QR Code Reader app resets device

I have installed three QR code reader applications from three different companies, and I get the same result from each. The apps successfully downloaded to my 8520, but when I use the app to "snap" the QR code, my 8520 just resets itself, without taking me to a mobile landing page or whatever that qr code was supposed to do.
My phone does not like QR code reader apps! Does anyone know why this would happen? On the last app I installed, from the BB App page, I sent an email to the developer asking for help, but have not yet heard back from them.

I am having some issues though.
Running in Flash CS6, I have the .fla with your .ane in the library path. I then have both reader.as and Scanner.as in the same folder as the .fla. I am getting the error.
"The name of package com.sbhave.nativeExtensions.zbar does not reflect the location of this file ....."
This usualy means I need to place the Scanner.as file in a certain file structuire dictated by the rror message. However when I nest it there then the error is that it cant find Scanner.as
Any ideas?

I have the latest IPod Touch, which can only access the Internet at a WiFi location.
Is there a QR Code Reader/Scanner App than can capture and save a QR Code when I am on the road, so that I can load the link when I reach a WiFi destination?

Yes, it is possible.
You can save the scanned link in the app's History for access later on.
Scanning is performed locally and does not require internet connection.

QR Code reader issues

I've been getting more and more business cards with qr codes on them. I bought a couple of different qr code reader apps, but none of them seem to work. In order to get the code large enough for the code reader to recognize it, I have to hold it so close to the phone that the image gets too blurry to read. If I hold it further away it is clear, but too small for the reader to se the code. Is anyone else having this problem? Is this just an inherent problem with the the whole idea of qr code readers on the phone? Any help or comments will be appreciated.

I'm using the "Barcodes v 1.0" from ZXing, which seems to work rather well. This application is available from the iTunes App Store:

I want to make a qr code reader app does anyone have a tutorial on how to make one?

You need to tell a bit more.
What expertise do you have? For what platform do you want to write the app? (As if we can't guess -- * sigh *) At what point do you need help to git started? Can you actually program anything at all to begin with?
Source code for the actual QR code reading part that all of the other available QR code reader apps use is freely available, and I'm not even bothering to type it into Google just to give you the url.

Implementing QR Code Reader to Flash AIR Android App?

Hi everyone!
I am developing an Android application using AIR on Adobe Flash CS5.
I am still a beginner to actionscript 3.0 as I am more used to actionscript 2.0
I am currently looking for a way to implement a QR code reader to my app which works in conjunction with the hardware camera of the android device.
I am not entirely sure if AIR is capable of doing this, but I have found the following website by luck:

The writer seem to have accomplished a QR decoder application via Flex.
I am not too sure what Flex really is neither, all that I know is that Flex is a development kit for making mobile/desktop appilcation.
But there seems to be some sort of relation between AIR and Flex and there is even a selectable FlexComponentBase component in Flash CS5.
Now, is it possible to use the ZXing Library in my AIR project? If so how can I go about acheving this?

Adobe AIR or Flash in Browser is like JVM that can execute some code.
Actionscript X.X is like the Java language itself
Flex is a component framework like AWT or SWING which can give you readymade UI components that you can re-use.
Flash CS or Flex Builder can be compared to intelliJ or Eclipse [i.e. IDEs for developing applications]
Having said that, if you are still looking for android QR reader solution:
I have written ANE version for ZBar that works on Android and iOS over same ActionScript API. It works similar to CameraUI i.e. I open Native Activity/ViewController that scans and sends the data to AIR app as an async event.
I have developed this for one of my projects. If anyone is interested revert back on this thread.
ANE can be compared to JNI in Java world

Sharing a "Flattened" copy of a fillable PDF from a mobile device - Reader App

Ever since the latest iOS update, our fillable reader extended PDF's are not working properly in the Reader App. I created fillable forms and save as a "reader extended" file. When we open the file on the Reader App, we can fill in the form and sign, but when we go to email the form it attaches the blank form to an email. It does not offer the "Share Original" or "Flatten copy" option before going into the email. We use this feature for mobile devices to sign contracts on site vs. going on a laptop. If I open a normal PDF file, a non fillable form, I can email the original or flattended copy from the reader app but this is not needed on a normal PDF. How can I share the flattened copy of a fillable form from the reader app on the iPhone/iPAD? Is this issue going to be resolved or are there settings I need to change in the PDF file before saving it for reader extended?

As you mentioned, Reader for iOS version 11.2 does not offer the E-mail Document dialog with the two options for Reader Extended PDFs. We will investigate if this is a new defect that was accidentally introduced in Reader 11.2.
Regarding the other issue, please note that a PDF form that is sent as "Original" does not become a blank form.
The problem is that many non-Adobe PDF viewers, such as Apple Mail (the default email app on iOS) preview feature, Apple iBooks, Apple Preview for Mac OS X (desktop), do not render form fields or comments correctly.
A workaround is to make sure to open an "Original" (non-flatten) PDF document in Adobe Reader. For example, an email recipient (who views your "Original" PDF form in Apple Mail on iOS) can long press (press and hold) the preview of the PDF form and select Open in Adobe Reader.
We will get back to you on the issue with the E-mail Document dialog soon.

After resetting devices in Netflix, Apple TV is not finding my Netflix account

Apple TV was reporting that it couldn't connetct to Netflix and to try again later. My MacBook and Wii were fine. After several days of this, I reset my Apple TV settings and reset my devices in my Netflix account. All devices are back up, including my iPhone, except my Apple TV. Because I reset devices in Netflix I had to reenter my login and password to Netflix. This worked on other devices. Apple TV said it couldn't find my account. I reset my password in Netflix and tried again. Again, all other devices are still working, but Apple TV cannot find my account. I'm confident that I'm entering the right login and password because I did it successfully on every other device.
Ideas?

I'm having the same issue. I live on a farm and the only internet fast enough is from my phone. I've connect the hotspot, but I get that same error when I try and play something. What does work, however, is if I pull up the netflix app on my phone (a different phone from the one I am using as a hotspot), play it from there, and airplay it on the apple TV. It's a big pain and it effectively slows my connection because I'm streaming it through the hotspot onto my phone and then pushing that back through the network onto the Apple TV. Any way to play it directly from Apple TV??

When will Adobe Reader for Mobile Devices support 3D PDF files?

There are two basic varieties of LiveCycle XFA...Static XFA and Dynamic XFA, which are very different in terms of their future for potential support in Adobe Reader for iOS. Which variety of XFA are you using?
Static XFA uses the PDF markup language for content and form fields, so users can view the documents in Adobe Reader for iOS, but we currently do not properly handle filling, saving, and submitting those forms. I have improving our handling of Static XFA on my roadmap, but cannot offer any specific date yet (sorry, policy plus actual uncertainty). I know that there are some other apps that partially support Static XFA, though I do not know how complete their support is. If you can even open the XFA document in Adobe Reader for iOS, it is likely Static XFA.
Dynamic XFA is effectively a JavaScript application packaged inside a PDF wrapper, which generates layout and form fields via code and requires a significant engine to support this. Support for Dynamic XFA is unfortunately not currently on our roadmap for iOS due to the nature of the technology, and our concern that any implementation we try likely will not pass Apple's restriction against installing something that allows other "apps" to be downloaded and executed from within it. The LiveCycle team is exploring solutions for our enterprise customers wanting to use Dynamic XFA from mobile devices as part of their server offering, but I cannot offer any insight here. To my knowledge, there are no applications that handle Dynamic XFA other than Adobe Reader for the desktop platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux).

Many thanks for getting back to me. A reset all fields would certainly
save a great deal of time on forms that are used over and over!
Something else that I've noticed is the fact that when you flick through
the pages of .pdf documents, there are sometimes white blank pages. You
need to scroll back and forth to get them all to load and sometimes even
after they have loaded, when you scroll back and forth again other pages
are blank.
I am using the latest Samsung Note Pro tablet with 2 x quad core
processors so I can't blame outdated technology.
Do you have any ideas as to how to solve this problem?

Honestly, these are WAGs but they're all that I can think of.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

All of the apps I have found on the App store either do not have the text to speech capability or if they have it they will only read a page at a time or simply read the text you paste into their window. I really do not understand what is so difficult about having this feature as Kindle provides it--though Amazon does not make the feature available on its iPhone 4 app.

thanks. yes i am aware of the VoiceOver feature but it is NOT the solution to my problem. as you said, it is a solution to a different set of issues. i want the text to speech ability because i there are books i need to read but do not have the time to sit down and read them and have become used to listening to them read to me either by a professional human reader or with the text to speech software on the Kindle.
I think Apple makes the best audio devices but i am really disappointed in this inexplainable shortcoming. if apple can give us siri they ought to be able to design a nice little button that i can push to turn on text to speech while i am in a document, book, magazine or webpage. clearly it is possible as apple has added the "reader" button in safari to have web pages dropped into the reader format.
thanks for your suggestion though, it is what everyone suggests but it does not address the issue.
