R12 Purchasing & Oracle Pricing Modifiers

Hi,
I'm looking for setup document / case studies, where Oracle Pricing modifiers are used for PO pricing. Most of the doc's give details on sales side pricing, but not on PO side.

Please note that we have implemented the following modules on E-Business Suit 11.5.10.2 .
SCM Modules:
1.     Inventory
2.     Purchasing
3.     Order Management
Finance Modules:
1.     General Ledger
2.     Fixed Assets
3.     Accounts Receivables
4.     Accounts Payables
5.     Cash Management
We have also upgraded our database from 9.2.0.6 to 11g R2 as per the latest metalink interoperablity notes. Currently our EBS Version on test Enviroment is 11.5.10.2 with 11g R2
please note that as per the metalink note id EBS: R12.1 Oracle Financials Recommended Patches [ID 954704.1], We are in process of analysing the patches.
Please let us know how to merge these patches and proceed with our R12.1 upgrade driver.
Please also let us know are there any steps which needs to be performed after the below steps.
Run the Accounting Health Check and resolve data issues (Note 416699.1)
Complete all Period Close Actions/Processes. Validate and account as much data as possible and make sure everything is transferred to GL.
Run your standard reconciliation and account balance reports after period close and resolve issues.
Run the Accounting Health Check again. Resolve all remaining data issues (Note 416699.1)
If upgrading to R12.0.x, apply Patch 7653100 (Note 557869.1)
If upgrading to R12.1.x, apply Patch 8773483:R12.FIN_PF.B (Note 880275.1)
Proceed with the next steps of the upgrade.

I am not an expert although I have significant experience upgrading the database and applications from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1 and 12.1.3 in both test and production environments. The following are a few thoughts as you continue down the upgrade path:
Patch 8773483 will need to be installed in pre-install mode along with a number of other pre-install mode patches. If you haven't looked at the following note you will need to since it contains information you need:
Oracle Applications Release Notes, Release 12.1.1 [ID 798258.1]
Pay particular attention to the README.txt instructions for patch 9179588 since it wants you to merge other patches with it before applying.
Another note you need to be aware of, especially if you want reconcile past the 6 month window used for accrual write offs during the upgrade, is:
R12.0 and R12.1: FAQ for the SLA Upgrade: SLA Pre-Upgrade, Post-Upgrade, and Hot Patch [ID 604893.1]
Other good sources of information for financials are:

If you don't have XLE and ZX currently licensed in your 11.5.10.2 instance, you will need to license them so the tax conversion runs successfully.
If you have legal entity identifications that are more than 30 characters, you will want to be aware of the size limitation imposed on the column LEGAL_ENTITY_IDENTIFIER in the table XLE.XLE_ENTITY_PROFILES, The following job will fail if the combined values exceed the LEGAL_ENTITY_IDENTIFIER column length which is shortened in R12:

There are lots of potential pitfalls in an R12 upgrade. You simply need to test, test, and test again everything you use, read the RCD's and R12 documentation as much as possible, etc ... Having said that, there are many good things about an R12 upgrade too, from both the functional and technical perspectives.

Need to report on sales order lines using specific pricing modifier

Is there a report I can run for a specific modifier number that will give me all the sales order lines that were adjusted using that pricing modifier?

Use oe_price_adjustments table and link that to the qp_list_headers and lines to get the details of the modifiers.

Pricing, Modifiers in Sales Order Form

Hi Gurus,
Please help me to resolve the issue with Pricing, Modifier to Sales Order:
I have created Master price List for Item A - $40
Modifer 1 - Dealer Discount Price is 20% (Created Modifier as Dealer Discount - 20%)
Modifer 2 - Order Header discount is 10% on total Order Value (Created Modifer with Discount : Level - Order; Modifer Type - Discount; Pricing Phase - Header Level Adjustments, Application Method - Percentage; Value - 10%
Assgined to respective Qualifers (Customers), set as Automatic
Ran Build Attribute mapping values concurrent program in Pricing Module. Status : sucess
After doing All above steps created Sales order for respective Customer, system is applying Modifer 1 Automatically but MODIFIER 2 not able to apply at order header leverl, Not able to see this Modifier list under SO form
Action->View Adjustment.
Can you please check and let me know the problem to achieve this issue.

Check below options in sequence
1) Is your order qualifies for both the modifiers ?
2) If you need to apply both modifiers put them in different incompatibility level.

Purchase Order Pricing Condition and Withholding Tax

We have investigated Extended Withholding Tax functionality, which appears to be FI specific.
The problem is that we want to have the Purchase Order pricing conditions reflect that some amount is being withheld for tax purposes.
At invoice time, the vendor would invoice for the entire amount (i guess) (ie. 100$) but we would pay the vendor only 80$ and 20$ would go to a withholding tax account...or something like this would happen ...
I have some pricing config knowledge...but limited
Can anyone tell me
a) if this is possible?
b) any hints on how to go about this?
Also noticed a 'withholding tax code' field on MEK1 - Create Condition Records. .... which appears as display only depending on how i configure my condition type - haven't figured out how to use this field or what is means...

If you are using the standard PO Print then check in M/08 and check for that Condition Type whether Print Indicator is "X"? If it is is Z-Print Program then take help of ABAPer.

Issue in Oracle Pricing - Creating a new pricelist line

Hi All,
We have an issue in Oracle Pricing.
In a price list we have an existing line with some product precedence value, start date as not null and end date as null.
Now through our PL/SQL code (using the API qp_price_list_pub.process_price_list) we are creating a new line with the same item, what happens is a new line is created and the existing line is end dated with the new line's start_date-1, but the precedence of the existing line is made null.
We are unable to understand, is this a standard functionality and if not then what might be done to retain the previous line's precedence value.
Any help in this would be of great help.

R12 on Oracle Unbrakable Linux.

I want to install R12 on Oracle Unbreakable Linux 5.
I have downloaded Oracle Unbreakable Linux 5 from edelivery.oracle.com.
I have installed Oracle Unbreakable Linux 5. It has got all the packaged installed except the these 2 packages as prescibed by Metalink.
pdksh-5.2.14-30.3
xscreensaver-4.18-5.rhel4.11
When i try to apply these packages, they don't get installed.
Oracle Unbreakable Linux 5 has installed ksh-93, is this enough or do i need to install ( pdksh ) for installing R12.
Regarding xscreensaver, Oracle Unbreakable Linux 5 has got kscreensaver, screen and gnome-screensaver. are these enough or do i need to install the Package - (xscreensaver-4.18-5.rhel4.11). In this package the package name seems to be of rhel4.11.
Do i need to apply any RPM's for APACHE.

Thanks for your response. However, we are implementing Oracle Price Analytics using universal adaptor for EBS as source.
In BI apps 7.9.6.4, one approach is to populate the csv files and load using universal adaptor. Can anyone tell me what are the tables in EBS that I need to consider to populate these files for pricing analytics?
Are there any SQL queries available to populate pricing csv files?
Any help will be appreciated.

All of the step from 1 to 5 are successful , and the service of apache
was alive , I can use the URL http://vm2.d.o:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin
to get login form in IE browser ,when I input the username "sysadmin"
and password for the page and submit , I can't find out the responsibility
page, and got the error as follow, Could someone give me the correct action
for my problem.

Incompatibility pricing modifier

Hi All,
I have a current pricing modifier that applies pricing for labels that the distributor can request.
I have about 10 customers that should not be charged for these labels so I wanted to create an incompatibility level to use on this current pricing modifier as well as a new no charge modifier that I will be creating.
How do I create a new incompatibility level?
The other piece of the puzzle is that the current pricing modifier uses a formula to apply a lumpsum to the line.
In my new no charge modifier, do I need to create a no charge formula or can I just apply a zero amount with the “amount” application method?
