Question on SRDemo ADF BC, why there is thrree application modules ?

Hi All,
Since the ADF Dev Guide for ADF BC has not come yet, I try to explore SRDemo ( ADF BC version ) to learn the best practice.
Could any body please tell me, why there is three apps modules in SRDemo ?
( SRAdminService, SRPublicService, SRServiceBase )
What is the criteria to detemine how many apps modules need to be created ?
Thank you for your help,
xtanto

In later versions of the demo (which will come out along with the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL developers) I've simplified that back down to a single AM again.
In the version that's on OTN now, the SRServiceBase was a parent component with some common code and a single common view object instance. The SRAdminService and the SRPublicService extended that base component to add things they needed.
I was trying to follow the structure of the EJB/Toplink version of the demo where there were separate "Admin" and public "User" services, but it ended up not really making too much sense to me after I thought about it more given how they were being used in the demo. The additional complexity introduced wasn't balanced by the extra value for this small sample application that new users are also supposed to use to learn the basics from, along with the developer's guide.

  • ADF Groovy call method in different application module

    Hi All,
I have two different application modules(Say TestAM.xml and MyTestAM.xml). I have a method in second application module. I want to call that method from Entity object. Normally we use adf.object.applicationModule.getName()  if it is in the first application module
So how do I call a method in second application module from Entity object?
I am using JDev 11.1.1.5 and ADF BC.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Hi,
In my opinion the second way have a advantage, which its method could be invoke automatically using a invokeAction on pageDef, if necessary.

I am very new to OBPM and trying to run through the samples but got stuck in here.
below are the warning logs that I have got while trying to run the samples.
this might be due to very silly stuff like classpath or JVM settings or engine settings on the OBPM studio... but the errors are not pointing in any direction but for engine...

  • Why there are overloaded create methods in Statful bean?

    Hi all,
    I have a question ...!
Why there are overloaded create methods for Statefule beans? and why not for Stateless bean?
because any way these create methods are for giving referneces of EJB objects.hence, what is use of overloaded methods in stateful bean?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
Each stateful session bean is tied to a particular client. That means whatever state is passed in during create() is guaranteed
to be available on subsequent invocations. Allowing multiple create methods is a convenience.
For stateless session beans there is no prescribed relationship between the caller and which bean instance is used to handle
an invocation. It wouldn't make sense to allow creation parameters since there would be no guarantee that a subsequent
invocation is handled by an instance containing that particular initialization state.
All of this only applies to the EJB 2.1 and earlier API. Starting in EJB 3.0, there are no longer explicit create() methods.
As you've seen there isn't any benefit to having them in the stateless case. For stateful session beans in EJB 3.0, the
developer can perform initialization by just declaring a particular business method and calling that after first acquiring a
    new stateful session bean reference.

  • Questions regarding authentication used in SRDemo ADF Tutorial

    Hello,
I am currently in the process of learning ADF with the help of SR Demo application from OTN.
I have a few questions regarding the authentication used in SRDemo ADF Tutorial.
    1) Why do I need to specify the list of the all the users in the jazn-data.xml file with the name and credential attributes?
    2) How I change the authentication mechanism to point to database tables.(If it's not using, correct me if I am wrong).
    3) The prompt which I am getting for authentication is like OEM authentication. Can I change this to a normal authentication login page?
    4) As an option I would like to pass the person who logged in to windows , should be able to log in to the application. How can I pass the username(which I have in a java string) to my application and get logged in?
    Any help is highly appreciable.

  • Why there is no quick selection function in adobe photoshop 6.0.1 [was: cs6.01]?

Some one my help? why there is no quick selection function in my adobe photoshop 6.0.1 [was: cs 6.01]?

    What John Waller just said.
And your screen shows it is the archaic, totally superseded Photoshop 6.01, and that was in no way associated with any CS (Creative Suite), so your question title indicating you had "cs6.0.1" was massively and annoyingly misleading and wrong.
You must be running an ancient machine if that oldie runs on it.
What's worse you are running an illegal, pirated and hacked version of Photoshop.  You are breaking the law.
Please don't come back here until you have bought a legal copy of Photoshop.

  • Why there is no ring tone tab in my itunes, why there is no ring tone tab in my itunes

why there is no ring tone tab in my itunes, why there is no ring tone tab in my itunes

Is the "Tones" box checkmarked in the iTunes General preferences?
You don't need to repeat your question multiple times, by the way. Once is sufficient.
    Regards.

  • Hello, I wonder why there isn't Finnish language in the adds-on list. Could you please make it available to Firefox users. Thank youin advance. Rappe

Hello, I wonder why there isn't Finnish language in the adds-on list. Could you please make it available to Firefox users. Thank youin advance. Rappe

    (1) Firefox's built-in post-crash page has not been a real HTML page for a long time (for example, from the time of Firefox 22, see: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968212 Want to save LOTS of versions of "Restore Session.xht" from the "oops ..." page for later use]). If you had this working differently with Firefox 25, that might have been created by an extension.
You can check to see whether extensions are disabled or need an update on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. The disabled extensions cluster toward the bottom of the list. To poll for updates, use the "gear" button above the list and choose Check for Updates.
If you used the Reset feature (or Firefox automatically did a reset due to some problem during upgrading), you will need to reinstall missing extensions. The reset feature creates a folder on the desktop named Old Firefox Data. Do you have that folder? There may be data you can recover from it.
    (2) There are many ways for history to get cleared, both internal to Firefox and external. Could you double-check your Privacy settings?
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Privacy
    * The "Firefox will" drop-down says Remember History: Firefox shouldn't be clearing history, but an add-on or external software could do it
    * The "Firefox will" drop-down says Use custom settings for history: inspect the "Clear history when Firefox closes" setting to make Firefox isn't set to clear history. Also check your add-ons and consider external software.
Firefox normally accumulates months of history. However, some of Firefox's database sizes are based on disk space available. If your hard drive is very full, Firefox might reduce the amount of history stored.

  • Why there is no Apple Store in Singapore

I am from Singapore and for years I was question the same one: why there is no Apple Store in Singapore but only Apple Resellers here? Apple Store surely provide better customer service that the resellers, at least I won't go to find where to get my iPhone repaired if it was broken down, all things will be settled in Apple Store. Singapore is a fast-developed country, there is no reason that Apple won't get another Apple Store opened here, as there are few have already opened in China, Hongkong and Japan.

While we humble mortals can only attempt to divine the designs of the Apple Gods, we can hazard to think that a Singapore store has not been deemed viable due to insufficent sales volume, legal difficulties or prior arrangements with the local resellers. Given that they are snazzy glass and metal studies in minimalism, the cost of establishing one must be sizable.

  • Why there is a huge difference between network terminal and Linksys E4200?

When my PC connect directly to Huawei HG863 optical network terminal, I can get 600mb more download speed. But adding E4200 router given others unchange, I can only get 100mb download speed.
Why there is such huge difference?

Can you please elaborate your question? No Internet Service Provider, provides 600mbps connection speed, if that's what your question is?
Secondly, router works as a firewall and distributes internet on different computers which obviously lower down the speed of the internet.
If you want to check the actual speed of the internet, try downloading some stuff from websites like microsoft.com, linksysbycisco.com or apple.com. That will show the actual downloading speed.

  • Why there is not unlock sound(IOS7)?

Hi..I would like to know why there is not unlock sound..It was perfect and i would like it again!

Yes, for some strange reason, the unlock sound was removed in iOS 7. While if I had to guess, it might be related to the use of Touch ID, that is a personal opinion and in no way reflects any great knowledge of anything in particular, just one of those, "I wonder why it does that" questions that kept me awake one night.

  • Question about SRdemo

Srdemo was built with Toplink instead of ADFBC, I'd like to know what are differences between these two type, and the reason I have to choose one opposite to the other? Is there a complete demo/tutorial with ADFbc to come? I'm newbie in j2ee technolgies, and i choose to use ADFbc and ADFfaces to begin working, but as soon as i saw Srdemo i had any doubts. Thanks in advance.

Looking at the ADF BC version of the SRDemo application, one thing to notice is that most of the functionality is encapsulated into the application service, the application module in other words, with its view objects and entity objects. The controller layer backing beans have only the code related to programmatic manipulation of UI components, and to programmatic page navigation. Nothing related to business layer functionality, very much by design. In the chapters of the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL developers that we are working on, we will explain all of the features of the ADF BC layer that enable this clean separation.
There are several distinguishing differences between Toplink and ADF Business Components. One of the key ones is the ADF Business Components Active Data Model functionality that I describe more in detail here:
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2006/01/26/theAdfBusinessComponentsActiveDataModel.html
For maximum flexibility of mapping arbitrary Java classes to database structures, Toplink is your best bet. It concentrates on this mapping layer and does a really nice job at that. The customers who have found they need this flexibility should give our Oracle ADF framework a try together with Toplink for the object-relational mapping. Compared to previous releases, our 10.1.3 ADF release has a number of new resources for this combination that were previously missing to help decide if this combination is right for you.
ADF Business Components prescribes a more declarative approach for building enterprise J2EE applications that we have found works well for our thousands of Oracle Applications developers inside Oracle. We have many, many other external customers who have found the combination compelling for their own applications as well. The approach provides a goodly amount of declarative functionality, and numerous framework extension points for allowing you to tailor the default behavior. All of its built-in functionality is something that sooner or later you will need to invent for yourself when delivering an enterprise J2EE application.
At the database access layer, ADF BC focuses on providing a clean way to encapsulate Java business logic for an underlying database table, with straightforward capabilities for easily handling foreign keys, inheritance, and polymorphic queries. While possible to achieve more complicated mappings through code, we focus on making the most common scenarios work very easily. In practice, we find for most business applications, the built-in functionality provided by ADF entity objects is exactly what people end up needing.
With your business domain layer in place, we make it easy to shape the data in any kind of master-detail hierarchy using SQL projection, joins, and filtering so you can have exactly the data required for a given end-user application task. These two layers of SQL queries and underlying business components cooperate automatically to enforce business logic in a consistent way in any kind of scenario.
When combined with the active data model features, the combination of ADF Business Components features really simplifies building J2EE applications. There are a number of good resources to get started here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/collateral/4gl/collateral.html
    and here:

The ADF Developer's Guide for Forms 4GL Developers that we are working on will further help users get started with this technology stack.
