Why did my MacBook Air (purchased 4/6/14 at Apple store) have no charge left on battery and did not come with Mavericks (I had to install)?

Could I have been sold an older model? (And yes, it was in its original packaging.) At the time, I was told that it was because I bought a maxxed-out unit, and that those tend to "sit on the shelf" longer than the less expensive units. I'd appreciate any advice.

To check if you have got the most recent MacBook Air model, open  > About this Mac > More Info. If you see you have got a Mid 2013 one, you have got the most recent MacBook Air.
Note that you may have purchased a Mac which was manufactured before the Mavericks launch (in October 2013). You can check which OS X version your Mac has got in  > About this Mac; 10.9 is the most recent version, and the latest update for OS X Mavericks is 10.9.2.

Where can I find the drivers or the software to install windows on my mac? I am waiting all day for downloading the software support and the progression bar is stacked. I dot not have any dvd or cd because this macbook is new and did not come with it.

I recently got a hand-me-down Macbook (white) 2010 and want to restore to factory settings. The computer did not come with any discs. It is running 10.6.8 and I purchased 10.6.3 recently to upgrade my MacBook Pro. Can I use that to restore the MacBook?

I want to give the hand-me-down to my kids so they will stay off my MacBook Pro I'd like to start fresh with the MacBook, remove all the former owners information, restore it to factory settings, but it did not come with any installation discs, so I don't know what to do. I recently purchased Snow Lepoard for my 2008 MacBook Pro. Can I use that to restore the MacBook? Also, the former owner purchased Microsoft Office (ugh) with the computer but again, no installation discs. How do I keep that when I restore?

I purchased a mini to HDMI cable and tried to connect to the TV but the TV is not recognizing the computer. I attempted to set sound and display settings under the "my Preferences" utility with no success. Again, I'm not sure if I need to upgrade my OS software Any Suggestions?

2012 MacbookPro with Mountain Lion did NOT come with disk for drivers

I bought my Macbook Pro around Christmas time of 2012 and it had OS X Mountain Lion preinstalled on it. It did NOT come with a backup disk incase I needed to reinstall Mountain Lion on my computer. I want to install Bootcamp. How do I get the Mountain Lion drivers for my Mac? I have drivers for Windows, and I understand that I can put either of these drivers onto a usb or firewire, but how do I acquire the Mountain Lion disk/drivers in the first place?

You shouldn't need Mountain Lion drivers you will only need BootCamp that located in your Utilities folder. Take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/VI54
Also with Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion equipped Macs, OS DVD no longer shipped with the units, because to reinstall the OS you will need to download the software via your recovery partition on your hard drive.

If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
• iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay
• DVD Studio pro - Part of FinalCut Studio Pro bundle - this to has expired and can only be bought second handed. (High price and tough learning Curve - but best ever done.)
• Roxio Toast™ - Not as elegant as iDVD - but has many other positive additions (I like it as 10-Pro incl BD-component) (now version 11)
• Burn - a free alternative I know of on internet. Very simple - Just for doing a plain Video-DVD

If the battery was empty (and it may then take 10 to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

There has to be some kind of code somewhere within the package. The disk itself does not contain one. You can look here for help with finding your serial number:

Bought IMAC sept2012 after updates gray screen shows up with logo at start up. Please help! I don't know the system as I just start using it and the package did not come with CD to reinstall system. I tried to reboot holding shift but it does not work.

I bought the IMAC 21.5" /2.5QC /2X2GB /500GB /6750M sept2012. After the automatic update run when restart computer the screen is on the gray screen with the logo and wont' do anything else. I tried to reboot holding the shift key without success. The package did not come with a CD so I can not reinstall the previous system. Try booting into the Recovery HD which is on the HD. Restart holding down Command+r and at the screen with four choices select Disk Utility>Macintosh HD and click on 'repair disk'. If any changes are made click on repair disk again until you get a clear pass. Restart as normal from the Apple menu.
