Question on differences in development of webdynpro in ce 71 to nw04s

Hi All
A webdynpro developed in NWDS 7.0 SP15 which runs on NW04S SP15 ,will this be able to run in CE 7.1 without any changes. Can I import the project file (of webdynpro developed in NWDS 7.0 sp15 )to CE7.1 SR5 and deploy it and run in CE7.1 without any changes. If not what are the changes needed to run it on CE71.
Thanks,
pkv

There are changes in Netweaver 7.1
1. Interface controller is abstract and component controller implements interface controller
2  also there is addition on window controller implementing interfaceview which is also abstract
when you import application from NW04S to NWDS CE 7.1 . Repair application first , then you have to migrate it using cheat sheet too . Right click on wendynpro component and select migrate , cheat sheet window will open and u can follow the instructuions there.

  • Difference between BSP and webdynpro

can any one explain the difference between bsp and webdynpro and also the advatages over each other?

    Hi,
The main diffrence between this 2 keeping client requirement in mind if LOOK & FEEL.
In webdynpro we have very less scope for geeting the look and feel but in BSP we have more scope for Customization.
In webdynpro we have some predefined methods  known as Hook Methods which will handle the flow .
I mean to say some code which we write commonly will be reduced in webdynpro.
So that the time for building the application will be very less compared to BSP.
For example if you take MVC architecture implementation BSP and webdynpro
webdynpro provide built in MVC functionality where as in BSP we have to implement it using controllers,views,etc...
Finally Developing application in web dynpro takes less time then in BSPs
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Difference between Developer (6i and 10G)

    Hi All...
What is the Difference between Developer (6i and 10G).
    Thanks & Regards
    Sanjeev

Regarding Forms specifically, the most significant difference (in my opinion) is that all versions newer than 6.0.8 cannot be run as a client/server or character mode application. All versions 9.x and newer are deployed as a java applet within a browser.
There are numerous other differences, so describing all here would not be possible. If you have a question about something specific, please let us know and we can try to respond.
I would recommend you refer to the many documents which are available on OTN. Here are references to the most significant pages on OTN regarding Forms and Developer (iDS):

  • Difference on developing client applications on PC and Mac platform.

    Hi,
I would like to know wats the difference on developing client applications on PC and Mac platform.
If i were to create software applications using Javascript, MS SQL Server 2000 and JAVA on Mac platform, would there be any difference from those we created on PC(Windows)?

Write once, debug ewerywhere. There should not be any
difference running pure Java code on difference
platforms.Umm.. "should" is the operative word..
Threads come to mind...as even when they are written as "Pure Java".. the native thread implementation can work harry cary (as opposed to Harry Potter) on your app...

  • A few questions to the abap development team...

    Dear Developers,
I am submitting these questions to the ABAP development team at SAP regarding the language capabilities.
Coming from the Java/C world I am wondering if you plan the following possible "evolutions" of the ABAP language :
       - a real boolean implementation in ABAP like in Java or C; possibly a OO class implementation with full operators;
-> the possibilty to write conditionnal expressions or assignements like the followings :
       x = ( a and not b).
       if (x or f(x)=false) then ...
       - possibility in ABAP to nest function calls on objects like in most every OO language (java, c++, ruby...etc ) : x = a.b().c()
      - Concerning the ABAP editor :
         - fixing the problem with the drag n drop problem from the class browser to the source editor of long method+class/interface names
         - real code completion on objects (no heuristic approach) by providing access to method or attribute names like in most OO IDEs
    Any info could be interesting

  • WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DEVELOPER 2000 AND SQL DEVELOPER?

Hello Everyone.I am new to oracle and want to know the difference between developer 2000 and sql developer in oracle.Pls?

Developer 2000 is an application for making webforms that will be served on an Application Server, and accessed by the end users through an applet in their webbrowser.
SQL Developer is a tool for administrating and manipulating data and structure of your database. Like a GUI version of SQL*Plus, not advisable for end users.

  • SPAU: difference in development and on QA/PRD system

    Question from Customer:
After Release upgrade and SP-application we have completed the  SPAU on the development system and after Upgrade/SPAM application of QA/PRD system  we have imported the SPAU request into the QA/PRD,
but after the import there were not adjusted objects in the worklist of SPAU.
    How can this happen.
    Kind regards
    Laszlo

This situation can happen, if the DEV and QA/PRD are not identical, if there are different modifications in QA/PRD  then in DEV.
You can remote compare the involved objects in version management between DEV and QA and
you can check also the SPAU request, if the objects were included or not.
I suppose, that on the QA and PRD there is no difference, because the PRD will be copied to QA regulary.
    Best regards

Please see Kenichi Unnai in his blog "How to use UWL API for NetWeaver BPM Tasks"
How to use UWL API for NetWeaver BPM Tasks
The .sca-file can be found on the sap service marketplace, afterwards you need to import the .sca-file, add the SC to your "MyComponents" and then you can select your necessary DC's.

  • A few questions about Group Policy development

This post was originally in the Windows Development forum. Please note the following:
This question is not about the application and management of GPOs. It's about how to develop a group policy.
I know about Group Policy Preferences, please do not provide this as an answer.
I create a custom group policy for an application.
Recently the application developers allowed settings to be controlled via policy registry keys, in order to make these settings easier to set for Systems Administrators I have created a GPO. Unfortunately, there aren't that many resources
I can find that help with Group Policy creation, so:
Is there an easier way to create and edit admx/adml files rather than just a xml editor? Like a GUI front end?
The vast majority of this applications settings are just a simple Boolean, is there any way to just use one base presentation element for multiple policies? or do I really have to create a presentation element for every single policy? :/
As mentioned above, most settings are a simple Boolean, but with an additional enforce parameter. If you "enforce" the setting the user is blocked from changing the value. I was going to peg the setting Boolean to whether the policy was
Enabled or Disabled and have an enforce check box in the policy itself (this would make it easier to just glance at the configured settings and get an idea). Unfortunately, when you disable a policy you cannot interact
with its contents, so the enforce check box cannot be toggled. So I have two options:
Have two policies for each setting eg: Disabled: Load printer settings with the document and
Enabled: ENFORCE Load printer settings with the document
OR what I have elected to do is just have the one policy with 2 check-boxes in it, one for the setting and one for the enforcement
The former is both more complex to write for me and more time consuming to configure for the Administrator, the later is easier for me to write but still annoying to use. So my final question is: can I make it so, even though a policy is disabled, you can
still toggle settings within the policy?

    Hi Thomas.
    > (this will set the default in the application) and then toggling whether
    > that setting is Enforced (unable for the user to modify it - disabling
    > it in the user interface).
As said - that's not how policies are intended to work - they are always
enforced. You are talking about preferences that have an optional
"enforce" switch :) But doesn't matter for the remainder of this post.

    >     presentation for every. single. policy.?
I'd sugggest to use ADM instead of ADMX. Much easier to write and
maintain, and copy/paste works very well in ADM :)

    >      4. False and Enforced
What elements you need depends on the registry values your application
    is expecting/checking. I'd suggest a radio button (enabled/disabled) and
    a check box "enforced".

You cannot edit what a disabled GPO does, but you can define it
(VALUEOFF in ADM files if I recall correctly).
    >     well because it would make it easier for them to read the GPO. But I
    >     think you are saying this is not possible.
Yes, it isn't. It still - at least to me - is a slight misunderstanding
    of "preferences" versus "policies" :)

  • Few questions about difference between Satellite P70 , L70, S70

Hello, i have many questions about the series P70 , L70, S70 that come with a 1920x1080 panel.
    1) What are the differences between the L70 and S70 series? Except of the HDD capacity and RAM, the notebooks look pretty identical.
    2) Do P70 , L70, S70 support a 2nd HDD or is it just the P70 series that support it ?
    3) Do all three (P70, L70, S70 series) come with the same TFT Panels ?
    4) Which of the above series supports mSata ?
    5) Do all of the model of each series come with a mSata support? E.g. Could it be that L70-a-13m supports mSata while the L70-a-146 does not ?
    6) All of the above, come with a S-ATA II or S-ATA III interface ?
    7) Which is the best of those series listed ? I am trying to understand what makes the big difference from S70 to P70 except of the casing for example.
    Thank you in advance.

    >1) What are the differences between the L70 and S70 series? Except of the HDD capacity and RAM, the notebooks look pretty identical.
What Sat L70 and S70 models do you mean exactly? There are different L70-xxx and S70-xxx models on the market which supports different hardware specifications.
    >2) Do P70 , L70, S70 support a 2nd HDD or is it just the P70 series that support it?
As you can see in this [Sat P70 HDD replacement document,|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU3903II0000R01.htm] the P70 series supports 2nd HDD bay BUT even if there is an 2nd HDD bay this does not mean that you could use 2nd HDD. In case the 2nd HDD bay would be equipped with HDD connector, you could use the 2nd HDD
I found also the [Sat L70/S70 HDD replacement |http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU3703HG0000R01.htm] document on Toshiba page and there I can see that 2nd HDD bay is not available
    > 3) Do all three (P70, L70, S70 series) come with the same TFT Panels?
See point 1). Different P70, L70, S70 models were equipped with different hardware parts.
    > 4) Which of the above series supports mSata?
As far as I know only some P70 models are equipped with an 256GB mSATA-SSD.
    > 5) Do all of the model of each series come with a mSata support? E.g. Could it be that L70-a-13m supports mSata while the L70-a-146 does not ?
See point 4) not all models supports the same hardware specifications
    > 6) All of the above, come with a S-ATA II or S-ATA III interface ?
I dont think that SATA III is supported. I guess it would be SATA II
    > 7) Which is the best of those series listed ? I am trying to understand what makes the big difference from S70 to P70 except of the casing for example.
Not easy to answer because there are too many models released in Europea.
And not all models are available in each country. So I guess you will need to look for models which were released in your country.

  • What is the difference between developement system and delivery system?

    Hello Experts,
I have some questions regarding publishing the content on delivery system.
    Could some one help me.
    1) Can we use Development System as Delivery System?
    2) Can we Publish a Site into Development System?
    3) How to check whether the installation done in development mode or in delivery mode? I mean do we have any procedure to check ?
    4) What are the Advantages of Delivery System over the Development System?
Note: I installed Webcenter sites11gR1 on Weblogic10.3 server and windows 7.

    Rajendar Raj wrote:
    I got the answers.
    1) Can we use Development System as Delivery System?
    Ans:
Yes, a development system contains the same functionality as a delivery system. Conversely a delivery system doesn't have a contributor interface so it cannot be used for managing assets.
Not recommended and it also depends on the sizing of your environment and tuning. Delivery systems usually are architected with performance in mind, depending on the expected load, logs are minimal and usually Remote Satellite Servers are added. Important as well is that no content or any assets is created directly on the delivery system, you might run into unique ID constrains when you publish content from Authoring to Delivery, in your case Development.
    2) Can we Publish a Site into Development System?
    Ans:
    Yes, you can.
Be careful this is not recommended, you can run into unique id constraints issues
    3) How to check whether the installation done in development mode or in delivery mode? I mean do we have any procedure to check ?
    Ans:
Look in the ominstallinfo directory, in the location where WebCenter Sites was installed. there is a file called omii.ini that contains installation-time choices and parameters. Look for the parameter "Development"
    - true, indicates it was a Development type install. Advanced UI will be available, as will the Contributor UI
    - false, indicates it was a Delivery type install. Only Advanced UI will be available.
    4) What are the Advantages of Delivery System over the Development System?
    Ans:
A delivery type install is more secure, as the contributor UI and some other editorial components are not installed. It also prevents editors from changing content on the delivery system by mistake.
In general Delivery systems are architected different, more emphasis on performance, caching and security.
