Project opens as relative

When I open a project in LabView 2009 it opens as a relative location based on the network drive \\ server \ stuff
This is brand new behaviour that started today.
I can go to the Recent projects on the splash screen and retrieve the projects as they had been opened as absolute "s:\"
When it opens as relative, I cannot build the project, but when I open it from the recent projects ("s:\") it does build.
This behaviour does not happen on my colleagues installation of LabView.
He still gets absolute folders.
Why are my projects opening as relative?
Any ideas are appreciated.

Could it be a number of things. Perhaps your PC lost the network mapping of the S: drive. Or Windows just wants to reassign it to the full network share. It may not build because the longer network path is too long for the application builder to handle compared to the shorter path when it is know as s:\.
Why are you opening the project from a network drive? In general, working on files and projects from the network is a lot less reliable. You should only store backup copies on the network and only actively work from a copy that is located on your local PC hard drive.

Wrong project opens when double clicking on a project in project view

This is really weird. I have a personal library that was created by importing my entire iPhoto library and a Pro library that was created by just importing groups of images and folders from one of my drives. Both libraries are 100% managed. When Aperture opens, and my Personal library was the library that was open when I last closed Aperture, this behavior occurs. I go to double click on a project in project view and some other project opens. It's not random either. If I click on the project "Kennesaw Hike" for example, then "Jeremy's Birthday" will open every time.
Now the strange thing is when I go to File, Switch To Library, and choose my Pro Library and then switch right back to my Personal library, the projects in the project view open correctly. Something else that might be related. A few times in the last week when the Personal library was the open library when Aperture was closed last, and then I open Aperture later, it would prompt for my serial number again.
Another tidbit that might be of interest. I recently replaced the drive both libraries were on and copied them both to a new larger drive.

Opening a related table from tap event.

I have a simple Edit screen called DE_Client which is based on a SQL Table (not a view).
I have a browse screen based on a SQL View of the same table and have related the two elements together.
Using the standard tap event option I have chosen to open the DE_Client screen from the view and expected it would open the related record, but it looks like its now going to be that simple ?
I see that if I use the above and tap the item nothing happens so I expected I would have to add an option to the bottom item, I see that I have an Option (New PATIENT_TABLE) but this just opens a new diaglogue for entry.

Make the edit screen accept the Id or primary key as a parameter, then deal with retrieving the PATIENT_TABLE record in the screen's _created event.

But writing code and doing it this way is not necessary, you can just wire it up in the designer. Less code is better most times. Code could be more efficient though.
Create a custom query on "PATIENT_TABLE" in the server project. Add parameter(s) that you will use for value(s) to pass from a view row (perhaps Id , or the primary key). Filter by the parameters and set the query to return 'Single' not 'Multiple'.
In the browse screen design do "Add Data Item..." and "Query", choose your new custom "PATIENT_TABLE" query. Ok.
Bind the query parameter(s) to the corresponding value(s) in the selectedItem of the visual collection of the 'view'.
Now when setting up the item_tap you have a "PATIENT_TABLE" to pass in as the parameter.

Is there a way to have two separate projects open in different windows?

On my old editing software, I could have two separate projects open at the same time. I could copy clips from Project A, click over to Project B, and paste the Project A clips to Project B. Is there a way to have two separate projects open with Premiere Elements, or will I have to just import and trim every clip within the same project?

Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, PrE will not allow two Projects to be open at the same time. It will also not allow multiple instances of PrE to be open.
The workaround, to accomplish what you describe, is to use a ClipBoard Extender, such as ClipMate, which will allow one to Copy a Timeline, or parts of it, from one Project, then Close that one, to Open another one, and Paste the material, that was Copied. Many users employee ClipMate, or similar, to Copy/Paste material from one Project, to another.

When I try open a .pdf file my Adobe Reader 11 only allows the download / save opening the related window and don't show me both options 1) open with ... and 2) save as.... probably someone flagged the choise... always perform this way ....

I was trying to open a project in adobe flash pro cc and it said there was an error opening the project. I have tried multiple times with no success, however all my other projects open and work fine

Hi there.
Can I have two projects open on Premiere Elements at the same time?
The reason I wanna do this is because I've trimmed many hours of clips in one project (One timeline) and I want to start a new project where I have a "clean" timeline and can add clips from the
first project (Cut and paste). Or how do I bring a trimmed clip from one project into another in a easy way?

Your question is in the Photoshop Elements forum. There is another forum for Premier Elements and this will probably be moved.
That said, the answer is that Premier Elements has not be designed with the ability to cut and paste from one project to another. The only "work around" is to "Publish&Share" to a best quality format that matches your project settings. You can control the output clips with the "work area bars". You can then add the new clip to the second project. The output rendering process can, at least in theory, reduce the picture quality. Depending on formats, settings and footage, it may not be noticeable.
There is a third party product called Clipmate that some say works, but not always with good results.

More than one project open at a time?

AFAIK you can only have one DVD studio Pro project open at a time. I've never been sure why (does it have to do with encoding or parsing assets?), but it has always bothered me. Obviously you can in FCP and I just started with Motion, which also has multiple projects open at once. Anyone can shed light?

Is there a way to stop users from having multiple projects open at once?

I run a video editing lab and this new feature is causing no end of grief as students on one station decide to 'check out' what others are doing on other stations, then they leave these projects up in the background as they work on their project. Changes aren't saved, sound is lost, projects are corrupted, it's just plain ugly. Since all my stations are in sound proof private rooms, policing them constantly isn't practical. Can I turn this feature off, or do I need to revert to the older version? I need to only have one project open at a time, any advice is most welcome! Thank-you in advance.

Well, from a logical point of view..
..If all the work is kept on a central server, and each student stores his work there..
..Aren't there limits to prevent 1 student from doing things to another students work ??
Another way to do things [maybe] is to write an Applescript to close sessions other than the student's own ??
How about running Remote, to monitor the students from a central location ??

Strange goings on here with my Libraries: Projects opened from Projects View are no longer (3.3) selected on the Library tab of the Inspector. When, in Projects View, I double-click a Project, that Project's contents are shown in the Browser, but the selection shown on the Library tab of the Inspector remains on "Projects" near the top of the tab.
This is, imho, _very very very bad_. Can someone confirm this behavior on their machine? Is this announced or expected?

IDVD 4 Pauses During Project Opening

OMG! Someone needs to help me ASAP!!!! I have a nearly completed iDVD project with slideshows, videos, many menus, etc. However, I recently userd the iDVD_Egg to create a disk image and burn it as a test; the test work fine. However, immediately upon trying to continue working on the project, I noticed that the project opens, but opens to a blank screen, not the main menu of the DVD. I can access the main menu and all other menus from the "Map" view. The other issue is that there are no options available from the File menu, such as Save, Save Project As, Archive Project, etc.
Please help. Other project open just fine, and I can create new projects. What do I do? I've tried deleting my plist files and that hasn't helped.

Project opens/closes immediately

I have a couple of project files that will open just long enough for me to glimpse the timeline and browser data then it closes with the message that Final Cut has closed unexpectedly (the same old "closed unexpectedly" notice you get for anything like that). I can tell that the information is there including all my edits and sequences.
Does anyone have a trick or tool to help restore these project files?

Its a tricky one for sure.
The fact that the app and project opens long enough to display for just a moment suggests that its not a corruption problem with the project file itself. I was hoping that by taking the media offline you could force FCP to load the project despite what I assumed to be a source media or render file corruption, but if you've already eliminated ALL the source video and audio media, stills, graphic elements, music tracks and all the audio and video render files etc then that seems not to be the case.
What might be happening is that FCP is crashing as soon as it tries to display the contents of the video under the playhead in the open sequence, but rather than corrupt media/renders causing the crash it might be a filter trying to render at the playhead position that is causing it ... are you using any third party filters in your piece?
Do you have anything else info wise that you could add to the puzzle? At what point did these project files stop working? Are they old projects from earlier versions of FCP? If so, how old?
On another tack, do you have any old backups or autosaves of this project that you can still open, if so, at what point in your edit do they stop working? Do you remember what you did that day that might give a clue as to the problem? Did you suffer any power outage, unexpected crash or anything that could possibly have corrupted any of your data?
If you like, go ahead and zip up your project file and drop it onto my iDisk and I'll take a look and see if I can open it over here. You can access my iDisk public folder from your Go menu in the Finder ... choose *Go > iDisk > Other User's Public Folder...* and enter andymees as the Member Name

The Project System guarantees close and constant monitoring of all aspects of your project.Projects are generally part of the internal processes of a company.
There is no orgnization structure of project system like in FI ( Company code), CO ( Controlling Area), Funds management ( FM area). but it depends upon other.

Project with Resource Related Intercompany Billing (D48)

Have BP-ERP 604V1, and BP-SOLBLD 70V1 installed. Was able to install baseline package for Germany V1.604, including scenarios and building blocks.
Now attempting to ...
- locate where best practice for project with resource related intercompany billing (D48)
- this would include scope (.xml file) and script files (.txt file)
We have downloaded the Best Practices for Mining for service marketplace. I can see D48 files in the extraction once complete. The challenge is that I cannot seem to find the .xml file solution file to import. If I could, I would then follow similar process that I did for baseline package for Germany V1.604.
Does anyone have any insights to the how one gets this loaded? I see a .bpp file, but was expecting an .xml file. I see the opportunity to import via Solution --> Import, but this is looking for .bps file as option other than .xml file.
Appreciate any tips on this one.

Thanks for your feedback,My scenario is like this,We have a Centralized Company which would be delivering directly to the Customers in other Countries through their plants through Plant abroad concept for Local companies in other countries who would be acting as Selling agents for a commision.
I would require to design a Intercompany Invoice(Revenue Less Commison) where I require the revenue from the Customer Invoice to be transferred on the Intercompany invoice.That is all the pricing conditions are required to be copied from Customer invoice to inter company Invoice.
