R/3 - XI : IDOC disappears!

Hello forum,
I have really a strange situation here. It's the following:
We created our own IDOC type and our own program to send that IDOC (its an R/3 46c). we20 & we21 are configured to send the IDOC to XI.
Sending the IDOC is just fine - in bd87 I see a green light. Status 03
On the R/3 side i see NO entry in the sm58 - so tRFC seems to have worked fine.
However: In XI there is NOTHING.
sxmb_moni, sm58, idx5, smq2 - I see no sign that anything happens. No message. Nada
Also no metadata is loaded in idx2. Of course also nothing in the CC monitoring (IDOC adapter does not run on Java, right?)
I checked like 10 times the way out of the R/3. Going bd87 and there to the port, we20, sm59, remote login and I am in my XI. So I am pretty convinced that I am not sending to just some other system.
The only strange thing is that if try to load the metadata manually, I get the message that "segment versions could not be read". However, after going out and back into idx2 and I see the metadata. Retrying the sending afterwards gives the same result.
I browsed the forum and added a TRFC port in XI that references back to the R/3 in we21 - w/o any impact on the above described.
I still think that he is somehow sending the IDOC somwhere else - even if I verified that he is not.
Am I missing something? Does sbd. have an idea about what's wrong here?
Any hint is appreciated!
Helge

Alright- after spending the night with it here's what I discovered:
The actual configuration is accurate. Its a problem on R/3 side. The IDOCs are just not sent. Hasso knows why...
I changed the idoc processing from 'immediate' to 'packaging'. If I release the buffered IDOCs in bd87 manually they are actually sent (better: they were not but I got an error in sm58 that I corrected; so this scenario works now).
However, switching back to the immediate processing it does not work at all.
Being more an XI than an ALE guy - does anyone have an idea why he (the dear R/3) could only pretend to send the IDOCs but actually doing nothin'?
I will now start searching - but if anybody could tell me which job I have to schedule in order to automatically send buffered IDOCs in the background I would be grateful, too.

  • IDocs have disappeared between ECC and PI

    Hi All,
A couple of days ago 3 idocs went missing between ECC and PI.
That day 293 idocs of the same message type were sent to the same partner through PI. In PI we only found 290. The 3 IDocs were sent in the same second in the early afternoon. All IDocs before and after were processed correctly.
The IDocs are unknown in IDX5 and in Runtime Workbench on PI.
The idocs were not in SM58.
I found them in WE05, with the correct status. The status update from status = 01 to 30 to 03 took place in the same second.
25 seconds later, new IDocs of the same message type were created and processed successfully by PI.
At the time the idocs disappeared there were no problems with either ECC or PI, as far as we know.
The interface is live for more than 2 years. In the meantime no changes have taken place.
I have read the links below
    Finding missing IDocs
    Interface Troubleshooting Basics
It's a mystery to me. Where have those idocs gone?
    Anybody any idea?
    Kind Regards
    Edmond Paulussen

    Hi Edmond,
On the SAP PI system have a look in transaction IDX5. Take the IDoc number that you could not find in PI and search them in IDX5.
If you cannot find those IDoc in IDX5 then they never reached PI.

  • Item disappears after viewing

We post idocs to the workplace when there is an error in the automatic processing of them. These idocs are "addressed" to three or four users.
We have occurrences when an IDoc disappears from the users inbox. It seems to occur when the primary user reviews the item and then backs out without changing, flagging, or attempting to process the IDoc - she just reviews the IDoc in the Inbox to read the error.
In the current example, the user reviewed a specific IDoc to identify the error. She backed out of the IDoc, corrected the error, and is now unable to find the item in her Inbox. I currently have this "missing" IDoc in my inbox.
Does anyone have any ideas why an IDoc would disappear from an Inbox without updating or processing it?

This IDOC Task does not have any check whether you actually change the IDOC or update it. If you wish to have this you have to create your custom task that will esecute a Asynchronous method that will check whether any actual update has been done.
This has a disadvantage of the user always have to change the idoc though it is not needed or can be discarded.

  • SAP Inbox-Idocs

    Hi,
Couple of questions on Idocs in SAP Inbox.
    1) If the error Idocs are mapped to be automatically transmitted to the users SAP inbox, then if the users reprocess the Idocs successfully using BD87, will the Idoc disappear from the users SAP Inbox?
    2) If on successfull reprocessing the idocs do not automatically disappear (ie if the answer to the above question is no) from the users inbox, then how can they remove them from their SAP inbox?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mick

    Thanks Atish.
The Idocs have already been mapped to the users SAP Inbox. So the question is that if the users reprocesses the Idocs from BD 87 will they automatically disappear form their SAP Inbox or they have to do something to remove them from their SAP Inbox, after they are successfully reprocessed.

  • IDOC -- File:(R/3-- XI) : Idocs not reaching XI. Where to check for error

    Hi,
I have completed the config for IDOC to XI (R/3-->XI) scenario based on various weblogs available on Sdn.
For testing, I am using we19 to trigger the outbound idoc from R/3. But when I look in IDX5 in XI or message monitor, I do not see any message or IDOC there. Even SXMB_MONI in XI does not have any message.
What could be the potential issue for this behaviour. Is there a way where I could debug or any steps that could tell me where to look for the error.
So far only odd behaviour I have observed is:
When in WE19 I trigger the IDOC for outbound processing, XI login screen pops up, where I need to enter password. Once I click enter the screen disappears and the message, IDOC sucessfully sent to external system/Port appears.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    Shirin

    Hi,
I checked SM58 and teher indeed are errors saying
"Name or Password is incorrect (repeat logon) "
So which connection is having incorrect password in SM59?
I checked and I have a working RFC connection  (TYpe 3) in SM59 for XI.
Just to add TCP/IP connection(Type T) has 2 connections not working. They are LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI.
So what should be my next step in correcting this error as I am not sure which RFC connection user-id is responsible for SM58 errors.
    Any feedback is welcome.
    Thanks

  • 2 IDocs n:1 to BPM

Hi, I have a scenario, where 2 IDocs are comming from SAP at the same time (may be 1 or 2 sec differene). 1 master data and another one is dependent IDoc.
My basic doubt is... shall I put wait step in BPM, eventhough those are comming in same time to PI?
If I put wait step... I think the minimum wait time is 1 min, is there any other way to minimize the wait time? because the next IDoc will reach the IP with in 1 to 2 seconds difference...
Or any other method to get 2 different IDocs to BPM and correlate?
    Thanks for Ur time guys...

    "Exception TimeOut never been thrown".
You seem to have defined an Exception by name TimeOut in the BPM.
Now you have not assigned relevant Exception Handler to this exception and hence you are getting this warning message.
So just assign a proper handler to the handler and then this warning message will disappear.
If you are using any Block step then first define the Exception handler in the properties window of the Block and then use this particular Handler in the Exception branch.
Are you using a Time-dependent loop to collect the IDOC messages?....may be you can check the design here:

  • Idoc views updation, Workflow, Performance tuning techniques!

    Hello,
    Greetings for the Day!
Currently my client is facing following issues and they seek an help/attention to these issues. Following is the current landscape of an client.
    Sector – Mining
SAP NW MDM 7.1 SP 09
    SAP ECC EHP 5
    SAP PI 7.0
    List of Issues:
Classification (CLFMAS idoc) and Quality (MATQM idoc) views tries to update before MATMAS idoc updates and creates the material in ECC table.
At workflow level, how to assign incoming record approval request, put them in mask like functionality and approve them as bulk records.
    Performance tuning techniques.
    Issue description:
Classification (CLFMAS idoc) and Quality (MATQM idoc) views tries to update before MATMAS idoc updates and creates the material in a table.
Currently, client’s MATMAS idoc updates Basic data1 and Basic data2 along with other views and material gets updated in ECC table, but whenever record has classification and quality view to update via CLFMAS and MATQM idoc, these 2 idocs tries to search the material ECC table before respective MATMAS to update the table. As it does not have the basic data created for the material entire idoc fails. Kindly suggest the solution as in how we can align the process where classification and quality view will get update only after the basic data views gets updated to material master. Is there any way we can make views to be updated sequentially?
At workflow level, how to assign incoming record approval request, put them in mask like functionality and approve them as bulk records.
Currently, super users are configured within the system, they have 2 roles assigned to their ID’s, 1.custodian and 2.steward. In custodian role user assigns the MDM material number and check other relevant assignment to record creation request, user approves the material request and the request goes to steward role. As the 1 user has 2 roles, same user need not to checks everything again in steward role, hence user wants whatever request comes at steward user inbox, he shall be able to create one single group for those 20-30 records and on one single click entire materials shall be approved and disappear out of his workflow level. Is there any way by which it can be achieved.
    Performance tuning techniques.
Currently, client MDM system response time is very very slow, after a single click of action it takes long time to reflect the action within MDM. Material database is almost around 2.5 lakh records, standard structure has been used, not a complex landscape structure. Both ECC and MDM server is on single hardware, only the logical separate DB. Kindly suggest performance techniques if any.
    Kindly suggest !
    Regards,
    Neil

    Hi Niel,
    Kindly try the below options
    -> Performance tuning techniques.
SAP Recommendation is to put the application ,server and Database in different Boxes . I am not sure how you managed to install both MDM and ECC in the same box but that is a big NO NO .
Make sure there is enough hardware support for a separate MDM box.
-> Classification (CLFMAS idoc) and Quality (MATQM idoc) views tries to update before MATMAS idoc updates and creates the material in a table.
MDM only sends out an XML file , so you definitely need a middle ware (PI) to do the conversion.
You can use PI logic ( ccBPM) to sent the IDOC is the necessary sequence .
Else you can maintain this logic in the Processing code of ECC system .
PS : The PI option is more recommended.

  • Idocs in Users Inbox? Table or Function Module

    Hi,
We have around 9000+ error Idocs (status 51) for which we had configured the workflow, so that they are directly transffered to the users SAP Inbox.
Now we would like to see whether they are still in the Users inbox or the users have acted on the error Idocs.
Is there any table/function module from which we can get the status of these Idocs at one shot whether they are lying in the users inbox or not and if they are in users inbox then whose inbox they are in.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Mick

    Hi Mick,
table EDIDC gives IDoc status, if it is 53 then it is fully posted and will have disappeared from users inbox.
Look at EDIDS status records; possibly you get information here.Depends on message type and workflow setup.

  • EDI: Syntax error in IDoc (mandatory group/segment missing)

    hi EDI/IDoc experts,
Need you help urgently. According to the requirement, i need populate a segement  E1IDT01 of basic type PEXR2002 . I added the code , then run and generate an idoc , the new segment
E1IDT01  was populated,  but Syntax error 26 happend. Error message as below.   It also strange that i can see E1IDKU5 populate out as usual, but some others segment disappeared , i am sure that in my code ,i didn't changed any variable related to other segement . how can i fix this problem?
EDI: Syntax error in IDoc (mandatory group missing)
    Message no. E0079
    Diagnosis
The segment group E1IDKU5 has the attribute 'Mandatory' in the syntax description of the basic type PEXR2002 (customer enhancement ). However, the segment group is missing in the IDoc. The segment number logged in the status record identifies the item before which the segment group is missing.
    Procedure
Please check the IDoc or the syntax description of the basic type PEXR2002 (customer enhancement ).

    Hi all,
Thanks so much for your concern!
Finally ,this problem has been figured out  .
Requirement is user want to use segment E1IDT01 in idoc to populate the long text they maintained in accounting document vendor item line (use FB01 to create accounting doc).
Why I made out " EDI: Syntax error in IDoc (mandatory group/segment missing)" this message out ,because  I didn't fill data correctly. I missed to keep SY-TABIX in momory .
when we use Function module ,or do..enddo...or read table it_table. we should be careful that SY-TABIX  is changed .So we can't just use MODIFY EDIDD_TABLE INDEX  SY-TABIX  in the last . we should define a local variable to keep  SY-TABIX  in memory and then use it to modify EDIDD_TABLE.
    Follow is the final code.
    IF SEGMENT_NAME = 'E1IDT01'.

  • Files are disappeared

    Hi,
At the receiver File communication channel , I have a unique problem.
the settings are in Append Mode with Ignore as empty message handling setting.
When i execute a success IDOC the record is written into file.
When i excute a error message at Adapter Engine level, the file is getting disappeared.
Let me know what the error would be.

    hi,
Are you sure it is cache problem.
At adapter level, where there is an error, why should it pick up the file which is already created and make it disappear.  Please also find the error message.

  • CONF21 Inbound Idoc - How to Monitor the Error

I have just set up the idoc conf21 - and everything works perfectly well (I ticked "immediate update" via CI41 in order to avoid using CIP2).
I have simulated an error in the ILE01 unit of measurement I putted 'XXX'.
I launched the idoc via we19 and the idoc appears in status 53 green. ( This is normal because the status 53 represents only the fact that function module KK2A_GET_DATA_FROM_IDOC has runned without errors. It does not report errors possibly occuring in PROCESS_CC2_MESSAGES_PARALLEL.)
Obviously due to the 'XXX' the confirmation did not happen. The record disappeared from the table RUECK.
Question : How can I monitor this type of error ?
    Thanks
    Philippe

    Go to CO16
reprocess - change the *** in unit of measurement to H
back - the line shoulb be green now
    save
and up this is it !

  • Idoc relations to Shipment gets deleted

    Hi ABAP Gurus
We are establishing relation between Inbound/Outbound Idocs to the Shipment Number using the function module BAPI_REL_CREATERELATION with parameters Shipment Number, VTTK, Idoc Number, IDC0, IDC0 in BAPI_OBJECT.
The relation establishment works fine. But after 4 or 5 days, the relation between the idocs and shipments will get deleted and cant be seen in VT03N. We couldnt get any luck while debugging as it always works fine with it and issue comes only after 4 or 5 days.
Can someone throw light on this please. This is very critical for one of the business process.
Any information on this will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Giridhar Kommisetty

    Hi Giridhar Kommisetty,
as I remember the relationship is established through some 3 or 4 tables. Try to find out, take a snapshot of the relevant records. When the relationship disappears, check which records have changed in what way. This could give you a hint.
Sorry, no better idea as I never had that.
    Regards

  • Hierarchy lost for IDoc segments

    The following has occured:
We have our own IDoc created (ZNAME_60) and put several non-mandatory segments in them, with a 3-level relation between them.
At one point we have builded a new version of this IDoc (ZNAME_80) and also with the same non-mandatory segments in them. However, we have named the segments a different name, their contents (fields and types) are identical.
Now by accident someone has runned a program that generates a massive amount of outgoing IDoc's (over 1 million) of the NEW defined type (ZNAME_80) but he has used as parameter the old type (ZNAME_60).
If we now use transaction WE02 to view the IDoc's, we get to see ALL segments in a flat list (the hierarchy of the IDoc seems to have disappeared).
Since these IDoc's have status 29 (first status 02 of syntax error) that there is a problem in the ALE layer, they will not be sent.
    My question:
How does SAP determine the hierarchy of the segments with an IDoc (simply filling the fields SEGNUM and PSGNUM in the table EDID4 does not work)?
    Regards,
    Rob.

    Hi Sriram,
When I create segmet fields should I create new data elements for all the fields with attributes specific to receiving system
    Is it custom  segments .

    Madhu.

  • Idocs with status 9

    Hi Gurus,
Is there a possibility to find the Idocs in T-Code YSMR which have the status "09"? We have been asked to add this status to "delete" the idocs, so these won't be reprocessed so we make manual adjustments, the status has the description "Error - no further processing".
Is there a way to find these Idocs? They disappear from YSMR once I add this status
    Thanks a lot

YSMR is not a standard t-code. Its a customized t-code which is only valid for your organization.
Please forward this message to your ABAP team, then you give you the solution.

    Thanks,

The IDOC has not arrived in BizTalk, that's why you do not see it. The problem is that the IDOC fails at adapter level, when the SAP RFC Library is called.
The actual problem is that the IDOC you are receiving is containing unreleased segments and that's not supported, you should contact your SAP administrator to get this problem resolved.
If I'm not mistaken it's transaction WE30 in SAP, there you have to select the IDOC type (ORDERS05 in your case) and then you can set the release. But your SAP administrator will probably know better how to do this
