PSE 12 Fuji compatibility

I have PSE12 on Mac OS 10.10.2 Yosemite.  All my editing is with raw images.  PSE Raw works with my Fuji x-t1 but I now have an additional Fuji x100t and cannot edit my raw files from this camera.  What is the best thing to do?   Any help would be much appreciated.

Your Elements is too old.  The X100T was first supported in the ACR 8.7 plug-in which requires PSE13 or newer.
The more time-consuming but otherwise free choice would be to use the DNG Converter 8.7 or newer to make DNGs from your X100T raw files and then those DNGs will open in the older ACR plug-in used by Elements 12.
The DNG Converter is available on the Adobe Updates page:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
The more direct solution would be to pay for an upgrade to PSE13 and update it to ACR 8.7.1 or even buy the Lightroom+Photoshop-CC Photography Plan for $10/month.  There may be newer minimum OS versions for ACR 8.7, PSE13 and PS-CC so running a trial before paying would be a wise course of action.  The newest DNG Converters also have a newer minimum OS version so if that is the problem you’d have to update your OS for any of the solutions to work.

  • PSE 8 compatibility with Adobe Bridge CS 5 Camera Raw

I have Photoshop Elements 8 installed with Camera Raw 5.5 on a Windows 7 64-bit platform.  I recently purchased Photoshop CS 5 which came with Camera Raw 6.2.  I think both products work well independently, with the exception noted at the end of this posting.  Where I'm encountering an issue is when I use Adobe Bridge to access an image file for processing which invokes Camera Raw 6.2. -- the changes made to the file show up in Adobe Bridge, but are not observable when the same file is viewed in the Photoshop Elements Organizer.  When I look at the file properties I can see that Camera Raw 6.2 updated the file and the updated date does appear in the file properties accessible through PS Elements Organizer.  However, the items listed in the Camera Raw metadata are different in the two products (PS vs PSE).  Since the sidecar .xmp files are a form of XML, I'm wondering if Camera Raw 6.2 is writing data in a structure that is not supported by Camera Raw 5.5?  I've tried to update PSE Camera Raw to version 6.2 following the instruction that appear on line, but it does not seem to install.  Durring installation there are no error messages, but after the "installation" PSE Camera Raw still shows version 5.5.  I noticed this first when editing a large number of "legacy" .jpg files, but I also have concern when editing Nikon .nef files.
It's a bit hard to tell, but when editing .nef files in Camera Raw 6.2 the changes may migrate to PSE once I tell PSE to update the thumbnail view.  But what I observed was a very distinct differece in file's visual appeared when viewed in Adobe Bride CS5 vs PSE 8 Organizer.  The PSE 8 images had greater color saturation.  This leaves me wondering what's going on.

On my Windows 7 64 bit system the original version of Camera Raw.8bi was found in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements8\File Formats\ and had a size of 11,781 Kb shown in Windows Explorer.  The file properties listed the size as (12,063,088 bytes).  The digital signature was signed Thursday, September 03, 2009 3:34:37 PM.  To the best of my knowledge this is the version that shipped on the PSE 8 disk which I installed in December 2009.
There is another copy  of Camera Raw.8bi found in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS5\File Formats\ and had a size of 11,856 Kb shown in Windows Explorer.  The file properties list the size as (12,140,496 bytes).  The digital signature was signed Friday, August 20, 2010 3:30:03 AM.  This date post dates the installation of Photoshop CS 5 on my system so it must have happened through some (automatic?) update.
The Camera Raw.8bi file that I've down loaded from Adobe for ACR 6.2 is the same size and has the same signing date as the one identified immediately above in the CS5\File Formats\ sub folder.
When I copy the down loaded file into the Elements8\File Formats\ sub folder PSE still indicates that ACR is version 5.5
I also have a copy of ACR in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS5\File Formats\ with a length of 14,526 KB shown in Windows Explorer.  The file properties list the size as (14,874,576 bytes) and the signing date as Friday, August 20, 2010 10:39:07 AM.  I presume this to be the copy of ACR used by Adobe Bridge and Photoshop which I installed as a 64-bit application.  Since the signing date (but not the time) is the same as the date for the file in CS5\File Formats\ I'm guessing that it is also the result of an automatic update to version 6.2.
Something that's not making sense to me is that the down load was approximately 50 MB and I'm messing around manually moving a 12 MB file into a specific sub folder.

  • LR cannot see PSE DNG or TIFFS

I have made a panorama in PSE 9 from TIFFS from LR 3.2. I converted the pano to TIFF. LR cannot see the TIFF to imoprt. Tried converting to DNG. LR cannot see the DNG!!! It can see LR created TIFFs and DNG, but not PSE. Is PSE not compatable with LR? Is there a special step, trick, or dance I must do to import a PSE created file into LR?

If you choose "Edit in PSE" from LR with several images selected, LR builds TIFFs (or PSDs), adds them to the catalog and then calls PSE with those TIFFs (or PSDs).
If you then create a Panorama in PSE with these images, you build a new image, and save it under a different name than anything LR knows of so far. Because of this, after saving the Pano-TIFF in PSE, you have to import the Panorama in LR to add it to your catalog if you want it there. This is a bit annoying (but understandable), as you have to apply keywords etc. to the Panorama seperately if you want any.

  • Unable to use editor PSE 7

I have PSE 7 and Windows Vista.  Whenever I try to use the PSE editor I receive the following error message: "Adobe Photoshop Elements (Editor) has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you is a solution is available."  I have never received notification of a solution.  Does PSE have compatibility issues with PSE 7?  Is there a fix for this problem?

    Hi,
Please follow the steps below and let me know if that helps!
    1.
         - Close Elements.. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as soon as you click Editor.
         - Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Editor will open with default preferences.
If the abvove does not work, try the following:
    2.   Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
If this does not work too, try this:
    3. In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
    OR
    4. Try launching directly from the exe.
Please let me know of any of these resolve your issue.
    regards,
    vaishali

  • Why is this so long to recognize a new RAW format?

    Hi,
I'm new to Mac and to Aperture. I use it with Dimage A1. It's great!
But I am disappointed because I also use Pentax K10D which is not recognized by Aperture.
I notice that it needed much time to import *ist RAW format. Is this so difficult to integrate new RAW?
Does Apple consider others than Canon/Nikon as minor?
    Thanks
Macbook Pro 2GHz Intel core duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Pentax K10D - Minolta Dimage A1

I remember waiting 4 months to get Aperture because the (hugely successful) Nikon D200 took nearly 6 months before being recognized by Aperture.
At the time I though it was a "ramping up" problem and would stay isolated.
Time has proven my optimism was mistaken, on that particular point.
don't get me wrong: Aperture has changed my life as a digital Photographer... a story I often tell and demonstrate. However, releasing camera coompatibility updates few and far between is a massive strategic mistake... of a magnitude Apple never makes with hardware, iPod, retail etc....
So I guess there is a clearly visible dichotomy at work here:
    - on the one hand Apple wants to be a player in the creative pro apps market.
    - on the other hand the haphazardness of their SW update release schedule speaks volumes (and not just AP: look at the Logic Pro udpate calendar: nothing for how many years now???)...
Digital photography is at a major turning point now... the years 2006-2009 will see more new "serious" cameras released than the ten years before.. and probably the ten years after. Not being reactive during that time is surprising.
    $
I don't know what is holding up the AP team on the Pentax, Leica (and now fuji) compatibility, but it's hurting them a lot now... and blaming it on the Leopard schedule, for good reasons or bad, is a tragedy in terms of pro photographers perception...
I hope Aperture will not turn out to be for the enthusiast once the pros have left the building... I'd hate to witness that happening.

  • Windows 7 Elements 1.0 has brush dynamic Stylus option greyed out

I use photoshop elements 1.0 on a windows 7 laptop with a wacom CTE-430. When I check brush dynamics, the Stylus option is greyed out so I cannot use pressure sensitivity to adjust the brush size. The option works fine on my desktop with Windows XP, so I can't figure out what I need to do to fix it.

Well, I"m sure that Adobe would say that PSE-1 (?) is incompatible with Windows 7, but what do they know?
I would hit Wacom's site to see if they have an updated driver for your tablet, compatible with Windows 7.
You can also investigate running PSE in compatibility mode for XP SP-2.

  • How can I get PSE 10 to import RAW photos from my Fuji x-m1 camera?

I have Fuji X-M1. PSE 10 will not import RAW files from it. Is there an update or file that I can download so that it will do this

The Fuji X-M1 requires Camera Raw 8.2 or later which is only compatible with Elements 12 or later
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
Camera Raw 8.2 is not compatible with Elements 10 so you cannot open Raw files from that camera with Elements 10.
You can either upgrade to Elements 12 or download the free Adobe DNG Converter, convert all Fuji X-M1 Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in Elements 10.

  • PSE 4.0 Compatibility with CS3?

    Simple question from a newbie. . .
Are .psd files from CS3 downward comaptible with PSE 4.0?

You might want to insure that the PSD files saved in CS3 are saved with "Maximize PSD file Compatibility" turned on in the preferences. I'd think you'd want that particular preference turned on to be on the safe side. Hopefully, Barbara or someone who knows for sure will have something to say about whether that particular preference needs to be on.

  • Does PSE 12 camera raw support my Fuji X-T1 camera?

I get the following error message when trying to view a camera raw file from my Fuji X-T1 in PSE 12:
"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of camera raw." The installed version of camera raw on my PSE 12 is 8.0.
I am, however, able to view my Fuji X-T1 camera raw files in Lightroom CC (ver 5.4). Is that because the current version of Lightroom has an updated version of camera raw, which my PSE does not? Can I get Version 8.4 Camera Raw for PSE 12?

  • HT1338 My fuji x100s has RAW file compatibility issue with OS 10.8.2

My fuji x100s has RAW file compatibility issue with OS 10.8.2, my iphoto11 cannot recognise the file format.  Anyone know of this issue too? Appreciate if anyone can offer some helps.  Thanks

Correct.  The Fuji X-100s is not currently supported by iPhoto or Aperture (or the RAW converter in OS X itself).  You can submit feedback via iPhoto and request this.

  • Compatibility PSE v2 and Win 7?

I plan to buy a new computer with Win 7. Will my trusted Photoshop Elements version 2 continue to work?

Sorry, I wasn't precise in my terminology (necessary when dealing with Microsoft!).
Windows 7 provides two different facilities for compatibility:
    1. Windows XP Mode runs an XP virtual machine inside Windows 7:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/features/windows-xp-mode.aspx
It requires WIndows 7 Pro or Ultimate.
    2. As with Vista, you can set compatibility options for an individual program by right-clicking its icon or Start menu item, selecting Properties, and then the Compatibility tab.  This option comes with every version of Windows 7:

  • HT4757 Fuji X Pro 1 Raw compatibility, Is aperture working on a fix for this??

I just got the new Fuji X-pro 1 a month ago and am waiting for a patch so I can use camera raw...Is anyone else out there in the same situation? Have I missed something??

I found this in an older post, although I didn't hear anything from support.
+I have heard from tech support from Apple. This is a defect in iTunes. There is nothing you (we) can do to fix it. We will have to wait for iTunes to release a fix. In the meantime, to get a refund, when you get your invoice from Apple for the rental, simply click on the "report a problem" link in the email and follow all instructions. Your money will be refunded. FYI this problem is occurring on Mac as well as Windows.+
*If this is true I really hope this issue is fixed before the release of iTunes 7.7!*

  • PSE 8 and high res compatibility with W7

I have just upgraded from PSE 5 to 8.  I am running on a laptop with W7 and 1920 x 1200 res screen.  In order to make menus and text legible, the system is set at 150% in Control Panel.  This seems to work fine with Office applications and other programmes.  Unfortunately, although the Organiser page is ok too, the Editor and Quick Editor page menus are scaled right down.  The menus and icons are so small it is difficult to navigate and wierdly the curser appears as three identical images in certain features.  I have tried reducing the 150 to 125% but then the Organiser is affected and there is little improvement in Editor except that the curser shows normally.  I had experienced the same problem in PSE5 but thought it was a W7 thing and that the upgrade would sort it out.  Feeling poorer and no further forward.  Any help would be much appretiated.

    I had the same problem.
I changed the size to custom and went up to 145% and the cursors are still ok.
Someone on the forum said it is a bug and the cursors won't work correctly at 150%

  • Fuji x100 RAW compatibility?

I read on the Aperture 3 support page that it supports Fuji x100 RAW photos.  But when I just imported some, while it showed thumbnails during the import process, when the images themselves were imported, each and every one showed as a black box saying "unsupported format."
    Any advice?
    Thanks
