Nope....once you buy it, it's yours and can be used on any device AS LONG as all devices share the same iTunes account.

    I'm not sure if this is me or the App.
    Today I purchased a fair amount of media on almost every Apple device I own! Some songs on my iPhone, a few TV shows on my iPad and AppleTV as well as some movies and complete albums on my Mac Pro.
    All the purchases from my Mac Pro show in my PING feed, but none of the others do. I thought this might be a sync issue, but even after coming home and synching - the only purchases that are "fed" to my "feed" are those from the Mac Pro (main library).
    Obviously, they are all using the same account and such. The only "odd" thing that happened was that when I went to rent a movie on my AppleTV, it failed and said it had a problem connecting to the iTunes Store - even though I was able to watch previews. A quick sign-out/sign-in solved this and I was able to rent (but it still didn't show in PING).
    Anyone else getting the lack of feed from mobile purchases?

    I purchased an album yesterday on my iPad before I even looked at ping and it showed up on my ping feed. I still can not see ping on my iPad. Has anyone else been able to do so?
    However, it does appear to be capturing my music purchases.

    Not sure I understand the question... if you're trying to download apps to your Mac that you've downloaded to your iOS device, note that the Mac and the iPhone/iPad use two completely separate operating systems, therefore you need to purchase/download separate app versions for each OS.

  • IPad and iPhone Remote app no longer see my AppleTV (1st Generation)

    For months, I've been using the Remote app from my iPad to control my first generation AppleTV. When I got an iPhone 4 and got the Remote app for it, I tried to do the same thing, but now AppleTV will not recognize my iPhone 4, and no longer recognizes my iPad. All it will allow me to use is the ****** little remote that came with it.
    How do I fix this?
    Notes:
    AppleTV is synchronized with my iTunes library
    Home Sharing on the PC is turned on
    Remote App tells me to "turn on home sharing on the AppleTV from the Computers section of the Settings menu" but no such option exists.

    AppleTV1 doen't use Home Sharing.  Try this:
    Apple TV (1st generation)
    Connect iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to a Wi-Fi network that is connected to the local network that your Apple TV also connected to.
    Open the Remote app on your mobile device.
    Select Add an iTunes Library in the Remote settings screen. Remote will then display a 4 digit passcode.
    On Apple TV, select Settings from the main menu, select General and then Remotes.
    Select the name of your iPhone or iPod touch.
    Enter the 4 digit passcode. Use the volume up/down keys on the Apple Remote (Infrared) to change the number that is displayed and the track next/back keys to switch digits.
    Click Done.
    Remote app will be paired with Apple TV and you can begin browsing your library using Remote and select a piece of content to play.

    IPAD and IPHONe 4S apps, as appropriate, are present on both devices via ICloud however new MacBookPro, while ICloud enabled, does not receive any apps present on IPAD and IPHONE...is this the way it is or have I not done something to bring in the apps to my MacBook?

    The Apps that you are trying to synch, were they already on your iPhone and iPad when you purchased your Macbook Pro? Existing Apps won't synch automatically, only new apps that are downloaded AFTER you set up your Macbook Pro on iCloud. After verifying iClous setup and settings, try downloading a brand new app and see if it synchs to all of your devices.
    The apps on your mobile devices can still be put on your Mac, you will just need to manually download them from the App Store on your MB Pro.

    I have a Jquery Mobile app working fine in IOS6, upgrading to IO7 on the Ipad and Iphone the app is crashing when returning lists of data that previously worked. Our app works exclusivley with the local storage code in all modern browers allowing offline usage. Seems like the IOS7 upgrade is disrupting this somehow. I
    cannot see the Local Storage icon in the web developerm, I am expecting this.
    I can load around 40 list items into JqueryMobile, after that Safari crashes and the Wed Developer disappears. Any thoughts welcome.

    This appears to be a known bug , which is REALLY annoying me. Whoevers idea it was to disable cookies by default should be shot! I'm still fumbling around trying to get this going, but its not prooving easy...

  • ICloud on iPad and iPhone GarageBand

    Hi,
    A week ago or so, suddenly my iPad and iPhone Garageband Apps lost conenction with my iCloud and all the Garage Band Projects I had stored there.
    The App kept saying: connecting with iCloud but never connected.
    I decided to delete and reinstall the App in both devices, but onece done so, it was not fixed.
    Even worse: The iPhone App is not working anymore. It starts, stays on a black screen for a while and it closes.
    The iPad new instal works, but still does not connect with my iCloud files.
    What is wrong with all this? I hope I can recover my work stored on the iCloud.

    I recommend this part of the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here https://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/application/.
    If you get to step 3 I recommend closing ALL the apps. Here is step 2 to get you started:
    See if there is an updated version of the app on your iPhone.
    Open the App Store and tap Updates. If updates are available, tap Update All. iPhone will then download and install the app updates.
    If prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information. iPhone will then download and install the app updates.

    (I think the daughter got he better end of the deal!)   I believe if you change the password and user id one of the devices it will stop that from occurring. But I'm not the one to tell you how to do it; someone like "Illaass" (Illaass seems to know how to correct / fix almost anything!) will know how if you don't. Just look for the "cat" icon.

    Syncing between iOS devices should work automatically once you enable it for each app in its Settings. Syncing between iDevices and your desktop, at this time, is more comlicated.

    We are users, not Apple. We cannot trace your phone, and neither can Apple.
    Please change every password you have. Posting your email addresses and Apple IDs on a public forum is insane. Hopefully a Mod will edit them out for you.

    Yes, under the Settings for the store, you can turn off the auto download for purchases, that way if you purchase an app on another device it will not automatically download on that device.  You would need to do this on both your iPad and iPhone.

    And just in case you were wondering, installing one purchased copy on all the Macs you own is specifically called out as allowed in the Mac OS X Lion license.
    If you do not want to download multiple times, just copy the Applications -> Install Lion app to a safe place BEFORE you do the first install.  Then copy that copy to any Mac you own where you want to install Lion.

    Do the apps show as installed on the Purchased tab in the App Store app ? If they show as installed, then have you got any restrictions set on Settings > General > Restrictions (e.g. Allowed Content > Apps) that might be hiding them ?
    You could try closing the App Store app completely and then seeing if it downloads after you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e.not with the App Store app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    You could also try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
    And try logging out, and then back in, with your iTunes account : Settings > Store

    That is determined by what type of disk that it is. It may be a disk that only allows you to install Windows on your Dell computer and would not allow Windows to be installed on a Boot Camp partitition or as a virtual machine in an app such as VirtualBox on your Mac. If that is the case, you would need to purchase a retail Windows install disk.
