Published site aligning differently on desktop and iPad

Hello,
Hoping someone can help, have spent the last 4 hours trying everything and cannot find the solution.
Have exported as HTML and uploaded to FTP. The design views perfectly and centrally in browser on my Desktop (top), but on my iPad and Android tablet the pinned header appears central but the rest of the site is aligned to the left. Site and individual page properties show padding to top and bottom but all are aligned as 'centre horizontally'.
I have tried unpinning the header, adding padding to the left, rebuilding the layers..
Any help would be amazing..

Hey again Zak...
So I'm pretty sure that there is nothing hidden and nothing unlocked off screen that would be causing this issue..
If you have the time or inclination to further help, I've uploaded part of the site http://czav.co.uk/BritishTapas/MuseExport/ - if possible you would be able to see the difference on a portable device and desktop/laptop..
I think it has something to do with the header at the top, being pinned perhaps as when I pin elements on the page the force central.. It doesn't make sense at all as it appears completely fine on my desktop and not on my iPad..
If you are able to help anymore, thank you, I appreciate if you are busy..
Have attached a screen of the master page showing all elements
Best regards
Christian

  • Published site looks different on mac and pc?

having (finally) published my site, why do the fonts and layout look different on my mac to my husbnad's pc? v odd???

because different browsers interpret CSS files indifferent ways and because fonts that are installed on your mac may not necessarily be installed on your husbands pc. It is a common gripe of web designers (not just those using iWeb) that margins and padding (for example) are all read differently by IE than by FF.

  • Muse template site working perfect on desktop and ipad...it's linking back to the template I purchased on my mobile.

The button is checked for redirect from desktop in FIle> Site Property. Can anyone help me?

Can you provide screenshots or links to the site?

  • HT204053 Can I use the same Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime services from two different devices - iPhone and iPad?

Can I use the same Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime services simultaneously on two different devices - iPhone and iPad? It seems those are competing to each other, and the services work on one of them only (iPhone).

Many thanks, Sir! Both are mine and it's good to know that imessage can work on both with the same Apple ID. Will now have to find out why imessage stopped working on iPad when it started on iPhone (new). After exploring the forum I understand  that there may be plenty of reasons why imessage does not work, even though it worked previously on the same device with the same ID.

  • I downloaded mountain lion on my laptop.  Do I need to do the same on my Desktop and iPad or is the one download good for all 3, and how do I do that if it is?

I downloaded mountain lion on my laptop.  Do I need to do the same on my Desktop and iPad or is the one download good for all 3, and how do I do that if it is?

If your desktop computer is one that supports Mountain Lion, you can either download it there or make a bootable jump drive with the installer on it -- assuming you haven't yet used the installer you downloaded to your laptop.
As for the iPad, it doesn't use the same OS as the Macs do; it uses iOS versions, so Mountain Lion won't work there.

Other than a couple of minor adjustments, such as the one that Diavonex suggested above, there is nothing that a user can do in settings to adjust color. There is no way to calibrate the color like you can do with a computer monitor.

  • Site opens different in PC and Mac

Hi, I am having trouble with the site after I publish it to a non .mac domain. It opens different in PC and Mac. If I fix to look fine for one opens weird in other. Also, the navigation tabs doesent open in some computers. Any ideas?
    The site is
    http://www.ournepal.info/
    Thanks

The main thing is to stick to fonts from the web safe list. If you do use other fonts make sure you convert them to an image. Doing this will increase your page download time and should be avoided where possible.
The standard iWeb navigation will not appear on PCs using Internet Explorer with Java turned off.
The solution is to hide the standard navigation, build your own in a text box, create the links and paste it to each page of your site

  • TS1702 reminder date different on iphone and ipad

I am using Reminders. i have them set up to sync wirelessly with my corporate exchange server.
The due date for a task is different on my iphone and ipad. Why is this/

    Greetings Zack,
When all the devices and the data on them are behaving, they should all match.  Since you indicate the information is not the same, that would suggest there is a break in the chain of communication.
Before doing any troubleshooting, backup your data:
    Backup your iPhone/iPad: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    Backup your calendars on MobileMe.
    Follow http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4226
Go to "backing up data" and then "Backing up from me.com/calendar"
If you login to www.me.com/calendar and view your calendars on the MM website, is it correct and the most up to date?
    If so:
1.) Ensure all your iOS devices are completely up to date with their software by plugging them into your computer and hitting update in iTunes.
2.) Turn all the devices off and then back on.
3.) If data is not consistent at this point it would be cleanest to disconnect all the devices from MobileMe and then re-connect them.
Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, > Your MobileMe account > "Delete Account"
4.) Once the account has been deleted from all the devices and you've deleted the data off the devices, re-add your MobileMe account to each device one at a time.  This will prompt each device to download a fresh copy of your data from MobileMe and re-establish their connection.
    Hope that helps.

  • Possible error with viewing same site on desktop and iPad

Site is viewing correctly on desktop but on iPad everything not pinned is being pushed to left with white space to the right of page.
There are no hidden or active elements off the page anywhere..

    Here is an observation.
With Acrobat Reader 11.0.02 installed on OS X 10.8.2 and Windows 7 (with latest updates), the reported default page display resolution in Reader's preferences is 81 for OS X, and 96 for Windows. What this means in English is that PDF that are viewed on OS X appear noticeably smaller than when viewed at 96 ppi. Like looking backwards through binoculars.
What happens if you adjust the Reader custom display resolution to 96 ppi. Does this improve the visuals with Windows counterparts?
On IOS, and in particular, later models of iPad and iPhone, you are looking at PDF at default display resolutions upwards to 326 ppi. I would hope that the PDF look sharper on IOS 5/6 than they do on OS X. Try setting the custom display resolution in Adobe Reader on OS X to 326 ppi. Notice any sharper (albeit) huge resolution difference?
Are you requesting the “Best” setting for Pages PDF export, or “Better.” There is a 150 ppi resolution difference for text in those settings.

  • Published site slight different

When publishing my site to a folder on my computer it looks slightly different to how it does in iWeb. Some text is underlined and the alignment is not quite how it should be.
This isn't a problem with hosting the site on the net, it's something to do with what happens to the site in iWeb as it's being published to the folder.
    Any ideas?

On the Contact page, try increasing the size of the text box slightly. It loads with a return after "Email:" before it straightens itself out. Also do a Command A on pages to check that objects/text boxes are not touching or overlapping.
If you tried the troubleshooting steps and they didn't fix the underlined text problem you need to go one step further.
Delete the offending text, save and quit iWeb
Delete the .plist, reboot your Mac and run Disk Utility to repair permissions
Launch iWeb, add the text, save and publish
Deleting the text and rebooting gets rid of the screwed up info from the domain file. Doing a restart is the only way to clear redundant files out of iWeb so you should do it regularly.

  • Sharing iMovie between Desktop and iPad.

Is there a way to Share the iMovie Projects and Events I have on my Desktop with my iPAd iMovie. I have an iCloud account if that can be used. THANKS!
    Jim

Adobe Reader does not support iCloud at the moment. You can share your documents by saving them to Acrobat.com.  Acrobat.com documents can be accessed across iOS, Android and the a desktop browser.
    Thanks

  • Music library sorts differently on iPhone and iPad

Odd issue... My music library sorts differently on my iPad and iPhone music app despite having identical setting (ie. sort by album artist toggled off)
Album View... On my iPhone, the first album is A-Sides by Soundgarden.  On the iPad, the first album is Hunting High and Low by A-Ha.  iPhone sorts by album, iPad by artist in this view.
Artist View.... Both devices list A-Ha first, as well as a compilation album they appear on.  The iPhone displays Take on Me by A-Ha as the only track on this album.  The iPad shows Take on Me first, but then displays the 19 other tracks on this album, all by other artists.
    Any insights?  Thanks!

Sadly this is a bug that I have been able to relicate on 3 different devices, and that has NOT been fixed by 7.1.2
To replicate, you need an "oldish" device (iPhone 4 & 4S, iPad 2 & Mini), and an iTunes match subscription with quite a few songs.
    Start from a clean slate:
    - Switch off iTunes match (settings / apps store or music)
    - Kill all apps
    - Reboot
    - Reset (home +power until apple appears)
Check available space on settings / general / about
    Then:
    - Activate iTunes match
    - Play some non locally stored music
    - Wait
Yesterday, it took 1h for my iPad mini with 5.3GB available to show the "storage almost full" message and 0 bytes available
Note that I have tried with a full reset and it does not change anything.
    To solve the problem:
    - Switch off iTunes match
    - Reset
The memory is now back (but I cannot use iTunes match)

  • Just noticed - Apple ID's different on iPhone and iPad

Hi everyone, I downloaded an app on my iPhone and noticed it wasn't available for download on my iPad.  When I checked, both devices were running different Apple ID's.  I want to share my apps across all my Apple devices, how can I rectify this - ideally I would like to merge both ID's into one but I have read this isn't possible?
    Thanks for reading

I don't think there is any way to merge them and all apps are tied to the ID with which they were purchased.  I think you should choose one ID (probably the one with the most attached apps) and always use it in the future.  You may have to repurchase some apps for the other device.

  • ICal events different on iPhone and iPad

why are the events on my single MobileMe account different or missing from my iphone4, to my wife's iPhone 3GS, and to the iPad2?  I would think according to the sync from MobileMe that it should be standard across the board.
