Publish for BlackBerry 10

Hi there,
since a short time it is possible to publish to BlackBerry 10 in the developer centre of BlackBerry.
Anyone here who already experienced with this?
Is it possible to submit the apps that were build with Flash Builder 4.6?
In the developer Centre you have to choose the devices on which your app could be installed.
Is it now possible to add BlackBerry 10 besides the PlayBook?
Best
omi

Yes, AIR apps work just great on BB10 and PlayBook. However, you can't yet use Stage3D or other recent features as the AIR 3.1 runtime is preinstalled on the device.

  • Is AIR for Blackberry 10 possible/worth it?

Has anyone developed for BB10 with Flash Professional?
How did you build the app?
Did you make it as an Android app and submit it?
Did it get many downloads? Was it worth doing?
What device did you test it on?
Will there be a propper AIR for Blackberry added to the publishing settings of Flash Pro in the future?

AIR is installed natively on BB10 and PlayBook, although it is still AIR 3.1 (i.e. no Stage3D).
Flash Builder and FDT are the preferred ways of developing, though it should be possible with Flash Pro if you know what you're doing. Better to try with FB or FDT first though, as they provide on-device debugging and excellent integration for packaging and deploying your apps. Otherwise you'll be messing around with the command line.
As BB10 has a native AIR runtime preinstalled, there is no point developing it as an AIR for Android app. In fact, it's impossible.
    It is certainly worth it.
We use Dev Alpha's, PlayBooks and Z10's to test our BB apps.

  • Lotus Connections 2.01 for Blackberry release date?

    Hello
I am just wondering when the Lotus Connections 2.01 for Blackberry will be released to the general public.  i read about this being released to "Gold" customers back in May.
I have signed up for updates on the RIM site (back in May) but have not heard anything.
Any updates?  Any forecasted dates?  It seems odd that RIM would delay this launch as I would assume they would want people to use their products.  I am sure there is a good explanation...but none I am aware of (or has been published).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • At AT&T Stores, No Welcome Mat for BlackBerry - So far the launch is a JOKE! ...WSJ

At AT&T Stores, No Welcome Mat for BlackBerry
By DREW FITZGERALD, IAN SHERR and WILL CONNORS
Research In Motion Ltd.'s BBRY -7.98%new BlackBerry landed with a thud in its U.S. debut Friday, failing to produce the crowds or buzz of competitors' recent smartphone launches.
The all-touchscreen Z10—seen as critical in helping to resurrect BlackBerry's standing in the market—went on sale Friday at AT&T T +0.53%stores and Best Buy BBY +1.29%outlets in the U.S. Despite the Canadian company's largest-ever marketing push, there was little fanfare at these stores.
AT&T, the first U.S. carrier to begin selling the phones, didn't appear to highlight the Z10 or give it prominent shelf space at its stores.
At two AT&T stores in Manhattan, there were neither special signs nor floor displays to highlight the Z10. Apple Inc., AAPL +1.92%on the other hand, still had its own space on the wall prominently displaying three different iPhones in the stores.
When a customer asked to see the Z10 at an AT&T store in downtown San Francisco, the store's representatives had to retrieve it from the back. The device hadn't been put out on display at the store's opening because of difficulties setting it up, a store employee said. The device was eventually installed on a display at a back corner of the store, away from a large sign advertising the iPhone 5.
Representatives from AT&T and BlackBerry didn't immediately respond for comment.

This article is from the Wall Street Journal.  And just in case you are not familiar with this "rag" [from wiki]:
The Wall Street Journal is an American English-language international daily newspaper with a special emphasis on business and economic news. It is published in New York City by Dow Jones & Company, a division of News Corporation, along with the Asian and European editions of the Journal.
The Journal is the largest newspaper in the United States, by circulation. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, it has a circulation of 2.1 million copies (including 400,000 online paid subscriptions), as of March 2010,[2] compared to USA Today's 1.8 million. Its main rival, in the business newspaper sector, is the London-based Financial Times, which also publishes several international editions.
The Journal primarily covers American economic and international business topics, and financial news and issues. Its name derives from Wall Street, located in New York City, which is the heart of the financial district; it has been printed continuously since its inception on July 8, 1889, by Charles Dow, Edward Jones, and Charles Bergstresser. The newspaper version has won the Pulitzer Prize thirty-three times,[3] including 2007 prizes for its reporting on backdated stock options and the adverse effects of China's booming economy.[4][5]
...not exactly a 'short' guide...which is why I posted it.  BTW, I was in Best Buy last night and there was NOTHING on the Z10...NOTHING!  Best Buy had end caps for the Iphone and Samsung, they had models of each to use.  At the BBRY section, they only had old models.

  • Cisco Jabber for Blackberry

    Hi Jabber Experts,

Please advice how can i place a call from my Cisco Jabber Application?

    Hi Binu,
Cisco Jabber for Blackberry probably has similar causes for failure to register as the Android version.   You may wish to check out the "Cisco Jabber Registration Fails" section at the following URL for ideas:

  • Any roadmap to have to Lync client for Blackberry 10?

...with full feature support of course (phone, video, presence,...).
I know there are still some challenges like at current time with BB10 OS (like you must keep you app in an active frame), but these limitations will soon go away with the new OS version (http://devblog.blackberry.com/2013/05/blackberry-jam-headless-invoke/?CPID=E10C020,
new Background Services framework which allows developers to bundle a separate process with their application to run in the background without a UI)
The Lync for Mac version still lacks of some critical phone features not being implemented (delegate support, team-call group members, wireless QoS tagging 802.11e,...)

    Hi,
There is currently no Lync client available for Blackberry (RIM) devices. Sorry to say I also did not find any roadmap about lync for Blackberry 10.

  • Unable to log into Facebook for BlackBerry 10 since last year

Please help me understand why the facebook app for BlackBerry 10 doesn't allow me to login at all. See the attached screen shot which may not successfully load (error message reads as follows "sorry, an unexpected error occurred. Please try again later), I haven't had the chance to even submit my login credentials. This has happened every single time I click the app for several months now.
Bought my Z30 last year summer/ fall and love it except for the lack of app selections.
However no luck even after the two BlackBerry 10 OS updates to 10.2.1 and the last two Facebook for BlackBerry 10 updates to 10.4.0.12. Un-installing, re-installing, deleting from phone and also removing from My BlackBerry World account did not work.
I have no problems logging into the facebook app made for iPhone, iPad. I'm able to login into my Facebook on Mac computer. Windows computer and even on the BlackBerry browser.
I have already exhausted my options with hours on the phone with tech support at Phone company.
I am hoping I can get some help without having to wipe my phone completely or having to send it into the phone company.
In addition, they will give me a loaner which so far I'm told all their stores only have z10 and no Z30s to give me while my Z30 will be in for repairs.
Any useful advice would be appreciated. Please read the above in its entirety before responding so you will know what I have already done.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Problem with Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry 10

    Hi Blackberry Team,
I've recently encountered a problem with Yahoo Messenger 10.1.0.88 on my Blackberry Q10 running OS 10.1.0.4181 software. It had been working fine for like a month after I purchased this phone from the authorized shop in Thailand until a few days ago it started showing the message within seconds after signed-in: 'Your connectino to the instant messaging provider has been lost. You can wait for the connection to be re-established or close the application and try logging in later'.
This is only when I'm on 3G cellular network. It works fine through Wi-Fi connection.
I did some research on website and found that the latest version of Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry is actually 10.1.1.16 released on Sep 30th, 2013 but, for some unknown reasons, my Blackberry World only shows the '10.1.0.88' (which already installed on my phone) as the latest version.
I really need this for work as I'm communicating with international bankers over yahoo. Please help look into this problem and get it fixed at your earliest possible. Thank you.

I have the same problem with my z10 always unknown error it getting me crazy

    You cannot downgrade.
You can reset your phone to factory settings if you wish to see if it corrects your issue. Resetting to factory settings will wipe out all your data so you should save it first. To save all your stuff download and install BlackBerry Link on your computer from the link below. Resetting will not back-up the OS on your phone. Once you have downloaded and installed BlackBerry Link connect your phone to your computer and save your stuff. Once saved disconnect your phone from the computer.
To reset your phone: tap the Settings App, scroll down and tap Security and Privacy, tap Security Wipe, tap the blank box and enter blackberry.
Once Wiped reconnect your phone to your computer and install your stuff.

  • [Ask & Note] Feedback for BlackBerry 10

    Hi,
I have some feedback for blackberry team but I don't know where to post it..
So I'll just post it here and please let me know if this room is not the place for my post.. Thanks..
I'm now using BB10 (Q10) and have some feedback for blackberry, so I hope this feedback can be used to improve BB10 features and also increase the easy to use and popularity of BB10
    Here is the list:
    1. Auto suggestion for email address (To/CC/BCC). Here I'd experienced that this features is useful and also very much annoying, why? because the list is come from the recent email address that we use to send and also from email address that have send email to us including the SPAM email (if coming to our BB Inbox), my suggestion is to make some feature/menu for user to have option for clean-up the list of email suggestion or user can delete some email in the list if they feel that email is not necessary to be there (like we will never send email to DoNotReply email from some company/domain).
    2. Recent Updates in BBM. I'm one of some users that not using 'Recent Updates' feature in BBM, and this feature is one of the reason why my BB battery drain so fast.. Correct there is option to turn off the 'Recent Updates' but the way is so much not user friendly, I must tap and hold each and every one in my contact list updates and hide their updates from my BBM, why not just put one option in setting for turn off ALL Updates (like u have in old BBM)? I think it will be more acceptable in this world compared to hide one by one (imagine if you have more than 1000 contacts in your BBM) and you must do it every time you do complete clean firmware upgrade.
    3. Mobile Network vs Wifi. I don't know this is just happen in my BB or other's too. My experience is, if I was connected to a wifi network and turned off my wifi, the connection supposed to be from Mobile Network, but what happened in my device is, the connection just shown E / 3G without BB logo (means no connection to Blackberry Service), it's happen until I manually turn off the Mobile Network and turn it on again or change my Network from 2G to 3G only vice versa. Please do check about this problem.
so far that's the feedbacks from me, please let me know if there is some mistake in my post..
    Thanks a lot..
I hope Blackberry will grown up again and more bigger than before..
    Best Regards and Thanks,
    Hartawan

  • StockDaddy Turbo for BlackBerry 10 updated to v1.1.0

We first told you about StockDaddy Turbo a short while ago and for those of you that need to keep an eye on your stocks and shares it's the perfect application to do so - right from your BlackBerry 10 device.
The developer dropped me an email to advise that the app had received its first update and with it brings notifications right into the BlackBerry Hub. If you've already downloaded the app, this new feature will possibly be of huge value to you. Clearly, StockDaddy won't be for everybody but if you have investments this one could be a deal breaker.
As you'll see from the change log below there are several extra good bits and there is even more to come in the near future.
    New in v1.1.0.0:
Stock Alert Notification: Define a threshold on the stock and the notifications comes right to your Hub
Search for and Add North American ETFs to the Watchlist
Password Protect: Stop people from snooping in your Portfolios by enabling Password Protect
Add to Watch/Port buttons are now enabled when searching for a stock using the search button
    Minor UI changes
    Minor Bug fixes
