PS font in windows 7

Anybody know anything about:
CS3 - on windows 7 (working in XP mode) - Font server: Universal Font.
Trouble is that PS font don't work in the Adobe CS 3 all applikations.
Any soloution?

Fix for UI fond and menu size for Ps CC 2014.
I just purchased a 4K monitor a few days ago and after setting up text size in Win 8.1 everything worked great except Photoshop.
So after much time looking to find an answer without any luck, I found one myself!
So if there is people out there with that have a 4K monitor or any higher than 1920x1080p monitors in general, here is the solution for you!!
Open Ps CC 2014.
Go to:  Edit/Preferences/Experimental Features
Click on box: Scale UI 200% for Higher density displays (Windows only)
reset Ps,
and enjoy!!

There are some programs like http://www.ilovefreesoftware.com/09/windows8/change-the-default-font-in-windows-8-windows-8-font-changer.html in internet. But how i see it's don't change all fonts.
How to cahnge all fon'ts in windows 8.1 to Tahoma 8 for example?

This is supposed to be a better program than Win 8.
Did someone from Microsoft Marketing tell you that?  Maybe a fanboy?  :)
In all seriousness it's not better in any obvious way than Win 8, nor is it really any better than Win 7.  It can be tweaked to be just about as good.  And to be fair, it's stable.
I mean yes, we all expected Win 8.1 to be better than its predecessors
    - software releases are supposed to give you some value, some good reason to upgrade - but that kind of goes away when the software maker feels they have a captive audience as Microsoft does, and especially when they still have plenty of businesses
buying Win 7, which pays their bills.
But like it or not, removed choices or not, apparently Windows 8 is here to stay.  Joshua up above says "You fail", but have they really?  Once you're patching it up to make it usable they've already got your license fee, and your
alternatives to running Windows are what, exactly?

  • Java program for installing font on windows

    Hi,
I want to write a java program that installs required fonts on windows machine. On my machine windows is installed on "C:\WINDOWS" directory.
So, naturally "c:\WINDOWS\Fonts" directory I want to paste my font files.
I am writing file handling code for the same. But, how to know dynamically the location of windows installation directory?
I tried using System.getProperty("windir"), but it is not working?
    Can somebody help me?
    regards,
    Anand

    1) Use VB
    2) Who said that such a property exists?
    3) In Java 1.5, use System.getEnv()

  • Installing type 1 font in Windows 7 - AWEFUL customer support

I purchased and installed Helvetica Bold Oblique font this morning and downloaded it to install on my computer. I have @600 fonts on my machine, so this isn't my first attempt at installing fonts, but it's certainly been the most annoying and it's exposed Adobe customer support as one of the most incompetent I've dealt with in decades. Let me preface this by saying I've had every version of Adobe Creative Suite software and use the products extensively, but this painfully simple issue of installing ONE FONT has got on my last nerve.
So, when attempting to install the font, it errors and provides the following feedback: The file is a 'PFB' file for a type 1 font and cannot be installed directly. Please install the associated 'PFM' file. I've downloaded the font files twice, and neither includes a 'PFM' file. There's a 'PFB' file and 'AFM' file, but no PFB file. I even tried installing the 'AFM' file, but no luck. After spending over an hour on the phone with a completely computer illiterate foreign support staffer, I'm at the end of my rope. She didn't know the first thing about Windows 7, and starts telling me to look for options that don't even exist in the operating system. I SIMPLY NEED TO INSTALL ONE FONT.
So, is there anyone that can help make this the simple 5 second operation that it should be? I'll have to ask for some latitude on the anger - I'm just blown away at how stupidly difficult this has become, when it should be as simple as flipping a light switch. Any help is much appreciated.
    System:
    3.2 Xeon Quad core
    2x2 TB drives
    2x1 TB drives
    32 GB RAM
    Nvidia Quadro 5600 display adapter
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Adobe CS4 Master Collection

I'm sorry to hear about the frustration. I'm not using Windows 7 yet, but it does sound like its font installation process has changed. I did some searching and came up with a free utility to convert the AFM and INF files that come with Type 1 fonts to the PFM file that is needed (along with the actual PFB font file).
The utility is called AfmToPFM and can be found on this site:  http://www.proximasoftware.com/download.htm (direct link at http://www.proximasoftware.com/afmtopfm/)
I have never tried it, but I did see a couple of references to it being the solution for installing Type 1 fonts into Windows 7.

  • Missing fonts in Windows InDesign CC'14 vs OSX

We are a school with about 500 Windows 7 machines. We also have an iMac suite (about 25 strong). We have a Creative Cloud subscription and have deployed it to all of our computer suites and our iMac suite. CC 2014 versions of the relevant products have all been pushed out, so there should be parity between the two platforms.
Our problem is that our Windows clients are outright missing 90% of the TrueType fonts that are available on the OSX (Mavericks) clients. Most of the Media classes are taken in the iMac suite, and therefore the majority of their content has been created in there, but two or three times per week the classes rotate to a Windows suite. Some students are encountering issues where fonts are missing after opening their INDDs in InDesign for Windows.
I discovered that InDesign for OSX has vastly more fonts than on its Windows counterpart, specifically of the TrueType variety. About 90% of the TrueType fonts on Windows were missing. As far as I could tell, all of the OpenType fonts matched.
Students get the follow dialogue when they launch InDesign with a missing font:
So yeah, that's my issue. I've literally spent all afternoon researching this issue to no avail and am pretty much stumped at this point.
Any help and advice will be more than appreciated!
    Thanks for reading.

Early on in the life of Mac OS X (which has been around for over 10 years in multiple versions—we're now at 10.10), Apple advertised how many beautiful fonts were available with Mac OS X. And, it's true, they do install a lot of TrueType fonts.
Microsoft provides much fewer. As far as I can tell, most of them are installed with you install Microsoft Office products.
It's just the way it is.
I guess you could show students a list of the fonts installed with Creative Cloud apps (Minion Pro, Myriad Pro, etc.). You could also teach them about downloading Typeset fonts (although they won't be able to carry those to another location which doesn't have a CC subscription).

  • How to install Adobe Hypatia Fonts in Windows 8?

I recently downloaded the Acrobat software and am entitled to a free gift after registering the product. I opted for free download of the Adobe Hypatia Font Family.  However, the installation instructions did not include how to install the fonts in Windows 8. Can someone kindly guide me through the process? Many thanks.

  • Install Font in Windows 7 with MDT

I need to install company fonts in windows 7. I use MDT 2010 to install OS and my applications, this works great, but when I try to install fonts (the way I use to do for XP,...objFontsFolder.CopyHere FontName...) it just does not work. The fonts are not installed.
How can I install a font using MDT in Windows 7
    Thanks
    Daryl

yes create a windows and fonts folder
yes I have done it under post install
It better to store reg file in the deploymentshare because during installation it is not easy to run or access a reg file from a network share.
    Chris
I made folder as suggested and copied fonts that I wanted to use with new win7 image but after I re-imaged one of out laptops I cant see that those fonts are actually copied/installed.
Let me explain in steps what I did to avoid any confusion:
    1. made folder under deployment share D:\DeploymentShare\$OEM$\$1\Windows\Fonts and added 10 diff fonts
    2. added new tasksequence under post install (run command line) and added line regedit /s %SCRIPTROOT%\fonts.reg
    3. made fonts.reg and added it to D:\DeploymentShare\Scripts
This is how fonts.reg looks like:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts]
    "somefont1 (TrueType)"="somefont1.TTF"
    "somefont2 (TrueType)"="somefont2.TTF"
and so on to nr 10...
What am I doing wrong ?

  • Fonts on windows become faded

fonts on windows menu bars and message boxes etc. become faded after opening the geforce fx 5700 window in advanced settings, after shutting down and then rebooting the fonts appear as normal,  just recently installed this card with driver 5.2.1.4 on win2k prof.     any advice on this much appreciated

This is common, and under several configurations I have experienced this too. It has something to do with clear type font settings in XP, native resolution on your monitor, brightness settings and refresh rates.
If the refresh rate is high and the brightness, contrast and gamma settings are too high, you will see this anomally. It's a matter of finding the sweet spot with your particular configuration.
That's about all I can say on this, I have been able to correct or minimize this but haven't come to the magic bullet as I usually try several settings in combination so it's hard to pin down.

  • I do I make all fonts from Windows/Fonts available to CS5 ?

It used to be that I very rarely used fonts within CS5 but recently I have.  I realized that all of the fonts supposedly included with CS5 are not available via my drop down menu.
I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts.  These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.
I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu.  Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files.  The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.
Can anyone help me with this problem?  Thanks!

Sometimes the font names are shown with slightly different names in windows, depending on the program.
For example, in photoshop cs5 if you scroll the font list almost to the bottom, do you see a font named Kozuka Gothic Pr6N
I believe that is the same as the KozGoPr6N font(s) listed in the windows font folder.
The different font styles (Bold, Heavy, Light etc.) are listed under the font styles drop-down just to the right of the font list in the tool options bar.
I believe the font menu in photoshop cs5 sorts/shows the fonts by script.
This script might make it easier to indentify the fonts as shown in photoshop with the names shown in the windows fonts folder.
    Show Font Name.jsx

  • Installing PS1 Fonts on Windows 7

    Hello,
I use a mac at work but a Windows 7 64-bit machine at home. I'm taking some work with me and I'm looking at the font files that I'll need and I see a bunch of PostScript Type 1 files and one .scr file. I was looking up how to install PostScript Type 1 fonts on Windows 7 and read that you need both the .pfm and .pfb files, but I don't see these here. First, what is the .scr file, and second, will I still be able to download these fonts on to my PC?
    Thanks in advance!
    Tom

Unfortunately, the format for Type 1 files for WIndows is very different from that of MacOS.
For Windows, the font file itself has the suffix .pfb (PostScript Font Binary) and the extended font metrics file has the suffix .pfm (PostScript Font Metrics). Both must be available for the font to be installed and used under Windows. Typically, the two files would be in the same directory. You right-click the .pfm file and chose the Install font option.
The MacOS versions of Type 1 fonts cannot be used under Windows. Typically the font foundry that has supplied you with the MacOS version would also have the same fonts in the Windows format.

  • Can't get fonts from windows to come up in CS4 photoshop

Hello, I have CS4 photoshop extended, and i can't get the fonts that come with Windows Vista to come up on CS4 photoshop also i have illustrator CS4 and i get the same response on the fonts over there.  I tried copying the fonts from windows to the fonts folder in adobe and it just kicks it out.  The fonts i am trying to load is Arial Black,Arial bold, helevitica, just to name a few, i don't want to have to pay for those fonts if i already have them.  Any suggestions?  Tim McCuiston

Be aware that some fonts are listed under different names in Adobe programs and that some show the main name to the left window and the variations in the right.

  • Fonts in Windows look bad.

    Hi
Compared to the look of fonts on a "real" PC, fonts in Windows on a Mac in boot camp look pretty bad. I have installed the drivers from the Mac CD after installing windows.
I use IE to check web sites that I do on the Mac, but the fonts look way worse than on a "real" PC.
Is there any way to get them looking the same as on a PC?
I have an Apple 20in Cinema Display, if that makes any difference.
    thanks
    peter

Not sure if this is the font smoothing issue which is active by default on windows or not. You can try the following and see if it helps.
RIGHT CLICK on any open portion of the Windows Desktop.
DISPLAY PROPERTIES Window should open up
    Choose the APPEARANCE Tab
At the bottome right click on the EFFECTS button
Check to see that the setting for USE THE FOLLOWING METHOD TO SMOOTH EDGES OF SCREEN FONTS: is set to STANDARD.
Select OK on the remaining windows and see if that makes a difference.

  • Can't select my fonts with my font family window

    Hi gang,
I need help figuring out what I need to do. When I compose a New Mail document, I have Fonts that I can click and a separate window comes up and I can change fonts if I want. Well, I used to be able to! Now when I click the Font button I get a blank window with nothing but sizes. There's nothing in the Family section. I can't make anything italic or bold unless I use the key commands.
For normal typing it's not a big deal since I do have my default font. But when I copied and pasted a section from Wikipedia, I can't even change the fonts to match my default font, because when I select the passage of course no fonts show up in the Fonts family window. Is there a way to get this back to normal?
Any helpful feedback would be appreciated. I'll check back tomorrow.

    Hi Iris,
I know this sounds dumb, but in the Collections
column of Fonts do you have "All Fonts"
    highlighted?
Some of my "Collections" don't have any corresponding
"Families" therefore no list of fonts - only sizes.
    Regards,
    John
    Hi John,
Thanks for responding to me, I appreciate it very much. There is no "Collections" column, so I don't have anywhere to select "All Fonts" on my Fonts palette. Like I explained, all I have are two sub-windows: one says "Family", and the other says "Size". There are four icons above the two sub-windows that show underscore, strikethrough, color of letter, and color of document. Below the two sub-windows is the search window. So, I don't have anywhere to select "All Fonts".
It wasn't a dumb question, it just seems to not apply to me! Thank you for even trying though...

  • How legal use Mac System Fonts on Windows? (eula truly invalid in Europe)?

How can i legal use Mac OS 7 or X System Fonts on Windows?
I plan to buy an old broken LC / Quadra or used Mac OS X CD and copy the Mac OS System Fonts to the Windows Machine.
I dont't understand the Mac OS X eula and can't find the Mac OS 7 eula on the web.
I heared the Apple Mac OS eula is invalid and irrelevant in europe.
(incompatible with european antitrust and consumer protection law)
PS: I know already, how i can convert dfont to truetype. It's no technical problem.

Just save.  There is no difference in files between platforms.
There are some Windows-centric font formats that aren't portable, by any OpenType or TrueType font will be portable between platforms.
