Purchased songs dont copy to ipod

heyas! my purchased songs at itunes dont update to my ipod! in fact.. i had them in my ipod but they dont know why were deleted (but i still have them on my pc and in the "purchase" folder) but i cant update them again to ipod!

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Have you played the songs in iTunes for a few seconds? This will authorize them. Now sync your iPod. Do they transfer?
If not, make sure everything is up to date on your computer and iPod..
iTunes
iPod Updater
Updating iPod's Software
If that doesn't work, in iTunes, go to advanced-->deauthorize computer. Now play the songs in iTunes. It will ask for your account information (from the iTunes Music Store). Enter that. Now play a few purchased songs for a few seconds. Sync your iPod. Do the songs transfer now?
Try the steps listed here as well...

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • New Purchased Songs Wont Sync to Ipod

I got a new computer and still had my old ipod so to keep the songs I have from getting erased I authorized my computer for my old ipod and everything was fine. All my purchased songs from my ipod synced onto my library great except for the songs I had loaded from CDs because those only show up on my ipod, but I didn't care so much. Well NOW I purchased 10 new songs from itunes store and they show up and play just fine in my library, but I can't get them to sync onto my ipod ! HELP PLZ !

I forgot to add whenever I ask it to sync it pops up asking me to: erase & sync or transfer purchase songs like I did before so I always transfer purchased songs but it doesn't do anything and im afraid if i select erase and sync it will erase everything...i dont know what to do !

  • Purchased music not copying to IPod

I've recently purchased several songs from ITunes. The songs downloaded fine to ITunes but they won't copy to my IPod. When I try to move them to my IPod, it says "Syncing IPod. Do not disconnect." But it never copies. I have a few other songs from a previous purchase which copy fine so the problem seems to be with the new ones only. It says that my IPod software is up to date and ITunes is up to date also. Anyone have this problem, or more importantly, have any idea why this is happening?
    Thanks!

  • Not All Purchased Music Will Copy To iPod

Some of my purchased music will not copy to my iPod, giving my the "...your computer is not authorized..." message. The "uncopyable" will play on my computer. I've de-authorized and re-authorized this computer. I've reloaded the iTunes software. Any help out there?

Yeah, that happens a lot, but there can be all sorts of fixes for it.
What version iTunes? (itunes > help > about, let it scroll up)
What is the date of the iPod Updater? The newest is 2006-03-23.

Have you played at least a few seconds of a song from the album that won't transfer?

  • NO songs being copied to iPod-HELP!

(This probably isn't a simple, obvious fix—I'm a pretty technical guy.)
Okay, so I have a 4th generation 64 GB ipod touch running iOS 6.1.3, and a 2011 15" MacBook Pro running OS Lion (10.7.4) and iTunes 10.6.3.  I have about 20 GB of music, all of which I keep synced onto my iPod (except a couple unchecked songs).  I have a huge iPhoto library out of which about 6 GB gets copied to my iPod.  I have around 70 GB of movies, out of which I had synced around 20 GB to my iPod.  Plus I had about 8 GB of audiobooks.
All of this was already on my iPod and was working fine.  Occasionally slow, but no particular glitches and all the music and videos were THERE.  My iPod only had about 1.5 GB of free space.
(If it makes a difference, I always sync via cable, never via WiFi, and I don't use iCloud.)
A couple days ago, for no obvious reason (no changes I could recall), the "other" category of usage on my iPod, as seen via iTunes, jumped from around 1.8 GB to about 47 GB.  Then iTunes complained that it "couldn't sync" with my iPod, because there wasn't enough space.  (I hadn't added anything, except for having updated a couple small apps on the iPod directly via WiFi.)
I didn't bother trying to fix it until I found that my music on the iPod was all messed up—nothing showed up under "artists", "albums", "audiobooks" and all "playlists" were empty—there was just a full list under "songs".  But when I tried shuffling, only 360 songs showed up instead of the 4000-some I had.  (And to make things weirder, when I tapped on another song in the list, I then had 361 songs in shuffle.)
I looked online in several places and finally concluded the giant "other" usage might have been from an interrupted sync.  (Although I don't recall interrupting any sync—whatever.)  So I unchecked all my music, videos and audiobooks (just with the big, overall checkboxes on the iPod syncing panels in iTunes).  The "usage" chart on iTunes then showed that the iPod would be nearly filled with the "other" data (47 GB or so) but it wouldn't be over capacity.  I clicked "apply", and after around a 15 minute sync, the "other" came back down to about 2 GB.
This is where things went south.
When I rechecked the music (skipping the videos and audiobooks because I was in a hurry to get my music on there), first iTunes recopied all my photos one by one—not sure why; I never actually deleted them (although I had unchecked the box and checked it again while seeing how to free up space for "other").  Then, nothing.
I've tried about 8 more times to sync all my music, or just part of my music, or any of my videos.  iTunes goes through the whole sync process but copies nothing.  Says "sync complete" or whatever it says.  No music or video on my iPod.  I tried restarting my computer and restarting my iPod, after closing all active apps.  No go.  I even tried restoring the iPod from the last backup—(which, of course, was a backup from after the trouble had started, since iTunes doesn't give me a choice to keep earlier backups when it syncs).  That affected exactly nothing.
I am at a total loss for what to do here.  Any ideas at all?  Or any details I should add (ha ha)?
    Please help!

An "other" that large usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.  Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.
    To restore from backup see:

To restore to factory settings/new iPod see:

  • Purchased Songs wont Sync to ipod?

Iv'e just recived a 8G ipod nano for my birthday with an itunes gift voucher. I purchased some music and then tried to sync it with my ipod but on the computer it comes up with a message box saying that it 'cannot transfer select songs because you are not autherised to play them on this computer". So I went in to the "store" option in the itunes browser and selected "autherise" but it then tells me its already autherised. So I tried to sync again but it came up with the 'you are not authrised to play this song' message again. It's strange because i can still play it on my computer but it wont sync to my ipod. What can I do?

    Hey there,
Have you tried deauthorizing the computer first and then authorizing it again to see if that takes care of anything? Give it shot. Hope it helps.

  • Purchased songs on iPod. Sync with computer, purchased songs are gone from iPod and not on computer.

I recently purchased several songs off of the iTunes app on my iPod touch 4Gen. When I plugged my ipod into my computer a few days later, something must've happened because now the songs don't appear on my iPod or computer, and when I look them up on iTunes it doesn't have the 'play' option it does for other songs I've purchased. I have the reciepts, and I'd really rather not buy my music all over again. Any help please?

What you should have done was review something like the user tip Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device before syncing with a new computer. Depending on your region you may well be able to download your past iTunes purchases from the store, however you have lost the chance to recover other content. Links in the tip.

  • Transferring purchased digital DVD copy to iPod

I recently purchased a DVD (Juno) with a redeemable code to download a digital copy for use with an iPod. I followed the instructions, redeemed the code, and was able to download it into iTunes. However, when I try to sync it to my iPod (30G 5th generation), I am told that I'm not authorized to play it on my computer. What's going on, and how can I get the copy I bought to sync?

I am having an exact same problem! How do you "authorize" the movie, please?

  • Purchased songs skipping over on ipod

i recently downloaded the newest version of itunes (7.7) and after i connected my ipod to itunes, i noticed that all the songs i had purchased from the itunes would skip over on my ipod. the song title, artist name and even album artwork would show up for a second, and then skip to the next song. my ipod software is up to date and i even tried recreating my itunes, restoring my ipod to factory settings. nothing ive done seems to help. anybody know what else i can do to fix it?

Start iTunes and go to the Store menu on top and Deauthorize your computer. Now play one of the songs that aren't working (the purchased ones) and when prompted enter your Apple ID and password. Now Resync the songs to your iPod.

  • ITunes says songs are copied to iPod, but they're not there

I'll preface this by saying I'm a newer iPod user (since March of this year).
I added a bunch of songs to iTunes tonight on our other computer that has XP. It said the iPod was updated and could be removed from the USB (first time it's ever said that, usually it says "iPod Update Complete" on iTunes, but "Do Not Disconnect" on the iPod). I go to listen to my iPod tonight, and none of the songs I added to iTunes are there -- not one. I'm not sure if this is related, but a couple days ago half of my songs in iTunes had the exclamation point next to them indicating the file was gone; search of the computer turned up nothing (most of the songs I added tonight were the ones lost).
    Is it something I did?

    Hello,
I am not sure, but please have a try
f your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter:
    -- Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management
-- Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”
-- Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused (Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” or something similar)
    -- Safely eject the iPod
    -- Reboot the PC

  • Can't sync purchased songs and games to iPod. Plz help.

When i try to Sync my iPod it tells me that some songs cannot be sent becuase it i am not authorized to. I authorized my computer and it tells me the same thing every time i try to sync my I Pod. Can someone tell me how to properly sync my I pod and allow my songs to be sent.

Have you tried playing the tracks, at least for a few seconds, before trying to transfer them to the iPod? Sometimes you have to play the item for a bit before the authorization "takes".
    Hope this helps.
