Random pop up

Guys, this may have been covered somewhere else.  I'm having a very weird issue with my MBPr (15" mid 2012).  I'm getting a pop up window similar to the trash delete message that stays up only for a split second.  I have no idea what it says or what it's related to.  I'm certain I haven't downloaded some form of malware or what have you, but I'm not so sure either.  Can anyone recommend some software to clear this up?  I know this is vague, and I apologize for that, but it's the best I can provide at this time.  Thanks in adv

Thanks, I just turned it off for good measure.  Additionally, I think it was a software issue in that something wasn't playing nice.  So I uninstalled a few apps and haven't seen the pop-up since.

  • Yoga 13 - On-screen Keyboard Randomly Popping Up When Using Physical Keyboard?

While in laptop mode, and typing on the built-in physical keyboard or a keyboard attached via USB, the on-screen keyboard will randomly pop up, taking away focus (particularly noticeable when using extended desktop on an external display) and eating up half of the screen real estate.  As soon as I press the next key on the physical board, the on-screen keyboard minimizes itself.  Sometimes it will pop up when I'm not even touching the laptop!
Anyone else experience this and/or know how to stop it?  It's the only thing about this machine that drives me absolutely nuts.  It seems to be random.  I can't pin it down and haven't found any similar reports via Google search.
    Thanks in advance.

Disabling "OnScreen Keyboard (Lenovo Transition)" stopped it.  The solution is good enough for me, as I don't need the keyboard to pop up on its own anyway.  It'll pop up when I tap in a text-entry box, and that's all that matters.
Attempts to calibrate the screen were unsucecssful.  I can't say whether or not a screen calibration will stop the random pop-up issue because every time I calibrated the screen, it broke the right-side screen swipe that reveals the Charms Menu.  Resetting the screen calibration was the only way I could find to restore the right-side swipe function. This is quite unfortunate because, regardless of the fact that it broke my Charms swipe, my touchpoints were FAR more accurate after the calibration than before.
So now I have another problem.  I can't calibrate my screen for optimum accuracy without losing the convenience of the right-side swipe.
    Any ideas?

Your description of the problem sounds like a failing CD\DVD drive.

  • Flex Time Creates Random Pops

Flex time is creating random pops after just minor correction of a monophonic bass line. The pops vary depending on where the playback starts in the file and they are recorded into merged or bounce in place audio. No plugs on the channel either.

I am getting that exact same problem too. A bass line that after using Flex time on, would randomly get clicks on it. I think it's doing it to the guitar lines too.
What seemed to work for me was changing the Flex time setting from Monophonic to Slicing. It kind of defeats the purpose of Flex time, but at least it sounds right again.
    Hope Apple fixes this soon!

Try trashing the .plist with CharacterViewer in its name in Home/Library/Preferences.  To get to Home/Library you may need to hold the option key down while you do Finder > Go.

  • Shutdown screen randomly pops up when I start an app or try to charge

At first, the wake/sleep and volume up buttons, when pressed, would seem to activate each other. So whenever I'd go to turn the volume up my ipod would go into sleep mode and whenever I'd try to put the ipod into sleep mode the volume would get turned up. Very annoying and frustrating! Over time that problem subsided and I haven't experienced that problem in a long time, but every since then, whenever I start an app I've downloaded or plug the ipod in to charge, the shut down screen randomly pops up! Other than these rather annoying "glitches", my ipod has been working fine. I was thinking of waiting for the next software update before I send it in for repairs to see if that might fix the problem because I really do depend on my ipod in my day-to-day life. So I guess I have a few questions:
Has anyone else experienced theese problems?
Does anyone know whats going on with my ipod?
When is the next software update after 2.2 going to be available?

    Hi,
Do you have a protective case on the iPod touch? If you do, try testing without the case.
Does the iPod have any signs of accidental damage or abuse?
Try resetting the iPod by holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple logo as described here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305743
If the issue persists, try restoring the iPod touch. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 will walk you through the restore process.
If the issue is not resolved by restoring the iPod, make a reservation with a Genius or call AppleCare.

  • Does your Macbook make Random Popping Sounds?

Hi all, does your Macbook make random popping sounds, on startup and periodically when your using your MB. I have this issue with two macbooks and i can't seem to find many other people who have this problem. I'm unsure whether it's the audio popping issue mentioned in other threads because this happens when no external speakers are plugged in. It's just pops away on it's own and it's driving me mad, i can't even pin it down to a specific task because it;s so random.
Both of my Macbook are operating under 10.4.11.
    Arrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh

Actually now that you've mentioned it, mine sometimes randomly makes the popping sounds, more to the likes of 'clipping' of speakers. But the odd thing is, mine only pops when connect my speakers (it's a Cambridge Soundworks 4.1 setup which i purchased over 6 years ago) - and the speakers have been fine all these while? I am positive that it's not my speakers because just recently (2-3 days ago) my brother brought his HP laptop and used my speakers and i did not hear anything even after he left his inferior (haha kidding) laptop on my desk to have a smoke without any music/sound coming out of the speakers.
To be more precise. my popping sound occurs specifically (as I haven't tried others) as I pause my music on iTunes. It does annoy the h*ll out of me and I really assumed that it was my speakers.
At least I'm not alone now. My Macbook specs are listed below.

  • How do I stop the Launchpad on my Mac from randomly popping up?

While using my MacBook Pro the Launchpad just randomly pops up. I've tried everything I can think of including turning off all of the hotspots. It started out just every once and a while but now it does it all the time and many times while I'm working on something else. Please help!

Remove LP from the Dock.  That should solve the pop up problem.

  • My brand new iPad Air 2 is making a random popping sound.

My brand new iPad Air 2 is making a random popping sound and there are crackling sounds when I have the earphones plugged in and browsing with no music. Guy at Apple store could not replicate it when I walked in. Is this normal?
Should I get it replaced and what are the chances that its going to happen again?

Around here I've seen many posters that have renamed the ipad air 2 the "Ipop". You should read some of the older posts by clicking on View More at the bottom of the page until you come across it or do a search for Ipad air 2 popping noise. Last I saw it was hit or miss.  Good luck.

  • MuVo N200 random pops and crack

    Hei!
Just want to report that the old and known problem with a lot of MuVo N200 units, the random popping sounds, is not completely removed by the new firmware .2.0.! The total amount of these ugly noises decreased, thats right, but a few of them are still there. Have double-checked this by rewinding and re-listening (then the noise is gone), and also back-copying to the harddisk and re-listening from there (the noises are also gone).
Does this really ugly firmware-bug ever get properly fixed?

I'm curious as to what exactly are the circumstances that lead to crackling, because it has never been a problem with my unit. Maybe it's just the way I use it, or the luck of the draw.
My guess is that there's many possible causes for the crackling, and the Creative team is only finding (and fixing) the ones they know about?
Not trying to be all Creative-loving on anyone, but just trying to figure out what's the difference between my experiences and those of others.

I'm sorry to hear that the "research" feature annoyed you so much. Let me help you with the issue.
Go to File>Option>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings>Privacy Options>Cancel the selection "Allow the research pane to check for and install new service".

  • Audigy 2 Value randomly pops/clicks when the computer is just idling.

EAudigy 2 Value randomly pops/clicks when the computer is just idling.; I can't figure out why the I hear random popping and clicking when I'm doing absolutely nothing to the computer. Typing this right now doesn't seem to cause any popping. It usually happens when I'm not really doing anything to my computer. This was happening with Creative's drivers and software so I switched to kX drivers, but that didn't help. When I first got my computer (Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe) and got the Audigy 2, I had no problem with Creative's software/drivers at the time, no popping had occur until I installed an SATA HD. PCI latency tool helped at the time. Then I had to go through a reformat and after the reinstallation of Windows XP, the popping started occuring randomly. After my motherboard supposely didn't want to POST anymore, I bought another one which was the Epox. And same problem occured even though I reformat and reinstalled windows.
Right now, the only thing I could think of that the SATA HD and Sound Blaster cards don't mix well together. But none of these are sharing resources. I did not want to try decrease any hardware acceleration at the moment, will there be any difference in sound or performance if I lower the acceleration?
    Here are my current specs,
    Windows XP Pro SP3
    Amd AthlonXP 2600+ @ 2.2ghz
    GB DDR Ram
    ATI x800 xt AIW
    Epox 8RDA3+ Pro
Running Sata HD and IDE, SATA is the master dri've.
    Some other info,
The sound card is not shared by any IRQ
PCI Latency Tool didn't help when I tried to set the latency from 32 to 64
    Bios is updated
    Nforce2 drivers are updated
    Klite codec pack 4.5.3 installed
kX drivers used instead of Creatives?
    Onboard sound is disabled
Dxdiag did not find any problems
