Progress Bar Never 100%

Ok, kind of an odd issue, but I've got a script that can take a considerable amount of time to run due to all the sub-scripts.  Anyway, I've setup a progress bar to work with it so I can tell how far it is.  The only problem is, unless there is an alert or something that pauses the script (like a pop-up), the bar NEVER shows 100% full; even if I use an in-script pause such as the sleep command.  Any ideas how to fix this?  An example script is below and also never reaches 100% filled bar.
#target photoshop
var list = ["one", "two", "three", "four", "five", "six"];
var w = new Window ("palette");
var progress = progress_bar (w, list.length);
for (var i = 0; i < list.length; i++) {
    progress.value = i+1;
    // user functions
    $.sleep (400);
progress.parent.close();
function progress_bar (w, stop) {
    var pbar = w.add ("progressbar", undefined, 1, stop);
    pbar.preferredSize = [300,20];
    w.show ();
    return pbar;
I've also tried adding "w.show();" immediately after the "progress.value = i+1;" and still nothing; but like I said, if an alert pauses the script, it will work right.  Any ideas?
Thanks for any help!

Lol, ok, now I feel stupid.  I actually found the fix for the issue on my own.  To fix it, simply replace the $.sleep(400); with w.update(); (the sleep is pointless and pretty much just slows down your script).

    Do you have any filters applied to your clips?
    This happened to me before, I accidently had applied a broadcast safe filter to a color matte that was black....
    I figured it out by duplicating my sequence and deleting items from my timeline 1 by 1 until I was able to export a reference movie.
    Anywho, export again, this time with "self contained" movie selected.
    Then try to import to Compressor.

  • MacBook Pro, 2012, can't get past boot up screen and the progress bar never fills.

    Any thoughts on why or a different command that I can try while powering up?
    I press the power button, and it dings per usual. Then the first gray screen pops up and it starts spinning. Then a progress bar appears. It fills about a quarter of the way, and then the screen goes black and the computer shuts down.
    Any thoughts on why this might be happening and anything I can try to help boot it back up would be great. Thanks!

    Then a progress bar appears.
    The progress Bar appears when your Boot drive will not mount. It runs a task similar to Disk Utility (Repair disk) and shows you the progress. It is normal for the bar to only fill less than a third of the way.
    If your Mac then shuts down, this is because the Repairs could not be completed. Your Boot Drive (either the mechanism or the contents) is in trouble.
    Try booting to Recovery Mode, and attempt to make the repairs form there.
    If no joy, buy a drive that could replace your Internal drive, and an enclosure to place it in while you Install a new copy of Mac OS X form fundamental sources. Making a complete copy of a drive you know to be damaged is not generally helpful, but may be needed later if you do not have a Backup.
    The advice to erase your drive should be ignored. It was invented long ago, when drives cost US$1000, and the prize was getting the drive mechanism working again.

  • DFU and tried to recover but progress bar never showed up

      I recently tried to restore my extremely loaded and bugging iPhone 3Gs into a default state via DFU mode. I used a fw file with my 6.1.2 shsh stitched into it so I may recover to 6.1.2. Things went smooth when I put my phone into pwned DFU and choose the fw in iTunes. All that is after iTunes verified that the fw can be installed and prepair to do the recovery by booting into the "bar mode" (Don't ask, just the screen that shows the firmware install progress.) The phone will just try to boot itself up as normal and I recieve a random error like err. 1604, 1643 ect. I am doing it on a Mac but swaping to a windows doesn't help.

  • Resetting progress bar in datagrid

    Hello all,
    I'm extremely new to everything flex and flash. so this may
    be a really stupid question. but google has so far failed to find
    the answer to this.
    i built a small flash app to allow clients to upload files in
    bulk. everything seems to work fine (for the most part) except that
    my progress bars never reset. if they upload a file then select a
    new file, the progress bar will remain at 100%. i can't figure out
    how to reset it. can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance.

  • IMac starts, shuts down - gray screen w/ progress bar

    I have a 2007 iMac and it is now shutting down every time I try and restart it.  I see a gray screen with the apple logo, the spinning wheel and the progress bar upon every restart.  The progress bar never finishes and it shuts down.
    I have restarted with command-option-P-R - same result
    I have restarted with command-S - same result
    I have restarted with command-C - it kept spitting the disc out then it would shut down again
    I have restarted with command-V and it said something about incorrect block counts.  It also at the very end, just before shutting down again said "Disk Full Error" and "killing all processes done".  I had to snap a picture with my phone to see what it actually said since it happened so fast.  I knew the hard drive was almost full and was actually backing up to and external hard drive just before this issue began.
    Is there anyway for me to force the computer to stay on long enough for me to remove some items and free up space?  Like an override somehow?
    Thanks so much in advance for the help!

    So why would the code we post be any different than the code in the tutorial? Why do you think our code would be easier to understand? The tutorial contains explanations about the code.
    Did you download the code and execute it? Did it work? Then customize the code to suit your situation. We can't give you the code because we don't know exactly what you are attempting to do. We don't know how you have changed to demo code so that it no longer works. Its up to you to compare your code with the demo code to see what the difference is.

  • Has anyone seen the Search progress bar fail to update as the search is processed?

    I recently upgraded from RH9 to RH10 (10.0.1.292). I applied all of the maintenance for RH10 listed on William van Weelden's site and generated WebHelp output. When viewing the output on the server through a browser, I occasionally see a delay in producing the search results list, but the Search progress bar never moves from Searching 0% while the search is executing and finally the search results list is displayed. Has anyone else experienced this?
    P.S. This may be irrelevant to this issue, but I can use the same search arguments at different times throughout the day and get the same results list of 700+ topics in 2 seconds or in some cases two minutes. I have attributed the difference in elapsed time to server workload or network resources. Could it be problem with a script file?

  • No Progress Bar when importing from Camera

    I just updated to iLife 06, and I noticed when I was importing new photo's into iPhoto 6, that the progress bar does not move. The photo's import fine, but I have no idea of the approximate time it will take, since the progress bar never shows up.
    Has anyone else seen this? Is there any pref files I can clean out to see if I can get this feature back?
    Thanks, and sorry if this has been discussed, but I could not find anything when searching the forums for this issue.
    - Bruce

    Well, I just imported 10 photo's and the progress bar worked. My previous import where the progress bar did not work, had 125 photo's, with two of them locked. I have removed the locked photo's, and removed the regular photo's, and now the progress bar works. I do not know if it was because there was 125 photo's or if it was because I had a few locked photo's, but now it seems to be working.
    I will test things out by locking some more photo's and seeing if the progress bar shows up when I import. I also chose to delete the original photo's after importing them.
    Has anyone else imported a lot of pictures, and had a few locked on the camera, and noticed if the progress bar works or not?

  • Scale progress bar with Event.RESIZE

    Hi all,
    I am trying to create a preloader bar that goes across the whole stage. The code below works fine, except that I would also like to be able to resize the stage and have the preloader bar recognize this and change it's scaleX to accomodate the larger or smaller browser size. Does this make sense? I'm having trouble with the equation to adjust the preloader bar scaleX within the "onResizeStageLoad" function.
    function PL_LOADING(event:ProgressEvent):void {
    var pcent:Number=event.bytesLoaded/event.bytesTotal*100;
    //Stretch the bar
    lbar.scaleX=pcent/100;
    if(pcent >=100){
    this.gotoAndStop(2);
    stage.removeEventListener(Event.RESIZE, onResizeStageLoad);
    stage.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, onResizeStageLoad);
    function onResizeStageLoad(evt:Event):void{
    What goes in here?
    Thanks!

    Just to close this out. You need to submit the form from within the onComplete javascript. The prior version of the progress bar 'automatically' called submitFomr() when the progress bar was 100%. That is no longer true. You must explicitly call the submitForm() javascript in onComplete. Don't know if this is a bug in the new version or not? I recommend that the submitForm() be made the default function for onComplete is none is specified in the component properties.

  • New iPhone 5s stuck on Progress Bar screen

    I just got my new phone last night and went through the steps to activate it.  After entering the billing zip code and last four SS# it rebooted and then the apple logo appeared with a progress bar.  It moved about half an inch and then stopped.  It's been on this screen now since last night and I can't turn off the phone, or restart it or anything.  Worst of all my old iPhone 4 now says "No Service" so I have no working phone at this point.
    What can I do with my new phone to restart it or get it moving again?  I tried holding the power button down, pressing everything, but the "Slide to Power Off" display never appears and the progress bar never moves.

    The update process failed. Hold down power and home for 10 seconds and release power but continue holding on the home button.
    iTunes will say the phone is in recovery mode and you should restore it.
