Hello,
I am using the instructions available in the link below to pull multiple excel files in a folder into a table.

The instructions use two variables FilePath & FolderPath which i would like to record into another table. I dont have coding experience and therefore i am stuck. I see the code above but i am unable to modify for my usage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you wanna read the Filepath/FOlderpath values from a table int he database, use the Single row resultset option of Execute SQL task. That should help. refer:

For recording the path variable data to a table in database, use ExecuteSQL task to achieve the functionality again:
Bind the variable data into a sql variable : smthin like
"INSERT INTO Data_Result(Result) VALUES ('"+@[USER::my_data]+"')"
Then use this sql variable as the statement to be executed in execute sql task.

My requirement is to read an excel file from application server into internal table.
Hence I have created an excel file fm_test_excel.xls in desktop and uploaded to app server using CG3Z tcode (as BIN file type).
Now in my program I have used :
OPEN DATASET v_filename FOR INPUT IN text mode encoding default.
DO.
READ DATASET v_filename INTO wa_tab.
The statement OPEN DATASET works fine but I get a dump (conversion code page error) at READ DATASET statement.
Error details:
A character set conversion is not possible.
At the conversion of a text from codepage '4110' to codepage '4103':
- a character was found that cannot be displayed in one of the two
codepages;
- or it was detected that this conversion is not supported
The running ABAP program 'Y_READ_FILE' had to be terminated as the conversion
would have produced incorrect data.
The number of characters that could not be displayed (and therefore not
be converted), is 445. If this number is 0, the second error case, as
mentioned above, has occurred.
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_CONVERSION_CODEPAGE', was not
caught and
therefore caused a runtime error.
The reason for the exception is:
Characters are always displayed in only a certain codepage. Many
codepages only define a limited set of characters. If a text from a
codepage should be converted into another codepage, and if this text
contains characters that are not defined in one of the two codepages, a
conversion error occurs.
Moreover, a conversion error can occur if one of the needed codepages
'4110' or '4103' is not known to the system.
If the conversion error occurred at read or write of screen, the file
name was '/usr/sap/read_files/fm_test_excel.xls'. (further information about
the file: "X 549 16896rw-rw----201105170908082011051707480320110517074803")
Also let me know whether this is the proper way of reading excel file from app server, if not please suggest an alternative .

Try to use OPEN DATASET v_filename FOR INPUT IN BINARY mode encoding default. instead of OPEN DATASET v_filename FOR INPUT IN text mode encoding default.
As I think you are uploading the file in BIN format to Application server and trying to open text file.

Importing multiple jpeg files from local folder into database LOB column
I have to programatically save multiple pictures (jpeg) from the folder on my PC into Oracle table LOB column. I have to be able to choose local folder on my PC where are the pictures, and press button on Oracle Forms to save pictures in LOB column in database.
I'm using Forms 6i and Oracle 10g Rel2 database.
Is this possible with Oracle Forms or the only way to do that is to use create directory database command and use dbms_lob package which I shouldn't do, because Oracle database directory is not allowed to see my local folder.As I said I don't know how to use object data type, I just given a shot as below. Loading multiple text files from a folder into oracle clob field
I would like to load about 300 word documents into a oracle clob field with each document inserted as a separate record.
I'm not quite sure how to go about doing this. Is there a utility in oracle that would do this?
I've looked at sql loader and utl_file but both require the name of the file. Is there a way I can do this?
If its not possible using just oracle, does anyone know how I can do this in combination with perl?

Essentially, you will have to write code to loop thru all 300 files to load them into the database

How do I merge multiple Excel files with more than one tab in each file using PowerQuery?

I have 12 Excel (.xlsx) files and each file has three identically named and ordered tabs in them.
I know how to merge multiple Excel files in a folder using M (those guides are all over the web) but how do I merge multiple Excel files with multiple (yet identically named and ordered) tabs? Surely it is possible? I just don't know how to do it in M.

JamesWhat Laurence says is correct, and probably the best thing to do when the sheets have differing structures. Here is an alternate approach that works well when the sheets all have the same structure.
When you first open the Excel file from Power Query, you can see its structure in the navigator at the right-hand-side of the screen. If you select the root (which is the filename itself) and click Edit, you'll see all the tabs in the sheet as a single table.
You can now do filtering based on the Name, Item and Kind values. When you've reduced the set of things down to the sheets you want, select the Data column and say "Remove Other Columns". If the sheets don't have any header rows, you can just click the expand
icon in the header and you'll be done.
Otherwise, if the sheets have headers or if some other kind of sheet-level transformation is required against each sheet before doing a merge, you'll have to write some M code manually. In the following example, each sheet has a header row consisting of
two columns: Foo and Bar. So the only step I need to perform before merging is to promote the first row into a header. This is done via the Table.TransformColumns operation.

I have a bunch of excel files in a specified folder. I wanted to combine all the excel files into one excel file by adding additional tabs in one excel file. Can I do this using SSIS?

How to upload all excel files data from one folder into internal table.

I have one requirement, It is like I want to upload the frontend file data into my internal table, But here my scenario is;
If I have one folder ( Called : Temp) in my frontend system, in this folder ( Called : Temp) I have 100 excel files. In each excel file I have some 1000u2019s of entries. All these data of every file I want to take into my internal table.
If I have one file I can go for, CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>file_open_dialog and then upload method to upload. But I want to take all these excel files from that folder at a time, is there any class or any thing is there..? plz help..

You are trying to read file wrong way. In the tutorial of Java Excel Api: "JExcelApi can read an Excel spreadsheet from a file stored on the local filesystem or from some input stream.". You are trying to read from file system. So you must get file input stream then you can read it. Please search forums KM file read. -

As far as I know, Microsoft doesn't provide such kind of tools. But If you're familiar with Excel development, you can create your own VBA code or other kind of application(e.g. .Net application) to automate the Excel workbooks in the folder. Use the VBA
code or applications to access the Excel object model to check the cell format.
For example, use this vba code to check if cell A1 is bold:

I have a requirement where i have to upload data from an excel file into a database table. I would be able to determine the structure of the table only at runtime based on the user input.. so i have created an internal table dynamically.
Could you please tell me if its possible to upload data from an excel file to the dynamically created internal table using any function modules?
I thought of doing this by declaring a generic internal table of one field and then uploading the *.csv file into it and then splitting it based on "," and then assigning it to the field symbol referencing the internal table.. but my file length exceeds 132 characters and i'm only able to get data of lenght 132 char's in my internal table ( generic one).
Could anyone please show me a way around this.
