I have an HP Photosmart 5520 all in one printer and a MacBook Pro. Bought the MacBook Pro in Jan 2013 and the printer in Dec 2012. I was able to print to the wireless printer up until June 2013. In September, when I tried to use them together, I could not print. During the period between June and Sept., my laptop software was updated. I have tried to update the HP software on my laptop, but could not. What can I do to use this printer with my MacBook Pro? Please help!

The MacBook Pro is running at least 10.7.

To add on to what sabertooth04 stated, here is a link to a document that addresses print apps for your model of printer. Click on the drop down titled "Managing Scheduled Delivery Print Apps" and the option to cancel or remove an app will be available for you to click on and review the steps to remove that app . No one knows if the interactive dialog will return, except adobe and adobe is not saying.
What operating system are you using?
On windows there is a way to get it back, but not if your using a mac.

Can't seem to be able to get wording to be readable on the paper. Put in new Black Cartridge today, Color Cartridges are ok, according to the printer diagonstics report that was just done. Prior to this issue, I was able to print reports. Used the HP Prit and Scan Doctor app---letters and numbers are not able to be seen on the paper

I found a solution. Some method an properties of UISB can be used in the cvlass (like, contructor, update, target). Some otherelse not. So the other can be used only when i do an instance of my own class, like properties of the instance. Ex:
textfield.UISB.x = 100;
textfield: instance of my class
UISB: scrollbar declared within my class
x= properties defined only instancing my class

You need to read the basics about Swing events.

I purchased my HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one printer in 2005. It was previously installed on a HP Laptop, Windows XP, and all the features worked.
It is now on a PC running Windows Vista Ultimate 32. When I tried installing the printer software CD, it wouldn't load because of the Vista OS. I then loaded the HP Photosmart 2600 series full feature printer driver (Vista OS compatible) from the following HP website link:

Now I cannot get the Printing Preferences to allow Manually Duplexing (two-sided) printing. This option was available on the original printer software.
I've tried the solutions on: HP Image Zone Help / Two-Sided Prints which indicate: Click the Finishing tab / In the Document options area / select the Print on both sides check box (this box is not available).
When I run the printer from the Control Panel as Administrator, the printer Properties / Device Settings show Manual Duplexing: Enabled. When I go to the printer Properties / Advanced / Printing Defaults, neither the Finishing / Print On Both Sides check box is available nor will the Printing Shortcuts tabs allow the Print On Both Sides option to appear (only shows Print On Both Sides: Off).
HP e-mail support told me to install this patch to correct the problem:

When I try installing the patch, it won't load because it wants the original CD software. The driver is supplied through Windows Update. Go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, then select Windows Update. It will take a few minutes to update the list, then the Deskjet 6500 series will be a choice under HP (not Hewlett-Packard).

HP Photosmart 2610xi all-in-one caught fire/started smoking

I have a HP Photosmart 2610xi all-in-one thats started smoking and appeared as if it had caught fire. I had recently moved it from on top of my counter to under it in a cabinent with my computer. I used the same cords, plugins, etc, i move it all the time and this wasn't anything major. When i plugged it back in as usual the screen flashed white and then turned off. I tried to press the on button but it wouldn't start. As i was finishing step three, i plugged in the power cord into the usual outlet and then plugged the cord into the printer. The lights and Screen flashed rapidly and smoke started rising from the back. I immediatly unplugged the power cord from the printer and power outlet. What could have caused this, and what are my options. Ive loved this printer since i got it, and would prefer it repaired, unfortunetly its not showing up on the warrenty check so im assuming its out of warrenty, its pretty old. Thanks

The Photosmart 2610 has been out of production for five years or so, I bought my last new one at closeout when I retired in 2005. I do not have any information on repair costs. The HP Partsurfer site says "Note: This product (Q5550A) is no longer supported by HP as of Oct-10-2008, and service parts may not be available. The information below is for reference only."

What is the difference between the new version of lion and the one manufactured last year.

I just bought a new iMac. I found out it is the version of lion from mid last year and not the latest version. What is the difference?Should I return it and buy the latest version?

No it is not. The newest update just adds some things to it, no new features and only fixes bugs. It is still Lion OS X 10.7.x. It is not 10.6 or 10.8.
It is just a "Point" release and not a New Operating system. All Macbook Pros that could run Lion from last year can run the newest Lion Point release from this year.
Oh and by the way Barney was talking about Mountain Lion, 10.8. Which is a NEW OS X operating system and has nothing to do with Lion 10.7.x. And it is not out yet.
lol. Don't bust a blood vein. The comment was made in jest, but if you want to be serious, then OK 10.7 and 10.7.1 were different than 10.7.2 and 10.7.3. Why? Well one little thing called 'iCloud' for a start.

Did you try recovery mode? Hold down the home button as you connect it to iTunes. iTunes should pop up a window that says "iTunes has detected a device in recovery mode" and give you the option to restore.

I have been updating my PSE since 10. Recently I purchased PSE13 as I didn't see an update for my 12. I was changing to a new laptop as my old laptop had been patched and worked and was showing signs of giving out. It was a Window's 7OS. My new one is a Windows 8 OS so I bought the 13 and downloaded it on the new laptop. Our desktop had died so I downloaded the 13 on the new desk computer also. Not thinking I downloaded 13 on my old laptop as I hope to get it patched up enough to be a backup for my photography. When I tried to activate it I realized that I had downloaded it too often. I didn't know you could only use it on two computers. Learn something new every day.. Any way I removed it and now my PSE 12 does not seem to be working. Now it could be something that I did or something that is an issue with the laptop. this laptop has all the previous editions on board as I always tried to update, except for the year I got a really good deal on Black Friday. I also notice that the new laptop has a copy of PSE 12 in the program list. To my knowledge I have never deactivated any of my PSE's except the extra 13 downloaded. Bottom line, do I need to go in and deactivate previous PSE versions and removed them from my computer? I could certainly use the space and secondly, can I deactivate the PSE 12 and then go back and reacitivate it and install it again on the old laptop or the desktop, whichever I deside would be the most appropriate place for the newer program. For the PSE 12 since it is an updater for 11, does the 11 still need to be on the laptop? thanks for anyone who can understand what I am trying to say and can advise me as to my next move. HP Photosmart e-all-in-one NOT PRINTING for MAC 10.9.2

I have a HP Photosmart e-all-in-one wireless that I have been using for my Apple devices (Mac, iphone, ipad) for years and recently it started giving me problems.
First month or so ago, out of nothing the MacBookPro would not see the printer connected, in dispite of been connected to the network. During that time I was able to find it connected from my iphone & ipad. Then I was using to print from these last two.
Now, not even from my iphone & ipad. It seems that printer does not exist at all, coz it always says "printer not connected" on the MacBook and "No AirPrint Printers Found" on the ipad & iphone.
I've noticed that on HP website, the most updated version of the Mac is 10.9 and my devices has 10.9.2 Is this the problem? If so, how can I get by and continue to use the printer? I need to print ASAP.

Photosmart C4580 All-In-One - Error Message: Print Cartridge(s) missing or not detected

I have recently encountered a problem with my printer.
I went to print a document and the following error message was displayed on the printer "Print Cartridge(s) missing or not detected", and the document would not print.
I am unsure as to why this message was displayed as I had not changed anything to do with the printer.
The cartridges that were in the printer had been in the printer since October so I thought that it could be due to the cartridges needing to be replaced, therefore, I changed the black ink cartridge. Once the cartridge had been replaced the error message disappeared and the document printed.
However, I went to print another document shortly after and the error message reappeared and the document would not print.
Due to the fact that changing the black cartridge cleared the error message, I replaced the colour cartridge, however, this did not cure the error message this time.
I have followed all of the advice on the HP support pages about cleaning the contacts etc, however, it has not worked. I have also contacted the support team by Email, but have had no reply.
Does anyone know how to cure the problem, or if in fact it can be cured. I am a university student and desperately need the use of my printer, so any help would be appreciated.

Yes it did get resolved in the end.
It seems that the fault came from using remanufactured or re-filled cartridges.
I had to replace both of the cartridges so that they were genuine HP cartridges.
Originally I only replaced the one that was causing the problem, but in the end I had to replace both of them. This then resolved the problem immediately.

If not, I would advise contacting the HP support team as when they finally replied to my email they were very helpful and quick to reply to queries and offer advice and suggestions.

Photosmart C5180 all in one not copying and or printing

My Photosmart C5180 all in one-- will not print material from my computer. It will not copy either.
I did a print test from my computer's solution software and a nice picture of 2 pears came out fine
in living color. I did an extended self test diagnostic - 2 pages--and the headings (product information, etc)
printed out fine in black and blue ink---but the info under each heading printed really really light - not readable.
When I try to print from my computer I get a blank page. When I try to copy something it sounds like it
is printing, but the paper is blank. Thanks for the help.

With my limited knowledge of file structures I assume that the header file must be corrupt.
Is there a 3rd party utility that can decompile and fix the file structure so it will load properly. I've been working on this project since june and would hate to have to redo the whole thing again.
