Quicktime and itunes will not open error message

I think their is suppose to be two files (QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx) in the systems 32 folder. But there is a quick.ime also in the folder, do I delete it so that my quicktime and itunes work.

No, quick.ime is not part of Quicktime. Don't delete it.
If Quicktime will not open, then iTunes can't work.
Can you give the Quicktime error message in full, and also check in your Windows error logs or Problems & solutions to see if there is more information there.
You haven't given your Windows version which helps when troubleshooting.

My itunes will not open on my Macbook Pro, everytime I try it says error message 13014, what does this mean? Thank you!

Hold the option key while starting iTunes and create a new library. Does it start now? If so, it's something to do with your library file. Is there anything we should know about your computer such as you keeping your library on a NAS?

  • Itunes will not open error message- APSDaemon.exe system error

Running windows 7 never had a problem with iTunes until I tried to downlaod update yesterday...iTunes will not open and have error message 'MSVCR80.dll  APSDaemon.exe system error......
How do I fix itunes and and the system error?   Thanks

Murray3703, only one other time did this happen to me.  It was over 6 years back when I had an iPod Nano and after doing the reinstallation, it wiped out all of the content and applications and corrupted by Nano to the point Apple said it could not be fixed.  I had no other things corrupted on my laptop.  So, I know it was not a virus.
I have tried fixing the problem with redownloading and "repairing" the problem but, it did not work.  Since the Nano incident, I am somewhat reluctant to do this for fear that I will loose all of my content and paid applications to apple?  I also have Windows 7.
Did you have any issues with uninstalling and reinstalling? Thanks.

  • Quicktime and itunes will not open - buffer overrun in quicktime

I cannot open Itunes. It says it needs quicktime. quicktime will not open. says buffer overrun. reinstalled both itunes and quicktime. both used to run prior to updates. Help.

Quicktime was working on my Vista computer up until a short time ago. I believe one of the Microsoft updates crippled it. I have looked at several forums and read the other threads on this site and from what others have described I really believe now that Microsoft did this with one of their updates. There are many problems with Vista all due to Microsoft trying to force developers to use only their products. Unfortunately they are squeezing us customers really hard.

  • Itunes will not open, Error Message :

(Message reads) Itunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration.
This has begun happening on my computers over the past couple of weeks. It first happened on the primary system I use for my Ipod and then today while attempting to get sround this error message I updated my Itunes and the problem is now on both systems. I have changed nothing in my audio configuration and am getting a little fed up at this particular message. My computers had easily and painlessly utilized itunes for nearly a year without any problem anywhere near one like this. My suspicion is there is something amiss with the update.

Since iTunes uses QuickTime to play audio/video content in iTunes, that error message most likely indicates that there's a problem with your Quicktime installation.
Check out this knowledge base article for information about the issue:

  • Safari and iTunes will not open on my Macbook Air after Migration Assistant

Safari: "Safari quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
      - I tried reopening the app, restarting, and shutting down the computer. Nothing has worked.
iTunes: "The file 'iTunes Library.itl' cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Would you like to download iTunes now?"
      - I clicked "Download iTunes" but then another message comes up that all my software is up to date.
    Any help is very appreciated.

  • The iphoto and itunes will not open please help

on my Mac G5 the iphoto and itunes will not open can anyone help

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Then, hold the Option key down when trying to open iPhoto, does it ask where it's Library is? Or what exactly happens?

  • Just bought a new pc and itunes will not open. I have tried thto repair and reinstall but still no itunes

just bought a new pc and itunes will not open. I have tried thto repair and reinstall but still no itunes

Best route here is to uninstall iTunes completely using the Windows Control Panel.
Make sure you know exactly which version of Win 7 you're running.
Restart your computer from cold (with no iTunes).
Go to Apple website and download the correct version for your operating system.  Install following Apple prompts.
    Once installed, close iTunes.
Restart your computer from cold (with new iTunes).
Start iTunes - all should be operating well!  Good luck ...

  • Installed 10.4 update and itunes will not open

Installed itunes10.4 32 bit version - after successful installation itunes will not open
    any advise?

Update to my last post.  I have finally "fixed" whatever problem was causing the Apple software products to malfunction on my PC, Windows Vista 32 Bit SP2.  After updating to iTunes 10.4 and Safari 5.1, a series of error messages would appear:1) AppleSyncNotifier.exe 2) iTuneshelper.exe 3) iTunes Failed to properly install - Error 7 (Windows error 126).  I had tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes & Safari as well as downdating iTunes to an earlier version, but this had all failed to correct the problem and the error messages still appeared when the programs were suppose to have been removed.
I ended up using the Windows Program Manager (in Control Panel) to remove every single Apple product from my PC, including the Apple Installer.  Then I restarted the system.  Taking bits and pieces of advice from this forum, I started the system, went to the Apple website, downloaded and SAVED the newest iTunes version (which includes QuickTime), but did not run the program.  Then I disconnected from the net, turned off all virus and firewall protections, and finally installed the saved iTunes program.  It took an extraordinarily long time to complete the install, but I was able to restore my libraries from my iPod Touch (4th gen) by performing a simple sync.  I reconnected to the net and updated the device software . . . so far, so good [knock on wood], no error messages yet.  I will add each of the removed programs as they are needed in the future so that whatever conflict exists can be fixed - until then, I'm at least happy to have iTunes back!  Hope this is helpful to someone and saves them the 4 hours it took me to get back on track

  • Quicktime  and Itunes will not launch!

Both quicktime and itunes come up with errors whenever I try to lauch them. I have tried nearly EVERYTHING and they will not start! This is quicktime error-
Quicktime Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Error signature is BEX

Interesting. In that case, the errors are probably being caused by the absence of the two files I mentioned earlier. Haven't seen one of those for a while.
We'd better swap out your existing QuickTime. We'll take a few additional explicit precautions along the way, just in case.
First, download and save a fresh copy of the QuickTime installer (QuickTimeInstaller.exe) to your hard drive. (Don't run the install online, and don't start the install from the downloaded installer just yet. Use the download option that doesn't mention iTunes.)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Now head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel. Uninstall QuickTime.
Next we'll clear away any leftover QuickTime program files or folders.
In "My Computer" open "Local Disk C:" or whichever drive your program files are installed on.
    Open the "Program files" folder.
Right-click on the "QuickTime" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
Empty your recycle bin and restart the PC.
After the PC restarts, do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
Now start the reinstall by doubleclicking the QuickTimeInstaller.exe file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
Did the QuickTime install seem to go through properly? If so, are iTunes and QuickTime launching for you now?

  • Itunes 12 will not open - error Message 2

I recently purchased an ipod nano for my daughter.  When trying to sync the nano with ITunes.  ITunes was shutting down as soon as I would plug the Nano into my laptop.  I removed ITunes and reinstalled iTunes.  Now, ITunes will not even open and I keep receiving the following error message:
Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes.  Please uninstall Itunes and re install ITunes.
    Error 2 (Windows Error 2)
I have tried removing and re installing iTunes several times and I have also followed other suggestions such as deleting bonjour, mobile me and other folders and starting over with a new install of ITunes with no luck.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
    Cheers,

    jgh
    Thanks for reply.
I understood that Sandeep Singh helped you with the Premiere Elements issue of the 0xe000007b error, but what about the Photoshop Elements problem that you asked about when you wrote the following?
Now, all of a sudden, Photoshop Elements 12 will only load the trial version and I loaded the full version from same cd at the same time as Premier.
That is why I wrote to ask the following, asking
Have you resolved your Photoshop Elements 12 concerns since your December 12, 2013 post (5)? If not....
Are you saying that, if you get the Photoshop Elements 12 tryout dialog presented to you,
    a. you cannot ignore the Continue Trial
    and
    b. then use the License this product field to insert your purchased serial number?
If the Photoshop Elements 12 matter is resolved, how did you do that?
    Thanks.

  • ITunes will not open, no message of problems

iTunes does not show up whenever I click on it, and no message of problems comes onto the screen. Absolutely nothing at all happens. Help?

See if QuickTime will open. iTunes uses QT codecs to play everything.
Sometimes QT will give an error message, where iTunes won't.
