Push Notifications on home screen

does anybody know how to send this kind of Push-Notification like eg. Wired does?

As I mentioned, third-party push will be available in the Viewer Builder soon. If you need to add it right away, contact your Adobe rep for details. I'll ask around about wired's process.

E-mail Notification On Home Screen 5800 v.30....wh...

This so called feature is not available after updating so a hard reset is required for it to be seen which i did do.
I then restored a back up and it disappeared.I then tried 2 back up's, one with settings and one without and it still wasn't anywhere to be seen.
So, if you really really really want E-mail notification on Home Screen then you'll have to start the phone from scratch, excellent work there Nokia.....why implement a feature that disappears after restoring a back up from your own software (PC suite)!

For all of you who consider hard resetting the phone and starting it from scratch, so that the email notification on the homescreen appears: it works just fine, even if you use the Nokia Email instead of the built in email client!

Unwanted 'New Email' notification on home screen

Havin read some of the posts on this board concerning email notification messages, i went to
menu-tools-settings-general-personalisation-homescreen-mode settings-homescreen applications-enabledapplications, and unticked both email1 and email2 notifications, and yet I still get the message every time I recieve an email on the mail for exchange.
any suggestions?
also it does seem pretty absurd the setttings are buried away in these menus to such an extent you have to look it up online to sort the navigation...

I agree with you. The Nokia Messaging gives you the push mail, but the notification on the phone is poor. You have to open the Nokia Mail app on the 5800 to see the message. Without V30 if new mail arrives and you miss the beep there is no indication from the home screen of new mail.
Even with V30 unfortunately you can only see the most recent email that has arrived on the home screen- and for some reason it still shows it as unopened once you've read it i.e. the closed envelope rather then opened.
FYI- you can turn the email notification on the home screen off.
I'm still amazed that there isn't a unified app that brings SMS, Mail, Chat etc all into the same window. So you only have to check in one place for incoming communication. Maybe there's a third party solution out there??
Maybe one of the other Nokia phones has this, E72?

On the home screen on my IPad Air should the number of new emails display? At present I have to go into my mailbox to check if I have any new emails. It would be nice if I was notified from the home screen. Thank you.

Email Notification on Home Screen

Hi everyone, todays N97 problem appears to be as follows..........
After going through half a dozen email clients i finally went back to the default one installed in the phone and for the past 4 days i have been using it without any problems what so ever. Today though, after recieving a new email, i retrieved it from my inbox, read it and deleted it (phone memory) as i have done previous days. Todays problem seems to be that the new email notification on the home screen is still there after deleting the last new email. Even after i mark all the emails in my inbox and delete them and then re-connect to my inbox they appear again, this has only started to happen as of today.
Ive seen in other forum posts that this cant be de-activated? How can this be the case if i have been using the client for 4 days and im only having this problem now? Its a notification, so technically of course it can be removed or stopped.
Please please please help with this solution, the only one i can find at the moment is switching the handset on and off which isnt a solution what so ever.

exactly.. This was very unwelcome.. I undrstand the contact bar widget has limited space to put everythin we want.. But in shortcut bar home theme y did they remove email notification.. Tht was very unwise..
Moreover we should be able to choose what we'd need on the home screen.
Moreover the Contacts bar home screen widget takes an awful amount of RAM! Abt 5-6MB i guess.. Lets see what v60, as rumored, has to offer..

UNHIDE/HIDE MESSAGE NOTIFICATION ON HOME SCREEN

I currently have a Nokia E63. I have hidden the message notification box on my home screen by using the backspace button. Does anyone know how to get (unhide) that box?

It's amazing how the Nokia guide book tells you:
"To view the notifications, scroll to a box. Each box is only visible if there are items in it. TO hide the boxes, press the backspace key."
And then there is nothing on how to unhide the boxes.
So I found the solution. I'm getting a Blackberry. Thanks for unsupport Nokia.

Push notifications unlock iPad screen, leads to battery drain.

When my iPad receives textual push notifications (generally from Prowl, but also from other apps like Delivery Status Touch, etc.) the iPad screen wakes up. Unfortunately, it also sometimes unlocks the screen rather than displaying the notification bubble on the lock screen. I have my iPad set to never auto-lock (I use it as a second display and other things during business hours).
When this happens during the middle of the night while I'm sleeping, my iPad turns on and doesn't turn off, potentially leading to an impact on battery and screen life. (Luckily I plug in my iPad to charge at night, but still, not everyone does.)
Am I alone in this problem?

Based on your preference stetting and the other responses I am seeing here, perhaps my first comment was too oblique to be understood. I have a WiFi only model and simply turn off this connection to both save battery timr and to prevent such notifications from reaching my iPad. As I do not own a WiFi + 3G model, I do not know if it is possible to turn off both WiFi and 3G connections altogether but assumed it might be possible. If not, then there is still Steve's option.

How do i remove facebook notifications from home screen

when i normally get them i click on them view my facebook and icon dissapears well ive got 2 that wont ive tried deleting them mark as opened nothing can any one help

Open Terminal and enter the following command:
launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist
Next type the following command to kill NotificationCenter:
killall NotificationCenter
Finally, quit out of Terminal and return to Finder

Re:Push notification error when publishing a new folio from DPS

I have run into a problem when publishing a new folio to our app from DPS Folio Producer. I published the new folio without a probelm, but when I pus the "Notify" button, I get an error message that an error has occured while sending the push notification. The push certificate has expired and that to upload a valid push notification, I should rebuild my app in DPS App Builder and to retry sending push notification. (See screen grab).
This is our first push notification for a recently approved app. I worked through all the instruction to create push notifications through DPS. And we tested everything and it was fine.
Our app is a free subscription, multi-folio app in newsstand hosted on the DPS server with DPS push notifications.
What am I doing wrong? I really don't want to have to bebuild/resubmit the app to iTunes to get this to work. It seems odd that the push certificate would be expired, we just created it last month.

Hi,
Direct saves to the server from MS Office over Webdav are not recommended when the versioning mode is Manual. The reason is that the actions of checking out & checking in the document need to be done from the Team Collaboration client and are not done from within MS Office.
Rather, set the versioning mode to Auto or Disabled and it should work just fine.

Ads in notifications and icons added to home screen.

This is happening on my wife's phone. Notifications that are ads and icons to a different market added to her home screen. I assume it is an app that is doing it, but I cannot figure out which. Any tips on finding this thing or stopping the behavior?

Use the Addons Detector app that can be found and downloaded from the Google Play Store. It scans and determines what apps have push ads that cause the notification ads and icons to appear. Download it, run the scan, tap Addons, and uninstall anything that shows up in the Push Notifications section.

IPad 2 push notifications don't work on home wifi network

I have a new iPad 2 and I'm trying to use imo.im for instant messaging. however, in most cases, I do not get push notifications for new messages at all, and when they do appear, they are delayed by several minutes. I installed the push test app and am getting the same results. Usually, it will work for a couple minutes if I turn off the wifi and re-enable it on the iPad, but then it stops working again.
I have changed the dns servers on both the ipad and my router to use google's servers, but that still doesn't fix it. Push notifications do seem to work on other wifi networks, so it seems like it's something with my router, but I can't figure out what it is.

I'd like to add one more data point. I tried the exact same tests on my iPhone 4, but did not get the exact same results. First of all, all push notifications work fine on my iPhone using 3G. When I connected to my home wifi network where I experience the problem with my iPad, push notifications worked, but were slightly delayed compared to the 3G connection.
So it seems like the problem is on the iPad when it's connected to this specific network. Also, after using it more, the push notifications seem to come and go randomly, so it's hard to predict when they will stop working.

Description: I am developing a PO approval application with 3 levels of approval. The HWC application is based on the push notification ( DCN with payload ). When a PO ( Purchase Order ) is created/modified the end user will get the notification. Once the first 2 levels of approval is done from the mobile devices the notification should reach the 3rd level for approval. And Conditional Based Users only View there Profiles, If an User1 Approved PO Approval then only User2 Will get Push Notification but for User3 it will not Visible, Oncethe User2 Approved then Only User3 will get Push Notifications and these 3 Profiles have to be log in Based on Condition Name & Conditional Success Screen Name.
Question: How to set to which user the notification should reach. In the "to" field of JSON when I am providing "supAdmin" means the notification will reach all the devices who has the application. Once a PO is created the notification should reach only to user in the first level. Once he approves the PO, then only it should reach to the user in the 2nd level. And finally 3rd level.
Here Conditional Name is the best way to Log In or is there any other way to show the User based Log in Details, Because Here I am showing a List of Items Based On Log In, and Based On Log In user Has to view there List of Products and Status.
How to manage this situation.

Yes, DNS is is fundamental for networks, even for Windows networks. The DNS is working well for the existing Windows network and there are no problems in distributing certificates etc.
There are more than 150 users and 180 devices on the network without DNS problems.
I don't know how to discover a DNS problem... Windows works well.
DNS resolves fine... dig does it for "a" records and "ptr" records. nslookup resolves, too.
When the problem is a faulty DNS, why does the usage of users/devices from OD work with Profile Manager?
Renaming and/or migrating the ActiveDirectory is not possible. First, I want to be sure that there is a faulty DNS.
The .local TLD is not optimal for Bonjour/mDNS but I can't believe that there is no workaround

Notifications and control panel do not work on either the app screen or home screen

On my home screen and in apps, I can not swipe up or down to release the notifications or control panel. It has worked earlier today, however not any more.
I can, however, access them in the lock screen, andin settings, they are allows to open in apps. It should always allow me to access them in the home screen though, so I do not know what has happened.
What do I have to do to access the control panel in the home screen, and why is it like this?

Do you have a screen protector or case that would interfere with swiping?
If so remove them as a test.
Otherwise:
