Query Tables Does Not Fill Down Formulas When Refreshed

I have used external data queries for several years, connecting to a variety of data sources, but most frequently to SQL server 2005 using MS Query and ODBC. Anyway, in Excel 2007, when I refresh my queries and the data range adds new
rows to the query table, the formluas do not fill down past the previous extent of the data range. These are not external queries converted from a previous version of Excel; I built them in Excel 2007, and the issue persists across multiple workbooks.
To answer the inevitble suggestions:
1) The formulas are definitely in the query tables, not adjacent.
2) "Extend data range formats and formulas" is enabled in the advanced tab of Excel options.
I've found threads on other sites where users had similar problems, but have not seen a satisfactory solution or even a good response to their inquiries. Any ideas?

I have the same issue with excel 2010.  To answer Ryan's last question,  Excel does seem to consider all the added rows as begin part of the table.   On the pre 2007 queries, there was an option under 'External data properties'
to specify whether you wanted the formulas to copy down to the new rows. When this option was selected, it worked without fail.  Under 2007 and 2010 this option no longer appears, but most of the time the formulas do copy down properly, but eventually
something happens to cause this to stop occuring.  The only fix I have found is to recreatet the whole query again.  It then works for awhile and then stops working at some point. I wish I could isolate what causes it to stop, but I haven't been
able to figure it out.
Same with me and Excel 2010.  The help refers to the option, but my dialog box does not have it.  (Another option that has disappeared is the ability to get column headers derived from the returned query.)
Excerpt from help:
On the Data tab, in the Connections group, click
Properties.
In the External Data Range Properties dialog box, select the
Fill down formulas in columns adjacent to data check box.

  • Frm- 40505 Unable to query (table does not exist)

    Hey,
I have a form which has two blocks that are master and detail blocks. On the form, there are 3 fields that allow the query. If there is record found in the master then it works fine. If nothing found, it shows "query causes no records" which is also fine. But afterwards, no matter what I type in to query, it always show frm-40505. Oracle error, unable to perform query. I click "display error", it shows:
    SELECT ROWID,LOC,INV_NUMBER,RECNO,FACTOR,C_DESC,ADJ_TYPE,CODE,AMT FROM OE_INVOICE_ADJ
WHERE (LOC=:1) and (INV_NUMBER=:2) order by recno
frm - 09402:Table or view does not exist.
Here oe_invoice_adj is the detail table and it does exist. If I stop the form and run it again then it's fine. It only happens after "query causes no records".
Any ideas? thanks a lot in advance.

Jay, Have you created public synonym for the tables so that the users don't have to refer the tables with the schema scott.xtable...
and have the users been given the SELECT privilege to those tables....
    mb
I actually created the tables and views for my application by logging in as scott/tiger.Now the users I have created with due privileges are just able to log in but unable to perform any query or DML.The error message is FRM 40505'UNABLE TO PERFORM QUERY' which says table or view does not exist. How do I fix this problem?
    Please get me a solution
    Thanks

Which leads me to ask what version of Oracle you have because we don't know.

  • 'table does not exist' when creating generic datasource

I went to SBIW->Business Content DataSources->Transfer Business Content DataSources-chose "content delta". it said 'comparison bct <-> cust version ' then it counted thru several objects for a few minutes and finished with no warnings.
then I selected each datasource under co-om-cca and activated those with no problems.
problem: now when i try to create came generic datasource using co-om-cca application component i get mssg when saving 'the specified table does not exist'...so now it isn't even letting me create a datasource at all using a standard application component either.
I have been having many problems with creating datasources and using application components and this is why I did the first paragraph because I don't know what else to try.
    Please help, thanks.

I have answered my own question.  I wasn't entering the view/table and it was my own complete oversight.

Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!

  • JTable Problem (table does not show rows and columns)

    Hi All,
What the table is suppose to do.
    - Load information from a database
    - put all the values in the first column
    - in the second column put combobox (cell editor with numbers 1-12)
    - the 3rd column put another combobox for something else
    - the 4th column uses checkbox as an edit
The number of rows of the table should be equal to the number of
    record from
the database. If not given it default to 20 (poor but ok for this)
The number of columns is 4.
But the table does not show any rows or
column when I put it inside a
    JScrollPane (Otherwise it works).
    Please help,
    thanks in advance.

  • Short dump 'Table does not exist in database'

    Hello All,
When a report is executing it is going to short dump by saying 'Table does not exist in database'. As per the short dump analysis this issue is happening because of the following   Native SQL statement statement :
Program :  %_T050N0 (This is a dynamic  program generating by SAP )
    Form Name :  DYN_LIC_SEL_TOT
    exec sql performing LOOP_MOVE_WRITE_ISAP.
    select single_plate, itm_num, ctry_code, model_lot,
    lic_hold_flg, qty into :dcat-lplate, :dcat-matnr,
    :dcat-werks, :dcat-charg, :dcat-holdflag,
    :dcat-qty from ZLICENSE_R2 where itm_num   = :p_matnr and
                    model_lot = :p_charg
    endexec.
As per the customer this issue occurring since they migrated the SAP  back-end data base from Oralce to DB6. Here I felt that ZLICENSE_R2 is not migrated from the  Oracle to DB6. But as per the BASIS Team, even this table was not maintained in Oracle also. If the table was not maintained in the Oracle, this issue should have been there even before migration also.
Following is the short dump details:
    Short text
Table does not exist in database.
    What happened?
The table or view name used does not
        exist in the database.
The error occurred in the current database connection "DEFAULT".
    What can you do?
Check the spelling of the table names in your report.
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
        administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERROR', was not
         caught in
procedure "DYN_LIC_SEL_TOT" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING
    clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
    Triggering SQL statement: "select single_plate, itm_num, ctry_code, model_lot,
    lic_hold_flg, qty from ZLICENSE_R2 where itm_num = ? and model_lot = ? "
    Database error code: "-204"
Could you please  let me know what might be the reason for this issue.
    Many Thanks in Advance.

Transaction SE11, input ZLICENSE_R2 for table name, and display the table. Did the table display? If not, that is the main problem.
If the table displays, go to menu item Utilities -> Database Object -> Database Utility
In the resulting screen, under the "Status" fields, you should see text "Exists in the database." If you don't, then the table exists in the dictionary, but doesn't exist in the database system. Click the "Create database table" button and then you should be able to run the program.
You may need basis team's help to carryout some of these actions.

  • CM14 BI Publisher - modifying an existing Data Model, the Graphic View in Query Builder does not display

I am trying to edit the default forms/reports that come with CM14, trying to edit the data model, data set, (to get to the old Infomaker style graphic view) , the Query model does not display (error the list of tables is too long..) Oracle tell me the limit is 60,  there are not 60 tables referenced in any CM report.
Does this Query builder view work at all on any report?
(bigger question, we are moving from CM12, should we move to CM13 which works with infomaker?)
    Thanks,
    Paul L

    Kurt, thanks for your replies.
    A couple of notes/clarifications.
    1.     You are correct that BI works better in Firefox--I have observed issues with the BI display when using IE.  I would recommend using Firefox too.
    2.     You are correct about the way to get to the Query Builder to see a graphical view of data tables.  There are basically two issues with this that I mentioned, but will re-iterate:
    a.  If you have an EXISTING query in the data set, then click the "Query Builder" button, this will remove the existing query that's there, it will NOT display the existing query in the query builder.  Query Builder works only to create a NEW query from scratch.
    b.  Query builder is limited to selecting 60 fields max in your query.  If you are creating a large report with many tables, you may find that 60 fields is not enough.  For that you will have to work in the SQL edit screen rather than using the query builder.
I would impress on anyone developing CM14 reports that they become familiar with the database schema and relationships to avoid problems when developing your BI reports.  You should be able to find the tables and joins documentation in the knowledgebase.

  • Table does not exist - DbLink

Hello, I have 2 instances, into production environment, instance A and instance B. Into instance A I have a dblink to instance B...
The problem appear when I want to see the indexes of a table of instance B from instance A, to do this I press F4 into TOAD over:
    owner.table@dblink
and when I click into tab "Indexes", Oracle said me: "The table does not exist", I review the grants, and this is ok, and the table exist in instance B.
One explanation, I have the same environment into testing, and there work perfectly, I have the same dblinks, the same users and the same grants.
    Any suggestion to help me.

You may want to contact the folks that make TOAD.
My guess is that TOAD is querying the local USER_/ ALL_/ DBA_INDEXES table rather than the USER_/ ALL/ DBA_INDEXES table at the remote server. You could run a client-side SQL trace to see what SQL is being generated to see if the problem is that TOAD is generating the incorrect SQL or whether there is some problem with the database. But I'm not sure how productive that would be since it's not like you could fix the SQL TOAD is submitting. If there is an option in TOAD that changes the behavior here, it's certainly possible that someone here will know it. But TOAD support is probably more likely.

  • Table does not exist for the sys user

    Hey Everyone,
I am having a strange problem with 10G 10.2. I keep getting the table does not exist for all the tables when I am logged in as sys. It is strange because I can query the same tables being logged in as a regular user say 'scott'. I can't figure out what the problem is since it could not be privileges because the user is sys. Is there something I am missing here. Any advice would be welcome.
    Thanks,
    Sarang

Yeah i am using the query....
    SELECT * FORM SCOTT.EMP
It is a little wierd. I did a full database restore yesterday night. I dont know if that has anything to do with this. Will have to take a look at the logs.

  • DB Toolbox List tables - does not work properly

    Hello All
I have two databases: one "c:\a\aa.mdb" contains some tables inside
    second "c:\a\bb.mdb" contains no table.
When I run the list tables command from DB toolbox SEPARATELLY the tables are listed in proper way, i.e. one has tables, second does not.
But when I build a vi which returns the table list, and call it twice the result is wrong. Both database seems to have all tables, even though the second does not contain any tables.
I attachment you will find the packed example.
Two databases with udl files (change if unpacked to different directory than c:\a\).
The vi "two vi tables.vi" shows the problem. It calls "find tables.vi" to return the tables in database.
    You can see th
at when DB List tables is called in the main vi it works fine. But when it is called two times inside the loop it returns false results.
    Can anybody comment on this.
For those who are afraid of unpacking zip files I enclose pictures.
    thank you in advance

    Pawel,
I apologize for the delayed response to your first question. I am currently working on the problem in order to determine a more permanent solution. These forums are a very important resource for not only helping our customers but also for improving our products!
With regards to your other question I believe the problem is one of data flow programming. Each table creation will take a certain amount of time to complete depending on the size and nature of the rows and columns being inserted. Unless you programmatically control the data flow, the DB Tools Execute Query.vi does not necessarily know when each table has been created. Since control is handed off to the database program, the DB Tools Create Table vi is forced to wait
until the database program returns control.
To programmatically control the flow of data you would need to use either a case structure with a while loop (suggested) or a sequence structure. These structures are critical in cases where execution of a previous section of code must be completed before subsequent code portions are to execute. I have attached an exaple that may prove useful.
The wait method is actually a good way to time data flow but in this case may not be the best solution if you want your table creations to be dynamic over time (you may be forced to change the wait for larger table creations, for instance). If you know that your table creations will never change then using a wait method may be an acceptable solution.
I hope this information helps out some. If not please post back with some sample code or more detail on your issue. Good Luck!

    Hi Divya,
I think this not the right place where you post this thread to get abrupt and accurate answers..
You would rather post in SAP NETWEAVER ADMINISTRATOR or SAP on SQL SERVER Forums.
But any one by doing search i have found a thread which discussed regarding this..
Please check this thread and if possible post this thread in another forum.
