is It correct?
Because i still have the same problem, so my acoustic works as 2. and sound in every channel reflected in the other one as well.
Can somebody help me please? Maybe i should turn on something additional?
(Because in the game the same problem)

I suppose, it would be better if you ask this @ DriverHeaven forums ... Tril, who made this utility, knows the current state of utility and possible issues with X-Fi cards best.

Also, check if enabling/disabling bit-matched playback makes any difference.

  • Old external drive; how to check for virus?

I`ve an old external drive from the time I was a Windows PC user. I just don`t want a virus on my macbook, so I want to make sure that the drive is clean, and wipe out all the deadly ****. So, what do I do? PS, I have really important stuff in there too, so I cant just reformat the drive.
    S

Download and scan it with either Sophos or ClamXav. Not that Windows viruses can affect the Apple OS:
There are many forms of ‘Malware’ that can affect a computer system, of which ‘a virus’ is but one type, ‘trojans’ another. Using the strict definition of a computer virus, no viruses that can attack OS X have so far been detected 'in the wild', i.e. in anything other than laboratory conditions. The same is not true of other forms of malware, such as Trojans. Whilst it is a fairly safe bet that your Mac will NOT be infected by a virus, it may have other security-related problem, but more likely a technical problem unrelated to any malware threat.
You may find this User Tip on Viruses, Trojan Detection and Removal, as well as general Internet Security and Privacy, useful: The User Tip seeks to offer guidance on the main security threats and how to avoid them.

  • How to check hard drive health

My mac pro starts up and shuts down very slow. Anyone know how to check hard drive health?

Normally if you have a hard drive problem it manifests itself with delays, periodic locks-ups, I/O errors, etc.during notrmal use, not just start ups and slow downs.
Never the less, you asked how you check the health of a drive, so I'll answer.
You can check the SMART status of your drive with Disk Utility or a free tool like smartctl in the smartmontools package. Disk Utility will typically report the SMART status of your drive as "verified" or a message associated with a type of failure right in the Disk Utility window. SMART status will be reported on most internal drives and Thunderbolt drives. More elaborate SMART information can often be obtained with newer OS versions by clicking on the "info" button. SMART is a reporting technology and will only report on errors after they occur. Many in the industry are highly critical of SMART, with a recent study by Google on hard drive problems indicating that it did a poor job indicating impending problems.
Other tools such as Scannerz (http://scsc-online.com/Scannerz.html), TechTool Pro (http://www.micromat.com/products/techtool-pro) and Drive Genius (http://www.prosofteng.com/products/drive_genius.php) do, IMHO, a better job of testing because surface scans can detect errors not detected by SMART yet, and all three of them do those tests. Personally I like Scannerz myself because it's to the point, hardware testing oriented, and can expose other system problems like cable problems, whereas the others are more like swiss army knife tools with a lot of features that may or may not be of use to end users. Some of the people on this site will swear by these tools, whereas others will swear at them. All three of these also monitor SMART status in one way or another.
With software tools out of the way, I'd have to agree with all previous posts, because it doesn't sound like it's probably a hard drive problem. Yes, it possibly could be, it's just that slow start ups and shutdowns are usually caused by too many apps being saved in an "on" state. Any time the system starts, it has to re-load them and resume them as best as it can, and then any time it gets shut down it must save all that information  and this all takes time. (I'm assuming Lion or newer operating system is in use). This is often the most likely cause in Lion, Mountain Lion, and Mavericks.
There are other possibilities, but you should probably ellaborate on the problem a bit more.

  • How to check is my SATA Hard Drive in AHCI Mode?

Hey all. I'm trying to install Mac OS X (iPC distro), but it can't be done cause it always returns an error: Still missing root device. I've read that my Hard Disk must be set on AHCI mode, but I don't have an idea how to check is it set correctly or not. I didn't find the information about that in BIOS V2.4.
    I'm using  MSI K9N Neo v3 (MS-7369) -> NVIDIA Chipset
How I can find out that information?

  • Hard Drive Short DST Check: Software Error

Hard Drive Short DST Check: Software Error appears while performing Hardrive Test in HP ENVY Sleekbook 6-1090ee. Please advice on how to resolve this error

Same issue here. Only I've tride a brand new hard drive and get the same results. Within seconds of power on, it shuts off hard. Sometimes the backlight comes on and it gets to the HP logo, then bam - out go the lights!  I can go into the BIOS and stay there a long time. I run all the diags and make changes. Once, it actually stayed on and booted up. I downloaded the latest BIOS update, flashed it, and rebooted. It didn't help. Also, tried to boot to a bootable Windows 8 thumb drive. Same results, shuts down after 3 seconds. Tried many times to boot to external USB CD/DVD drive,  never succeeded.  The only error any diag reported was Hard Drive Optimized DST Check: Software Error. The fan spins at almost top speed but not immediately; it takes about two seconds after power on for it to start. I don't know, but that seems to be a clue. The only time I had a successful boot, the fan didn't engage at top speed, but a few notches slower.

How to check ink levels of a 4620 using windows 8.1

    Hi krmoss,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I see that you would like to learn how to check the ink levels on your Officejet 4620 printer.
The steps on how to check the estimated ink levels can be found in your User Guide on page 74 in the section titled “To check the estimated ink levels from the printer control panel”.   If you have installed the full feature software and driver for your printer onto your computer you can open up the HP Solution Center and check the from there as well.

If instanceKey IsNot Nothing Then Return True
                Return False
'    For Each instanceName In instanceKey .GetValueNames()

  • How to check for updates on SCM packages?

    Hey guys,
I wondered for some time now how to check for updates on SCM packages, i.e. -git
or -svn ones. Updates for binary packages are automatically updated by pacman,
no problem there. Checking for updates on non-SCM packages from the AUR is
easily done with one of the various helper tools available (personally, I use
    slurpy).
However, SCM packages can change without their PKGBUILD changing, so I'm not
notified that I should recompile and update them.
Is there a "proper" way of doing this? Am I missing something?
    Thanks in advance!

If your system is booting then u can say that your bootblks are installed.Usually BootBlks are present in 0 & 1 slice of UFS Filesystem
    /usr/platform/platform-name/lib/fs/ufs
directory where ufs boot objects reside.
An x86 FDISK partition for the Solaris software begins with a one-cylinder boot slice, which contains the partition boot program (pboot) in the first sector, the standard Solaris disk label and volume table of contents (VTOC) in the second and third sectors, and the bootblk program in the fourth and subsequent sectors. When the FDISK partition for the Solaris software is the active partition, the master boot program (mboot) reads the partition boot program in the first sector into memory and jumps to it. It in turn reads the bootblk program into memory and jumps to it. Regardless of the type of the active partition, if the drive contains multiple FDISK partitions, the user is given the opportunity to reboot another partition.

  • May I know how to check whether my WWAN is HSDPA or EV-DO Verizon?

Hi I just bought a new IBM Lenovo Thinkpad X61. The type is 7675-4KU.
May I know how to check the WWAN is HSDPA or EV-DO Verizon?
After I install the driver, how should I do to connect to internet using WWAN??
    Thank You.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

All X61's have the SIM slot, whether they have a WWAN card or not.
You would also see the WWAN card under Vista: right click Computer > Properties > Device Manager > Network adapters.
If the Advanced button under ThinkVantage System Information is disabled, either something is wrong with your ThinkVantage Productivity Center setup, or you have a permissions problem.
I doubt that you have a WWAN card. Your system does not have one by default. You would have had to ask for one to be added when you bought it.
    I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

"There isnt any item in the utilities file.....seem that i deleted all the items in the utilities"
I'm not sure why you would do that. Perhaps that's why you've had problems with following other people's instructions. If you reformat the drive, you'll lose all of your data. Accordingly, you should back up your drive. Perhaps you could recover the deleted file...oh, that's right, you've deleted the utility that could do that for you. If you haven't thrown out the useless DVDs that you received with your computer, you could reinstall the system. On the other hand, your investigation into the display manufacturer won't do anything for you, with the possibility of making you even more anxious than you already are. Perhaps you should just use your computer for the purpose that it was originally intended.
