PSE - Mac Camera Raw 6 installed- but 5.5 comes up

I have a Mac and PSE 8.  I installed camera raw 6 in the proper place - but when I open a NEF file the camera raw version showing is 5.5.
Has anyone gotten ACR 6 to work on a Mac with PSE 8?

You are talking about PSE and not bridge, right?
How did you install it? It sounds like you failed to remove the old plugin first. You must use the PSE version of the plug-in (not the auto-installing PS version) and despite the instructions, you have to move the old version out of the folder before putting the new one in.
Yes, 6.1 does work, so that's not the problem.

I can't open RAW files from new Sony Alpha a6000 camera in PSE 11 camera raw editor. Is there an update that will allow me to do this or do I need to always use DNG convertor?

You would need to update to PSE 12, or just keep using the DNG converter. Your camera requires ACR 8.4, which isn't compatible with PSE 11. It's also not compatible with PSE 12 if you are running Vista or XP.

I have PS5 and need to get a camera raw update but when I try it says serial # not valid, which of course it is a valid #.
Does Adobe not allow me to upgrade raw on older software?

Take a look at this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
In the list of HP printers, it appears that your printer is supported as an airprint printer.

  • PSE 9.0 Mac Camera Raw

For whatever reason the new camera raw update fails to update.  I'm not sure of the reason.  Is it possible to grab the plug-in and find the appropriate place/directory to move it to.
If so, can someone tell me where on my Mac to place it?  I've used the standard installation for PSE 9.0.  Also where can I grab the plug in from?

    Okay, get it here:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=40&platform=Macintosh
Under PSE 8, but the installation path is different now. It needs to go into your hard drive>library>application support>adobe>Plug-ins>Elements 9>File Formats, and be sure to move the existing plug-in out first.
Note that this is the library at the top level of your hard drive, not system>library or your username>library.

  • Mac camera raw 6.5

i am confused.  i have elements 10 and would like to load camera raw (mac). i tried loading but only something with patch files and flash player, help loaded.  what do i need to do/  thank you so much.  jw

Probably the easiest thing to do is install the 6.7 dng converter.
(that installs the profiles needed by the camera raw 6.7 plugin)
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5374
Then replace the existing camera raw plugin with the 6.7 camera raw from out of the zipped file below
    https://workspaces.acrobat.com/?d=3UNFxO-n28Ad4F4awPwD4w
    steps
    1. Install the 6.7 dng converter
    2. download and unzip the
      Camera Raw 6_7 plugin.zip
        (double click on it)
    3. Go to Computer>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/Elements 10/File Formats
    4. Drag the existing Camera Raw.plugin to the trash
    5. Drag the Camera Raw.plugin from the zipped download into that folder
Hopefully, then you'll be able to go to File>Open and choose one of your sony camera raw files and they will open in the camera raw dialog in pse 10

  • PSE 6  - Camera Raw 4.3.1 update.

Each time I run the update checker it downloads Camera Raw 4.3.1 plug in but each time I try to instal the update I get a message "Photoshop Elements File Agent.exe needs closing". I am not aware that any Photoshop programme is open when this message appears. It seems that I have the latest plugin (13.11.07) installed in Elements. Can anyone explain this.
    Many thanks.

    Good day,
Unfortunately I've not had the same success with Camera Raw 4.3.1 for Windows and I'm wondering if there may be another detail that needs attention. As instructed by both the website and the PDF file I relocated the existing camera raw file from the path indicated, downloaded the zipped release, unzipped the contents, and placed the new camera raw file as indicated. C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats\Camera Raw.8bi
    Unzipped it is 10202KB.
All this was accomplished with PSE6.0 closed down. Upon startup I attempted to load a set of RAW files from my Canon 40D. Unfortunately I get a message indicating "No Valid Files Found". The CF on the Camera contains about 120 RAW images. Just to be sure, these are RAW not sRAW. No JPEG was captured, so I just shot two more images with both RAW and JPEG but only the JPEG's were then accepted for loading into PSE 6.0.
The Firmware version is 1.0.4 and I'm using Windows Vista.
Ideas? Are there permissions issues possibly? Well I became administrator, opened up the permissions for the users and administrator, and 'UNBLOCKED' the file. Restarted PSE6.0.
    Still no luck.
If you have a suggestion I'm all ears. Thanks,
    Marty

  • PSE 8 Camera Raw issues

I have Photoshop Elements 8 and I just recently started shooting in RAW, but when I try to download the files in Bridge (I have a Mac), the thumbnails don't show up.  I went ahead and tried to download the files, even though I couldn't see what they were, but they just showed up as blank white files and Camera Raw won't open.  I just did the update for Camera Raw 6.2 and restarted Bridge and PSE.  Is there another update I am unaware of, or is there another suggestion I should try?  I also read online to clear the cache, which I did, but nothing happened.

According to the Readme files for Camera Raw, ACR 6.6 is the last version that is compatible with Photoshop Elements 8.  What camera are you using?  You should check the compatibility list for ACR 6.6 to ensure that your camera is supported in that version.  If it isn't then you can download the latest DNG converter, 7.1, and convert your files to DNG.  Then you should be able to open those with your version of Photoshop Elements.

  • PSE & and Camera Raw 5.5 problem

I shoot a Canon 5D Mark ii in Canon Raw.  I have Windows Vista operating system, I have PhotoShop Elements 7.0 (all updates installed).
I can't get PSE 7 to open my Raw files.  I downloaded and installed the plug http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407344.html for Windows.
Am I trying to what can't be done?  Is PSE incapable of reading canon raw files?
    Thanks

I pasted the unzipped file in computer>Adobe>Photoshop Elements 7.0>Photoshop elements
I unzipped the files and ran them according to the instructions.  The plug opened up PSE during the installation. (if that matters?)
That isn't clear. The following instructions on the download page have to be followed precisely or the plug-in won't work.
Extract the Camera Raw.8bi file from the ZIP file you downloaded. (Extract only the Camera Raw.8bi file that is at the top level of the ZIP file. Do not extract the Camera Raw.8bi file from the Win64 folder that is inside the ZIP file. This folder contains the 64-bit edition of the Camera Raw plug-in, which is compatible only with the 64-bit edition of Photoshop CS4.)
    Do one of the following:
If you are using a 32-bit edition of Windows, then move Camera Raw.8bi into C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats. If you are prompted to overwrite the existing plug-in file, then click Yes or Overwrite.
If you are using a 64-bit edition of Windows, then move Camera Raw.8bi into C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats. If you are prompted to overwrite the existing plug-in file, then click Yes or Overwrite

  • Does PSE 12 camera raw support my Fuji X-T1 camera?

I get the following error message when trying to view a camera raw file from my Fuji X-T1 in PSE 12:
"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of camera raw." The installed version of camera raw on my PSE 12 is 8.0.
I am, however, able to view my Fuji X-T1 camera raw files in Lightroom CC (ver 5.4). Is that because the current version of Lightroom has an updated version of camera raw, which my PSE does not? Can I get Version 8.4 Camera Raw for PSE 12?

From Expert Mode click the menu:
    Help >> Updates
Install the camera raw 8.4 update

  • Error opening images in PSE from Camera RAW

After opening RAW images in Camera Raw and clicking 'Open images' I often receive an error "Could not process request due to program error." On a second, third try I am usually able to open the images.
Raw images are from Nikon D5100, Camera RAW version 8.3,
    Adobe Photoshop Elements Version: 12.0 (12.0 (20130925.r.43436)) x32
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit

I think others have reported that the size limits that apply to PSE 5 and 6:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402760.html
also affected their PSE 7 and 8.  If those limits don't apply, it would be good to know authoritatively.

  • PSE 8 - Camera Raw plug-in no longer loading

Hopefully someone has run into a similar problem and help set me straight.  The way I've usually been processing my RAW files (.CR2 from a 60D) is by opening them in the organizer (adding to the organizer, highlighting, then right clicking and clicking "edit with Photoshop Elements").  Usually this loads into the Camera Raw viewer, allowing me to do quick edits of White Balance, exposure, etc.  Today I tried to do this as I always do and instead of launching the Camera Raw viewer, it has been simply opening PSE 8 and opening each picture into sub-windows.  Not fun when I'm doing 50+ pics at a time.
Any help is appreciated!  I'm wondering if some setting was changed that is telling it to just open the files as regular instead of RAW files.

Have you changed your screen resolution?
What happens if you load the camera raw file using the elements editor; File>Open?
