PSE 7 slideshow view New

In PSE7 When I create and then view a slide show in full screen preview it will not refocus/resize as it does in the organizer when you go to full screen preview. When I tried to burn to CD it was also not in focus. Am I missing a step?

--What is the resolution of you monitor?
--What resolution choice did you specify when you made the WMV file?
(The WMV file should at least be better than the VCD even if it is not as good as you want - that is unless you chose a low res option when making the WMV.)
--Confirm that you are playing the WMV file with Windows Media Player?
--What Slide Size did you choose for the PDF file?
--Post some computer specs - like processor speed and if it is a dual or quad core, RAM, video card and hard disc configuration. Knowing the capacity of your computer will make a difference for playing back video if you have a high resolution monitor. Note that the PDF file is not a video, so most probably it will require less computer resource to play back at a higher resolution.
I know that you want to go Full Screen, but for the purpose of troubleshooting please do answer this question

Cannot view News folder in the Production

Hello,
We are using 3 portals. One is Development, Quality and Production. In the Quality and Production on the home page we view New News with jpgs on the home page but with the same settings we cannot view in the Development Home page. Can anyone tell his solution.

Something else that may be happening here...
The /etc repository is a file system repository. Is it possible that you've got the read-only flag set at the OS level?
You can find the /etc repository (in NW04) at:
<DRIVE>:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\config\cm\etc

Cannot able to view new activities in CONS

Hi,
We successfully deployed new DC into our portal system. Then our dev team did some changes and then created new activity and released in NWDS.
New changes went through default development runtime system.
But I cannot able to view new activities under CONS system, it was showing empty queue. Can any one please help me to fix this issue?

Hi Srinivas,
If you are sure the activity was successfully released from NWDS, try to check in the import history of cons. May be the released activity got imported already.

Cannot view new files on networked mac

Hi all, I posted this last year but I think it was in the wrong section.....here goes again..
I have 2 macs linked via an ethernet cable (g4/400 g4/1.2dual).
The 400 is on 10.3.9 and the 1.25 is on 10.4.11
When I do the "Connect to Server" thing from g4/400, I can see g4/1.2's desktop folder with all the files that are on that desktop.
If g4/1.2 adds a file to that desktop I can't see it from g4/400 unless I disconnect and re-connect.
It's the same for any folder not just the Desktop folder.
Is there any way to "refresh" the view?
It's really inconvenient, but I'm sure it used to work ok. It does however work fine the other way round viewing new files on the 400 from the 1.25.
Any ideas??

Open System Preferences/Sharing and make sure you have both Personal File Sharing and Windows Sharing turned on the G4/400.

Problem With PSE-2 and New 1.5 TB Drive

Hi all. First of all, I've been using my registered PSE-2 for several years with no problem. AMD Athalon 7750 dual core at 2.7 Ghz, 2.0 G Memory. WD 1.5 TB primary and WD 500 GB secondary drive.Win XP SP3. I recently had a drive fail and installed a new freshly formatted WD 1.5 TB as my boot drive. Fresh install of WinXP and updates. Now when I install Elements, it appears to install fine. The problem comes when I attempt to start it the first time I get "Could not initialize Photoshop Elements because the scratch discs are full". Then Elements closes, thus not allowing me to do anything with the internal configuration of the program. I have tried unistalling and installing to the 500 GB drive, but still get the same error. I have increased my page file memory Does anyone know of a problem with installing Elements on a large drive or can anyone offer a possible solution to what I am seeing? I think Barbara meant photoshop 7, which was out a little before pse2.
If you hold down the Alt+Ctrl keys just after you start pse2, a dialog
should appear allowing you to choose the scratch disk (keep holding
the keys until the dialog appears)
If you have a recovery partition on your hard drive, try choosing this for
the scratch disk and then exit pse2. Then restart pse2 and from
Preferences>Plug-ins and Scratch Disks choose your regular hard drive for the scratch disk.
Newer versions of pse, at least newer than 3 or 4 don't seem to have this problem.

I see you are running v10.4.11 and you have updated Safari but make certain all the system software is up to date by clicking your Apple menu / Software Update.
If everything is up to date, try resetting Safari from the menu bar.
Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.
Restart your Mac. Launch Safari. Try several of the sites you mentioned.

If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

USB Pointer problems with Preview slideshow view

I often give talks for which my slides are in PDF format (typically produced using LaTeX). Under Mountain Lion I could open the relevant PDF in Preview Slideshow View and click between slides using a Logitech pointer (Model R-RB5). Since updating to Mavericks, however, the pointer will no longer advance slides. It seems to work as expected to move between pages if Preview is not full-screen, or if it's in full-screen mode, just not in slideshow mode (and full-screen mode isn't ideal for giving talks). All seems to be fine in Adobe Reader, but I prefer Preview for one or two reasons, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

My biggest problem in preview 4.0 is it freezes while trying to view large images across four apple LCD's. Sometimes I see a gray screen.

How to get Iphoto out of slideshow view and into edit, by default

Iphoto recently began showing all my albums in slideshow view rather than its customary edit view. I can switch to edit by clicking on the edit icon or just clicking a photo but I want to view and work in edit mode. It just won't show me any albums/folders in edit mode. I posted this once but it has vanished. Any help out there?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Go into iPhoto's Preferences and under the Events section set the Double-click Event: menu to Magnify. See if that's what you want.
The edit mode is only entered when you double click on a photo's thumbnail.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

You must install it from your original installation media. You can't move an installed copy of PSE--it's too complicated of a program, with bits and bobs all over your hard drive. If you bought PSE as a download and it's a version less than three years old, you can go to the main page of adobe.com and look for My Adobe and there may a be a download link your store account.

Saving as a PDF file for some users have been a problem. If you boot into Safe Mode and run iPhoto you can create undamaged PDF files. We don't know why the problem but this is a workaround.
This problem prevents many from ordering books, calendars and cards since iPhoto creates PDF file of them for uploading and printing. Booting into Safe Mode lets them successfully order those items.

Hyperlinks bump me out of Slideshow View

Hi.
I have a Keynote presentation that has links to another Keynote presentation. When I click the link in Slideshow view, the other presentation opens but I get bumped out of Slideshow view. How do I keep this from happening?
And once I have the linked presentation open, how do I smoothly go back to my original presentation?

Slideshow Viewer with music - Flex example code??

Hello.
I am not a Flex programmer at this time. I have only started looking at it because a client of mine wants a slideshow viewer that fades between images and plays music on her website. The site is done with simple PHP. Can someone point me in the right direction? I have no problem learning Flex but I need this asap.

There's no point in reinventing the wheel for that solution...
This is a free flash-based slideshow app that will solve your problem quick, and if you dont like that one, try google'ing Flash-based slidewhow...

Flex would probably do what you want, but you would be a ways off from deployment, and learning it to solve this problem seems like overkill.

PSE 2/PSA 2 conversion to PSE 5 on new PC

I Just purchased and installed a new PC running MS Windows XP Media Edition. I am in the process of converting applications and data/picture files from my old MS Windows XP Home Edition to the new PC. Both Windows XP operating systems are up to date.
The old PC has PSE 2.0 and PSA 2.0.1 which manages just under 2,000 cataloged and tagged photos. I have not installed PSE or PSA on the new machine. Both PCs have a single hard drive c:.
I just purchased PSE 5, but have not installed it on either PC. What would be the best way to convert and copy My_Catalog with all the photos to PSE 5 on my new PC?
a) On old PC, Backup My_Catalog to CDs (or flash drive) with PSA 2;
Install PSE 5 on the new PC and restore to c: on new PC
b) Install PSE 5 on old PC and convert My_Catalog to new Organizer
(however that might be done);
Backup catalog and photos on old PC with PSE 5 to CDs (or flash drive)
Install PSE 5 on new PC and restore My_Catalog
c) Some other method?
I searched your Tips, Tools, How-to, and Techniques forum and did not find anything too definitive. I would sincerely appreciate guidance on this conversion before I start.

As no one has posted to this entry, I am thinking about doing the following to convert to PSE 5 and moving to a new PC.
On my old PC:
1. With PSA Ver 2, File/Reconnect_All_Missing_Files
2. With PSA Ver 2, File/Catalog/Recover
3. With PSA Ver 2, File/Backup the catalog and burn CDs
4. Install PSE Ver 5. Hopefully, this will convert the PSA 2 catalog to PSE 5 format.

I believe you need to go into System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement so the image you want appears on the projector.

Viewing news and you tube videos freezing or pausing

I have had my Macbook Pro for almost 3 months. Latest model. I thought it was suppose to be the best so why when I view news videos, you-tube or any other video, they will slowly load, start then pause with spinning beach ball then resume, then pause again? I have 4 GB of memory and processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5. What do I need to do to remedy this problem? Thanks for any help.

And what speeds are you paying for? If you're paying for more speed than you're getting, I'd be hollering about it if I were you.
I'm paying for 16 Mb/s, and I believe I will be talking with my ISP on Monday.
