I - em relação aos quais tenha havido a declaração de insolvência do devedor, em sentença emanada do Poder Judiciário;
II - sem garantia, de valor:
a) até cinco mil reais, por operação, vencidos há mais de seis meses, independentemente de iniciados os procedimentos judiciais para o seu recebimento;
b) acima de cinco mil reais, até trinta mil reais, por operação, vencidos há mais de um ano, independentemente de iniciados os procedimentos judiciais para o seu recebimento, porém, mantida a cobrança administrativa;
c) superior a trinta mil reais, vencidos há mais de um ano, desde que iniciados e mantidos os
procedimentos judiciais para o seu recebimento;
III - com garantia, vencidos há mais de dois anos, desde que iniciados e mantidos os procedimentos judiciais para o seu recebimento ou o arresto das garantias;

  • SQL Physical Server vs Hyper-V or VM

    We had Brent Ozar evaluate our SQL Environment about a year ago , one of the recommendations was to moved from Virtual to a Physical Server but there were no further explanations as to the PROs and CONs of Physical vs Virtual.
    This is an SQL server for Dynamics GP  ERP system and they also recommented to go from 8GB of ram to 128GB ram
    Any comments appreciated.

    Hi Elant,
    Regarding the Pros and Cons of Physical vs Virtual, they’re briefly described in the below link.
    SQL Server Physical Vs Virtual Environment
    As for the recommendation of moving your SQL server from Virtual to Physical, toughly to say, it is on purpose to improve the performance. A dedicated physical server is all yours, namely critical resources(CPU and IO, which is sensitively related to performance)
    will not be used by anything other than the SQL server task. Without outside interruption, SQL server will run smoother. As you mentioned you had Brent Ozar evaluate your SQL Environment, so this should be based on his understanding of your scenario. See below
    link’s from Brent Ozar’s site.
    Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Virtualize SQL Server
    With regards to memory gaining from 8GB to 128GB, since SQL Server uses memory to cache data and avoid additional trips to disk, it can improve performance obviously. You’ll get the added benefit of additional memory to cache query plans, perform bigger joins
    and sorts in memory, and may even see a reduction in CPU and disk utilization to boot. SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition maxes out at 64GB  as well as SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition does while SQL Server 2014 standard Edition maxes out at 128GB. Generally
    speaking, the more memory you gain, the more performance is improved. See the link from Brent Ozar’s site also.
    How to Prove Your SQL Server Needs More Memory
    If you have any question, feel free to let me know.
    Best Regards,
    Eric Zhang

  • Strange errors 10.6.8 server -

    I'm on 10.6.8 server, and having random errors crop up seemingly everywhere.
    The server Admin tool reports errors from time to time.  The latest being "This server does not have any services marked as configured".  Yet I'm looking right at them, and they are green.
    Also, we are having weird issues with users sometimes not being able to log on to the network from their workstations.
    We only have basic services (file sharing, and network logons (for server-based home dirs) and with various managed preferences , with about 20 users, and 20 computers.
    I'm starting to think a reinstall is best.  I have a new mac-mini hardware, ready.
    Should I try migrating the OD, or start over from scratch?  Can you point me in the right direction, pros and cons of each for our small setup?  Is migrating OD to new server easy?
    Thanks!

    Thanks Jaime,
    First, we have purchased a refurb. MacMini to replace our aging imac server, so we have to do some kind of migration, or new setup.  This is kinda what I was referring to ... pros and cons of starting over, or migrating.
    Second, to answer your q's...
    I'm new in the mac server world, so I haven't gotten much out of the logs yet. But I have some suggestions on what to try (debug/verbose service directory logging) so will try next time we have the problems.
    The error with server admin goes away with a simple restart of server admin.  FYI, I do our server admin/wgm work on the server itself.
    The problem with the clients is when a user trys, it says something like "unable to log in at this time... an error ocurred".  It's the same error you would get if you didn't "create user home" when setting up a new user, and their home directory doesn't exist.  The client refuses to log in.  The client system is on the network at all times, a ping running proves it.
    Server DNS is off - dns is handled by a router, but fwd/rev dns works with the server fqdn.

  • Connection timeout depending on how many client JVMs (but as many requests)

    Hello,
    sorry for the cryptic title, I hit the length limit.
    Here is my problem. I'm asking first for an explanation, or for ways to investigate it. Afterwards I'll need a solution but as I suspect the problem is involved, and involves several tiers, I will probably open dedicated topics instead.
    Short Story*: a web service server and 10 test client JVMs work fine - but a single test client simulating 10 virtual users experiences ConnectException.
    What can I log or probe to understand why?
    Long Story*:
    I have an application that I used to simulate load on a WebService server. The app simulates a variable number of clients of these WebServices, each virtual client running in its own thread, and sequentially calling the same set of WebServices in a fixed order, and looping.
    I have, on some occasions, met various problems with the server product (under development and validation), or the test client (that may not have had the same level of attention and quality in the design as the product), some of you may remember some of my asking here and there. But we achieved a fair level of reliability.
    However, today, after a few weeks' change to the server(1), we load-tested it using the test client simulating 10 concurrent clients. After a few minutes, we repeatedly witnessed a fair number (1% of the requests) of java.net.ConnectException "connection timed out" raised at the client's end. I immediately suspected the server to not honor connection requests timely, and went on monitoring the server's queues, listeners,etc.
    As nothing seemed to highlight a problem on this side, a colleague suggested that we instead launch 10 client JVMs (on the same single test client machine), each one simulating one single client. I blatantly qualified his suggestion of "hopeless random try" but let him try his way.
    Dang! He repeatedly demonstrated that the 10 client JVMs do not undergo the ConnectException, even though they simulate the same number of concurrent requests (well, 10 at most), at the same thoughput - and we observe the same level of server CPU, and same functional results.
    I respectfully apologized for being a pretentious moron (2), but he hasn't proposed any satisfactory explanation so far, and I'm clueless too. So we haven't been able to make the "single JVM load-test client" work. We need to make this one work, for various reasons.
    There may be some server-side tweaks (worker thread pools, waiting queues,... for the record it's a Glassfish server) that I may tune, but as the "regular" situation of 10 client VMs is handled appropriately, I deem the server-side setting are correct.
    So I'm primarily interested in monitoring the client host and JVM(s) to spot the differences between the two scenarios. But there may be some server-side indicators as well (queue size, keep-alive pool) that may help the investigations - and if need be, I will happily tune the server for the benefit of the "test client investigating".
    One track I'd like to investigate, is the way HTTP connections are reused: we're using a JAX-WS client querying a Glassfish server, and both seem to agree on using HTTP1.1 (I checked HTTP packets with tcpmon), which supposedly "reuses connections" (is that the same as "keeps TCP socket open and reuses them"?). Could it be that the 10 threads in the multi-client simulator have a bottleneck of using a shared HTTP connection(s)? I don't know how to log or monitor this:
    - I did a couple of netstat dumps during the tests on the (Windows) client test machine, and it exhibits only a few hundreds of sockets in TIME_WAIT state, and a few dozens of ESTABLISHED ones.
    - I don't have the numbers for the server, though.
    I don't know how to investigate that further. Any clues?
    I may exhibit a poor turnaround time in this thread, as the test platform is used for real tests, but I do care about the topic, so I attach shiny little dukes.
    Thank you for your time (well if you've read this to the end you at least deserve a thanks!) (3)
    J.
    (1) and after switching test platform (room & network); lesson one: "Never mix test platform changes and other changes in the same iteration; regression-test the new test platform with the former software version"
    (2) lesson two: "When you don't know, don't tell a colleague he doesn't know"
    (3) lesson three: "Short posts get better attention, are better understood, and more happily replied to"... (sigh)

    Hello ejp,
    I not only missed your points, but missed your latest post as well :o)
    I'm discovering it.
    You've missed the point. Problems that only shows up with multiple clients in the same JVM but not with multiple JVMs don't correspond to real-world situations any more than the configuration does so there is little in even investigating them, and no point whatsoever in trying to fix them.
    (...) It's not 'hopeless', but you have to be constantly aware that it can lead to false positives and false negatives.Fixing them woud enable me to continue load tests with a cheaper test platform. I cannot afford 10, 100 or 1000 client machines. I know you're talking about JVMs, but 10 or 100 client JVMs running on a single host is not a real-world situation either, no more than "all clients are on the same LAN". I have to do away with approximations, keeping aware as completely as possible of the differences it introduces.
    This is not true for HTTP connection caching: this favors the server as much as the client, so I can't infer that it's a favorable case overall.Again you've missed the point. It can only happen inside a single JVM. So it may present you with false positives.I'm still not sure I got the point now:
    -> For the server, wich are the differences between both client configurations (single-JVM vs 10 JVMs)?
    - - Does a new TCP connection request from the same JVM involve less work if one is already established?
    If not, and if each virtual client uses its own TCP connection, there is no cheating, and I don't need to worry about this level of bias.
    - - Does an HTTP request that comes over an established TCP socket require less server work than an HTTP request that reqests a new TCP socket?
    Probably (in the second case the server has to accept the TCP request and probably pool it, and assign a reader thread, etc...). So I do need to worry about this bias. One way to avoid it is to manage to have the virtual clients not using each other's HTTP connection.
    And so on...
    Is it possible to build a comprehensive list of the differences incurred by the single-JVM configuration?
    Then for each of them, I can try to evaluate ways to alleviate the bias.
    - If I managed to avoid or alleviate each and every bias, I would be back to a realistic simulation.
    - If there remained only the biases that handicap the server (such as, the server crashes under a 15 clients load, whereas in reality it could sustain 25), then I could be conservative and announce "the server will handle 15 clients gracefully" to the salespeople that will establish the SLAs. I understand that I may never be able to prove that the server actually scales up to 25 concurrent clients, but as long as the conservative SLA matches the market target that will do.
    - If I'm left with biases that do favor the server, then I can't rely on the test platform and I'll reluctantly but resignedly try to have a more realistic platform funded (the more likely outcome is to be asked to provide probabilities and disclaimers in the test reports).
    Thanks for your help so far, and please bear with my stubborn but polite request to try to identify further the differences ad causes.
    J.

  • More questions re: UTF-8 and Latin encoding

    Hi
    I've really tried to do my homework before posting here, so I hope I'm not double-posting...
    I've read all the discussions I can find, followed instructions on http://homepage.mac.com/thgewecke/iwebchars.html and spoken twice to my ISP who provides the hosting service.
    My ISP is, of course, forcing the browser to interpret the HTML as Latin, and if I change it manually to UTF-8, my page looks fine.
    My ISP is, of course, blaming Apple, saying that Macs use a slightly different UTF-8 Character set. I suspect that's bullocks.
    My ISP is also blaming iWeb, saying that it is designed to only work with .mac. I've said that's not the case, that it can publish seperately to a folder for FTP upload.
    My ISP insists that correctly coded UTF-8 pages will work fine, and that their server is not forcing the browser to interpret it any way or the other.
    Is there any way I can prove that the HTML is correct, and that the server IS forcing browsers to interpret the character set as Latin?
    If I can prove that, then I believe I have a valid case for them to change it, and accept the problem is theirs.
    I would greatly appreciate suggestions from those who understand these matters better than me. Including, if you think it appropriate, what my next approach to the ISP should include...?
    Many thanks to anyone who takes the time to help.
    Kind regards
    Steve
    PS I should also mention that my ISP does not allow .htaccess files to be placed, administered, or used by users.
    Can't get another host. Can't afford .mac.

    All the statements made by your ISP are totally wrong, of course. If you want to prove that their server forces Latin-1, you can put your url into a site like this one:
    http://web-sniffer.net/
    It shows that the HTTP response header sent from their server tells all browsers that "Content-Type: = text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"
    From your description it doesn't sound like they are capable of understanding this problem or fixing it for you. If that is true, and if you really have no other choice, I would suggest that before uploading you open your pages with TextEdit (set to Plain text, ignore rich text commands in html, and UTF-8 encoding) and just do Save As after setting the encoding to Western ISO Latin-1.

  • XSERVE 10.4.7 failed start up errors best practice/recomnd Prev Maintenan?

    I have an Xserve, RAID 5 OS volume and data volumes stripped across the RAID 5 (with parity). The only other piece of software is Dantz Retrospect. Preventive maintenance was run 5/30 - which I do in this order. Reboot, see if server comes up clean, run disk warrior, repair permissions (both OS/Data volumes). All was clean - server has been up and running fine until 8/18. Rebooted server - was going to run disk warrior - server did hang on reboot and would not restart. Powered down hard, tried again - No good. Ran Disk Warrior produced a report but didn't make any changes - and it gave me a ton of errors stating: OS files chown/egripm tar grep etc - and dozens of other files under the /usr/bin sbin and usr/shared where gone - the errors were "the link file no longer points to the original file tigeros/usr/bin". It is almost as if I lost the entire File system - all data was intact on data volume. The server is on a UPS but did not have powerchute installed at the time. It has been perfectly stable. Nothing additional was installed . The only thing I can think of is power loss that exceeded the run time of the UPS and dropped the server like a rock - blowing out the file system. Any ideas/thoughts?
    I reinstalled the OS - and run disk tools - which shows all is ok - is that proof enough that the OS remains intact and safe for a reboot?
    What could have gone wrong?
    What is recommended for preventive maintenance on 10.4.7 running on an Xserve? I can't afford to have this reoccur if I can at all help - that is why I am generally pro-active with Preventive Maintenance.
    Alsoft - recommends that I run their product every 3-4 weeks to prevent such problems. Should I shy away from third party tools?
    Thank you all!
    SGM

    I really want to thank you for your response and sharing with me some really very good advice and info! I believe I need to clarify something. I am a server admin have 5 certs in Novell, Windows and Cisco certified – and I do not just go around rebooting servers. I am however, trying (and your response is quite helpful), to find best practices for working with XServe and Tiger Server. I have a bit of experience with many other Oss – and don’t normally recommend rebooting for the heck of it. I use to have Novell boxes literally up for years.
    My intention is to establish a standardized means of keeping OSX servers running with as few problems as possible. On this particular Xserve, I was to bring it down (because it was recommended to be a good practice), to do PM. By Preventive Maintenance, I did mean Disk Warrior/repair permissions. Now, before I would just run any disk utility (and yes – until now), I would reach for Disk Warrior for the reason that their tech support is usually quite good. I have spoken with them since the first release of their product – and perhaps (although not the best idea), trusted their recommendations.
    So – I would reboot the server BEFORE doing any PM, only to make sure and prove that the server comes up clean so I wouldn’t be blamed for it, if it did not come up clean due to performing maintenance. That being said, I did run Disk Warrior back around 5/30/06 and I really had very few errors, the server did come up fine. As mentioned, it was on a UPS (less the PowerChute software at the time).
    What I found was upon reboot – the server would not reboot. I proceeded to boot from the OS install CD, Disk Tools said it could not repair the problem. Secondly, I went to Disk Warrior – to run a report which did show that usr/bin and sbin contents were gone. The data volume was completely intact. So my first concern or question would be – what on earth could have caused this – a power fluctuation or the server possibly exceeding the run time – and dropping like a rock? Have you ever seen this? I just find I sleep better when I know the cause.
    Now, if I didn’t reboot to do the Preventive Maintenance – I never would have known that this file system was affected, and at the most inopportune time, I could have been called with the server being down.
    My goal is to keep this server up and running and as problem free and possible. It seems as if you have far more experience with this platform than I, and will absolutely implement your suggestions, and review your recommendations and suggested readings. I pride myself on the work I do, and I clearly need to bring my mastery of this OS up to a higher level. Books/other recommendations are welcome.
    So to reiterate – watch my logs – any specific logs under var/log? I even thought perhaps a bad block could have been the cause – my apologies, I always like to know the cause of a problem. I did reinstall the OS to the TigerOS Volume which did erase that volume – but did not zero all data. As mentioned this machine is RAID 5 three drives both the OS and Data Partitions are across all three drives. I would have preferred if the hardware and budget supported it, to mirror the OS and use RAID 5 for data.
    Is there a log that reports disk errors? You say repair permissions when you have a specific error – what specific OS Volume error would repairing permissions actually resolve?
    As mentioned, I want to prevent what had happened – I am NOT in the habit of rebooting servers, not even Windows servers with any great frequency. I have several Windows servers that prior to Microsoft’s patch Tuesday – were up for 9-12 months – even longer! If it wasn’t for “Patch Tuesday” the Windows servers would be up far longer!
    So then – in a nutshell – you are suggesting other than checking logs – there really isn’t a need to do Preventive Maintenance on an Xserve running 10.4.7? Would the log files have shown me that I had problems (still wondering what the cause was – would love your opinion), with files under usr/bin and sbin? What about running disk tools periodically from within the OS to Verify the integrity of the OS partition – no harm doing this – correct? If it shows no errors – is it safe to assume that I should be able to reboot?
    I can’t thank you enough for your time, and sharing this info with me. Mt goal is to keep this server running and as stable and as trouble-free as possible, just seeking to fill the voids of experience I have with this particular OS. I will try your recommendation for creating an image (on a test box first), but what about Super Duper (I believe it is called)? I do have to bring the box down to create the images.
    I can’t thank you enough
    Sincerely
    Be well
    Mac OS X (10.3.8)

  • SSL ciphers and algorithms

    Hello experts,
    I have a fundamental SSL question - what I want to know is whether the ciphers and algorithms mentioned in certificates are used in SSL communication or not ? For example, in a sample certifcate, I can see Signature Algo=sha1RSA, Signature hash=SHA1, public key=RSA Encryption etc. I want to know whether any of these ciphers/algos are used while establishing the SSL connection. At what stage, which one of these from the certificate is used ? Or is it that the SSL negotiation does not involve these algos and only selects from what the platform supports.

    For example, in a sample certifcate, I can see Signature Algo=sha1RSA, Signature hash=SHA1, public key=RSA Encryption etc. I want to know whether any of these ciphers/algos are used while establishing the SSL connection.The certificate's own signature is checked on receipt, and the server sends another digital signature signed with its own private key which is also verified by the client, which proves that the server really owns that certificate. After that, the two sides negotiate a symmetric session key. Under some cipher suites that negotation can also involve the server certificate. Once the session key is established the certificates and their algorithms and keytypes play no further role.
    As it says in RFC 2246.

  • Can't set up my mail

    just swiched to this phone to day. Had a blackberry before. Seting up the e-mail was very easy. Not on the iPhone I can not get it to link to my server. It says can not connect with ssl try with out. Does that and atill no connection. What can I do? Are there any additional setting that I need to change to get this to work? Can some one please help. It is a pop account.

    Hello,
    First and foremost, use Outlook or Thunderbird email client and see if IMAP or POP works. If it does (this will prove that several server side things and connectivity is setup properly), then move on to checking your iPhone settings further.
    Some things to try for IMAP (IMAP is much better):
    1. set your bare windows username in the incoming and outgoing mail server fields without appending @ or anything else. If that doesn't work, you could also try using domain\username or domain/username in those fields.
    2. Click on the Advanced button and make sure SSL is on for IMAP and SMTP and make sure the ports are correct for your email server (SMTP is usually 465). Try adding :465 to your smtp outgoing email server field (sometimes I've seen it fall back to something else in the Advanced settings section). Also make sure it says Password for authentication and not NTLM or other (or try them all).
    3. Make sure your Exchange admin has the necessary IMAP and SMTP ports open to the outside world and that an SSL certificate was added to the IMAP Exchange virtual server. I think most do not, and your BB may not have been using IMAP? also make sure the Exchange server has SP2 installed and that your user account has mobile and imap enabled on the server side.
    4. Try it on the internal Exchange network (LAN) using the iPhone Wifi wireless connection.
    5. Try deleting and re-adding your account on iphone with each of your new settings attempts just in case.
    6. Try it using iphone's IMAP add account option if the Exchange option doesn't work.

  • Performance mod_plsql / DAD

    Hi!
    I´ve made a system using mod_plsql.
    But it is very slow.
    I did some tests using the main procedure.
    If i execute the main procedure in sqlplus (I replaced "htp.p" with dbms_output.put_line),
    the procedure takes 16 ms to execute. Very fast.
    The same procedure executing by browser, using DAD, takes 10 seconds. Very slow.
    What is the secret to make procedures executing by DAD as fast as executing at terminal?
    Can anyone give me any tips?
    I told to the guys in charge of server configuration to follow this tips:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/portal.1111/e12041/optplsql.htm
    But there is a ego problem. They deny there is a problem with server configuration.
    Besides the test i told you before, there is a way (tools) so I can prove that the server
    is slowing down my system?

    mcardia wrote:
    I understand that in a client terminal it will be faster then throught web browser, but from 16 ms to 10 secs its a big diference.
    Also I´m in a gigabit LAN, so network speed should not be a problem.
    Something is wrong.
    the procedure generates a big html (text), and I think, based on my tests, that is the output that is slowing down my procedure.
    There is a configuration about buffers that controls the function htp.p? maybe is something like that.No special config options in this regard. And we have been using the HTP package for many years now and I cannot recall ever running into it as being the performance problem. Or seeing mod_plsql causing performance issues.
    You need to test each and every component in this client-server architecture in order to isolate and identify the performance problem.
    You can make call web enabled PL/SQL procedures (that generates HTML) directly from SQL and PL/SQL. This eliminates the browser, Apache web server, mod_plsql and the networking layer. For an example on how to do this, see {message:id=2251131}.

  • Reports work in Crystal Server XI, but not in XI Rel 2.

    Hello All. <br><br>
    We have recently migrated Crystal Reports Server from 11.0 to 11.5 (Release 2).

    I've compared some of the reports, and the only difference I can see between them is, the number of Oracle SQL statements which are used.  All the reports I've checked, that don't work; have five SQL statements.  Also, when I chopped out a few fields that are used by the lookups, the report worked (this removes one the SQL statements).
    <br><br>
    Are there any changes that I need to make to web.config, machine.config or the Oracle driver settings?
    <br><br>
    I've tried searching the forums, but cannot find the same sort of problem.  (Originally, a lot of the reports were not working, but after checking the forums, I was able to change a timeout in web.config, so that was very helpful, thanks).
    <br><br>
    Thanks for looking.  I'd be really grateful for any help.

    Honestly I have never used the server explorer for anything, so I am not sure what is needed for that to work.
    You need to install the Enterprise SDK on your dev box.
    Do a custom server install on your dev machine, unchecking everything except for the .NET SDK and Help files.

  • How do I connect to a SQL Server DB?

    I have a menu designed in Flash which has to pull back
    database records, how do I go about that? Every tutorial seems to
    be different and none are exactly what I am looking for.
    thanks
    Em

    Very true. This is a wide open field of decisions you have to
    make.
    First choice you have is sending via URL variable encoding or
    XML. That will define your tasks needed in ASP. As well would you
    want to simply (most beginners would) just have the ASP send the
    URL variables or XML with Response.write or are you planning a web
    service type of app.
    For Flash you will find the examples in the docs are all you
    need to get the data from the ASP and send back if necessary. Still
    the choices depend on the server (ASP) choices.
    For URL Encoding from ASP:
    LoadVars.load
    For URL Encoding to and from ASP:
    LoadVars.sendAndLoad
    For XML from ASP:
    XML.load
    For XML to and from ASP:
    XML.sendAndLoad
    For overall details on data integration
    Many folks like using the Flash 8 Pro DataGrid component for
    a quick UI to display a SQL select result. You would populate it
    using
    DataGrid.addItem.
    You can also bind the DataGrid to data providers such as an
    array so it updates when the data source changes.
    You also can use many of the Flash 8 Pro UI components in a
    data integration that binds them to a data connector component:
    FLash
    8 Pro data binding component approach. You should review
    Data
    Integration in the Flash Docs for this approach.
    If you need some decisions:
    1. Select a scripting language: ASP, PHP, ASP.Net, JSP, Perl,
    ColdFusion
    2. Select the database: mySQL, SQL Server, Oracle
    3. Decide how you want to send data to and from Flash (XML,
    Url variables, Web Services)
    4. Write a server script that can do the database work you
    want and just use html forms to prove those scripts out.
    5. Look up the docs in Flash for #3 and do the Flash UI.
    You might see from this that Flash or HTML would work with
    the same server scripts.

  • SSTP problem on Windows Server 2008 r2, clients getting error 0x8007274C

    PROBLEM: Clients keep getting error 0x8007274C when attempting to connect to the VPN server using SSTP.
    SYMPTOMS:
    - L2TP connections works great
    --- L2TP connections generate RemoteAccess events in Event viewer, but none whatsoever for the failed SSTP attempts
    - Client CANNOT ACCESS
    https://vpn.mycompany.net/sra_{BA195980-CD49-458b-9E23-C84EE0ADCD75}
    - After several attempts to check and recheck RRAS Setup.  Added IIS Role (much later) just to prove that cert is valid.
    --- If server's RRAS service disabled, IIS enabled, client is able to browse to that VPN server, certificate checks out.
    http://vpn.mycompany.net &
    https://vpn.mycompany.net.
    --- However, if RRAS service is running, IIS would not respond to either HTTP nor HTTPS traffic.
    --- SSTP won't work whether or not WWW service is running.
    - Port Scanner tests to the VPN Server reveals that port 80 & 443 are not open when RRAS service is running and IIS service stopped.
    --- But, when RRAS service is stopped and IIS is running, port 80 & 443 responds.
    --- Not sure whether 443 is [b]supposed to be open[/b] when only RRAS is running.

    CLIENT:
    ============================================================================
    - Vista SP1 (32-bit), Windows 7 (32-bit), Windows 7 x64 SP1
    - CRL entry is resolvable
    - vpn.mycompany.net certificate installed in Local Computer > Trusted Root CA
    - SSTP Client connecting to FQDN vpn.mycompany.net
    - Windows Firewall is DISABLED  (for testing purposes)
    - No Anti Virus nor Anti Malware protection running  (for testing purposes)
    - Can access other HTTPS sites
    ============================================================================
    SERVER (Windows 2008 Svr r2; Roles: DNS, AD, RRAS):
    ============================================================================
    - 2 NICS (1 bound to an internal IP, 1 bound to an external IP addr)
    -- External NIC bound to a valid ISP IP Address, with a FQDN vpn.mycompany.net
    - Windows Firewall Service on Server DISABLED
    - No other device in front of the external IP addr NIC
    - IPV6 on RRAS DISABLED
    - NO RRAS Inbound/Outbound filter at all
    - Windows Firewall Service disabled
    - Using external Certificate Authority
    - Certs bound to port 443 seem to match in registry key HKLM\...\SstpSvc\Parameters
    It seems that the VPN server is simply not accepting the SSTP traffic.  I don't think we've even gotten to certificate negotiation.
    Been trying for a few days now, have consulted many SSTP online resources (MS and others) before posting.
    Am stumped.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, I'm in the exact same situation and for once google is of no help. I have tried to get a simple connect through to my server (by using "telnet vpn.myserver.com 443") but it will only timeout. After deactivating the Windows firewall on the VPN box (which
    is a virtual machine on a Hyper-V R2 SP1) I can locally telnet the VPN box and even get the special url (https://vpn.myserver.com/sra_{BA195980-CD49-458b-9E23-C84EE0ADCD75}/) to work. But this only works on the VPN box itself, no other server or client is
    able to contact it. I have tried to connect from another server sitting next to the vpn box and in the same subnet (public IPs) but couldn't connect either. PPTP and L2TP connections are working but not SSTP. Another approach was to manually bind the http.sys
    to specific IPs. No change. I'm fresh out of ideas. Anyone? regards, ck

  • Passing variables to server is not working

    I am new to action scripts, so I'm not even sure where to
    start. I have bits and pieces that I know work, but am not sure why
    the action script and the php file on the server do not seem to be
    talking correctly to each other. The action script seems to work if
    I do not pass any variables, but only just a generic mail()
    function in the php file - i.e. mail("[email protected]","Subject is
    photography","Mail message body is here."). If I try to use the
    variables passed from the action script, I get nothing :-(
    Here is the section of the action script and the php file
    that I am using currently (i have modified it many time and tried
    many things on the php side)
    //sends the data out
    bSend.onRelease = function() {
    var targetLoadVars:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    var myLoadVars:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    //sets form focus
    focusManger.setFocus(tiEmailTo);
    myLoadVars.emailFrom = c.text;
    myLoadVars.emailTo = "[email protected]";
    myLoadVars.subject = "Photography Info";
    myLoadVars.name = a.text;
    myLoadVars.message = d.text;
    myLoadVars.sendAndLoad ("
    http://someweb.com/feedbck-1a.php",
    targetLoadVars, "POST");
    targetLoadVars.onLoad = function() {
    trace(this.success);
    This is the feedbck-1.php file on the someweb.com server
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0
    Transitional//EN"
    http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="
    http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
    charset=iso-8859-1" />
    <title>feedbck-1.php</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <?
    include("FormValidator.class");
    // instantiate object
    $fv = new form_validator();
    name = targetLoadVars.name;
    emailFrom = targetLoadVars.emailFrom;
    message = targetLoadVars.message;
    emailTo = targetLoadVars.emailTo;
    if ($fv->validate_fields("name, emailFrom, message,
    emailTo"))
    mail($emailTo,"Photography inquiry",$message);
    else
    // or list errors
    echo "The form could not be processed because the
    following fields contained invalid data:";
    echo "<ul>";
    foreach ($fv->error_array as $e)
    echo "<li>$e";
    echo "</ul>";
    ?>
    </body>
    </html>

    Couple of thoughts
    1. The PHP side must only return (echo) standard MIME format
    application/x-www-form-urlencoded(a standard format used by CGI
    scripts).
    &var=value$var=value&var=value
    So you need to remove all the HTML and only have <?php at
    start and ?> at the end with no whitespace before or after these
    tags including tabs, enter keys and spaces.
    Inside you have echo return the URL encoded variables.
    2. Prove the PHP script outside of Flash by creating a
    standard HTML form that sends the values. This will allow you to
    see the return values from the PHP script that they are in the
    requisite encoded form and any PHP errors assuming you have the PHP
    error messages open.
    3. Place
    targetLoadVars.onLoad = function() {
    trace(this.success);
    before the sendAndLoad.
    You are assigning a variable and it is remotely possible that
    the sendAndLoad fires the onLoad before the lines following it are
    processed. A remotely possible failure is not a good item to have
    in code.
    4. Also might be a variable scope problem:
    Define these outside of the onRelease function.
    var targetLoadVars:LoadVars;
    var myLoadVars:LoadVars;
    Inside the onRelease
    targetLoadVars = new LoadVars();
    myLoadVars = new LoadVars();
