Psdx file

Photoshop Touch psdx format file will not open in Photoshop CC (file format not recognised) but opens fine in CS6

I will look into the issue, I'm not sure why this plugin is not listed anymore in the Creative Cloud files section. The CS6 plugin should work fine in CC, there have been no changes to the plugin for CC, but it is not a standard part of the Photoshop application install, so you still have to install it separately.

  • Can't load PSDX files in Photoshop CS6

I have downloaded and installed the Touch Apps Plugins but when I try to open a PSDX file it just tells me it's "the wrong kind of file". How do I open these on my desktop? I've been having this problem since the tablet version of PSTouch came out.

It seems there are two types of Application Manager!
    i) the one when you buy the full Photoshop CS6 (or any of the suites)
ii) the one when you are a clour member and rent Photoshop CS6 (or ...)
The first one i) does NOT allow to download the PSDX plugin.
So I installed the other ii) Application Manager, as proposed on the Adobe Cloud page. And I could download the plugin and it was nicely installed and usable in Photoshop.
!!! BUT !!! be careful. Afterwards my applications for which I paid (a lot of) money were just listed as "try" in the applicaiton manager.
Luckily I backed up the original "Adobe Application Manager" application beforehands* (as I was expecting something like that). I put it back, overwritting the new one. And it works again (I can update all my applicaitons). And now includes the plugin.

  • Photoshop doesn't open .PSDX files

Before you tell me to, I've already installed the Touch Apps plugin.  Still, when I try to open the file in Photoshop it just gives me an error saying "Could not complete your request because it is not the right type of document" I've been trying this since PS Touch came out I remember doing it once or twice in the beginning with CS6 but at some point it stopped working. Since then I've tried upgrading to CC and reinstalled the plugin several times.  This is also with any PSDX file, not just one.
I'm looking in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)\Plug-ins right now and it's empty except for a folder called Panels which is also empty.
It's kind of pointless to start a project in PS Touch if I can't continue working on it on my desktop.

Photoshop does not natively read PSDX files (those were created by a different team).
Did you previously download and install a plugin to read PSDX files?

  • Why can't I see image thumbnails of my .psdx files in my Creative Cloud Connection folder?

I am saving my projects to my Creative Cloud account and use the CC Connection. My .psdx files appear in my CC Connection folder as icons, not as image thumbnails. What am I doing wrong?

Btw, which OS are you using?
PSDX files might not be supported by the OS for a preview if that's what you mean about preview.
E.g. I cannot see the previews of PSD files either on a Windows desktop.
    thanks,

  • .idea & .psdx file icons not supported in Bridge?

I was wondering when bridge would support .idea & .psdx file icons.  I use bridge to browse my files and it would make life easier to have the icons supported.  You would thing something like that would have been thought of.  Does anyone know if that is something that is being worked on?  I was hoping it would have been supported in the newest version of bridge cc, but it's not.

I was hoping it would have been supported in the newest version of bridge cc, but it'snot.
Hoping alone is almost never enough...
Try to let your wish for this support know to Adobe and file a Feature request for it. Without any guarantee for success because very little has changed over the years in Bridge but still much better then hoping they can read your mind
The "Share an idea" field is the best way to try and maybe more people also jump in with this request:

  • Photoshop CC will not open psdx files

PS CC 14.0 x64 does not recognize psdx files - grey'd out on File>Open, error window returned when file is dragged onto PS icon in dock. (os 10.7.5). TouchApp Plugin was installed after PS CC install.

I am having the same problem.  I can not open a .psdx file in Photoshop CC.  I have installed the Touch App Plugins that are supposed to add support for this format to CC products.  It was working months ago before file sync was taken off line.  Now that the new and improved file sync is being rolled out,  the touch app format is not recognized by the desktop applications even though the touch app conversion app is in place.
The link to the December thread you mentioned is no help since it is a non-layer compatible work around and in no way a true fix to the problem.
Can someone take a fresh look at the compatibility problem?  Can they possibly check to see if the format of .psdx has changed or if the current "touch app plugins" is still valid?
I really am trying not to be a jerk about this, but there is a problem that needs to be addressed and fixed.  Work arounds that aren't fully functional are not solutions to a problem.
As an extra, I was trilled today when I got the email that file sync was alive and well, and being rolled out to customers.  Thank you for that!

  • Ps6 extended will not open .psdx file

I cannot open this file type for some reason. I am trying to open a .psdx file I downloaded from CC with PS. Error message says it is" not the right kind of document".  CC and ps6 are updated. What can I do please?

I guess i misunderstood your message.
You used photoshop cc to get the psdx file, but photoshop cs6 won't open it?
I believe you should be able to start the Crative Cloud desktop app and download and install the plugin for photoshop cs6.
    Under the Apps tab:
    Touch App Plugins

  • PSDX files are not loading in Photoshop even with plugin

I installed the Touch App Plugins from the Creative Cloud apps but when I try to open the files in Photoshop CS6 I just get a Windows error "Could not complete your request because it's not the right type of document".
Is there some other way to load them?

    Here's the problem.
You need the AdobePSDXFileLoader.plugin , which should be installed by Touch App Plugins.  However, the installer does not check for PS CC. If you still have your Adobe Photoshop CS6 directory around you can copy the file from there.  Even if you've uninstalled, by default the uninstaller will leave the directory for anything that PS CS6 did not install (ie, plugins).
If you don't have PS CS6 installed... Well, you're going to have to install it.  Install it.  Uninstall Touch Apps Plugins, if you have it installed. Then install Touch Apps Plugins to get the plugin file, and copy it to the plugins directory of your PS CC install.  Restart Photoshop, and it will be able to open PSDX files.
Here's the bit from the logs that proves the installer doesn't know about CC:

  • PS CC does not open psdx-files

Hallo, PS CC does not open psdx-files, although I installed the Touchapp-Plugin. In PS CS6 there were no problems.

Did you install the optional plugin in Photoshop CC?
It won't be automatically copied from CS6.

  • What is a PSDX file?

I noticed when I uploaded my Photoshop Touch file to the Creative Cloud, it was given an extension of .psdx. What does this mean, and can I open this file in Photoshop?

PSDX is the file extension used by Photoshop Touch. You can open PSDX files in Photoshop CS5, as long as you have installed a plugin first.
After you download and install the Creative Suite plug-ins (for Photoshop Touch and Adobe Ideas), you can open files created with Adobe Touch Apps directly within certain Adobe Creative Suite applications. You can also save native Creative Suite files to Creative Cloud, and then access them in from within your Adobe Touch Apps.

  • What version of Photoshop do I need to open PSDX files?

I have a tablet with PS Touch, and a copy of Photoshop CS4.  Can I open PS Touch PSDX files in my version of Photoshop?

To open PSDX files in Photoshop, you will need Photoshop CS5. You will also need to download the plug-in to enable Photoshop CS5 to open PSDX files. For more information about using Photoshop Touch with Photoshop CS5, see this forum article. Another helpful resource is this new video by Russell Brown called, File Format Options with Photoshop Touch.

  • 'exporting' psdx files via email

I'm not hooked up to the create cloud, so it seems the only other option I have to get my PSDX files to my desktop computer--to work on them in PS--is to email the files to myself.
    I just want to confirm:
is this the only other option besides the CC?
it seems also that I can only attach one file per email--is this true?
    Regards, David.

Think it depends on the file sizes; I know that I get an error message if the file is too big.
You can use other cloud services too like Dropbox. That's what I use all the time when I want to transfer PSDX files.

  • Where can I download the plugin for .psdx files

I have photoshop cs5.1 extended on a win7 desktop and photoshop touch on an android tablet.  I've read that there is a plugin called touch app plugins and I'm directed to adobe's download page but that plugin does not seem to exist there. Where can I download the plugin to open .psdx files in photoshop?

If the above doesn't work, this one should, but only in the 64 bit version of photoshop cs5.1
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/psdx-files-dont-open-photoshop.html
After you extract the plugin (AdobePSDXLoader.8BI) put it in
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\File Formats
