PSE9 & thumbnail order in organizer

Sometime during the last week I allowed PSE9 to update.  After the update I noticed that new files added to the organizer are list according to their extension first and then by the file name.  All of the files that were added prior to this are arranged by file name and then extension which makes much more sense.  Is there a way (without reinstalling PSE9 which is a copout imo) to set the way thumbnails are organized?  My preference looks like this:
img_0001.jpg
img_0001.cr2
img_0002.jpg
img_0002.cr2
It is currently showing up as this:
img_0001.jpg
img_0002.jpg
img_0001.cr2
img_0002.cr2
When you are uploading a couple hundred files at a time this doesn't seem to make sense.  Please help!!!

The date appears to be correct in both.  The time taken is different.  The CR2 is appearing as 5 hours earlier than the jpg.  After reading your comment I searched the threads and saw that several people were linking the issue to the use of the backup/sync feature.  I had never used that feature, but last week I decided to see what it was about.  It started to do the sync, but I knew I wouldn't have enough space online and cancelled it.  I don't know if that has any effect on this or not.

  • Premiere pro thumbnail order

Hallo!

  • CAN'T SWITCH TO THUMBNAIL VIEW IN ORGANIZE AN ALBUM

Just loaded Tiger on my Titanium and it did not come with
iLife or iPhoto 5, so I'm stuck with iPhoto 2 for a while...
One thing I noticed after moving from Panther to Tiger is when
I chose Organize for an Album, the pics are no longer thumbnails and each pic is big making moving them around and
rearranging the order rather difficult as I have to use the scroll bar to get to the one I want to move and then drag it
up or down... The thumbnail view was so handy, How can I toggle back to the thumbnailview in Organize... I've tried
everything I can think of with no luck.... HELP???

THANK YEW!!! God bless this forum and all you helpful MAC freaks!!!

  • Every file that I import has an hourglass rather than a thumbnail photo in Organizer.

Please help! All of a sudden all I get are hourglasses in Organizer. No thumbnaul photos. When I click on the hourglass the photo then appears as a large image. I clicked on update thumbnail but it did not seem to work. Thanks

Good response from Adobe saves the day. I followed the second part of this, creating another catalogue and importing. A tad difficult as PSE9 would not back up my latest images from the old catalogue. This is what Tech Support sent me
please follow these steps to resolve your issue:
->Start PSE to get to the Welcome screen.
->Open Organizer and click on File-> Catalog
->Select your catalog and click Repair.
->Select “repair anyway” even if PSE doesn’t find problems.
->Then for good measure, click Optimize.
If repairing resolves your issue then fine else repeat the above steps, but click New to create a new catalog. If you’re able to import photos into the new catalog and the Organizer works fine, then problem can be old catalog.
In that case you can try regenerating the thumbnails. Do Show All, Edit > Select All, and then Edit > Update Thumbnail.
Thanks for your help Howard, much appreciated.

  • How to display video thumbnails in Elements Organizer 8?

I have a basic problem with Elements Organizer 8 and I'm really hoping someone can help me...
I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate on an Alienware Dimension AURORA_ALX (i7 975 @ 3.33Ghz) with 9Gb RAM.  I've installed Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 8.  I've then transferred video clips from my Sony HDR-SR12E and now want to manage them effectively using Premiere Elements 8.  The problem I'm having is that Elements Organizer 8 isn't showing any thumbnails for the video clips I've imported (I don't have the same problem with photo files - the thumbnails for these display correctly).  Windows 7 has no difficulty with showing the thumbnails when I open the folder containing the video clips, so this appears to be an issue with the Adobe software I'm using.
I've looked through the manual and other online resources - no joy.
I've attached a file (Capture.jpg) that hopefully illustrates my problem.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi guys
I have to confess that I'm completely new to Premiere Elements.
Thank you very much for your technical input everyone - this is much appreciated.
Barb__O, I tried to follow your suggestion, and I'm pretty sure I got the steps right, but I still didn't have any luck.  Perhaps I went wrong somewhere?
Also, based on the decent hardware specs I listed above, should I be expecting my computer to chomp through the auto-analyse stage?  I know it's AVCHD footage but the process still seems to take forever.

  • Is there an easy way to make mp4 (gopro)thumbnails visible in Organizer?

    Hi,
I see different post about Organizer not being able to generate thumpnails from gopro-files. But they are all quit technical... So is there (going to be) an easy solution to make these files visible in adobe Organizer? Or which programm would be a good alternative for Organizer (wich I only use for video)?
    Thanks for any advice.

A few things that we can do to see if they have any impact on Elements Organizer 12 behavior.
    1. If you have not already, update the Premiere Elements 12 as well as Elements Organizer 12 to 12.1, using
Help Menu/Update. When the Update is completed, there should be the 12.1 notation at the beginning of the
Help Menu/About Adobe Premiere Elements and Help Menu/About Elements Organizer.
    2. The Elements Organizer. You can create a new catalog (that does not mean get rid of the old, just create a new one
and designate the new one as the Current catalog. See Elements Organizer 12 File Menu/Manage Catalogs/Catalog Manager).
Also, the shortcut for deleting the Elements Organizer settings file (psa.prf) is as follows....
    a. In the Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace, hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys of the computer main keyboard as you click/hold
click on the Organizer tab at the bottom of that Expert workspace. Hold the click for about 10 seconds. Then release that click (still
holding down on Ctrl+Alt+Shift). You should see a pop up requesting permission to delete the settings file (psa.prf). Click Yes. If any problems
getting the shortcut to work, use the longer way....
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Elements Organizer
    12.0
    Organizer
and in the Organizer Folder is the psa.prf (settings file) that you can disable or delete. To disable, change the name from psa.prf
to psa.prfOLD. Best to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete
    path cited.
    3. Background Information. Even though you are having problems with the file's thumbnails in the Elements Organizer
    a. Can you play back the file there?
    b. Can you import the file (as source media) into the Premiere Elements Expert workspace from the Elements Organizer workspace?
    Please review and consider.
    Thank you.

  • Why is PS 6 showing hourglass/egg timer rather than thumbnails in the organizer?

I have uploaded some pictures using Photoshop Elements 6 and they usually show up as thumbnails.  They are showing as an hourglass/egg timer instead.  All previously uploaded pictures are still showing as thumbnails.  How do I correct this problem?  BTW - in the lower left hand corner of the organizer - it does not say "generating" thumbnails.  I have also tried right clicking the thumbnail, then update thumbnail, but this does not work.  I can, however, view the pictures is full screen mode.

  • No AVCHD thumbnails in Elements Organize

    Hi,
Can anyone help me here as I cannot see any thumbnails relating to AVCHD files in Organize ( Version 8 ) yet I can see them, once I manually update them, in Premier Elements 8. They are all just blank purple.
I can see all my other non-AVCHD files as thumbnails e.g. AVI
I am guessing there is a codec issue here but the the thumbnails are visible to the OS itself in explorer and other video related software e.g. Sony Picture Motion Browser.
I am running a new install of Windows 7 64 bit
Has anyone else experienced this or has any ideas ?
    Thanks
    Paul

In your Folder Options under View, do you have Always show icons, never thumbnails checked?
What is the other file type that does seem to have a thumbnail?
Is that in the File>Open dialog in the photoshop elements 12 editor?

  • Problem with thumbnail icon in Organizer

Running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit OS, installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 running organizer.  Brand new installation, no previous versions installed.
I installed Elements last week and I'm trying to access my digital photos and some video clips using organizer.  I used the import from files and folders to display the media files within organizer.  The media files sit on a NAS (network attached storage) on drive X:.  Throughtout the entire process, all I seem to see are hourglass icons and after finishing the import, continue to see same hourglass icon.  I've tried to use the update thumbnail option to no avail.  When I double click on the icons, I am able to see the photos/video clips with no problems.

    Hi Venkat,
    Have you seen this
blog post from Brian? Unfortunately, it seems to be by design and not fixable. Pay attention to the comments and particularly the one from Brian on 23 dec 2014:
"The document link problem will not be fixed. In SharePoint 2013 there are not the event receivers for documents that allow us to track the coming and going of documents."
Talking about PS2013 SP1, it fixes bugs related to icons but not this one. See this
    blog for reference.
    Hope this helps,

  • Changing order in Organizer albums

    Can anyone help me please?
I have just installed Photoshop Elements 10 on my Mac. Having created an album I find that the Media Browser Arrangement dropdown menu will allow only oldest or newest first, with no custom option. Is this normal? If so, how do I rearrange the picture order other than by date?
    Many thanks.
    Neil

When you select an album choose Album Order from the dropdown. The thumbnails then get numbered. You can drag them into any order of your choice and they remain fixed.

  • Contact sheets, changing thumbnail order.

Using PSE4 with Windows XP, is it possible to change the order in which thumbnail images appear on contact sheets?
Producing the sheet is simple enough, but the order of images appears to be totally tied to the camera allocated file numbers. Placing A,B,C etc in front of selected image file numbers does not produce an order change and I cannot think of another approach.
    Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Tony,
Have you tried making a PSE
    b Collection
of the photos you want to print on the Contact Sheet. Then drag and drop within the Collection to establish the order that you wish and inititiate the printing of the Contact Sheet using the Collection.
For most Organinzer processes this will use the order of the photos in the Collection, but I don't think I have tried it specifically for a Contact Sheet.

  • Thumbnail Order in Premiere Pro CC 2014

I thought I saw that my thumbnails remained in chronological order in Premiere Pro CC 2014, but on second inspection, they're all randomly mixed up, as in previous versions. Does anyone know if there's a way to specify chronological order in thumbnial (icon) view? It drives me mad!
    Thanks,

    Hi OstiaAlex,
Click on the icon pictured to see the Sort Icons menu. Does that work for you?
    Thanks,

  • How do I change the subject of an inbox and outbox in order to organize them better

I would like to change the Subject of received and sent mails in Thunderbird. I used to be able to do this with Eudora and it helped me to organize them better especially when the subject and content didn't match!

They are designed for Thunderbird not Firefox.
Current version of Thunderbird is 31.5.0 and they work with that version.
Are you using a Thunderbird beta version?
