Put Phone in Freezer???
Every time I have powered down my phone I have been unable to restart it without putting it in the freezer for a few minutes. This bizarre little workaround has worked, without fail, including recently at an airport in Minnesota where I had to make due with a snowbank. While the workaround is nice, I sure would like to know what's up and if this is something that can be fixed. After all, I might like to travel to warm climates one day.

Wasn't just pulling it out of thin air, it's a conclusion that several users verified to work. May not be the best for the phone but, desperate times call for desperate measures.

hi , can someone guide me to restore my iphone? I was downloading ios 6 but i think it was stuck and after that my phone just freeze with the apple icon. - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.

I have changed my Iphone once last year. My iphone has being playing up for the best part of 6 months. It Keeps deleting all my music of the phone. it freezes and will not allow me to turn it on or off. if i am in the middle of an app it will randomly shut it down and turn the phone off totally (even if it is charged.) It will not charge properly, it has to be in a exact position to charge and even then go's off and on. I thought this my be my charger but the charger works fine on another phone. it will not allow texts to come through properly and sometimes will not not let me ring people it just freezes and i have to turn it off and on a couple of times in order for it to work. it will not let me update apps and the silent button is not silent it still go's of on ringer.The keyboard will freeze up not allowing me to type anything. It wants me to pay £126.44 for it to be repaire when i have nothing to do with why its not working!

Loading the latest OS on my Iphone 4 caused the phone to freeze and stop working. I get error message 4013 when trying to restore the phone.

Check USB connections

Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.

I LOVE my Droid X. However, my phone started freezing occasionally. I had to remove the battery and reboot almost every time. Verizon tech said it wasn't a known issue. They sent me a temporary "replacement" (that means used) phone while I wait for the new one to ship. I got it last night and this one is doing the same thing. In addition, this one keeps rebooting itself. It is very strange. I don't think it's anything I'm doing because I've never had any problem like this with other phones. Most of the time I'm just making a call or listening to music. One time I was just entering my contacts. That time I got the "blue screen of death" and didn't think it was going to live. Has anyone else had this trouble? I keep thinking maybe it really is a defect in some of the phones. Thanks.
I have yet to install a Task Killer and I have yet to feel like I need one. My phone has never slowed down or frozen. I do periodically check (like once or twice a day) the open applications manually to see if someone is running that I don't want and one time Pandora was still running even though I wasn't using it anymore - so I closed it. Even then, it wasn't slow or anything.
My co-worker with a Droid Incredible uses ATK and constantly complains about it freezing or slowing down. I told her I didn't install it and that a lot of people online say they are unnecessary and she told me the Verizon rep installed it on her phone in the store and told her she needed it.
Shame. She was going to uninstall ATK and see how it does. I have yet to see her this morning to see if there has been any change, but I'll post back once I see her. -

Interrupted update put phone in recovery mode.
An interrupted update to iOS 7.1.1 put phone in recovery mode. The phone told me to connect to iTunes and when I did it only gave me the option of restoring the phone. The problem is though, that the phone hadn't been backed up in awhile and not at all to the computer I had to connect it to. So is there a way I can reboot without restoring the iPhone?
You can restore the iPhone from an iCloud backup or from an iTunes backup once you're back at your computer.
I know that doesn't help too much, but it is an option.

Glad to hear you were able to resolve the freezing issue on your DROID Incredible! I would be happy to see if we can restore your contacts.
I know you mentioned you didn't have an active Backup Assistant account at the time of the update, however, did you have a Google account setup on your device prior to the update? If so, check on www.gmail.com to see if your contacts are backed up in the "Contacts" section. If they are you can just readd the Google account to your device and enable the "Sync Contacts", and all of your contacts will be synced back to your device.
