Production environment, error in BPELConsole

Hi there,
I had installed, following step by step the installation guides, a production environment on three linux boxes RHE3; one for the DB v10g and in the others two an AS whit j2ee and web cache and obviously BpelPM. I do not installed WebCache AS component because an Oracle guy told me that bpel go crazy if webcache runs.
I can connect BPELConsole, but after the login I get this error message:

Can Anyone help me?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
as you know, your help was very useful.
Maybe is better to add the whole path of file that have to be changed
(only for beginners like me)
IRCA/integration/bpelpm/admin/sql/bpmuser.sql
This is true for DB version 10g release 2 or upper. For the previous versions the original string is enough.
Thanks again,
Stefano.

• Getting error while migrating single mpr from pilot to production environment

Hi,
I am migrating single MPR form pilot to production and I am facing the following issue
Join-FIMConfig : Two objects with same AnchorAttributeValue were detected. A requirement for using this migration tool is that AnchorAttributeValue is unique with objectType
AnchorAttributeNames = DisplayName
AnchorAttributeValues = DisplayName
ObjectType = AttributeTypeDescription
ObjectID 1 = urn:uuid:acbcad3b-8394-4af3-a1d4-149cabae05d1
ObjectID 2 = urn:uuid:9f35c912-18bb-4b73-b128-281be0cae32f
Any help to resolve this issue. The DisplayName is built-in attribute.
Thanks
Pavani

Search these object ID in your production environnement it corresponds to something
ObjectID 1 = urn:uuid:acbcad3b-8394-4af3-a1d4-149cabae05d1
ObjectID 2 = urn:uuid:9f35c912-18bb-4b73-b128-281be0cae32f

• Use of Emigall for creation of masters in the production environment

Hi,
The EMIGALL objects are normally used for migrating legacy master data and/or cut-over data before production environment is up.
I am contemplating to use EMIGALL object for creation of contract account masters in production environment. One more option that I have is to use standard BAPI for creating contract account masters.
Can anyone tell me whether it is proper to use EMIGALL object for day to day creation of master day in production environment. Is there any disadvantage or risk involved in it.
Kindly reply soon.
Regards,
Ganesh

I've already used emigall multiple times to do delta migrations into an operational prod environment.
Purely looking at the functionalities, it should/would/must be possible to use emigall as a master data generator. I just think you need to look into the requirements:
who will use it? end-user/application manager/...
what's the amount of data to be loaded?
what's the time window of the load? Day/night
how is the data supplied?
As you know, emigall EATS system resources like mad, so using it during the day might not be preferable. emigall is also very picky about the file format, whereas in a custom report you can define the input structure yourself.
On the other hand, the error handling and follow-up of emigall is great...
Personally, I'd go for a custom report with a BAPI... It'll give you more flexibility than emigall.

• Adf security misbehaving in production environment

Hi all,
I am using jdev 11.1.2.2 and weblogic 10.3.6
I have implemented adf security from based authentication in my web application and i have used sql authenticator for authentication.
In my integrated WLS everything works fine . but in the production WLS what is happening is when the user access a Protected Page without login it navigates to the protected page instead of navigating him to the login page. In the integrated WLS this happens normally .
Has anyone faced this issue before ? What can be wrong ?
I have added my web.xml

Hi Rakesh,
Make sure you have migrated the policy store to the production server. When Weblogic Server is running in production mode, automatic credential overwrite is not allowed. From the developer's guide:
When the target server is configured for production mode, you typically handle the migration task outside of JDeveloper using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager. For details about using tools outside of JDeveloper to migrate the policy store to the domain-level in a production environment, see the Oracle Containers for J2EE Security Guide. Note that Oracle WebLogic Server running in production mode does not support the overwriting of system credentials under any circumstances.http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26098_01/web.1112/e16182/adding_security.htm#CDDGFDFH

• How to download run time ABAP dump in production environment

Hello,
I am getting run time ABAP dump in production environment. Please guide me onHow to download run time ABAP dump in production environment?
Also, please tell me how best can analyze that dump. Like there are tools like gdb, purify etc. to analyze problems in other languages.
Regards,
Sameer.

Hi,
Go to ST22, and Double click on the error line, It will show you the detailed analysis.
See the section How to correct the error for details on error correction and the instructions to download the log( you can download in the format you want - HTML would be a nice option).
And there are no tools to analyze errors but ST22 has a large data regarding the location of the error, the reason and the source code which caused. So you need to use the debugger to reproduce the error and check the source code,

• How to check transport in Production environment

Hi,
I did some standard configuration as OBYA (Intercompany automatic Posting clearing account) in development Box and get it transported to Production.
I have to verify that the configuration I have done has been transported to Production Environment.
Where should I check? I don't have access to SE16 in Production.
Quick response will be appreciated.
Thanks & Regards.

hi Mehak,
go to transaction SE01 (either in development/customizing or in production system), in the first tabstrip enter the transport number and click on Log (2nd Pushbutton). This will display the Transport Log, and you can see if there were no errors during import into Production System, then your changes are there.
hope this helps

• Configuring SharePoint Apps in Production Environment

SharePoint 2013 Environment. We are trying to configure SharePoint APPS in production environment. It is a medium server farm with two W.F.E's load balanced.
We have the following two DNS entires with two different wildcards pointing to the SharePoint FQDN.
contoso.com
contosoapps.com
Since we are planning to use https, In the DNS we have assigned a random ip address to just the apps domain. Created a new web application with no host header and assigned this IPAddress to this web application by changing the binding (for both http and
https) on both the servers.
When I click on the app, the redirect does not work and displays page not found error. Any help?
V

You said you created a new web app with no host header. Did you also create a root level site collection in the web app? You don't actually use the site collection but it needs to be there. Also make sure that https is the default zone
on that web app. Apps normally only use the default zone for redirecting to the address and if you are using https it won't work unless that is the default zone.

• Help in production environment ASAP please

Hello,
I'm in a middle of a problem right now on our production environment.
I need to read and compare the information inside a long datatype column.
To do this I use the following function to read the long field:
create or replace function getlong_vw( p_tname in varchar2,
p_cname in varchar2,
p_cname2 in varchar2) return varchar2
as
l_cursor integer default dbms_sql.open_cursor;
l_n number;
l_long_val varchar2(32767);
l_long_len number;
l_buflen number := 4000;
l_curpos number := 0;
l_pos_start number := 1;
counter integer := 0;
l_long_txt varchar2(32767);
begin
dbms_sql.parse( l_cursor,
'select ' || p_cname || ' from ' || p_tname ||
' where view_name = :x',
dbms_sql.native );
dbms_sql.bind_variable( l_cursor, ':x', p_cname2 );
dbms_sql.define_column_long(l_cursor, 1);
l_n := dbms_sql.execute(l_cursor);
if (dbms_sql.fetch_rows(l_cursor)>0)
then
dbms_sql.column_value_long(l_cursor, 1, l_buflen, l_curpos ,
l_long_val, l_long_len );
end if;
dbms_sql.close_cursor(l_cursor);
return l_long_val;
end getlong;
But with this, I can only read the first 4000 bytes inside the long field.
What I need, is read more then that, eventually until the 32Kb limit.
So I try to use a while loop before the column_value_long and put the data inside a 32Kb varchar2 variable and return in the end
Something like :
if (dbms_sql.fetch_rows(l_cursor)>0)
then
while l_pos_start <= 32767 loop
dbms_sql.column_value_long(l_cursor, l_pos_start, l_buflen, 0 ,
l_long_val, l_long_len );
l_pos_start := l_pos_start+l_buflen;
l_long_txt := l_long_txt||l_long_val;
end loop;
end if;
dbms_sql.close_cursor(l_cursor);
return l_long_txt;
end getlong;
But I keep getting the error ORA-01007: variable not in select list
Can anyone help me, what I'm doing wrong?
How can I return the value inside a long field until the 32Kb and not only the first 4000 bytes?
Thank you very much in advance
Rui

Sorry guys,
Keith is right, I mess up the code when I made the copy paste.
This is the current function code:
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION Getlong
(p_tname IN VARCHAR2,
p_cname IN VARCHAR2,
p_rowid IN ROWID)
RETURN VARCHAR2
AS
l_cursor INTEGER DEFAULT dbms_sql.open_cursor;
l_n NUMBER;
l_long_val VARCHAR2(32767);
l_long_len NUMBER;
l_buflen NUMBER := 4000;
l_curpos NUMBER := 0;
l_pos_start NUMBER := 1;
counter INTEGER := 0;
l_long_txt VARCHAR2(32767);
BEGIN
dbms_sql.Parse(l_cursor,'select '
||p_cname
||' from '
||p_tname
||' where rowid = :x',dbms_sql.native);
dbms_sql.Bind_variable(l_cursor,':x',p_rowid);
dbms_sql.Define_column_long(l_cursor,1);
l_n := dbms_sql.Execute(l_cursor);
IF (dbms_sql.Fetch_rows(l_cursor) > 0) THEN
WHILE l_pos_start <= 32767 LOOP
dbms_sql.Column_value_long(l_cursor,l_pos_start,l_buflen,0,l_long_val,
l_long_len);
l_pos_start := l_pos_start + l_buflen;
l_long_txt := l_long_txt
||l_long_val;
END LOOP;
END IF;
dbms_sql.Close_cursor(l_cursor);
RETURN l_long_txt;
END getlong;
If I have the while loop function comment, the function works well and return the first 4000 charaters of the long field.
If I try to use the while to get more characters I get the ORA-01007: variable not in select list
What I'm doing wrong?
Thank You

• Proper privileges in production environment

In our environment, we attempt to maintain the policy that developers may not make any code or data changes in the production environment. Developers can however select on just about anything they want to, in order to troubleshoot problems the users bring up. This has been accomplished by granting proper selects to the developers and revoking execution of all stored procedures, since we have stored procedures which perform DML on tables and those stored procedures, by default, are created with "definer" rights rather than "invoker" rights.
The problem is that when the developers select from views which have stored procedure references in them (for retrieving names/descriptions of entities references in foreign key constraints, for look-up code descriptions, etc.), they receive the "ORA-01031: insufficient privileges" error because of the revoking of execute privileges on stored procedures to prevent developers from changing data.
Other than rewriting all of our stored procedures to separate out the "selection / look-up" code from the "DML-type" code, what options are there?
I've looked around online and have not been able to find something to address this -- probably because my search criteria just seemed to bring back too many results that were non-useful.
Shane.

I know you are looking for a quick easy to implement solution but my recommendation would be to fix the following:
ShaneB wrote:
The problem is that when the developers select from views which have stored procedure references in them (for retrieving names/descriptions of entities references in foreign key constraints, for look-up code descriptions, etc.),Why not retrieve the data using joins instead of calling stored functions? Writing code this weigh holds information from Oracle and the optimizer so it often has to use a less efficient access mechanism then it would if it were just performing straight SQL. The other benefit to fixing this is that it also fixes your permissions problem :)

• Production environment with Oracle Database XE.

Hello, let me know which group members using Oracle Database XE in a production environment:
- Description of the business.
- Type environment: (Web, intranet or desktop).
- Programming language used.
- Performance.
Roberto.

We are using Oracle XE as point of sale backends.
Overall architecture:
- Cashier interacts with HTML GUI running in web browser in kiosk mode.
- GUI written in PHP served locally by Apache on point of sale unit.
- point of sale core logic is written in PL/SQL as packages in Oracle XE DB.
- currently, DBMS_JOB runs every 5 minutes to synchronize (push sales, pull data) with inventory server. (want to change to AQs so complete transactions are pushed in real time)
- sales reports, etc run from main Oracle Standard One Edition inventory DB.
Since each point of sale needs to run IE, Apache and Oracle XE we've found that 1GB of RAM is minimum that we can get away with and still have the system running well (cashier should never have to wait for anything; pressing any button on the GUI should react instantly even though it is IE making a local page request, Apache running a PHP module to serve the request, and calling PL/SQL to do the actual data change in the DB).
We've had XE go corrupt (strange errors, bad indexes, etc.) on us several times over the past 2 years. Fortunately in our case, we've never lost any data since sales are pushed to the main server which is backed up. Then, anything in the local XE database is expendable as we can rebuild it and pull back all information from the server. I've tried rebuilding indexes and such rather than completely rebuilding the database but have had no success (fixes for a few hours or a day but ultimately, the database continues to experience problems until the computer is rebuilt).

• What level of access a DBA should have on production Environment

We are in the process of auditing
I want to know what level of acccess a DBA has on a production server..How about the Backups ONLINE/EXport backup? Which account should be used for those purposes...
Can i DBA login as SYSTEM or SYS user? or he should have separate account to do all the activities..
I am more on protecting the data from unauthorized user..Any standards followed for that
Best Regards
Maran

Hi Maran,
What level of access a DBA should have on production Environment
root
However, there have been cases of dishonest DBA's and SA, manipulating data for profit and stealing data:
http://www.dba-oracle.com/art_lumigent_whitepaper.htm
Kevin Mitnick, the noted computer felon likes to show how security breeches are commonly the result of employee errors. In his book “The Art of Deception”, Mitnick talks about his techniques to get trusting employees to disclose confidential information and privileged passwords. In one case Mitnick was able to secure a privileged password using the name Lemonjello, and then bragged about the naïve employee who handed-over a system password to someone called “Lemon Jell-O”. In this case the IT staff was never able to ascertain the root cause of the breech because their mechanism for the dissemination and auditing of secure information was inadequate.
Today, there are ways to seregate the audit trails, giving the DBA what they need to do their job, while not giving them the keys to the kingdom.
Hope this helps . . .
