Process Server Log

Hi all,
is any further configuration necessary to view the Process Server Log in NWA BPM Troubleshooting? When logging on with administrator rights I don't see any entry.
What exactly is logged there? All actions related to processes or only the server? So far I haven't found any log that shows the data (context data and log) for finished processes, is there a special log for it?
Thanks,
Mane

Hi,
You can monitor the processes using the Manage Processes application, which is part of SAP NetWeaver Administrator Operation Management. With this application, you can perform the following:
u2022     Monitor process instances and view their details
u2022     View the process flow of the instance and check the current workflow step of your process instance
u2022     View all the running processes, failed process instances, or all processes in error state
u2022     Search for process instances using the advanced search option
u2022     Analyze the process instance details and take an appropriate action, for example, suspend, resume, or cancel a process
Procedure
1.     Log on to the NetWeaver Administrator (NWA) application.
2.     Select   Operation Management  Processes and Tasks  Manage Processes  .
3.     To display the process instances, perform the following as required:
o     To view all the running process instances, in the Show field, select All Running Process Instances.
o     To view the process instances in error, in the Show field, select Processes in Error State.
o     To view the process instances that failed to execute due to infrastructure issues, in the Show field, select Failed Processes Instances.
o     To search for a process instance, choose Show search pane and in the Find Process Instance field, enter the process instance ID. You can also search for process instances using the Advanced search option.
4.     To view the details of a process instance, select the required entry from the list of process instances.
The system displays the details of the selected process instance in different tab pages as described in the table below:
5.     To temporarily stop a running process instance (with In Progress status), select the process instance and choose   Actions  Suspend  .
6.     To start a process instance that is in Suspended status, select the process instance and choose   Actions  Resume  .
7.     To cancel a process instance, select the process instance and choose   Actions  Cancel  .
The process instance is canceled and all its related task instances are deleted.
8.     To view the process flow of the instance and check the current workflow step of your process instance, select the process instance and choose Process Flow.
To view all the tasks related to a process instance, select the process instance and choose Show Tasks.

  • How to monitor a Process Server or a Queue?

    Hi
We are using Redwood CPS as our Enterprise Scheduler.
In the recent months, the below issue has happened twice.
The error message I could read in the Redwood Process Server Log is below
JCS-116011: Permanent communication failure: Unknown Host : HOST.domain.com
I am not sure what breaks the connection.
Two Questions that run in my mind:
    1. Does this issue directly relate to any known issue anyone aware of?
    2. How do I setup monitoring on the Process Server or a Queue so that when they go down I get an e-mail or something at least?
    Can someone guide me please?

Build M33.106 is not available in service market place yet.
SAP informed that customer can not find information on the next build release date from Product Availability Matrix (PAM) or anywhere from SAP site.
Is there a way to get his information from Redwood site? Like when is the expected date for next release of the build?
    Thanks

  • Power Bi for o365 - Odata connection test worked but "The server encountered an error processing the request. See server logs for more details". Port 8051? Authority\System

We set up the Data Management Gateway and created a new data source (odata to SQL via sqL user)
Did a connection test and it was successful!
Tried the URL (maybe it needs more):
    https://ourdomain.hybridproxy.powerbi.com/ODataService/v1.0/odatatest
That resolves to some :8051 port address and then spits out this message:
The server encountered an error processing the request. See server logs for more details.
I checked and the data management gateway is running.
Does that 8051 port need to be opened on our firewall for this server? How can I confirm that is the issue.. I see no event on the server indicating this is the issue?
    I am seeing this event:
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM'. Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database 'PowerBiTest'. [CLIENT: IP of the Server]

    O365,

  • Crystal Report 2008 results "Password did not match error" in SQL Server Log

    Hi,
I am trying to develop some crystal reports using Crystal Report 2008 SP4 to connect to SQL server 2008 through RDO (ODBC). My problem is that anytime Crystal Report is trying to establish a connection with SQL Server, first it tries to connect with the wrong password and results the following error message in SQL Server log:
Login failed for user 'peyman'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. [CLIENT: 192.168.2.198]
The login name 'peyman' is the right one as I have quoted the same in setting up ODBC System DSN using "SQL Server Native Client 10". But somehow Crystal Report is taking its chance and trying to connect before prompting me for the password. After this error logged to SQL server side, I can see Crystal Report pops up the prompt to enter DSN password. After supplying password to this prompt, Crystal Report works fine and pulls the data and renders the report without having any more incorrect password error logged to SQL Server.
The attached file shows the step I am taking to regenerate the issue. I need this to be fixed as anytime uses any of these reports and tries to render it with crystal runtime engine the same error message raises in SQL Server side and logged in the log file.
    Thanks,

    Hi Peyman,
This is the way it should work, In CR designer when you open the report it does nothing. As soon as you hit the Refresh button then CR tries to use the connection saved with the report. It assumes what is saved with the report is a valid server and connection info. CR simply tries to verify the server is still active.
If you don't want it to fail in CRD then before opening any report Click the File, Log on Database option and connect. Now when refreshing reports it won't log the failed.
In the SDK it does the same thing, it assumes the Server info is the same and does try to connect to verify the Server does exist. It only takes a few milli-seconds to do this
To stop this from happening set the log on info first then it won't log the attempt to connect, it's checking to see if Trusted is allowed.

Notice it doesn't try to connect first if I set the log on info first using code.
So nothing we can do to stop SQL server from logging this info. Check with the DBA, possibly they can "filter" out the application attempts to connect or change your work flow in the app.
If you have a Preview Button to view the report then simply add your Database log on info prompt there if Connectioninfo.Trusted is not true:
    mainSecureDB = rpt.Database.Tables[tableIndex].LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity;
if mainSecureDB = false then prompt the user for log on info and set accordingly, if it is true the it should not fail when it connects.
This is simply a matter of changing your App work flow...
    Thanks

There is no server-config under Configurations. Do
you know how to do this for this version of the app
    server?Right.
There is only one "config" available for Platform Edition. So, can
    you try:
    - Click on Application Server in the left panel.
    - Right hand side, third tab is "Logging". Click there.
    - Second tab below is Log Levels. You can see various component
(module) log levels there. The default is "INFO" for all.
    I tested this on 9.0 PE - b48.
    Hope this helps.

CS4 Premiere: Can't open due to inaccessible to Importer Process Server:
    Dear Guru:
    After subject:
    I uninstalled it;
    Re-installed it;
    Reopen it,
No luck, same error message ...
A friend's wedding reflash is set on 12/22, I have yet to open my Premiere?!!! Heeelp... Please...
    Appreciate !

    Hi, Jeff:
My system is XP; before the premiere worked well.
More detail story: Premiere could not open 3 days ago, no fix, some one sent me a crack software, I used it, no luck. Another nice guy told that is for non-legal Premiere, surely it won't work.
I tried to remove Premirere; difficult; some one suggested me to use Adobe CS4 cleaner from Adobe. Then it was removed. I re-install Premiere; During the process, abnomal thing I remember was: I can't input product S/N, so I had to use 30-day trial.
During the installation, it was stopped by Windows Installer issue, I restarted Windows Installer, then the process continued...
I have two log files, don't know how to attach into this message. But, can't find any problem therein.
Heverever, when I tried to open newly installed Premiere, error message says: ---can't open, reason is exactly same with very beginning: Can't communicate with Inporter Process Server....
    Appreciate!

  • GF 3.1.1 - java.security.AccessControlException: access denied - server.log

I am upgrading an old NB4.1 produced JSP system that runs on Netscape iplanet to NB7.0.1 built JSP system running on Glassfish 3.1.1. I have four main files: login.html, login.jsp, ApplicationRmiConnection, and MenuManager.jsp . Three of four are working. The login.html is only a startup means to be sent to the login.jsp. The ApplicationRmiConnection is a servlet called by the login.jsp. It reads a properties file, establishes connection with the RMI and database (currently on the OLD system (Netscape iplanet)) which it does quite well. After the ApplicationRmiConnection is established and working the MenuManager.jsp . The first output from the MenuManager.jsp is a series of application.log calls for verification of data passed in from the successful ApplicationRmiConnection database read.
How does GF 3.1.1 loose AccessControl permissions to the server.log to which it is writing? All I am using is application.log statements and it coughs, chokes, and quits.
    My output stacktrace is:

The problem area has been found. We need to know the best method to replace the two lines of code we commented out. Here is what we found.
Glassfish 3.1.1 Security does not play well with old RMI security (JDK1.2 vintage). Furthermore, once the old RMI security has messed with the mind of GF3.1.1 security the GF security truly believes it has in some cases no permission to read its own server.log file.
Here is the offending code commented out in the Server Client Adapter (client wrapper):
Note: this is legacy rmi code. i.e. manually executed rmic on the appropriate classfiles as this was originally created for java 1.2.
    // if(System.getSecurityManager() == null)
    // System.setSecurityManager(new RMISecurityManager());
    remote = (com.davisco.rmi.ServerAppServantAdapter_Stub)Naming.lookup(stringbuffer.toString());
A thank you goes out to www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t276590-access-denied-java-lang-runtimepermission-createsecuritymanager.html even if it is five years old.
Again, this is using the original version of RMI. How do we re-implement the RMI Security Manager without offending GF 3.1.1 security?

  • Monitor Process Server Status

    Hi,
Recently we had an example of a process sever going into the "unknown" state. We didn't know about the condition and jobs were I assume queued up for execution. Since they were not killed or canceled we did not receive any notification.
Is there a simple method of monitoring the process server status that we can then leverage to send some notification in the event of a non "running" status. Thanks.
    Kind Regards,
    David Carr

    Hi
Re: Thanks for the replies. We are on standalone version 6.0.2 SP11
Not sure if this applies with the standalone version, but our Redwood CPS runs on SAP 700 SP15, but the patches I refered to earlier are found on the main screen of Redwood after logging in, and clicking on the 'Product Information' logo (Big letter i) in the top right hand corner. Should say something like:
    Version: SAP 7.00
    Build: M26.17-31458
    What build are you on?
    Cheers

    Hi,
Where do we see step-by-step processing time logs taken by PI (PI 7.1) right from the Sender to the Receiver.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kris

you cant get this information in the Communication channel monitoring for example. there you will see the time that the outbound  message reach to PI and the time when the inbound message was sent to target system.
you can also enrich this information with the processing time in SXI_MONITOR toi check how much time does the server take to execute the pipelines.
also youcan refer in RWB to performance tab and get information about the execution of this escenario in a range of time.

  • WebIntelligence Processing Server fails to start

    Hi,
last weekend we upgraded a working BOE XI 3.0 SP3 + SAP IK XI 3.0 SP 3 to BOE XI 3.1 SP3 and SAP IK 3.1 SP3 (Windows 2003 server). The sequence was:
-Applied the 3.1 upgrade to existing BO XI 3.0 SP3
    - Applied the 3.1 upgrade to existing SAP IK
    - Applied SP3 on top of the new BO XI 3.1
    - Applied SP3 on top of the new SAP IK.
There were some problems but we managed to finish the installation, apparently with no problems; but users complained next day about a RWI 00226 error. We discovered (through the Windows Event manager and the logs) that the Webi Processing Server was unable to start from the first upgrade made (from 3.0 to 3.1). Most of our reports are Deski so we were not aware of that problem at that moment.
We tried to start the server from the CMC but the server entered into 'Fail' status. We cloned the server and deleted the old one but with the same results; we renamed the <BOXIDir>/Data directory but things didn't go better.
Then we were able to reproduce the same actions performed on the production environment, and exactly with the same results: all the other servers were working correctly but WebIntelligenceServer was still unable to start.
I will try to get more information by setting the trace argument to the server, but has anyone experienced the same issue?
    Thanks!

Yes, we deleted the old one, deleted the cache, created a new one, etc. But the same results.
More info about this problem, got with -trace:

  • Process ID logs

    Hi,
I have started a server job using import manager batch. In the logs for import manager batch, I find that the 'Import Server Job' was started under a particular process id.
How can I find out what happened for that process id?
    Regards,
    Anand.

    Hi,
A log file under Import manager batch installation directory will have the information about the process.
Log file is an XML file. This XML file uses the MDM_log(stylesheet file).Open the XML log file in IE. This will have the process details.
To my knowledge, this the only log file i could think for the Import manager batch process.
This log file entries will be in the chronological order.
There will show/hide hyperlink on the right hand side, to view the log in detail.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards
    Subbu

  • Server log showing problems with Mail Server

Ok, so I followed the instructions in that PDF about how to make virtual mail users in 10.5.1 since they are broken. So I did it in the WGM and the Postfix stuff as the document said. Now I get all these errors in the server log and I have no idea how to fix the problem or if what I did was even done right. Here is the error log below:

I did what you said and I don't see all those weird messages anymore, but we switched over our MX records today to our mail server in hopes that it would all work and now no one can get their mail. I can log into the mail server no problem via IMAP, but to send messages is not working. And those using POP don't seem to work at all. Even to send messages the Server is rejecting saying that my messages isn't addresed right. Which it is. I can't even send something to myself. I'm trying not to be frustrated with this thing. I'm just not sure what to do since we have a whole bunch of people needing mail and it doesn't seem to be working and I'm not a mail server expert. Any help would be appreciated.
