don't match' is ME303.
I think this does not have anything to do with the restart as i have done further investigation.
Whenever I run IP30 with sortfield input as AS02*, i get the error as mentioned above for a certain number of maintenance plans while the remaining plans get scheduled.
If i run IP30 for any other sort fields, it runs fine and i don't encounter the error
mentioned above.
If you send me ur email address, i could forward you screen-shots of the issue.

SC - Item in transfer process - PO is not get created

We are in extended classic senario , SC is showing status as Item in transfer process - PO is not get created .

Other customer has also reported this issue and the fact that it is
happening sporadically. Hence Development has created a report for this
issue, please see the below note:
729967: Shoppng cart:Status I1111,no follow-on docs->analysis report
Please run the above report and then check the effected shopping carts.
Also I would recommend the following note to be implemented:
1233037: BBP_MON_SC: Shopping cart transfer ends in status I1111
Please implement both notes and run the report. This should help with
this issue.

Error in process chain DTP not executed

In a process chain we have a event passing information from one cube to another that stops and do not go until the end of the job. But it doesn't happen all the time, which is rather strange.

Process chain load not triggered automatically

Dear Experts,
I have created a process chain which goes like
Start >> Create Index >> Load Infopackage 1 >> Load 2 >> Load 3 >> followed by 3 more load infopackages...followed by Delete Index and subsequent process like Rollup and DB stats.All the infopackages loaded into same data target.
When the chain gets triggered first Load infopackage is succesfull later subsequent jobs did not trigger.
But if i Right click on next process and click "Repeat" the job starts and load gets succesfull. The same case with rest of the loads.
why arent they getting triggered automatically one after other.
is there any solution to the problem ?

Hi Ellora,
   In your scenario, I strongly suggets you to use the "Delete Index" only once since the data target is the same for all Infopackages. Again use "Create Index" only use. You can accomplish this by using the AND process greatly.
   The flow may be like this...
                     START
                   DELETE INDEX
                  LOAD1     LOAD2   LOAD3
                      AND
                       |
                     CREATE INDEX
Ensure that you have scheduled the process chain in the START Variant.

Process chain is not triggering

We have around 4 process chains. these are triggering by an event and these are triggeing since 1 month.
We have checked and tried to run them direc scheduling with immediate option. But no use and the process chain will show in yellow and no log.

Process chain is not activating

I am trying to schedule process chain, but giving error message like below.
Job BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER Could not be activated (return code 8).
Can you please tell me what it means and how can i activate it.

Follow the steps given in OSS NOTE 947690.
Summary
Symptom
The activation or scheduling of the chain fails with the return code 8. You get the message "The job xxxxxx could not be scheduled"(or activated).
Other terms
Return code 8,rsm702,rspc065.
Reason and Prerequisites
1. The user type of background user is incorrect.
2. Invalid host name setting.
3. Server name spelt wrong or wrong case-sensitivity for server name in sm51.
4. Process chain scheduled to run on a server which does not exist.
5. No instance is defined but the operation mode is set in sm63..
Solution
1. Set the background user profile according to note 511475.
2. Check the host name setting in sm65 and correct if necessary (refer note 23538).
3. Check the server settings in sm51 i.e., check for the spelling and correct case.
4. Schedule the chain with a valid server.
5. Maintain an instance of operation mode in rz04
You can try executing RSPC_EXECUTE_USER program. This switches between the scheduling by the current user and the scheduling by the BW background user (Note 640746)

Problem kicking off process chains using Tivoli Job Scheduling

In our pre-production BW system testing,when the process chains are being kicked off through Tivoli,they are not working.
We dont get issues when the chains are run directly in BW,without using Tivoli.
The jobs with 'after event' RSPROCESS setting that kick off next node on each node's completion,are not leaving out a 'copy' after a scheduled run.
So in the next run from Tivoli,the dependency job isnt there in scheduled status,which fails the chain.
We tried manually copying the dependency jobs on the nodes.Doing this,chain does kick off from Tivoli.But again jobs dont leave copies and next run from
Tivoli fails.We tried using 'periodic job' setting.This leaves copies of job.But then why is BW able to copy out and kick off jobs,while this isnt happening when kicked off through Tivoli.
A node in the process chain is BLUE when it has a scheduled job ready in sm37,but turns GREY(no scheduled job is there in sm37),once the Tivoli kicks off chains after the manual copy.
We suspect this either to be a authorization problem or an issue with how it works when kicked off through Tivoli.Process chain 'context' is somehow not created when it runs through Tivoli.
Anyone seen such an issue before?Suggestions are welcome..

Hi Manfred,
The chain does get kicked off from Tivoli.
But the job fails in Tivoli as..when it tries to hand over execution to the 1st local chain in the 'meta chain' the required job isnt there in scheduled status,with the 'after event' RSPROCESS dependency set on it.
