RAC 11.2.0.1 deployed on redhat 64bit - database doesn't auto start

I'm running through some migrations. Installed RAC 11.2 on new servers. Migrated 10g RAC database to new environment. I can start the database just fine using srvctl, or sqlplus. Everything looks good.
But when either node, or both nodes are rebooted, the database does not start automatically. I'm stumped. This would be similar to adding a database to a RAC environment.
All the other cluster services start; just not the database.

Hi,
Check if a node is in a pinned or unpinned.
Before installing 10.x or 11.1 Oracle Databases on an Oracle Clusterware 11g release 11.2 cluster you must establish a persistent configuration. Creating a persistent configuration for a node is called pinning a node.
To list all pinned nodes:
use $Grid_home/bin/olsnodes
olsnodes -t -n http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e17211/postinst.htm#CWHPX290

  • CRS on Redhat 5 auto-start problem

    Dear all
Recently I tried to install Oracle 10gR2 on Redhat 5. I did research and took all the necessary actions to install it on Redhat. Everything went well, according to the documents and at the end of the installation, all the resources were up and running. However, after the install, only the VIP was up and ONS and GSD was in unknown format. When I stop the nodeapps and start it again, everything stars working. It seems that the problem is something to do with boot process. I tried to put some delay ( for OCR mount ) but still no luck. This is the result from crsd.log from node1 when node2 is down.. :

CRS on RHEL 5.5 auto-start problem
    hi all
Recently I install RAC Oracle 10gR2 on Red hat RHEL 5.5. “Two node cluster, iscsi storage, ocfs2 mounted files & ASM ”
I did research and took all the necessary actions to install it on Red hat. Everything went well, according to the documents and at the end of the installation, all the resources were up and running. However, after the install, only the VIP was up and ONS and GSD ,ASM and the other services was in unknown state. When I stop the CRS & start it –all again, everything stars working. Please friends I need to fix this problem because the cluster services and the client workstation are stopping when the servicers is relocated to node 1 after the server reboot because the CRS did not worked still on node and manual starting is taking time.
This is the result from crsd.log from node1 when node is online .

I tired this solution it was on website “but it did not work”
    下面是METALINK给出的解释:
I have checked the information provided. crsd is reporting timeouts when running the checking actions. The racgmain process on the other hand, executed by racgwrap, remain running so the number is increasing. This issue has been reported in Bug 7009245 ""RACGMAIN CHECK" PROCESS NOT TERMINATING", and drill down and determine the root cause this require to get a stack trace from racgmain process(es) as well as you should runOSWatcher with a specific parameters, finally the issue of Bug 7009245 has been fixed by the fix of Bug 6196746 (unpublished bug -- summary is "racgwrap spawns racgmain child process. crsd timeout kills racgwrap but bot racgmain")So please perform the following action plan that intend to solve the issue.
    .ACTION PLAN
    ============
    1. Stop CRS on this node.
    2. Make a copy of racgwrap located under $ORACLE_HOME/bin and $CRS_HOME/bin
    3. Edit the file racgwrap and modify the last 3 lines from:
    .$ORACLE_HOME/bin/racgmain "$@"
    status=$?
    exit $status
    .to:
.# Line added to test fix for Bug 6196746
    exec $ORACLE_HOME/bin/racgmain "$@"
.4. Restart CRS and make sure that all the resources are startes
This should solve the issue. also if you are not able to stop CRS right now, you can try the
    solution without crs stop/start.
    BUT IT DID NOT WORK

  • Jabber 9.0.2 cloud deployment and Auto-Start options

We're getting ready to roll out Jabber 9.0.2 to about 2,000 users in a Cloud scenario (WebEx Connect + SAML).  We have our software deployment package set and tested, but we are unable to programatically tick the 'Automatically start Cisco Jabber when my computer starts' check box.  Since we're not running anything on-prem, I don't think we can do anything with a jabber-config.xml, can we?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
In the 9.1 release of Jabber for Windows, there will  be an option to configure it via jabber-config.xml file but that will  still require the manual start of client atleast once. So the only  seemless option is to add it to the 'Run' registry folder as Aaron  mentioned in the above post.
Selecting/unselecting the option "Automatically start Cisco Jabber when my computer starts" in Jabber options creates/deletes a system registry in Run folder:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    Key Name = Cisco Jabber
    Key Type   = String
    ValueData  = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco Systems\Cisco Jabber\CiscoJabber.exe"
    Thanks,
    Maqsood

There will be a new version of the Standalone CHM/OS for Windows that will work with 11.2.0.2 and earlier versions available on OTN in the near future. The older version that you are using has not been tested and due to the infrastructure changes in 11.2 it is not expected it will work. The integrated CHM/OS that is included as part of the 11.2.0.3 GI installation does work as does the new GUI (CHMOSG) now available for download.

  • BUG: Entering a "version" when deploying to a WebLogic server doesn't work

By default when deploying to a weblogic server the "Version" is set to v2.0. If you change that to something like v2.1 when the application is deployed, the deployment logs still show the Version=2.0. What needs to be done to get the Version in deployment to accept the changes on the deployment form?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. This is a Portal application deployed using MDS. So it doesn't have the file referenced in that blog post. The Version field I'm referring to is on the form that pops up to set the MDS repository. For reasons unknown it will always come up v2.0 even during the first deployment. Regardless of what I change it to the Version always equals 2.0 in the deployment logs.

  • Deploy Java class to database from jDeveloper

In 10g version I could create a deployment profile for deploying java class directly to the database from within jdeveloper. Looks like when you create a deployment profile in 11g that is no longer an option. Has the process changed, or was that functionality flat out removed?

  • How to deploy wsdl+xsd to database based MDS in SOA 11g

I am going to migrate our soa solution based on oracle soa suite version 10. We are using a file based repository in that solution and it is copied to the server and exposed to the application server as a virtual path.
I wan't to use the MDS instead, but can not figure out to upload all my schemas and contracts !
Any help would very much be appreciated.
    Regards,
    jan

You can put it anywhere you like, just update the properties accordingly. If you put it elsewhere, you will need to update the value of mds.repository in the build.properties file.
You can even update the build.xml to copy the content from SVN or CVS or any other version control tool and create a jar file.
Basically the build.xml is a custom written ant which invokes the Oracle provided ant (ant-sca-deploy.xml) and for deploy action you need to provide a jar as input to the Oracle ant. So it is upto you how you want to manage the files on your machine or version control and how you build a jar out of it and pass to ant-sca-deploy.xml

  • Best Practices for deployment of Oracle 10g database.

    Hello ,
Is anyone aware of a whitepaper/ document that talks about best pratices in deploying a database on Oracle 10g and configuration of the database to utilize all the features available in 10g ( eg. ADDM , reports setup etc )
    Thanking you in Advance.
    Cheers..rCube

    Appreciate the input Jaffer. Thanks.
However I was referring to a Best Practices whitepaper like the one existing for Data Guard & MAA available at the follwogng url : - http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/htdocs/maa.htm
Is there something available along the same lines ?

  • Deploy form, question about database object or connection parameters

When form to be deployed to the dev/test/production environment, should it be compiled with that specific database connection username, password and sid? Another words, when I compile the database objects created for the compile is embedded in the .fmx file?
    thanks for help

You won't need to compile your forms if the passwords of the target schema differs. It also doesn't matter on what platform/architecture the database server runs on. However it would matter how you created your schema objects. And of course it will matter if the platform your forms run on differ. The list of "what you need to do when you don't want to compile against the target database" is a long one.
Here is a short list of don'ts
    - no +select * from [...]+ views
    - no +select * from [...]+ in forms cursors and the like
    - %TYPE is evil
    - %ROWTYPE is much more evil
Those are just a few obvious things developers can mess up. Of course we all know that this sort of things are bad programming practice but they do happen. And as said: that's just the most obvious things. I work for a vendor where only the compiled files are shipped to the customer, and the road to this goal is a hard and bumpy one. If you don't want bad surprises in production I suggest you implement a fixed build process routine and a fixed upgrade process where you can ensure that the target database where the forms run against match exactly the development database you compile your forms from a logical point of view. The far easier exit is to just compile your forms on the target platform against the target database but I understand that this is not always possible.
    cheers

  • Installation of CM fails(par files deployed but connection to database fail

    Hi,
I have just installed CM EP6 SP2 on an old sandbox system (which has been upgrade from SP0 I believe), and I have some problems. The installation went fine untill I got the error message "CJS-00276  The upgrade failed.  The installation report file cf_installation.report does not exist.  Check the log files under the server directory and, if necessary, contact your local support center." But  I, at least now, find the file but this is probably from my installation of CM SP2 Patch4 and CM SP2 Patch4 hf8 (I was hoping the installation of them would clear the problem).
I believe the problem is that there are missing some files under the SAPPRT share (
server\SAPPRT\EPS1\global\config\cm), this because it was giving some error messages earlier about it. I was running the portal under localsystem user, which hasn't got the possiblity to have access to share's. (I would get an exception about access denied from the file system when starting it up, but after changing the user I don't).
    Under
server\SAPPRT\EPS1\global\config\cm the portal has created the following folders:
    Backups
    config
    etc
    reports
<b>Are there any one missing ?</b>
(to resolve the problem I tried create the following folders, but still the same problem:
    system/updateQueue/events
    system/command
    system/deployment/archives
    system/deployment/upgrades
    utilities/connection_pools/db_type/default)
    The property files in \usr\sap\EPS1\j2ee\j2ee_01\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\system\cm
look correct, and also the file under portalapps/com.sap.portal.km.application (or something).
When I went into KM configuration in the portal, I noticed there were no JDBC connection pools, and I therefore created two as described in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ep60sp2/helpdata/en/eb/d10ef2b6a311d5993900508b6b8b11/content.htm
But that is something which the installer should have done for me. (and still the connection pools won't start)
The main error message I get at startup is the following:

    I appreciate any help !
PS sorry for the unstructured post, but I am hungry and want to go home now.

The files under the SAPPRT share had somehow failed (some where there, but a lot of the important ones where missing).
I found out that these files were in .configarchive files in the par files to be deployed, and manually unpacked them using these two commands
    $ for file in `ls -1 .par` ; do unzip $file ".configarchive" -d extracted >> logfile.txt ; done
    $ for file in `ls -1 *.configarchive` ; do unzip -o $file -d extracted >> logfile.txt ; done
Afterwards I had to make some tiny customization (search for %[a-zA-Z]% , especially for the connection pools.
Then a restart, and most of it seems to work (the system will not live much longer so that is acceptable)

  • On deploy tries to recreate database link?

I have a problem when deploying a mapping.
I keep getting the error ORA-02011: duplicate database link name.
After I analyzed the Job Details of this deploy and the one of the mapping that is very similar to this one in the same location, I noticed that the one that gives problems tries to do Create of a location. The other one does a Replace of a location (database link). Both mappings are at the same location and the source and target locations are the same for both mappings.
Sounds familiar? What coud be the problem?

    Hi!
Probably you can check the connector status. In Control Center, you can expand the connector status and see what you have.

  • Deploying View... ERROR: The BAM deployment failed. Analysis database BAMAnalysis is either missing or cannot be accessed with curre nt credentials.

    hi experts,
when im deploying my definition file in Bam , got the below error. please any one put your inputs.

    Hi Anil,
Can you check whether you have BAMAnalysis db in 2*****-w022 server? Or you have enough permission to do the deployment?
While configuring BizTalk, did you checked "Enable Analysis services for BAM
aggregations", this would have created BAMAnalysis db for you.
Looking at your BAM-Excel file, you have created dimensions and constructed the Pivot Table which would look for BAMAnalysis db for deploying these.
So in your BizTalk configuration, you must have enabled Analysis services for BAM aggregations to have BAMAnalysis db created.

  • Mapping Deployment Has Error:  Duplicate Database Link Exists

    Hi everyone,
This is hopefully a simple question. I've been working with OWB 10GR2 for awhile now with no problems. My project finished and I moved on to another OWB environment, still 10GR2 and now my mapping deployments are having errors during the deployment. Each time I try to deploy the mapping, OWB also tries to create the database link, regardless of the fact that it already exists. It fails to deploy the database link but the mapping successfully deploys nonetheless. If I drop the database link and then deploy a mapping there is no error but then if I deploy a second mapping it comes back again (no real surprise here).
I tried to deploy the connector by setting it to "replace" and hit deploy. That was fine, but according to, OWB,even though I just replaced the exisiting DB link, it still didn't see that it was created. OWB still considered this connector as "New".
Does anyone know what I need to do to get OWB to stop trying to deploy the DB link with every mapping? How can I tell it that the DB link exists and is correct?
    Thanks!
    -Joe

    Hi there,
I experienced same issue a few days ago ... I'll tell you how I solved it.
I think the real problem is that the link gets never marked as deployed => so, it's deployed with every single mapping which is using it!
You can even try to deploy it on its own, and deploying process ends with no errors, but it is not marked as deployed ...
Why can't the link be marked as deployed? Where does the db_link come from?
The link is pointing to a location where you dragged from a table (or any object) to your mapping.
In my case, the location was first created and registered by another user before starting project development (with a new user).
I unregistered the location with the original user and registered it again with my user, than I could deploy it and got it marked accordingly.
It's never again apperead within my mapping deployments.
Hope I've been clear enough ... and helpfull!
    Joan.
