Program keeps asking user permission after it already been granted

Hi there,
I have enabled parental control on my MBA late 2011, because there are multiple people using it here at home.
Only annoying thing is that certain programs keep asking permission for usage. (firefox, chrome, MS Office, java applets etc.)
it looks like the apps are shuffling the user permissions at random
I have granted them permission multiple times but the question keeps coming back for non administrator user accounts.
Does somebody knows what I can do to fix this problem, without having to grant permission every few weeks.
Thanks in advance!

i am still looking for an answer over here.

  • MIDlet keeps asking for permission

I have created a MIDlet 2.0 using WTK 2.5.1, built it, packaged it and set the JAD midlet permissions to:
    MIDlet-1: nieuwetest, , HelloWorldPlusMIDlet
    MIDlet-Jar-Size: 3091
    MIDlet-Jar-URL: nieuwetest.jar
    MIDlet-Name: nieuwetest
    MIDlet-Permissions: javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.read,javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.write
    MIDlet-Vendor: Unknown
    MIDlet-Version: 1.0
    MicroEdition-Configuration: CLDC-1.0
MicroEdition-Profile: MIDP-2.0Can anyone please tell me WHY both the emulator and my nokia N73 keep asking for permission to read/change files? Am I missing something?
These are the imports I use:
    import javax.microedition.io.Connector;
    import javax.microedition.io.file.FileConnection;
    import javax.microedition.io.file.FileSystemRegistry;

    import javax.microedition.media.PlayerListener;
    import javax.microedition.midlet.MIDlet;Please help me out!

The application keeps asking for each file whether it should allow reading it. Is it possible that this permission has to be granted only once? This seem to be possible only for signed MIDlets, although I am not completely sure.
Per my reading of MIDP 2 security policy ([click here to check the full specification|http://jcp.org/aboutJava/communityprocess/maintenance/jsr118/MIDP_2.0.1_MR_addendum.pdf]), your operations belong to Read User Data Access functional group. As far as I understand, policy allows Session and Blanket *) user settings for this group only if the MIDlet is signed.
It looks like one can perform "trial signing" with WTK to test on emulator how real device would behave with real signed MIDlet. Your version of WTK (2.5.1, right?) has documentation on this, [click here for more details|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5348041&messageID=10508179#10508179].
*) Session, Blanket and Oneshot user settings are explained in [this article|http://dsc.sun.com/mobility/midp/articles/permissions/] as follows: +"...For _oneshot_ permissions, the MIDP implementation retains no memory of the user's decision and will ask for a permission every time it is needed. For _session_ permissions, the implementation remembers the user's decision until the MIDlet is terminated. Finally, for _blanket_ permissions, the user's decision sticks until the MIDlet suite is uninstalled...."+

  • After Updating My Mac Keeps Asking for Permission on Certain Apps

    Hi guys,
I have this problem where my MBPr asks for permission repeatedly to allow one of my apps to access the internet after I updated to Yosemite (NOTE: I didn't have this problem on my previous versions of OS). It is listed on my firewall as allow incoming connections, and it doesn't make sense for me to have to keep allowing it.
It is also the same case with the app that I have allowed access to use the accessibility feature of my mac. Every time I launch, I have to give permission even though it is already listed on my accessibility preference to have permission.
This is what I have done to try to fix it but to no avail: Deleting the app from both of the allowed list and re-adding it again.
I use this app all the time, and having to repeat this process over and over and over again becomes irritating. I would like to have my MBPr to not have to require to keep asking me this, can anyone help me?
The app in particular is Steam.app
    Have a great one guys,
    Peace.

Go to your Utilities folder and open Keychain Access. Follow the steps here: Mac OS X: Keychain Access asks for keychain "login" after changing login password.

  • Firewall keeps asking for permission.

    Hi,
I've enabled Firewall in OX 10.8 but everytime I open an application that can access the Internet, it keeps asking me that whether I want to allow permission the program to do or not. I checked Firewall in system preferences and it does have list of programs that I allowed to connect to Internet, so why it keeps asking everytime I open those programs?
    Thanks.

    Hi guys,
I have the same problem and I just want to add my thoughts.
Ok, fair enough, we don't need two firewalls.
But here is the thing that concerns me. The issue for me is, this asking for permission didn't occur on my mac using mavericks and mountain lion. Why should it appear with Yosemite? I don't understand why it needs to ask for permission repeatedly when I have set the program to allow incoming connections from my firewall settings.
It is also the same case with an app that I have allowed access to use the accessibility feature of my mac. Every time I launch, I have to give permission even though it is already listed on my accessibility preference to have permission. I use this app all the time, and having to repeat this process over and over and over again becomes irritating.
As much as having two firewalls on at a time is not necessary, I believe it is even more not necessary for me have to go through the silly questions if I do chose to leave the firewall on (don't forget the accessibility) and have given permission to let these apps do what they do. To this, I vote that this issue should get some attention by mac and the community.
    Have a great one guys,
    Peace.

  • Keychain keeps asking for permission to

How do I permanently grant keychain access to using the certificate for my MS Exchange and Cisco VPN? Everytime I use these apps keychain asks fro permission to access.

    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
    Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

  • Why does firefox keep asking for permission every time it starts, it never has before?

I'm using Windows 7 and recently used CCleaner to clean my registry and now Firefox asks for permission to make changes to my computer every time it starts. I have checked for viruses and malware, tried running Firefox as the administrator, removed all but one of my add-ons but nothing helps. Any suggestions?

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.<br />
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".<br />
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.<br />
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.<br />
If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.<br />

  • Gmail keeps asking for password after iOS5 Upgrade

I have an iPhone 4 that I upgraded to iOS 5 last night.  It now keeps asking me for my Gmail password.
This isssue is already under discussion here - http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=7059ec7762111ada&hl=en
I've deleted my Gmail account and tried to add it back, yet it keeps giving me the bad password error.  I've reset my password on Google mail and issue persists even when trying to use new password.  Any ideas?
    Corbin

So I removed the buggy GMail account from Mail and waited a day. Today I decided to re-add it and all was well for one hour until the pop up for passwords happened again... I went into Preferences and accounts and saw my password wasn't stored so I added it and saved but still same issue.
Also I added this account to my iPhone and it was working fine til an hour again so maybe a syncing issue?

Our company's https Intranet site worked OK with FF 22. With v23 a small drop down box keeps appearing every time we go to a different page on the site. It asks for permission to load the page. With constant use this is extremely irritating. There is no option to allow the site. What's the fix or should I go back to IE which had its own set of stupid questions.

hello, for details on why this blocking mechanism was introduced in firefox please refer to [[How does content that isn't secure affect my safety?]].
if you'd like to generally turn of mixed content blocking nevertheless, enter '''about:config''' into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''security.mixed_content.block_active_content'''. double-click it and change its value to '''false'''.

  • Script keeps asking for permission to access contacts

I have an Applescript that I've saved as an app. I have it run automatically every night. It goes through my contacts and does some cleanup work for me.
However, the script has started asking for permission to access my contacts on every single run. This didn't happen under 10.9... I believe it started with Yosemite. I'm on 10.10.2 now.
Under Mavericks, if I locked the script, that solved the "ask for permission every time problem."  But that no longer seems to work.
    Any thoughts?

If you post the script, I am sure someone will have an idea what's happening.

  • Software keeps asking for permission to allow access

I have a couple of software that keep asking to allow or not, a connection to the intenet. I select ALLOW .. it shows up in my list of permissions, but every time I start the software, I get asked again ... I had this problem some time back with iTunes, but that was resolved .. now with some 3rd party softwares, the issue remains ... even with the Lion upgrade ... any solutions?

This software doesn't use the keychain .... thanks or the option ...

  • Batch capture bug.... keep asking insert tape after already captured

I know that many ppl also has this problem: after finished batch capture, instead of the "done" screen pop up, it says "continue" or "cancel". If I click "continue" the tape then re-capture. If I click "cancel" then the clips are there "captured".
So is this a known bug? I trashed the preferences but no help. also this is the new installation on the the brand new drive on my quad g5.
anyone has any luck finding out why?
    thanks
    JP

I am also having this issue with FCP 6 after updating from FCP 5. I get the continue button instead of the finished button. Clicking on the cancel button allows the capture to finish, where as clicking on the continue button would just recapture the clip again.
I hope there is a fix for this issue soon.
I also tossed my FCP preferences, but that had no effect on the problem. I also am capturing on a G5 quad 2.5Ghz.
I have an additional copy of FCP 6 installed on my Mac Pro 3.0Ghz Mac and this issue is not there. But I should also say that the install was on a pristine install of the OS X, with no other copies of FCP having been installed before.
It looks as though this may be an issue with the G5/quad Macs.
I'm probably going to wipe the drive on the G5 and install the OS again, to a pristine state again, then install FCP 6, just to see if this issue may be due to a previous copy of and earlier FCP having been installed. Sometimes updates don't work and a wipe of the drive an fresh install of everything is needed.
This is defiantly a new issue for me, but I have also had other issue in the past that required this draconian kind of measure to fix past issues.

  • Firewall keeps asking for permission to allow incoming...

Help! I have a simple Intel MacMini system running OS X 10.5.5 (Client) with a few web services running on it. It has run for years without problem (mostly Tiger, more recently Leopard). Recently have been having problems with the Leopard Firewall asking permission for 'incoming' every time I start the machine. This is a real pain - in particular because it seems if you don't get to the dialog asking permission in reasonable time, OS X Firewall assumes an answer 'No' and short of rebooting there doesn't appear to be any way of telling it you want access allowed.
Just for clarity - all the apps in question are in the 'Allowed Apps' list already, and set to "Allow Access". Also, I recently moved the server from an old CoreDuo Mac Mini to a new Core2Duo Mac Mini - using Migration Assistant. The server is running the following useful apps:
    CommunigatePro mail server
    Parallels Desktop running Win2K server
    PureFTPd Manager
Apart from Activity Monitor, nothing else runs on the machine.
The problem applications are CommunigatePro, Some 'Helper' applications for CommunigatePro, and PureFTP (installed / run via PureFTPd Manager).
I am guessing that this is either a permissions thing (perhaps OS X Firewall can't 'mark' the app as having permission - if that is what it does), or an app signing thing - the apps that are causing problems are third party sourced. But all have worked reliably under Leopard and Tiger for ages - so I don't think it is necessarily someone else's (i.e. not Firewall's) fault. Also I have run Disk Utility to check permissions - and it has found nothing to fix.
    Anyone got any ideas?

I hit the same problem. In my case the problem was related to a downloaded JDK that included source code for Java development. This new JDK was installed at the default location /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0_26-b03-383.jdk/. Some of my scripts use this version of Java and those are the ones that were giving the warning. I was not able to add this Java to firewall settings because the stupid UI would not allow me to navigate to that directory. I am not sure what prevented it from going past /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0_26-b03-383.jdk/ directory but that was the reason why I could not add an allow rule for that java executable. Anyways, the command line solution to this was to run -
    sudo /usr/libexec/ApplicationFirewall/socketfilterfw --add /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0_26-b03-383.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java
This added the second java into firewall rules. In your case I would suspect there is another version of java executable that is run to the one that you have already allowed. If you right click and the java rule and do show in finder you will probably be able to figure out if you are indeed using the allowed java.

  • Keeps asking for password after I have logged in--Why?

I keep my Mail program on all of the time. But several times per day it will ask me to log in with PW. If I ignore this and cancel, then tell it to go on line with all mail addresses it works fine for some time. Then it starts over with asking for PW. I have DSL and am on line 24/7.
    Any suggestions?

Some ISPs refuse connection attempts if they are too frequent, or limit the number of simultaneous connections that are allowed from the same IP address, or the account may have become full, or there might be a problem with the network, or there might be a problem with the server...
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list.
What’s the time interval chosen in Mail > Preferences > General > Check for New Mail? If it’s set to Every minute, try changing it to Every 5 minutes.

  • Cloud keeps asking for serial after login, photooshop cc, flash builder, flash pro cc

I can't use my cloud product because it's asking for a serial, after I login with an active adobe account, assigned to a cloud seat. The Cloud account holds many seats bought few month ago. From the start, random computers/account will ask for serial and never activate.
It's really bothering hearing that adobe is forcing everybody on cloud when they can't even make the activation work everywhere, without displaying any message or reason why.
The support tel number is a Joke :
    800 443 81 58
In the country I'm living in, the national operator, the 2nd cable tel operator, the 2nd mobile phone operator won't accept this number, it doesn't even ring.
Weirdly when I sent the money transfer, from this country, it worked fine the first time.
Please inform me why my account won't activate and give me a solution

Photoshop CS6 after being replaced with CC and only after applying its first update worked.
Here, not any message said that this cloud account was compatible only with CC when i didn't event know photoshop cc existed.
Flash was installed in french, as a trial.
Here is a trace of the network activity on the same computer where flash cc won't activate  I captured before, during and after the refusal of cloud on my account. As you can see, the column result has only success.
How come the server anwser no and no message says why?
Now I get the big picture, there are 20 reasons why it probably won't work, Adobe won't say why at any moment , it's good luck for himself. The worse part is that it is the only business model remaining and it's not refined enough to let the client know what's happening.
If I cant to keep CS6, will the activation fail and not event tell me a new version MUST be downloaded and installed or if the language is not allowed for my account?
