Quicktime installs on Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit but will not run

Have installed the latest QuickTime 7 under Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit) but it will not run when double clicking on the icon on the desktop. Can anyone assist me with this matter? iTunes works perfectly.

yes, though you may need to use compatibility mode to install.

  • Program runs in win 7-64 Pro BUT will not run in win 7 home or vista.

Program runs in win 7-64 Pro BUT will not run in win 7 home or vista.
I'm testing 32bit software that will run in 7-64 Pro but will not in win 7 home premium or vista.
The 7-64 Pro machine is NOT running the program in XP mode although is is being run as admin. The 7 home premium and vista beta testers have tried every work around/mode, admin mode, and anti-virus exception. I've run process explorer & WinMerge to evaluate
the differences between os operations & dlls loaded but am unable to find the OS issue.
Currently 2-win7-64 machines, 1 vista machine and 1 win 7 machine had no issues with the program as it started up and ran immediately.
After 3 beta's 30 hours of testing & 50 of my own, I believe I've narrowed the issue down to the win 7 home premium and vista os's.
Can anyone here suggest other ways to further narrow it down so as to provide functionality on all 3 os's?

You must provide the exact name and version of the software for anyone to attempt to answer your question.  Primarily the functionality of any software is entirely dependent on what platforms the publisher intended the software to run on.

  • Creative Cloud installs and appears in my menu bar, but will not truly "open".

I'm on OSX 10.9.3 . Creative Cloud downloads, installs, and appears in my menu bar, but will not truly "open". I only see the spinning symbol (the Adobe one, not the Apple beach ball). I never even get a chance to log in and download anything. I've tried on three different Macs with the same result. All three meet the system requirements for CC. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Sorry, it didn't work for me. I closed the application (it hung the first time I tried and I had to restart the Mac to get rid of the window), and deleted the recommended file. When I tried to re-open the app, I got this:
I never got the opportunity to log in, either before or after the attempted fix.
    Thanks,

  • I have recently purchased finale 2011, and it installs, but will not run?  Any idea what the problem is?

I have recently purchased the finale 2011 music program, and it installs without any problems, but will not run when I try to start up the program.  It acts like it is going to start, but stops when loading the plugins.  I have been talking with Finale tech support for three days, and they are coming up empty, but they are still trying.  Any ideas what the problem might be?
    Thanks,
    John

Try booting in Safe Mode (hold the shift key while booting until the grey progress bar appears).
    If you're able to log-in, then re-boot and log-in

  • Repeatedly asked to install Flash 11 on IE 9 Windows Home Premium 64 bit

From my admin account - I successfully install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 11.  Everything works fine (in that same admin account) until a system reboot.  Then I receive messages from websites stating that they want me to install Adobe Flash.  I do so and all is well until the reboot.
I have followed all the instructions on the Adobe main troubleshooting pages from uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling, rebooting through the deletion of folders at run %appdat%\Adobe - Flash Folder and %\Macromedia and then uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling etc.
Again, I receive a successful installation message and everything works properly until the reboot.   Looks like a lot of users have had this problem, but I haven't found a clean answer. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
I followed one suggestion and downloaded and ran Secunia PSI and found no older version of Flash Player installed.  I do also have Adobe CS 5 Suite installed. I also started receiving messages from HP Solution Software that it would not operate until the latest version of Adobe Flash is installed.  I uninstalled the HP software pending resolution.  Uninstalls and reinstalls of Flash were not successful after removing the HP software either.

Hello, I too have experienced the repeating of installing Flash Player after performing a successful install. The PC is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421, and Flash Player 11.4.402.265. The installation of the latest FP indicates a successfull install. Then when going to any site that uses FP, for example, weather.com, yahoo news, youtube, a message window indicates the latest FP needs to be installed.
I've went through the steps in thread 4613512 (FP uninstaller), 928315 (clean install), 987370 (permissions errors), the steps in this thread including deleting the %Appdata%\Macromedia folders prior to the install, removed references to Adobe 7 in the Windows registry (running Adobe 10.1.4). Also checked that Windows Media Player was not installed. It is not. All of the functions in the steps within these threads seemed to complete successfully. No errors or other problems were indicated. Would you have any suggestions on something else to try?  Thank you.

  • Laserjet 4240n driver does not work with windows home premium 64 bit

I recently was given a HP laserjet 4240n by my employer to use in a remote office.  I am using a Windows version 7 home premium 64 bit laptop.  I have tried the HP install wizard - no support for this printer.  I have tried downloading the "correct" driver - but that doesn't work either.
I assume that there is something wrong but I have spent hours and still haven't been able to figutre out what is wrong and how to fix it!

  • I'm using iTunes on Windows 8 64 bit. After installation iTunes newest 64 bit version will not run. iTunes also installs in x86 program folder.

After installing iTunes on 64 bit Windows 8 systems iTunes will not run. I've tried to install 32 bit, but I'm told to install 64 bit version (64 bit version installs to x86 folder). iTuns will not run even if I attach iPod.

iTunes 11 works fine on my three Win 8 PCs

  • FLASH PLAYER INSTALLS BUT WILL NOT RUN

I have installed Flash Player multiple times.  The installation indicates it was successful, the Control Panel and list of programs installed indicate that the program is present but when I run a web site that requires it, I get a message that I need to install it.  The Adobe Flash Player Help does not indicate that it is installed.
Running Windows 7 Home Premium , 32 bit; service pack 1; IE 9.0.8112  The computer is a Dell Laptop with  Intel (R) core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5800 @ 2.0 GHz  2.00 GHz with 3.00GB RAM.  Tech specs say 2.33 GHz is required.  Is this the problem?  Are there earlier versions of Flash Point that will work?

    I went to the discussion you referenced and did the following ;
Under Internet Options, I disabled Protective Mode and restarted the computer.  Flash Player  did not work.  I then removed Flash Player using Windows uninstall via the Control Panel.  I reloaded Flash Player with Protective mode still off.  After Flash Player successfully loaded, I turned Protective mode back on ( I didn’t want to run in unprotected mode)  I restarted the computer and Flash Player worked and has been ever since.  Thank you.

  • Windows 8--"iTunes64Setup" (11.1.3) will not run/install

    Hi all,
I received an iPad air for Christmas today, and naturally I plugged it into my laptop (a Sony Vaio, running Windows 8.0) in order to access iTunes (we do not have wi-fi at home).  My laptop, which at the time was running iTunes 11.0.5 (I believe) said that the iPad needed the latest iTunes update (11.1.3--well, technically it said 11.1) to work.
Well, that's all fine and dandy, but the Apple Software update program proved disappointing immediately. I checked iTunes off (99.83 MB), but not iCloud, and clicked install one item.  Now, the download always stops during the 67.80 MB mark of the download process (I have tried this multiple times--once or twice it reached an .1 MB mark, and then stopped).  An error message appears: "iTunes" has an invalid signature.  It will not be installed.  |and then| Errors occurred while installing the updates.  If the problem persists, choose Tools > Download only and try installing manually.  ...That doesn't work either.
So I go to download the 64 bit update from the Apple website itself (I use Google Chrome, by the way--and yes, IE also proved no better), and after a few failed download attempts (they said: Failed--Network error) manage to get the file labelled "iTunes64Setup."  If I click on it directly, it asks me if I want to run it (the publisher is 'unknown' apparently).  When I do, an empty bar flashes on screen (and an icon appears in the taskbar) for the briefest of moments before both disappear.
The same thing happens when I try to run it as an administrator.
My security software is Kaspersky, and I did go check to see if the setup was allowed.  I did try to clean out my Temp folder, but that has met with failure as well (though perhaps I'm doing that solution wrong, I'm not sure).
I did at one point uninstall my iTunes completely (and I deleted the related files) in an attempt to do a complete reinstall.  That failed as well. In fact, I couldn't even download iTunes 11.0.5 again (even though it has been working without a problem for months).  I did manage to find an old 10 point something or other version of iTunes that has installed well enough on my laptop; but you know, I'd really like for my gift to not go to waste.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

I am having the same issue with Vista 64 bit: After many failed download attempts ("network error") the Progress Bar briefly appears and that's it.
Searched for solution that led me to running "Microsoft FixIt", deinstalling iTunes, Apple Software Update, Mobile Dev Support, Bonjour, and Application Support - even manually deleting common files that were left over (tough with Vista). No difference. FYI, I was able to get rid of the Apple folder in Program Files (x86)/Common File, but not in Program Files/Common Files ... but that shouldn't make a difference as I am installing iTunes64Setup.exe, right?
I even tried iTunes 10.7 and 10.6.3 from Apple's support page ... same differnce.
Had a lot of security updates on 1/22/14 (all related to Office 2007 (including SP3), though). So I tried to restore past this point, but an "unknown error" occurred and I am stuck where I am ... lovely.
So now my system is chopped and I seem to not be able to get iTunes even close to my computer ... :-(
Just Irritatedtech said: Any suggestions are highly welcome ... - Thx.

  • ITunes installs but will not run. It says it was not installed correctly?

I have tried installing the new iTunes (19/2/13) and when I try and run it, it comes up saying 'iTunes was not installed correctly, please reinstall' and error code 7.
I have tried repairing it, reinstalling it and installing an earlier version. Please help.

A complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related software components is worth a try (7s can indicate trouble with other software components like Apple Application Support). See the following documents for instructions:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
... But if no joy there, let's check to see if there's a .NET issue underlying this:

  • ITunes installs but will not run post install in SERVER 2003

I have MS Server 2003 as my OS. I haven't used iTunes in a long time because I never got it to work on my computer. I downloaded anapod explorer and that has worked well for me, but I really would like to try iTunes again as I have several friends that tell me how wonderful it is.
Anyways, I install iTunes and it goes through the initial setup procedure, then will not actually show up. I see iTunes.exe in my task manager for about 10 seconds then it disappears. No error message, no nothing. I've tried new versions, old versions, standalone quicktime, deleting "ipod/apple" anything out of the registry. I've force-disabled DEP.
I'm a well seasoned windows user, not so much mac stuff, but I've been messing with this for 3+ hours now, and can't seem to get it to run.
    Suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

I don't think your OS is on the list of supported operating systems, but still.
Does your Quicktime work? iTunes can't work without it and the fault seemed to relate to a Quicktime file.
Sometimes installing the stand alone QUicktime works.
First completely remove Quicktime using the method here: it is not for your OS but I expect you can adjust.
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
When you come to the system32 folder you can remove any file with Quicktime in the name.
There can also be problems with incompatible codec packs. If you have any of the following:
ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec, WinAVI video converter, Mpcstar, (possibly starcodec pack, 3ivx)
Uninstall them before installing the stand alone QUicktime.
Download the version of Quicktime that does not include iTunes from here:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
Note that it is not the default option.

  • Scheduled Task will run on Windows 7, but will not run on Server 2008 R2

So I have a scheduled task that uses nircmd to take a screenshot and then email it to a few company emails each night.  With our old Exchange 2003 server, everything works prefectly on the 2008 R2 server (using SMTP).  But since we upgraded to
Exchange 2010 it no longer seems to work (at least it never sends the email anymore).
What confuses me more is that this exact task (I exported it) runs perfectly fine on a Windows 7 Pro computer, even using the new Exchange 2010 SMTP address.
Both machines are logged in as the same user.  I can even login as the domain administrator on each machine and still have the same issue.  Only the Windows 7 Pro machine will successful run the task.  To restate it, the Server 2008 R2 server
will run the task successfully if I use the old Exchange 2003 SMTP address.
    Thanks for any advice!
