Random EDGE service

For the last two days I have rarely had EDGE service (No internet or visual voicemail). I have had the phone since they came out in June and had no trouble until 2 days ago. When I have no EDGE service my wife's phone will work just fine.
I have:
reset the network settings
reset all settings
soft reboot
restored all under iTunes
I also went through Apple's online support which included switching to Airplane mode for 15 seconds and back and resetting the SIM card. Sometimes EDGE will come back after doing a reset and waiting 15 minutes but then it goes away after a while.
Time to go back to the Apple store?

Exact same problem here. Noticed that the E symbol was showing up sporadically the other day and assumed it was a network issue.
Now I have no EDGE or GPRS data connection (no E symbol and no square). Haven't had an EDGE connection for about 2 days now.
My partner's iphone is not having the same issue. I had no EDGE at home last night and his had a connection the whole time, even when the phones were sitting next to each other.
I've tried power-cycling, resetting, and even a full restore with no luck, and am assuming it's a hardware issue.
I'm taking it in to the Apple store tonight - I'll post a follow-up if they are able to figure it out (or not).

  • Can't Start Edge Services - Certificate Issue?

    Similar to this
post, my edge services (a/v edge, web conferencing edge, etc) will not start with errors like 7023 and 7024. I went to the
Digicert Utility page linked in that post and if I enter sip.domain.com, I receive an error:
Certificate does not match name sip."domain".com
    Subject
    "edgeservername"."domain".com
    Valid from 31/Jul/2012 to 31/Jul/2014
    Issuer
    "Internal CA Server"
    SSL Certificate is not trusted
    External Cert Info:
    Subject: sip."domain".com
    SANs: sip."domain".com, "edge server name"."domain".com, meet."domain".com, "av server"."domain".com, "wc server"."domain".com, dialin."domain".com
Let me know if more information about the cert or the edge server is needed. Thanks!

The two DigiCert High Assurance Root CA certificates should not be in the Personal Store, but installed in the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities". I would also recommend double checking the the Current User's personal certificate store .
Have you installed the DigiCert Utility on the Edge server and tested the certificates (https://www.digicert.com/util/)?
This tool checks the certificates from the perspective of the server.
The http://www.digicert.com/help/ site checks the certificates from the perspective of an external client. If the Utility is
showing the certificates are correct but the Help site still shows the error, make sure your sip.domain.com IP is pointing to the Edge Access IP and not the Reverse Proxy.

  • The Lync Server Access Edge service not starting (ipconfig / certificate problem?)

    hey guys,
I am trying to install lync server 2010 for the first time. After installing everying i have a problem on the edge server, the Lync Server Access Edge services doesn't want to start and is giving specific error:
The Lync Server Access Edge service terminated with service-specific error %%-2146762480.
i have searched in the forums, i only read that it might have something to do with the ip config or the certificates, but i have no idea what exactly.
    I have the following servers:
    sql server (domain member)
    Archive server (domain member)
    Monitoring server (domain member)
and the edge server (not a domain member)
this edge server has two nics, one with a internal address and one with a public address.
for the internet side i used an internal AD CA for a certificate, for the external side i used a go daddy certificate.
does anyone has any idea? i am happy to provide additional information.
    thx, JW

    Hey Tim,
thanks for helping me. I am using one IP address externally. And if i understand correctly i am using port 443, 444 and 5061 (as suggested automatically by the topology builder)
internally i used an internal CA and external i used a godaddy multidomein certificate,  as we are planning to use multiple domains on it.  i used the wizard from the setup. i ran a request. In the wizard i see then the follwing Subject names and
    subject alternate names:
    sip.domain1.xx
    webconf.domain1.xx
and then in the next screen i can check other domains, so i checked also the other domains:
    domain2.xx
    domain3.xx
    domain4.xx
domain1.xx  (also the first domain is here and i checked it to be sure)
while i was gathering this information i noticed that the certificate wizard says that the external ede certifciate status = invalid. So there is my problem mostlikely. Although i do not understand why it is invalid.
So when using 1 ip address externally you will need to change the ports in your topology.
Under Edge Pools - > Right click your edge pool and click edit, down near the bottom make sure "Enable seperate FQDN and ip address for web etc...) is UNCHECKED.
the first FQDN, sip.domain.com port 443(TLS), the other 2 for webconf and av just change the port numbers. so when you request your 2 certs the only names will be the pool FQDN and sip.domain and your other sip domains. on your router/gateway open the 3
ports you selected from Outbound -> Inbound. for your external DNS sip.domain -> external IP address going to your firewall/gateway.
note that your edge server is not on the domain so you will need to edit your hosts file and add your frontend pool/server internal ip address and FQDN server name.
When you get "invalid" for the certificate what cert is it? the internal CA or GoDaddy?

Did you solve the issue with the help of the people above provided?
Which type of certificate did you use for Edge server (both internal and external interface)?

  • MS Edge services wont start on exchange 2007 installation on a server 2008 r2 in a 2003 domain

    Hi
I had a previous installation of exchange 2007 vanilla that I had to delete because of some errors on the nic card in a 2003 exchange environnement migration preparation. I've build a brand new 2008 R2 and i'm trying to install a new exchange 2007 SP1. When
the service edge try to start it seems  that it doenst want to get install. I've disable IPV6 from the nic and still the same problem. Is there something that need to be removed in the AD because of my previous 2007 installation ?
    thanks

    Hi,
I find this for your reference:
I would install Exch 2007 with SP3 slipstrreamed.  The download for SP3 is the full installation of Exchange.  The fact that Exch 2007 with SP1 is not R2 compatible, you will run into problems.
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1687160b-634a-43cb-a65a-f355cff0afa6&displaylang=en
"Clean installations of Exchange 2007 SP3 on a new server are possible by using this download in the same manner as you would install Exchange 2007 RTM, Exchange 2007 SP1 or Exchange 2007 SP2.
More details in the following similar thread:

  • Random Edge.3.0.0 Error Appears: Uncaught HierarchyRequestError

I'm using the CDN (http://animate.adobe.com/runtime/3.0.0/edge.3.0.0.min.js) for Edge's lib and find this error randomly being presented to me from the console.
“Uncaught HierarchyRequestError: A Node was inserted somewhere it doesn't belong”
Why does this error report randomly from the edge.3.0.0 lib script? It's not frequently showing itself enough to allow for proper debugging.

    Hi Sarah,
I can share it, but only privately. It's password protected for a client atm. I'd be happy to send you this info via email. Would that be possible?

  • Random "No Service" after updating to 3.1.3

This is my first post, so please be gentle!
So here is my issue. I was reluctant to upgrade to 3.1.3 as I had heard some people were having slow data throughput on the TELUS network in Toronto. But last week, I figured WTH?! Let's do it.
I regret now. Since upgrading to 3.1.3, my iPhone randomly will go into No Service while I am at my home and usually when it is in SLEEP mode. So far this is the only location where is happens (thank god), but the concern is that this has NEVER happened before on 3.1.2. Coincidentally, the issue usually happens when connected to WIFI as well, and no, I am not actually having the same issue ith data speeds... Just No Service @ all. Let's go through the troubleshooting I did before coming here:
    - Soft reset and pulled the SIM out and back.
    - Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings (I've done this too much for it to be normal. At least once a night)
    - Full restore of OS (I deleted the *.ipsw file from my computer to make sure that iTunes downloaded a fresh copy.)
My iPhone is in impeccable condition and has only been dropped once with its case on. I also want to REALLY emphasize that my phone is NOT JAILBROKEN. This is happening on an untampered OS. I also have full signal in my house and am in line of sight of a cell site. Once I do reset my settings and restart the device, I get full service until the next random incident.
If anyone can help me with this it would be AWESOME... Its frustrating to have to reset my device and network settings at least once a day.
    Thanks!
    ~Tom

Not a bug. If a bug, the overwhelming majority of users would be experiencing the same, which is not the case.
Copied from my previous post, which you apparently missed.
+When you restored your iPhone with iTunes, did you restore from your iPhone's backup or as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup?+
+If the former only, try the latter. If there is a problem with your iPhone's backup, restoring from the backup will also restore the problem.+
+If no change after restoring your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, try getting a new SIM card from your carrier to eliminate a potential problem with your existing SIM card. If no change after that, contact AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby. The iPhone includes a one year warranty.+

  • BI Publisher (Obiee 11g) Scheduled jobs start randomly after services restarting

    Hi everybody,
I've a problem with scheduled jobs on BI Publisher that start randomly after server restarting.
For example if there's a job scheduled every day at 8.00 am it works fine until the server is not restarted but when I restart it next job running start at 9.28 am (it is an example because the real start time is very unpredictable).
In my case bi publisher is integrated with obiee 11g (11.1.1.6.2) and I've scheduled jobs with administrative user (weblogic). For this user I've set the Bi Publisher Preferences (report locale = Italiano-Italia, Report Time Zone = GMT +1:00) from obiee analytics user account preferencies.
Can anyone have this problem too and help me?
    Thanks
    Annalisa

These are not helpful. The first link is to OBIEE 10g and the second is just an install guide. I am having the same issue with BI Publisher returning java.lang.NullPointerException in OBIEE 11g. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

  • IPhone Randomly Losing Service

More and more frequently my iPhone is loosing service in areas I normally have it. I will just pick it up and notice that in the upper left hand corner it will say "no service". Once I shut down and reboot, the service bars are where they should be. Any ideas on why this is happening? Is it happening to anyone else? It just ***** because I never know that it has lost service until I look at the phone and there have been several occasions where I have missed many calls or text messages-- very frustrating!

I'm having the same problem, but only at home and within a mile of my house. At my office or other places it works fine. ATT has done nothing but make me angry about the issue. It has been 10 days since I first called in about it. It has escalated to the point that I had a critical case that they claim is being resolved today. It is 10:30 PM and my 3g service still comes and goes when at home.
I'm so sick of ATT and I'm hoping Verizon will be even a tiny bit better and able to admit that their network has faults....unlike ATT.

    Hi there,
It sounds like you have already performed a majority of the steps listed in the article below, but you may still want to at some of the troubleshooting listed.

If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, contact your carrier, orcontact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.

  • Random Internet Service Lag/Dropout

About once an hour or so (on average), my internet just drops out for a few seconds... if I'm playing WoW, it comes off as a lag spike that lasts about 5-10 seconds, and if I'm browsing it'll give me 5-10 seconds of "Web site not found" messages until it kicks in again.  This has been happening for a little while now, and I was wondering if there was anything I could do, before I go calling Tech Support.
I've got three computers up and running in the house, and whenever the lag spike/dropout happens, it happens on any computers that might be on.  Most commonly, my roommate and I are playing WoW together, and we get these lag spikes at the exact same time every single time.

  • Lync Edge Server Service Not Starting

i am having an issue with starting the "Lync Server Audio/Video Edge" service on my lync edge server. when i try to start the service it throws the following error..
"The Lync server audio/video edge service on local computer started and than stopped. some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
than in the event viewer logs there are 2 specific errors i can see that look like the following..
what is stopping me from fixing this right away is that i havent changed anything in my configuration, seems to have broke on its own. i can post more errors i have found in other places as well if needed. any help is greatly appreciated

hey sean, thanks for your response. all things point to something else using port 443 right now.. however from what i can see from a netstat command it doesnt look like anything new is running on it. here is a copy/paste of my most recent netstat command..
