Provisioning roles to a JAVA system

Hi Experts!
I'm working on a syncronization job between IDM and SAP JAVA. In this job I need to pass the username and the rolename that I want to pass from IDM to the SAP JAVA system.  I can get the user and role information from both systems, however I'm a little stuck on passing this information back to SAP JAVA.
From what I can see from the Framework, the pass SetJavaRoleForUser&Group is the one that would do what I need, but I'm not quite seeing how the user information gets passed in.  Has anyone done anything like this before?  Got any pointers?
Thanks!
Matt

Hi Matt,
not sure if this helps, but did this few years ago on 7.0.. What assignedroles and assignedgroups expected were just pipe-delimeted list of AS Java role/group-names. I doubt this has changed since.
Just write a custom script that gets the groups/roles from the link-tables and pass the values forward. You need to replace the IdM-prefix ("PRIV:ROLE/GROUP:[REP_NAME]:") from the privilege name and put "SPML.SAPROLE." (or "SPML.SAPGROUP.") inplace.

  • Problem in provisioning role to a particular system urgen

    Hi all,
I am getting the following error while provisioning the roles in AE. I checked the configurations and connectors everything is working fine with all other system. Only with this particular system i have the problem in provisioning the things.
I believe the problem is more pertaining to BAPI and not to do with SAP GRC. Please guide me on this.

    Regards,

    Hi Suma,
Did you check that VIRSANH/VIRSAHR BAPI are correctly installed on relevant back-ends ? Moreover, if using CUA to provision users, BAPI should be installed not only on the system hosting the CUA, but on every client system (eg. ECC, SRM, BI, ...).
You also may verify in SPAM transaction that you installed correct BAPI depending on your basis install (640, 700, ...) and on your GRC AC version (5.1, 5.2, ...). For example, if you are installing AC 5.2 on a BASIS700 system, corresponding package should be VIRSANH520_700 and/or VIRSAHR520_700. You may find more detailed information in "GRC Access Control ABAP install guide".
    Best regards,

  • Integrate GRC 10.1 with CUA and how to import roles from CUA & Child systems into GRC for provisioning

    Hello,
I am trying to integrate CUA into our GRC 10.1 system through the below steps and so far I have completed the below steps following SAP Notes 1680108 and 1616121:
    1. Connected CUABOX to GRCBOX like a plug-in system.
    2. Updated CUA Global System and CUA Model Distribution in Maintain CUA settings under User Provisioning.
    3. Next I am trying to import the roles from CUA(CUABOX) into GRC(GRCBOX) to be able to provision roles in CUA Child Systems(ECCBOX).
After reading few discussions in SCN, I have figured that we have to download a template in Role Import and populate it accordingly to upload the CUA child system roles into GRC system for provisioning in CUA Child Systems.
Unfortunately, this template has multiple fields and I am unable to determine the fields that should be populated as CUA Global System and CUA Child System to import into GRC. Also, when we upload CUA Child System Roles template what selections should be made in Role Import window.
Any help in this regard is very helpful.
    Thank you,
    Pawan

    Hi Alessandro,
I have "Create user if does not exist" setting checked for both change action and assign role action and also have CUA enabled. Here is the list of steps that I am performing:
    1. Create an access request for new account, T-CUA_CHILD and select a role from a child system ECC Z_ECC_ROLE_IN_CHILD_SYSTEM.
    2. Approvals provided to assign the ECC role.
    3. I see the following in GRFNMW_DBGMONITOR_WD.
Auto provisioning activity at end of request at Path GRAC_DEFAULT_PATH and Stage              GRAC_SECURITY
New User:T-CUA_CHILD created in System(s): ECC (created without role assignments)
T-CUA_CHILD User does not exist in target system CUA
GRC created an account without role assignment in ECC but also throwed me an error that the user does not exist in CUA.
However, if I select roles from both CUA and ECC it creates the account in both systems with the selected role assignments.
So I am wondering if there is way to provide CUA access to users by default for new account requests types. I have tried setting up default roles for CUA but it does not assign the roles by default until I select the CUA system.
    Thank you for your help!

  • CUA with AS Java systems

    Hi "Team"
Some of you may have read my previous post on SSO and CUA (I don't know how to post the link to that here, sorry).
Following up on that discussion, I'm no longer dealing with the SSO part of my problem.  I, however, need to get a good idea of how to get an AS Java system to get user and role assignments from my CUA master.  I've seen this done before.
The problem I'm facing is that I have documentation (that I've only partially read) that suggests how to go about getting the AS Java system to use an AS ABAP system as a user store, and I get the part that the AS JAVA system will read the user list from the ABAP system, and stay up to date.  But I'm not clear on how the role assignments between the CUA box and the JAVA box are setup.
The way I've seen it is that dummy roles are created in the AS ABAP box that is used as the user store (e.g. ECQ or something else) and then there is some correlation between those roles and the AS JAVA roles.
Any suggestions on where I'd start getting this information together?
    Thanks a lot!
    Santosh Krishnan

    Julius,
I agree with you.  But my client has made promises to their big guys and so they've made agreements (way prior to bringing me onboard to get this all going) that I have no influence upon.  I actually suggested exactly what you wrote, but I got so much heat on it, I now have a healthy burnt look.
So I'm going to have to implement CUA, and get the AS JAVA boxes to use that method to provision users and handle role assignments.
However I didn't get your point about many many clients.  Am I missing something regarding the setup?  So far (with the information I have), I was thinking I'd designate one ABAP system as the user store for the Java systems.  Do elaborate.
    Thanks a lot.

two days later, the same problem happened again. I restarted my computer , it still did not work. so I have to change my port number in the domain.xml. sometimes it woks well, but sometimes I can't not startup.

    Hi,
Restarting the computer should have stopped the appserver.
To kill the appserver manually you can go to the command prompt
    <install-dir>\Sun\Creator2\SunAppServer8\bin\asadmin.bat\stop-appserv
    Thanks,

    CAFUIAdmin
    Everyone
    SAP_ARCH_SUPERADMIN

  • Error while provisioning roles (SetABAPRole&ProfileForUser)

    Hi Experts
While provisioning roles in IDM 7.2, I see this error in the Job logs:
Failed running function in string "$FUNCTION.sap_abap_getNameOfAssignedPendingPrivileges(mskey!!repname!!role!!true)$$". Marking entry as failed. Exception was: undefined: "sap_abap_convertToABAPValidFromDate" is not defined.
I am getting this error only if I provision the existing SAP users. Assigning any role to a new user works fine. Went through both the above mentioned scripts, but don't see any Problem there.
    What am I missing here?
    Best regards
    Annapurna

    Hi Annapurna,
I was just going through the setup in our landscape and noticed that we have only one script for Assign User Membership to ABAP which is "sap_abap_getNameOfAssignedPendingPrivileges"
As mentioned by Jai earlier, we have the same script as Jai.
Can you try by using the below script for "sap_abap_getNameOfAssignedPendingPrivileges" and delete the other two and try to execute?
Not sure, if this could work, but maybe can give a try.
    Script below:

  • In SLD WEB AS JAVA systems

    hi,
I had a small query that for WEB AS ABAP we use application systems like APO,SCM etc
but for WEB AS JAVA . which application systems are used ?
    regards
    guna

    Hello Guna,
WEB AS JAVA . which application systems are used ?
Web AS Java systems) automatically report information to the SLD about the elements that they contain by using the SLD data supplier programs. You need to manually register the following types of system only:
    ·        Standalone Java systems
    ·        Third-party systems
To manually register these systems – and if you want to maintain additional data about automatically registered systems – you use the technical system browser.
WEB AS JAVA . which application systems are used ?
    Database Only as Data Source
Description: All user, user account, role, and group data is stored in the database of the SAP Web Application Server Java.
Use case: You can use this scenario if UME is only used by dedicated Java applications that do not need to connect to ABAP systems or third-party systems. An example is a Web Application Server Java that is used as a developer workplace for small desktop development
    Configuration file: dataSourceConfiguration_database_only.xml

This is an element ordering issue. env-entry is before resource-ref in the schema so it must be declared in the same order.

  • Unable to define a Java system in solman_workcenter

    Dear experts,
I am trying to define a Java system in our Solution Manager in order to be able to generate an .xml stack configuration file
for an upgrade. The diagnostics agent has been installed.
I am clicking on Configure System in solman_workcenter, a new web browser opens with a multi-step setup.
I am getting to step 6 to create users. My user store is an ABAP system. At this step, there are 2 users, that need to be
    created automatically: SAPSUPPORT and SM_COLL_<SID>.
In the Action combobox, there are only 2 options - Do nothing and Provide Existing User, though no option to create those
    users automatically...
The SAPSUPPORT user already exists, as it was created during defining the ABAP system. I have created the SM_COLL_<SID>
user manually in the useradmin panel of Java and I have assigned the suggested roles to it.
I have selected Provide Existing User, typed in the password and after clicking on Execute, the following error pops up:
User J2EE_ADMIN is not allowed to perform this request. Check SAP Note 1647157.
I have googled a little and found SAP Note 1647267 - Solution Manager adaptation to Java UME security, and downloaded
it on our Solution Manager, though it says "Cannot be implemented".
Though there is no way to say that this step is done and the point remains gray. Nevertheless, I decided to continue to the
next step 7, called Configure Automatically. When I click on Execute all, almost all the points are getting green, except for
WEB Services Logical Port Creation. It shows the following error: Java communication user is not operational. Activity aborted.
WHY ?? The user exists and is very well operational... !! Can I skip this point and go ahead ?
PLEASE help me !! Thanks :-)

    Hello Symon,
Based on the error message , I assumed that you are running managed system setup using "j2ee_admin" since admin users are not allowed for running setup configuration.
Please check note    1612514  - Solution Manager 7.1 SP Stack 03: recommended corrections
Current NW security policy implies that the "Create users" setup in Solution Manager transaction SOLMAN_SETUP (scenario "Managed system configuration") is failing for Java or double stack managed systems (including the Solution Manager system itself) and (some) users won't be created. There are two cases:
You encounter this error message: "An error occurred while processing the UME command READ_USER : SPML service failed to process searchRequestreply : <xxx> is not allowed to perform search request".
Action:The managed system Java setup user provided in "Enter System Parameters"needs to have additional permissions even though it is already an user with administrator privileges (see SAP note 1647157).
You encounter the error message: "An error occured while processing the UME command READ_USER from agent xxxx : no protocol: /nwaErrorPage. Please check SMD agent application logs", or other kind of errors.
    Action:
Given that the SPML service (on the managed system) is not accessible (see also SAP note 1616058), you need to double check manually whether the user has been already created with the requested type (dialog or technical user) and the appropriate roles (UME & J2EE security). Else create the user using the managed system UME for independent Java stack systems, or using transaction SU01 (or the Central User Administration system) in case an ABAP back-end is used. Be aware that the step "CreateUsers" might list some roles that do not exist on the managed system, as the available roles vary with the managed system releases. In such case, simply ignore the assignments for the none existing roles. Finally provide the username and password in the step "Create users" using for each user the "Provide existing user" action.
As per the case 1 , you need to have additional privileges ,which note 1647157 suggests to create.
Since you have manually created user in the system , I feel you can ignore this step.
    Regards,
    Archana

  • How deploy the EJB in security on the Sun Java System Application Server 9?

I hava deploied a simple Hello EJB Object on PE 9(Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9). I can use this EJB object without user name an password On any client. See the following code section:
         public static void main(String[] args) {

Go to visual admin -> server -> services -> JCO RFC provider.
Check the RFC that connects to the BI Abap.
Its reporting the J2EE_GUEST user in the SAP with the system nr 00.
    Is this BI java portal?
Is the java portal a addon to Abap or having seperate SID?
Check the connection definitions are correct and the gateway is running.

  • Administration differences between an As Java system and an As ABAP system?

Hi, I'm not that familiar with SAP systems that are As Java based only, so apologies in advance if I ask real stupid questions here!!
Can someone please explain how one logs onto an As Java only system?... ie without the ABAP stack does one still use the SAP logon pad or am I getting confused here totally???
Also how does one do transports in an As Java system?
If you could send me a document that explains the main differences between an As ABAP system and an As Java system, particularly the differences in administrating these systems that would be very useful. My email address is [email protected]
    Many thanks
    Ash

    Hi,
Can someone please explain how one logs onto an As Java only system?.
You can login through browser, use NetWeaver Administrator for most of your activities. There is also Visual Administrator/ Config tool etc these have seperate GUIs.
It would not be easy to list out the options but i suggest you read understand info from help regarding the details below so that you can administer Java servers:
    Visual Administrator
    NetWeaver Administrator
    Config tool.
    SDM
With the knowledge of the tools above you can start of administrating Java servers.
Also how does one do transports in an As Java system?
You install Portal on Java server and then do transports. You should be having a system administration role.
Please do a search in help.sap.com and you will find loads of data on WEBAS Java administration.
    Thanks & regards,
    Vijith

  • OIM: Hide provisioned roles/responsibilities in the modify provisioned resource request dataset

    Hi,
We are provisioning Oracle E-Business Suite R12 through EBS UM connector. Is there a way where we can either hide the already provisioned EBS roles/responsibilities in the available list of roles/responsibilities or move these under Selected Responsibilities and make them non-editable ? I couldn't find a way to do that in the Modify Provisioned Resource E-Business Suite Request Dataset. Please advise
    Thanking in Advance
    Abir

    1. End user raising the request is able to view the process form, I need to restrict few attributes i.e. position and responsiblity should not be visible to end userEnd user will see Application Instance Form and you can customize the UI to hide attributes
    2. Position and Responsibility should be provided by approver (this is specified in request data set of provision resource)
Make your Java Code/Beans/Expression to show/hide attributes conditionally.
    3. As per Oracle document there is no request data set for PROVISION and MODIFY resource. What is the replacement for this?Application Instance Form
    4. After Request is raised it has been assgined to xelsysadm, how do i control the approval ?Approval Policies

  • Is this bugs for Sun Java System Portal Server 6 2005Q4 (errorStoreDP) ?

    Hi,
I installed Sun Java System Portal Server 6 2005Q4 under window xp environment.
I used the following command to deploy war file, it worked for me (because I setup enough services and role for amadmin user), deploy/undeploy was worked very well for me.
    pdeploy deploy -u amadmin -w amAdminPassword -g -p
    amAdminPassword -v portletsamples.war
Two months later, I did not change anything (configuration) within the two months.
I use the same deploy/undeploy command to deploy war file again, I got the following error =>
    errorStoreDP (sms-UNKNOWN_EXCEPTION_OCCURRED)
Message:The user does not have permission to perform the operation.
Why this condition happened ? is this bugs for sun portal server ?
I uninstall this sun portal server and reinstall it again, I still got
the same error message. why ?
But funny thing is that I format my machine, then install window xp and
install System Portal Server 6 2005Q4 again, then it works for me again.
    is this reasonable ?
    I really don't know why ?
    Can someone help me ?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
It seems you are really asking how you should design your application to use portlets.
Your approach now seems to be that you would just copy your servlets to portlets. You can use the PortletRequestDispatcher to include content from your servlet. See http://portals.apache.org/pluto/multiproject/portlet-api/apidocs/javax/portlet/PortletRequestDispatcher.html
I also found the following discussion on this topic http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00481.html
But I don't think I'd recommend that approach for your application. How would you maintain the application going forward? You will have both servlets and portlets to maintain when you change the applicaiton. I assume you will be keeping the servlet application and using it also? Do you want the portlet content to match the servlet content always, or will they display differently?
Instead, what you might consider an model-view-controller approach and designing a web service (the model) for both applications (servlet and portlet, views) to consume.
As for the basics of porlet applications, the JSPPortlet will use JSPs for presentation of hte portlet content. GenericPortlet is the default implementation of the Portlet interface. Implementing the portlet interface means you must write the implementation yourself. Here are a couple of good tutorials to get you started on the Portlet spec:
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-08-2003/jw-0801-portlet.html
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-09-2003/jw-0905-portlet2.html
Also there is this JSE tutorial, but I don't know how current it is:
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/portalserver/reference/techart/portlets.html
    Hope that helps.
