Proposal to review a book on SOA

Greetings.
I am James and I work as a Project Manager with Inkstall Publishing. We specialize in publishing niche market books in specialized topic areas for IT Managers, Technicians and working professionals.
As technical experts in your respective areas, we invite you to review a book for us. Our authors have put in their hard work writing chapter for selected topics.
Currently we are working on SOA related topic. It would be a pleasure for us to have you on board as reviewers and have your expert comments on these chapters.
Also, you can recommend us your colleagues who are open to such ideas and we would get in touch with them.
I would like to hear your views on this proposal and would be more than happy to further answer your questions.

Started writing a review of book after reading.  Cannot close out window to go back to Library.

A few days ago I ran Onyx and it told me to repair disks from my boot up disk..
Did you do that? If not, you should follow these directions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417
If you did, was the repair successful?
Basically, the 'licence' window that comes up when you open certain applications e.g. Aperture, doesn't disappear like it is supposed to and just stays put..
Sounds like those applications are crashing at startup... unless they are opening other windows behind that "splash screen" window, in which case there's something very weird going on. If they just get to the splash screen and then stop, they've crashed.
Sounds like whatever hard drive problems you had have caused some corruption to important parts of your system or those applications. I would imagine you're going to have to reinstall those applications at a minimum. Since it seems like it's happening with new apps that you have downloaded recently, though, it's more likely you're going to need to reinstall the system.
Whatever the case, if you don't have good backups, the absolute first thing you need to do before you do anything else is to make a backup. See my [Mac Backup Guide|http://www.reedcorner.net/thomas/guides/backups> for help with that. Depending on the level of damage your hard drive experienced, though, it may be too late... there may be documents somewhere that are damaged and can't be opened that you haven't discovered yet.
If you reinstall the system, I'd advise moving your data back over from a backup manually and reinstalling applications from scratch, using Migration Assistant sparingly, if at all. You don't want to move damaged settings files or applications back onto a squeaky-clean system.

  • Good book for SOA 11g

    Hi
Could anybody tell me if the Developer guide provided by Oracle is sufficient to learn SOA 11g.(Mediator, B2B)?
Or if any good book we can follow.
I worked on SOA Suite 10.1.3.
Coul you please give me the link where I can find good information regarding OFM certification?
    Thanks
    Praveena.

    Hi
i followed a workshop given by some of the guys of Oracle and based on that workshop they wrote the next book :
    http://www.packtpub.com/getting-started-with-oracle-soa-suite-11g-r1/book
it a real good read to get familiar with all the components, so i would definitely read it just to get some extra background information.
besides that and all the guides Oracle supplies use the forums and blogs, we're all here to help each other.

  • How long does it takes to review a book

I uploaded my book through Ibooks  Author 6 days  ago  and  it's  still  in review, also there  is  no any  tickets  to  see what's going  on
How  long  book can be  in review and  what  can I do  in this  situation  ?
    Thanks

Depends how busy the review team are.....anything from hours to two weeks. It was announced some weeks ago, that "they" would send emails advising the books was in store after review.   Never had one yet!
Keep checking your iTunesConnect >Manage your Books.....it shows if the book is in review or if it shows a green dot and "In 51 Stores", the waiting is over!

  • Another CS6 Worksation Build Proposal for review and comment

    Hi All,
I've put together the following video editing system build after reading this forum for many months and would really appreciate any feedback or comments. Of particular interest are comments on the hard disk setup, location of the media cache and connection speed and disk size allocation. I'm trying to put together a fast, stable, easily managed system from a file management perspective for home video editing using CS6. Video Editing will be the primary task for this workstation but it will also be the main desktop PC in the house for other general computing purposes.

    2 X 3TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM HDD ( RAID 1 )

I chose the ASROCK Extreme 11 due to the number of SATA3 ports. I haven't found any other 2011 socket mb's with the amount of SATA ports I require. Any alternatives recommended ?
My understanding is that HDD's wont benefit from a 6gb SATA3 connection so there is no point using these ports for any HDD - is this correct ?
I have viewed Todd's 'Optimizing Hard Disk Video' where he puts the Media Cache on the C drive. Where would you recommend the Media Cache be placed ?
My intention is to backup everything from both D & E RAID 0 volumes to F drive. I note some systems and recommendations have the exports being written directly to the larger, slower backup HDD but doesn't this mean the export takes longer to write ? I am assuming I am better off writing out my export file to a fast SDD and then backing up to my F: HDD later.
Any comments on the size of my E drive for Preview, Export, Media Cache...would 2 x 256gb drives in RAID 0 be adequate, considering I'm using this drive purely as temporary storage.
I also acknowledge that the C drive at 512gb may be overkill but I'd rather not run out of space there, especially if I need to use that drive for the pagefile and media cache or anything else recommended.
I look forward to reading your comments and suggestions and really appreciate any feedback / alternatives suggested.
    Kind Regards
    Martin.

    Hi Harm,
Thanks for the feedback - very much appreciated.
The reason I chose the 1600mhz sticks instead of 2133mhz was because of stability fears, not because of price.
Also, I don't think I have seen any 64gb memory kits running at 2133mhz ?
If you think using the 2133mhz memory is worthwhile and stable, and gives a valuable performance boost I will consider that upgrade.
The GSkill 1600mhz is 1.5 volts and I have read concerns on this forum about using that voltage.
I'd really appreciate any suggestions from anyone about what 64gb 2133 mhz memory kit to purchase that is stable and runs well with an ASrock Extreme 11 motherboard and the 3930k processor.
As per other posts on this forum regarding memory, I'd rather have more memory over faster memory, hence why I am going for 64gb straight away.
As to the C drive size, I'll consider scaling that back to 256gb
Thanks again for reviewing and taking the time to comment.
    Cheers Martin.

  • How do I add a widget to give a review or star rating for a book at the end of a book in iBooks Author?

How do I add a widget to give a review or star rating for a book at the end of a book in iBooks Author? You know, how you buy books on iBooks and when you're finished reading it, there's a place where you can give a rating or review right there on the very last page?

Just supply a link that says 'Review This Book' - use http://itunes.apple.com/linkmaker/ to generate one.

  • Updating a Book During the Review Process

Does anyone have any advice/experience with updating a book while it is still in the review process?
I have a book currently being reviewed, but just realized that one of the images in there is reversed. I also heard from a source that needs to change a citation in our back-of-book appendix. Both are not huge deals, and I could just wait to update after the book is successfully in the iTunes store.
However, if I did update the book now, would that screw up the review process? Not sure what happens if Apple is reviewing a book, and another version of the book is uploaded during the process.

Apparently, if you push an update, the book in the store is taken off sale until the process is wrapped up...
If you replace an asset under review, the process has to come to a halt, pick up the new content and start again. How that affects the queue could depend on if the review is being done by the same person and how busy their queue is, etc.
See Once my book is uploaded, how long before it appears in iTunes?

  • How do I share one book with a class set of ipads

I am new to ipad I was given 14 iPads and want to be able to share books(class set) and documents with all of the iPads so that we could review the books and documents together

For books, see my previous post to you: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5239492?tstart=0
For sharing documents like PDFs, I like using Dropbox. Each of your students can download the Dropbox app on his/her iPad. You can then set up a shared folder in Dropbox that each of your students can view or edit (depending on what permissions you set on the folder). From your computer or iPad, you can add PDF files to the Dropbox folder and your students will wirelessly be able to view these documents from their Dropbox app.
    Hope this helps!

  • When i attempt to buy a book created on iPhoto, i get a message that the book is incomplete when, in fact, all of the photo spaces are filled?

when i attempt to buy a book created on iphoto, it says i can't because all of the photo spaces are not filled with pics.  when i go back and review the book, all spaces are filled.... any ideas

That is correct - you must have a photo in every photo frame to order

  • PDF of iPhoto book not displaying text under photos

Just created a wedding book in iPhoto 11 but when I saved it as pdf to proof it, text under photos was not there. I could see the top of some letters at bottom of photos. However, on my slide show and in reviewing the book in iPhoto, text is there. So, if I upload the wedding book to Apple (or whoever they contract with), will the text appear in the published book?

First there are no psychics here who can see the future - if you preview according to the Apple specs then the delivered product is guaranteed to match the resulting PDF
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.

  • Interesting discovery....Books in projects

this may be old news to some, but it has been a revelation for me..
I am collaborating with a writer on a book of poetry and photography...using Ap to draw from my library of work (130Gb). We need to meet and review the progress and current design, and she's not local to me. So, the challenge was to take the book layout and photos on my MBP to a designated meeting place, but without taking my whole library. To my pleasant surprise, I learned that *a project does not have to contain image masters, but can be built using an album of candidate shots and the book layout itself...nice.* All I had to do is export the project from my MP (being sure to "consolidate images") and import it to my MBP Ap library...now we can review the book design together and even look at alternate layouts, fonts, colors and photos....
    Sweeeeet!!
    cheers,
    david

I don't think Mavericks or the firmware that loads prior to the "internet recovery" option hacks anything.  I just am curious to know how it downloaded the recovery files it required whilst I haven't typed in security keys for my wifi.   I imagine that since I had it on wifi while the OS was still functional, that the passwords were saved somewhere (but not the OS since it was dead at that point), but I am really unsure what or how, so that's why I am curious.
It seems you're right. I booted in recovery mode, and was asked to enter my wifi key. What I don't understand is why sometimes you don't have to.

The recovery HD is then part of the main hard drive?  When I selected to partition the main hard-drive, I purposely chose to partition the whole thing as 1 thing.   I then checked later with iPartition, and the recovery drive shows up as a seperate device, not a volume on the main partition, nor a hidden volume on the main partition.
If you go to 'About this Mac', More, System report (sorry, I must translate as I don't have an English system), under SATA/SATA Express section, you'll see a Recovery HD volume.
So MacOS creates a hidden volume on main HDD.

  • I have a children's book on iBook but no one can see it when they look for children's books  How can I get it to the iBook reader easier

What is the best way to promote my book in iBooks?

Open your iTunes Connect  > Deliver your Content and  download the relevant PDF seen top right.
To find your book among the millions already in the store, seach the iBook Store for Author, title of book in the catagories you opted for.
If you want to help your freinds or family,  you can use this - https://linkmaker.itunes.apple.com/us/   copy the text link and email it around.  Change  the US to your own country if needed.
Paid books should allow you 50 token codes to allow a free download of your book. Useful if you want  magazines, local newspapers etc,. to review your book.
Good Luck with your book... Hope it sells in millions....
