Public Page Parameter does not get value

I use the following API call to create a URL that will raise an event and send the “facilityId” parameter to the Public Page parameter of a destination page.

When I click on the link I am taken to the destination page and the following URL shows up in the address bar of the browser:

Issue 1: The Public Page parameter of the destination page does not receive the value of facilityId, Why?
Issue 2: Why is the URL in the address bar truncated after "PORTAL"?
Any ideas?

facilityId, Why?The event link sends an event (FacilityInfoPage) to the page with the given parameters if any. In the page's edit tab you can link the event to a page and link the event's parameters to page parameters. This does not happen automatically.
So probably you haven't linked the event parameters to page parameters.
Issue 2: Why is the URL in the address bar
truncated after "PORTAL"?After an event is triggered you are forwarded to the page specified for the event with the specified parameters in event. If none specified I guess you go to the original page with no parameters. The URL is then only the URL of the page.

I have a portlet (portlet1) that contains a list of links. When a user clicks on one of the links it raises and event and passes a parameter to a second portlet (portlet2) on a different page. The problem I am having is that the Page Parameter on the 2nd page does not get the value being send by portlet1.
I construct the portlet1 links using the following code in the portle1 jsp

PS - In the code example I had to remove the the percent character % as it was causing the forum software to through an exception.

UDf Does not get value form link table

Hi Experts
i have created a UDF in marketing document grid area and linked the udf with a user defind table. When i click on the Udf column it show the value list of user table but does not return selected value in column.

Yes, I telling you that its not possible to bind a UDF of system form to a UDT.
its default table will be table of the system form.
If you want to add the data to your UDT, then you can do it by following process:
on the item press event of the add button anhd Action Success==true(i.e. after B1 add its data) you can Add/Update your table.

Table parameter does not contain values in RFC call

Hello Experts,
I created RFC in R/3 with table parameter I_CUSTOMER. This RFC will be called by the CRM to pass all the customers data to R/3. The RFC was triggered by CRM passing 20 entries in I_CUSTOMER. However, when the debugger jumps in R/3 the table I_CUSTOMER in R/3 is empty. Can anyone help me to resolve the issue? any idea? thanks in advance!

if CRM is passing 20 values through I_CUSTOMER, u must take
type <b>TABLE TYPE</b> which is to be created in dictionary.

LOV does not return value to the base page sometimes

Hi,
I have created messageLOV type items. These LOVs do return value to the base page usually. We have a user in Uruguay who is trying to use the page which has the LOVs. He says the LOV takes a long time to return to the main page after he clicks on quick select and also the value does not get populated in the main page.
We have not been facing any such problem here in India. The LOV has been tested rigorously with no issues as such.
Can you please suggest a reason why such a problem is occuring? Expecting your replies soon

How are you saving a new bookmark?

Content Organizer bug - PDF files does not get routed correctly if autodeclaration is on and library level default values are set

It looks like whenever one specifies Column default values at a library level then the content organizer routing goes a bit awry SPECIFICALLY FOR NON OFFICE FILES [e.g. PDF] . Below are the observations and issues
1. Column level default value set on a record library with auto declaration of records turned on. The content organizer routes the document to the library but also keeps a copy of the document in the drop off library. It does not remove it from the drop
off library. The instant we clear the default value settings at the library level of the target library the content organizer works as expected again.
2. If default value settings are specified on a column in the target library then the PDF file gets routed to the document library but all the metadata is blanked out. The copy of the file that remains in the drop off library has all the correct metadata but
the target library has blanked out metadata.
Are the 2 observations described above by design or are they bugs? If so is there any documentation that is available that proves this because this does not make logical sense and proving this to a client in the absence of any documentation is a challenge.
The problem goes away if we shift the default value to the site columns directly at the site collection level. It's just the library level defaults that the pdf files do not seem to agree with

Thanks for responding. This can be replicated in any environment but is only replicable for a specific combination of content organizer settings . The combination of settings I am referring to can be seen in the screenshot below. If you turn off redirect
users to the drop off library for direct uploads to libraries and if you turn on sharepoint versioning then you should be able to replicate the issue. Also we are using managed metadata site columns. I simplified this use case to a custom content content type
with just 2 custom managed metadata columns and can still replicate the issue in several environments. Also note the issue does not occur if the default values are set at the site or site collection level. It only occurs if you set the column value default
at a library level. I was able to replicate this on a completely vanilla Enterprise records site collection freshly created just to test this. Also note that the issue is not that the file does not reach the destination library. The issue is the
document does not get removed from the drop off library after it is transfered to the destination library which technically should have gotten removed.

Hi, I have a Crystal Report on Visual Studio 2010. I'm connecting using Ado.Net. I have a report with two columns in the "detail" section. Each column contains currency values. In the footer I have the summary for each of the two columns. The problem is: when one of the columns does not have any values, the summary does not get counted. What do I need to do, so that when there is no value in the column, it assumes that it is zero?

hi Aron,
if you create a new formula referencing the field, and then add a 'null' check to the formula, then this will work.
e.g.
if isnull({your_table.your_field}) then 0
else {your_table.your_field}
now add this new formula to your report canvas and insert the summary based on the new formula.

SQLite encrypted Database does not get attached Using Adobe Air,Why?

Any one knows the solution, am trying to attach the encrypted SQLite database adobe air-adobe flex bulder , it does not get attached using sqlconnection.attach throws error, though the given key is correct, but it gets open using sqlconnection.open with the same key, any one knows the solution, how to attach the encrypted data base, since am using two data base one is opened and another must be attached to the existing ,thanks in advance. using adobe air- flex related. i use the following code

It should be possible as it is clearly stated in the doc :

encryptionKey:ByteArray (default = null) — The encryption key for the database file. If the attach() call creates a database, the database is encrypted and the specified key is used as the encryption key for the database. If the call attaches an existing encrypted database, the value must match the database's encryption key or an error occurs. If the database being attached is not encrypted, or to create an unencrypted database, the value must be null (the default).
so with a same encryptionkey, I (and this should be the same for FinalTarget) can open the encrypted db but not to attach it... quite strange.

JAR file does not get uploaded to client for my SERVLET generated APPLET

I have a servlet that generates the HTML code that contains an APPLET. This APPLET needs a JAR file that is listed under its ARCHIVE property. The SERVLET is in a JAR file that is in the same directory as the other needed JAR file. If I create a static HTML with the output of the SERVLET it works fine. But if go through Weblogic the needed JAR file does not get uploaded to the client so I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:and my APPLET does not load.
Q1: I am not sure what to put under the CODEBASE tag. I tried "." and I also tried "http://mymachine" but both did not work. I also tried without the CODEBASE tag. No luck. The SERVLET is bound to http://mymachine/servlet.
Q2: Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? Is there a way to force the browser to upload a certain JAR file?

This is what I did:
The jar file in question was the weblogic.jar. I tried putting it under the lib directory of my war file but I had problems because the weblogic.jar contains other war files inside so when I tried to deploy my war file it also tried to deploy the inner war files which for some reason did not work. So I tried removing the war files from the weblogic.jar and this time I had no problems deploying my war file but I still could not find the classes I needed. So I tried moving the weblogic.jar to the root dir of my war file and it worked!! Now the trick here was: I did not set the CODEBASE AND I had the ARCHIVE paramenter set in TWO places like below:

Actually if you do not place a parameter named ARCHIVE (at the end) it wil NOT work. I tried with multiple jar files listed and it works great too.
Anyway I figure I'd share. Thanks for the help too.
Lastly for people who choose not to upload the jar files to clients, you should look at the bea documentation on applets. It lists a classpath servlet that allows you to provide classes to the clients without having to force them to download the jar file.

Layout Options - Page Order Does Not Work Correctly

I have a Photosmart C7280 All-in-One printer. The Layout Option - Page Order does not work as expected. The User Guide (page 95) states that the default for a multiple page document is to print first page first. The manual states that to print last page first requires one to change the Page Order to "Back to Front". For my Excel, Word, Internet Explorer and PDF pages, I need to leave the Page Order as "Front to Back" if I want the last page to print first. This makes no sense. In addition, I can't get my Quicken reports to print last page first no matter what I try. Does anyone no why the Page Order does not work as expected for Excel, Word, IE and PDF, and does not work at all for Quicken?

If you uncheck the "show" option, then the corresponding HTML for that item is not rendered on the page. Thus, when you try to inspect that item via APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02, it simply doesn't exist.
One trick that I use when I want to have hidden items on the page, but not make them take up any space, is to concatenate them to items that will be visible.
Using your query as an example, I would re-write it like this:

How To Make A Public Page Parameter (similar to session)

Hi, I'm new to Oracle Portal
I wonder how to make a public parameter that can be accessed from any page (similar to session).
So the portlets can use the public parameter.
Case:
when user logged in, I pass the employee_ID to the session.
Portal pages, which contains employee portlet, and some other portlet depends on employee_ID.
So I think, may be there's a way to set the parameter for once, but the value is accessible until the user log off.
Any suggestion or help?

Let me explain the problem once again:
Page 1 Portlet 1 contains employee table
ID, Name, Address
When I click the employee ID (using event), it will be pass the value to page parameter EMPID
And i want this EMPID can be accessed by
Portlet 2 - Showing sales report
Portlet 3 - Showing report
Portlet 4 - Showing chart
Portlet 5
and so on
Portlet 2, 3 4, 5, and so on is using EMPID as the parameter too,
but these portlets are located in different page
Portlet 2 is in page 2
Portlet 3 is in page 3
Portlet 4 is in page 4
Portlet 5 is in page 5
and so on
First I think about using Package wwpro_api_parameters
but after read further, this package can get and retrieve only
I wonder can this (public page parameter) be done by using default Oracle Portal Tools / API, or I should do some java coding, or something else?

Transaction Type field not getting value in F-05 transaction

Hi All,
When ever we are doing a reverse posting for foreign currency valuation using F.05 Tcode it will create a BDC session where we can execute this batch Input session thru SM37.
This will use F-05 Tcode to post the the entries, but the problem is one of the field Transaction Type is not getting value for some of the GL account numbers range. This is totally SAP standard program take cares of it. Transaction type field value shuld be populated by '990' value for this GL account range, this is fixed. So is thr any User exit or Screen exit for this Tcode or how we can populate the value....

I am having the same problem.
When running F.05 a BIM is created for GL account X. GL account X has a field status in which transaction type is defined as a required field because of BCS / ECCS. We have a substitution rule in place which should default the transaction type, based on several criteria. But when executing the BIM, I see that nothing is filled in field transaction type. Did you find a proper solution for your problem? Changing the field status is not an option in my opinion.

in the Data Monitor, ( in Reclass Net Reserve). While running BCF task for a company for period 16/2009
Actually, We have converted the consolidation area from XX(2009) to YY(2010).
Before this task, user has performed the balance carry forward.
My Analysis is as follows:-

Yes, the single selection is 1A, 1B etc, I agree that including this default value 9999999999 in single selection will resolve this issue, but the BREAK DOWN TYPE is OPTIONAL, that means It will also consider a blank value, right?
Also, In the method defined for RECLASSIFICATION in workbench, in the TARGET parameters, the" HFM CD2 and Asset Type" is blank but the "DEFAULT is TICKED" which makes it a mandatory derivation rule.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
